SNMC has upgraded and now members must $a month with no notificationApparently an email
Here is my letter to Membership Services
Originally in calling Membership Services I had the intentions of asking why as a loyal customer for years and member of SNMC that I would have to pay this "apparent", unbenounced to me membership increase for SNMCI was given the complete run-around of who to talk to when finally the cycle of transfers ended with a conversation with Kelsey, the assistant GM of SNMCShe gave me your contact information as they do not "deal" with membership retention
I heard from a friend today that memberships are increasing. Thus, I called SNMC for further clarificationI spoke with Michael and he said there was no way around not paying the increase $bi-weeklyInstead of listening to my concerns/frustration,he went on and on about the state of the art tower and grass patch etc" they put $into the gym so a fee increase is unavoidable." I felt like this was a lost cause so ended the conversation as I was only going to listen to some SN manager jargon
Next conversation was an incorrect transfer followed by Kelsey, assistant managerSame rhetoricNothing they can doAt one point she said she did not have the answerSo I asked, then connect me to someone who doesAt another point, I asked to not be in an argument as her tone was completely defensiveI was horrified with her rudeness and ineffectiveness in customer service
Listen, I know there is upgradesNot a member can miss it with the signs plastered all overWhat has not been addressed over the last few months, as upgrade signs have appeared, is the notification that pretty much every member ("unless signing up in the last year") is being told to pay $extra a monthToldI'm not okay with thisYes, I attained my membership from Fitness World over years agoAt that time, Steve Nash didn't exist in our area or probably in many areasMy husband and I have been clients for over yearsI'd appreciate some customer loyaltyYet every single time I talked to someone today I was met with resistance and rudeness
*** * The way I was spoken to today was disgustingI would have been fired if I dealt with customers in the same way as KelseyI asked this conversation with her to be written on my file as she says they do not do reference numbers
Initially, what began as a complaint about membership fees became a complete customer service issue and complaintI am not okay with paying an extra $monthSorryThat money is better well spent going into my two son's RESPI am extremely not okay with not being told that I am to pay for this upgradeI'd also like to support a gym that treats it's clients wellNot just consumed with recruiting new members Not once was I polled during a workout to see if I was okay to pay $(an increase of 50%) to have equipment installed in the gym that I am never going to useI feel blindsided, and I am sure many SNMC members will too when they examine their visa statements debit transactions next monthThere needs to be a remedy to this problem
As for customer service goes, I am disappointedDisappointed in the way the manager and assistant manager of SNMC handled the situationDisappointed in the lack of sincerityAnd incredibly disappointed in how GM and assistant GM can be so rude and argumentative to loyal clients who have paid into this gym for years

When I signed up I thought I was paying $for one monthAfter my credit card bill came, I saw they billed $twice a monthThey did not give me a copy of the contractSo I asked them to email me a copy of the contractI find out the are billing me $twice a month and I am obligated to pay for one yearOn the first page of the contract it says monthly amount 0$The sales person did not explain any of the billing to meOn the last page it says I am aware that my automatic billing will start on "Blank, not filled inI have talked to the manager at the facility, *** and women at the Steve Nash head office and they admitt the is an error on the last page where the dates are blankThey will not cancell the membership
I thought I was just going for one month because my friend was going thereAfter the month was up, I was going back to *** gym where I already have a membershipMy friend was moving out of town after that so I do not want that member

*** *** Reading all those reviews making wonder why any one would ever join this group *** Here is my story: a sales person from Steve Nash came to my restaurant and offered me a deal which is if I advertise their business in my restaurant by putting one of their boxes on my front counter for my customers to enter their names and other information into the box as potential member for Steve Nash, then my wife and I will get free membership for as long as we keep the box in the restaurant It seemed like a fair deal and I accepted the offer and every week I provided all the information provided by my customers to Steve Nash staff member at the Kingsway Street Location near Royal Oak I kept my end of the bargain for good month, but Steve Nash kept charging my wife's *** the monthly fee and every time we went to Steve Nash to bring it to their attention that our *** is still being charged, we were promised that it will be fixed immediately Of course they were all bunch of liars and now we are told forget the deal and we were just lying to you and we will continue charging you every month and you can't even cancel your membership until January As a business man myself, I find it disgusting how Steve Nash is conducting business by lying The funny thing is their membership manager (Dustin) asked me to prove their lies by producing a written offer from them and when I told him of his own staff are standing their and willing to testify to him about what happened and the deal offered to me by they agent, he simply said well that won't make any difference to him
This is my first respond to Steve Nash's lies and I won't stop here I am going to put this review on *** and every other website I am also going to contact *** card to stop payments and refund all the last month payment If this doesn't work to bring Steve Nash to it is senses, then I will file a small claim court against Steve Nash, so they know there are people who will stand up to them and their lies

Steve Nash Fitness World sent an email advertising the following and I quote verbatim from the email I received on December 23, 2018:

I visited Kitsilano Steve Nash Fitness World at #200-West Broadway, Vancouver, BC a couple of days after Christmas to take advantage of this offer I was told by a sales associate that my membership of $a year would not be honoured and that the cheapest rate that my partner could sign up for would be $bi-weekly

This business is still using my cell phone number to contact me about purchasing a membership months after I requested that they delete my information and not contact me

Good morning,
Confirming the cancellation of two memberships and' the unacceptable ''over withdrawal' of my account
I had the membership for a year for myself and my employee *** ***.' It was explained to me that I would have to sign another contract to extend after the year, which was desirable to me since I contract and on the road typically a lotI could not forecast my location in a year.'
I double checked my membership status'when I was in the *** Branch at the beginning of Jan knowing that it was coming to an end shortly.' The "counter representative" said "I had until Jan 31"I asked if I needed to do anything since I was not continuing the contract.' She told me that "my payments would stop after my last payment of that month'and if I wanted to extend and stay after Jan 31'with Steve Nash Fitness'I could with a month to month contract, but there was nothing for me to do with a specific cancellation of my two membershipThey would just stop and we(Mysel

didn't get proper notice for contract expires; and started to collect higher rates without notice, but inquiry was denied quoting the contract saying they only notifying member out of courtesy, but had rights to bill on higher rates, sent email requesting for proof of any notification, no reply, billed to my daughter's credit card, and my daughter complained few times, Steve Nash even didn't bother to respond

I wanted to have months training session but then I end up signing for a year,
After training I could not go due to work hours restrictions, after months, I was pregnant and said due to pregnancy I can not continue to come in, so can you please cancel my membership, to which they clearly told me that I had signed contract and in order to cancel, I need to pay all the amount, Even though I wont be able to use the services, I really felt cheated as this was not verbalized, so I read contract and ot said on certain conditions membership can be cancelled, I thing being pregnant is mot one of them
Anyway, so I asked them to cancel whenever the contract is over
Now, my contract was over in June and I am still being billed, so I asked them and they said you need to fill out cancellation form and verbal cancellations are not acceptableAlso it takes days for cancellation, which means I am paying months on top of my contract, and now they told me there will be charge of mainten

I have been trying to cancel my membership for health reasons and they have been declining to without a doctors noteI never received a doctors note and they use refuse to cancelAdditionally, I mentioned that I never received a copy of the contract and that their terms state I should be allowed to cancel under those terms as well

This complaint is for the location at***, Vancouver,***
I signed up for service at this locationI was very clear that I didn't want any contract or anything binding because I was moving within months and would just sign up at another gymThe lady who took care of handling this, ***, promised me that I could go on a monthly basis at a more expensive price, and just cancel at anytimeAfter time passed I eventually wanted to cancel, I was told to email their special email*** I got a reply saying that they would cancel but because I was on a yearly plan, I would still have to pay out the remainder of the contract.*** I tried to complain shortly after the events but was told that the employee no longer worked there, and that the manager that was there was also replaced and she couldn't therefore validate anything.***

steve nash charge years of membership fee from me without letting me know and refuse to give it backwith I only use few times in the first year

After receiving my notice of membership cancellation on May 27th I started receiving calls in late July from Steve Nash Clubs for payment of an outstanding club enhancement fee The fee is $I replied with an email that I am not aware of these fees and not willing to pay them and that I wish for them to stop calling meI considered the matter resolved until I received a letter in the mail dated April 21, asking for payment of this feeI am shocked that this has not been satisfactorily resolved and they are still seeking payment

I and my friend went to the gym for trying the Free 7Day trial which they promoted at the time on ***
My friend told that she signed in this promotion at the other location in *** so I filled out the simple application form
And they asked me to leave my ID at the reception desk before using the gym
After the gym, I asked them return my ID but they didn't do right away
*** , the steve nash rep, urged me to sign in an annual membership but I rejected the offer three times
I told him that I just want to try seven days and I will decide it
And then, he offer me "Three weeks membership" which was I can use the gym in three weeks for $(I charged $by my credit card on Nov 20)
My friend thought same as me that I signed the three weeks contract
*** let me sign with electronic pen but didn't show me the agreement befor

I purchased a membership for months and May got pregnantI was ill unable to work or physically capable to use the gymI emailed head office with a letter from my doctor in September and was told they would put a freeze on my account till mid March ***
I received a letter September stating my membership expires soon, I called and was told that my membership expires March and of I wish to cancel email a letter days prior to cancellation so no fees would be charged or email to cancel immediately and a refund would be given to meI did as I was told and was told rudely that no refund will be given to me as I had promotion time on my membership
I was told I could get a refund and that is what I'm asking forThis company is not *** and has caused me stressed with regards to this matterI

The company is offering a promotion to sign up one new referral at the rate that the referring member currently pays with no initiation feeWhen I requested to sign up using the promo I was told that my current rate would not be matched for a new member because it is lower than their promotion allowsWhen I clarified that the promotion did not state any limits or exclusions I was told there was nothing that could be done to honour the offerAt my current rate and access terms the offer would allow my referral to sign up for about $bi-weeklyI was told the lowest they could offer for the same quality of membership is $Please contact me by email if you require a copy of the email promotion

I signed up for an annual membership online after being emailed by Fitness WorldI paid by credit card and from the site there was no indication that there would be additional chargesI was then contacted by them and they asked me to come in "to get a key fob" so I could get into the clubI told them I already had one from an earlier trial and they told me that I was good to go thenNothing else requireddays later I get a call from *** ***, Member Services Steve Nash Fitness World Administration Telephone ***1, ***She told me that my days were up and that I owed them $"membership enhancement fee"I told them I was unaware of this and would like it in writingThey emailed me a copy of a contract with a fraudulent signature on it and claim it was signed by meThe signature looks nothing like mine and I am happy to provide an exampleJust not to themI've told them I"m not comfortable providing them with anything that can be used to im

I was a Steve Nash member for a yearDuring that year we had our first child and my wife's was cancelledI finished that year after a short freeze and at the end I went in and cancelled the membershipSigned the paperwork and gave back my electronic swiperThat was June Just looked over my old accounts and they have been continuing to bill me since that timeIt was " Steve Nash" and now it's under some "***" the bank couldn't tell me who this was so I looked them up and it's Steve nashI called and they said yeah you never cancelledBut I didThe local manager passed me off saying they had no paperwork so he couldn't help me and said I'd have to go thru head office
I haven't been into the club since Jan and not just that club any club and which was confirmed by the local managerHe said that only head office would have copies of the cancellation and I'm freaking out that they are going to get away with ***$ of my money
Product_Or_Service: Gym member

I joined Steve Nash Gym for a One Year Subscription on Nov16/ I spoke with one of the employees that I did not want to continue the programHe said it was okay
After they sent me three bills:
July/for $
July/for $
July27/for $
Furthermore I spoke with someone the phone at head officeAt that point he informed me that it was a contract and even you don't use the services you still have to payHowever when I originally signed up I was not informed of a contractThe gentleman over the phone told I have to pay it or I would have to email and dispute the charges On July28/I sent an email regarding the issue
They replied to the email on July18/saying it was a contract and I have to pay itThey didn't give me an opportunity to speak with anyone about it so on August14/they sent a Collection Notice for $and it come to this

I have had a back injury years ago and couldn't use their services but I was still paying my monthly feesOnly years ago I requested to suspend my membership due to my injuryThey asked for a medical report which I have been providing every monthsThis time my doctor was away and I couldn't get him to provide me the report to keep my suspension goingSteve Nash charged my account for $30+ and when I contacted them for a refund as I won't be using their servicesThey refused and offered future credit to my accountI informed them that this won't be realistic as I may not be fit to go back any time soonRenee and Conni refused to assist and claimed that the $is for "maintenance" for a gym that I haven't laid a foot in for more than yearsI have now cancelled my subscription for good

Signing the contract they tell you that you need to give days notice to leave the gym and you initially pay for the last days up front
When you actually go to cancel they tell you that it will take days to process the cancellation and then the days after that count
They charge you for an extra month when you are leaving
