a very unrepeatable business practiceto state that the service provided is unlimited talk text and web when in fact the text and web are highly limited I was told by customer service representative and a technical support and technical support supervisor was receiving kilobytes per second that is the speed that the services throttle down to after the three gigabyte cap that is set by the cellular service provider you never actually reach gigabytes of data before your service is throttled then on top of everything else your throttled bandwidth speed is actually below kilobytes per second limiting functionality of web sites affectively limiting web activity so there claim of unlimited web is misleading and service statement

I am VERY close to filing a Revdex.com Complaint against Straight Talk(Straight Talk, TracFone, Net 10, America Movil) which is basically a middle man between Wal Mart and a real cell phone company, usually Verizon.I can not go without ANY Internet service interruptionI decided to get something that should have been released to the public many years ago: a MiFi HotSpot, which is SUPPOSED to be very useful if you travelLet's say I travel in a Motor HomeThis would be PERFECTNot having the money to pay for the Verizon Jet Pack, I decided to try Straight Talk device firstI DID MY RESEARCHI checked the device; it is configured for VERIZONI checked the Coverage Map, and Zoomed InIt is just about NATION WIDEI even entered EVERY zip code that I would be locatedTHE SAME DEVICE MODEL NUMBER APPEARED EVERY TIME.The limited usage is bad enoughAnd literally, I do not use it oftenI go for weeks without using itAnd then what happens is that it says "Your data has been exhausted." when I signed into my Straight Talk account on my other Internet service confirms I STILL HAVE UNUSED DATAThis has happened TWICE so farAND the Chat Based customer service told me some thing completely differentThey also said I should not travel outside my zip codeTHIS HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH DATA USAGEAlso, this is supposed to be a NATIONWIDE MOBILE HOTSPOTAnd guess what: MANY CITIES HAVE MORE THAN ONE ZIP CODE, OR CITIES WHICH ARE RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHERThe argument continued and AN HOUR AND A HALF OF MY LIFE IS GONE FOREVERWhat ever happened to "Satisfaction Guaranteed Or Your Money Back."?! That type of business does not exist any moreIt is now NECESSARY to file a complaint onlineI will NOT comply with the Zip Code "restriction"I know that at least with Verizon you CAN travel NATIONWIDE, AND QUITE OFTEN, with a MiFi deviceI guess I will have to spend lots of money and switch to Verizon

I just reactivated my phone with Straight talk today and went on their website to buy a ringtone and found one I liked for $It said I would recieve a text msg that would allow me to download itIt did not tell me that I needed a modern cellphone to download itI only have a Samsung Blackberry which is all I need in lifeI I called the business over the phone to see if I could possibly find someway to get the ringtone and found out there was no way for me to download it or recieve a refund I asked for a manager and went through many representatives until I found someone who proclaimed to be a managerShe seemed sincere at first and pretended like she was investigating the problem and when I mentioned a refund she said she said she would look to see if the charge went through in their system and then I had the phone promptly hung up on me Avoid this business at all costs! Terrible customer support and the business is out to get the customer!

I became a customer in January of I had heard from a friend it was great serviceThat was not my experienceThe sales person at Walmart told me my phone would get the same signal as Verizon, nope not trueMy fiance gets service on Verizon almost everywhere I lose signal as soon as we hit the parkway to my grandparents, he has signal the entire timeMy signal strength is always below bars no matter where I amCustomer service is absolutely horribleThere was an outage lat winter and they acted like they had no clue and told me they couldn't helpEvery time I call I get someone who barely speaks english and they all read off the same scriptThey don't know how to fix your issuesMy picture messaging keeps messing up and they've now had to change my APN settings times! I did receive $back from the lawsuit they went though, they are still cutting my data off thoughThat didn't do anythingI do not use my mobile data hardly any but I seem to get 3G more than the promised 4GI chose to chat with them online instead of calling however, they take 10-mins in between each response before they reply to youI feel they are trying to deal with more than one person at a time and that's not rightI will be leaving straight talk in January I feel I can get better service and customer service elsewhere

After being a loyal StraightTalk for many years, I hate to say I'm disgusted by this company.Not long after purchasing a new straight talk phone from walmart, it stopped working I was unable to make or recieve calls or text messages, or use the internetIt was completely uselessI contacted support who went through all the basic troubleshooting for my phone to no availThey said I needed a new sim and it would be shipped to me and I would have it in business days After receiving the sim I called straight talk to activate it and unfortunately it did not workedSo the next step was to do a factory resetI asked if the factory reset did not work what was the next stepI was told my phone would be replaced if it didnt work, which the factory reset did nothing other than delete everything I got over it though, and waited patiently for the prepaid empty package to arrive so I could send my non working device in and they could ship my replacement devicePostage paid package arrived quickly, days later I had it and sent my phone backIt was then more than TWO MONTHS waiting for that replacement phoneEveryday I would call and every person I talked to would tell me something different I was told daily that it had been shipped, when I would ask for the tracking number they would give me the tracking number for the empty package they sent me weeks priorOther times they would say that there were none in stock, or that they would "elevate it" and it would be taken care ofNearly months later I recieve the replacement phone and activated itEverything was ok for the next couple months but now here I am again going through the same thing more the less This month I purchased my international refill card like I do every month for yearsI then went to add my refill and it wouldn't let me through the automated service and transferred me to a representativeI was then told I needed a new sim card and I would receive it in business daysSo I call back days later and was lied to Told it was already shipped but yet there was no tracking numberThey said to call back the next day if I didn't receive it by thenSo when I didn't receive it the following day I called back and was told it was still being processed and hadn't even left the warehouseAnd its been like this, back and forth between "its on its way" to others saying "its being processed and will ship tomorrow " Its been over a week I've been without my service (again) and I am super frustratedI only expect a reliable phone service, nothing moreSo my frustration led me to look into other carriersI called yesterday to see if they would refund my $refill card that I did not get to use, they said no So I said oh well, and added it to my list of losses, as unfair as it seemedI then went and opened and acct with another mobile carrier who has the "bring your own phone" option as well and planned on using my straight talk phone thats in perfect condition, until I could save up for a phone from that carrierIt was then I discovered I had to have straight talk "unlock" my device in order for it to work with another companyFine, fair enough Called the 1st time, call was answered quickly but the person who answered didn't have the "tools" to unlock devices so he then transferred me to the unlocking department(They have a whole department for that, apparently) I waited on the line for over minutes just for the call to get "disconnected" so I call backI explain that I needed the unlocking department and that it got disconnected after 40+ minutes of waitingHe said after minutes waiting he recommends I hang up and call back So I did that times until they finally gave me a direct number to the unlocking department where I then called twice before someone finally answeredI was then told that my device could not be unlocked for a yearIt goes by the activation date of the PHONE not the account or anything like that, so, although I have been with them longer than a year, it went by the REPLACEMENT phone activation dateSo because their defective phone had to be replaced at no fault of my own, I have a phone and $refill that I can do nothing with I paid over $for the phoneI do not owe them any money, and I've actually LOST moneyI was even transferred to " Corporate" who then tried transferring me to "Corporate in Miami" only to have the call disconnected I'm not asking them for refunds or money, I just want my phone unlocked so I can have a reliable phoneI have kids and a job, so like most of you I need my phone Straight talk has went down hill so much over the years and its sad I used to highly recommend them, and now I wouldn't recommend StraightTalk even if they were the last phone company out there.So, so very disappointed

Original problem: On 12/20/14, I bought two activation kits ($each, plus tax) for Straight talk wireless to switch mine and my husband's phone service from Verizon Wireless to Straight Talk WirelessI was able to activate my husband's iPhone 4S without any problemsThe number transfer and activation for his phone took about hoursWhen I went to activate my phone at the same time, I was told that I was going to have to wait 7-days for the correct SIM card that was compatible with my brand new, unlocked iPhone 5, an LTE phone.I had already bought the activation kit that had SIM cards, so being told I would have to wait because the SIM card I needed isn't included in this $kit was frustrating, but I agreed, and they put in the order to ship the cardThe card arrived, after daysI called the next day, 1/1/to finish the activation for my phoneI gave them all of the activation number including my phone's serial number, the network access code, new SIM card number, and service plan information (for the minutes)I was told the number transfer from Verizon to Straight talk, plus activation period would take anywhere from 2-hours, and to call back if the phone did not work by thenAt this time, I still had service on my old phone (a 4S that I was dealing with until the new phone was activated), on Verizon's numberI called back not only hours later (1/2/15), and was told to wait another hourshours (1/3/15) after the initial activation, the phone still didn't workI was told that Verizon wasn't releasing the number, and another Port request was sent, according to STWI was told at this time that the phone would absolutely be working by 11:PM that nightIt wasnt working, so I attempted to contact STW, and waited for hours on their chat system without being contacted by a rep onceI called the following day, 1/4/at PM, and was told to wait another hours, AGAINAt this point I visited Verizon , who stated that the Port was still in process and they had not even received a request at all for the port until the previous night (hours after it was supposed to have happened initially)Fast forward another hours, my Verizon phone stopped workingVerizon had approved the port and cancelled my service, but my STW service wasn't working either, because of a "glitch" in their system.As of 1/6/I have now been waiting a total of FIVE days for my service, and my phone STILL doesn't work I had to sit for another hours on the phone to finally get my phone to work, three days after I submitted this complaint! Update: I have now been using the service for just over month, and it is absolutely awful! I can occasionally make calls as long as I'm in a fairly suburban area, and where I live that isn't commonI can't use my Data AT ALLI can't laid a webpage, check my email, send texts that require data (such as iMessage on my iPhone)It's terrible! The absolute worst service that I have ever had, and I haven't bothered to call and complain because I don't feel like dealing with the atrocious customer service! The last time I dealt with them the reps were all rude, uncaring, could hardly understand english let alone speak it! I have filed yet ANOTHER complaint with Revdex.com about this companyDO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! This the the WORST experience that I have EVER had with any company! I'm looking for a refund, waste of time and money! I have not gotten any resolution for anything with this company, no matter who I talk to

Did not use the phone for several months and they gave me a new phone numberProblem is that for the last two months the card time went to the old number I no longer haveThey fixed it for me last month 12-but this month they say they cannot fix it twice so I am out a $card and they say I will have to buy another cardBut no guarantee that it will not put that card on the old # againI don't think soAnd even though the phone was given a new # in the my account of the phone it still has the old #And the customer service was terribleThey were almost impossible to understandBesides not being helpfulI entered my ph # below but it doesn't work.lol

Worst customer serviceWe opted for the bring your own phone planThe SIM card that was in the non refundable $kit worked for a month, we called Straight Talk and they sent a new SIM card that took daysWe tried to activate that card and Straight Talk says that they sent the wrong SIM card so they will need to send another SIM card, however, they made us renew our monthy minutes first, which we were saving since the phone had no service so no reason to add the minutesSo it will now be another days to get a SIM card, because they messed up in the first placeHave been on the phone with them for over an hourThey say no one in their company can get a shipment next day even though it was their mistake

Pretty shady with their business dealings, and unfortunately, hard to understand customer service agentsThe coverage is good, the 4G is fine, however they will automatically enroll you in auto-refill regardless of your choice to opt-out EVERY month

Inaccurate tracking of dataOutright lies from customer service agents via Facebook chatFacebook chat is pushed as a great wa to communicate with agents Initial contact on 1/18/Via texting they stated my data was at 4gbMy phone data tracking stated Via FB chat the agent stated that my data was actually as of 1/18/On 1/22/my data had been slowed to almost nothingUpon contact via FB chat I was informed that my data in the system was at 5GB but via phone contact I was told the syestem showed 3gb wouldnt update till the next day but must be at 5GB since my data had been throttledMy phone tracking was only at 3gb So in about five days my phone tracking data is no longer ever close to accurate? Straight talk is unfairly tracking dataAccording to my phone I had used 1GB in data in that time frameStraight talk stated I used 3gbAbsolutely a far cry to what my phone tracked I have screen shots of my FB chats and intent to file a complaintBefore I got a 4G phone I rarely came close to using the allotted 3gbAll of a sudden I have a 4G and I use 5gb of data in weeksSomething is fishy and it really stinks!

Had automatic credit card payment set up on my accountlogged into my account to change credit card account numberCharge showed up on old credit card accountCalled Straight Talk and they could not identify either credit card that I had given them.I had to give them all the new credit card information over the phone using aeronautical alphabet (exalfa for the letter a)This hole process took about one hour to change credit card charges

Straight talk needs to get their stuff togetherI paid my bill days agoThat same day they shut my phone off and within an hour someone else had my phone numberI am currently pregnant and days past my due dateMy husband was pretty upset when he couldnt get a hold of me and some guy answered on my number and said he had the wrong numberAfter 4hours and a [redacted] off husband they finally turned my phone back on and gave me back my phone numberNow two days later my husband left for work this morning and couldnt call me because my phone was deactivatedYes granted they resolved it again, but if I pay my bill on time, why should we have to go through [redacted] like this because straight talk is incompetentAnd of course they never offer to compensate or extend your billing cycle or anything This is ridiculousGet it together straight talk!!!!

I hate Straight TalkIt is the most annoying companyIt was fine until they stopped supporting 2g phonesThey sent us a "smart phone" that is everything butMy mom has been having trouble with picture messages of receiving and sending them sinceWe had the phone for a bout months and my screen stopped workingWe called and they said they would send a box for me to send that one and once they got it, they would send a new oneIn the meantime I went out and just got one of the $phones they have because I needed something in case work calledThat was a complete nightmareI accidentally transferred my moms phone to this one and couldn't transfer back because of the SIM card policy they haveOnce you deactivate one phone, that SIM card will stop workingSo I called and they said they can not do anything about it besides send new SIM cardsThat took about weeks to show upWell, my mom bought me another $phone until the SIM cards cameMy significant other was on the phone for hours trying to get it to workFirst off, the first guy was in another country and didn't speak good EnglishSecond off, he was transferred to other people before it had workedThe next day it stopped working and had to be on the phone another hoursThe person said we would be getting free days of service, that was clearly a lieThen, my phone came in the mail and yet another hours to get it set upBy the way, mom still has problems with the picture messages in this time frame and to this dayNow, my phone will not ring when someone text message meAnd, I can not receive or send picture messagesWe are both unsatisfied with this company

It is rather hard to believe this business has an A+ for their businessIf I had the opportunity to explain in detail the amount of disgust I have with this business I wouldTheir lack of customer service and limited support system they have is beyond disappointingI was on hold and passed through so many customer service Supervisors and Senior Supervisors it was ridiculous Over a hour process to transfer my phone number that was accidently deactivate on their behalfMy number was connected to so many different accounts and businesses that I was desperate to stay on the phone to get my phone number backI would go back to my previous phone company of years in a heartbeat before letting them carelessly treat me and my business they way they have just didI had been hung up on numerous of times and was not taken serious with any of the customer service representativesHorrible Support Team....HORRIBLE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND UNPROFESSIONAL

At one point in time it was greatThis is not that point in timecustomer service is a joke and is basically comprised of a bunch of rude people telling you why them screwing you over is justified or making a million excuses for why your service quality has gone WAY DOWNthey throttle data back for streaming on apps such as YouTube and Netflix and fairly frequently screw you out of data claiming you have reached your limit even though both the phones data counter and third party apps show you have not come even close to reaching your limitPoor service and even Poorer customer service

I've been hour in the phone with them trying to figure out why they lower my speedI understand the cap on the data, but my phone shows megas used in days and they tell me I've used all my data (2,megas) and they won't reset my speed to normal

I am on day of trying to get a replacement phone from Straight Talk, yes days of, " call back tomorrow for your tracking number"!!! I've gotten nothing but excuse (LIE AFTER LIE!!) This has to be the WORST "CUSTOMER service EVER!!!!!! STOP reading a script!!!! Stop LYING to your customers!!! You used to be about the only prepaid phone out there!!! Not anymore!!!!! Won't be long and you'll be out of business!!!! When I bought my phone at WalMart I was told things like this would take 3-days, NOT 26+ days!!!! Oh, and gee, you won't charge me for the DAYS of this process!!!! Gee, now that's so generous of you!!! How about my twenty plus calls and time!!! AND I STILL don't have a replacement phone!!! And pass you off to someone else!!!! Transfer after transfer and NOTHING get resolved!!!!"

I am putting a neutral rating to thisI am going to provide EVERYONE with detailed information to be able to talk to an AMERICAN representative, not one in the PhilippinesCall (XXX)XXX-XXXX, ask the lady that answers to speak with someone in her buildingShe will take a few to get a free line, but it is soooooo worth the wait! After hours of being disrespected by the out of country call center, I explained EVERYTHING I went through with them to the U.Srep, and she comped me the days I am not able to use my phone, plus for all my troubles, she comped me an additional daysShe was so amazing, I wish I was able to have caught her namePlus she was also able to give me a more accurate day that my shipment is to be in my hands! I would highly recommend NOT calling the number on straight talk site, or their service cardsCall the Florida number I provided at the beginningA lot less stressful, and more caring customer service at the number I provided!

My phone has been messing up for the passed monthI've tried calling customer service so many times and I have been hung up on at least timesmy service has been saying searching and they tried to send me a new SIM card three times and said it would fix it but it didn't fix anything! They've tried contacting AT&T service but that didn't do anything eitherI've had my phone for almost years now and never had a problem with the phone until recentlyI bought my phone from straight talk for $and now they are telling me to buy a new phone and they can't help!!! Very unprofessional serviceMy husbands company pays for mine, my in laws and his co workers phones and we will be switching services now because of our experience!

This Company is a poor excuse for a business, the workers are disrespectful and even customer service reps are completely horrible, I Have always had high respect for Straight Talk until I had one on one experience with them and I am Completely disappointedI was even laugh at by a customer service rep and call a stupid B***
