Student Loan Aid Reviews (238)

Hi [redacted],On 1/20/2015 you left me a message, I called you back today 1/21 and I spoke with you and you told me you had filed a complaint with the Revdex.com this morning. Also you were wanting to cancel as you were already on your 2nd year of payments under a PSLF program with Fed Loan. And your...

program with Student Loan Aid was just a Payment Minimizer to get a lower payment.I explained to you the details of where you were in the consolidation and that it was 30 days from being finalized. As per our conversation, you are approved for a full refund, since it makes no sense to move you out of a PSLF program into a forbearance. This message is confirming your cancellation with the services of Student Loan Aid, as effective immediately your business with us has ended. And you are taken out of the billing cycle and our processors have stopped working on your file as of today, 1/21/2014.Also I have seen to proceeding with a refund of all drafts, that will be issued as a refund to you in a check. Please allow up to 7-10 business days for you to receive that. Also please let me know when you have that check cleared so we know your account has been settled. If you need to contact me you can reach me during normal business hours. Our hours of operation are 9am-6pm PST Monday - Friday--Regards,[redacted]Senior[redacted]Student Loan AidCompliance Dept:[redacted]Main line:[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I first made a complaint with Revdex.com and the complaint has been closed. The complaint was that Student Loan Aid took $350 out of my checking account, and were not following through with putting it back. It appears they made it look like they were going to return the money, but still have yet to do so. SLA emailed me back through Revdex.com saying they were going to correct the issue if I emailed them a copy of the emailed receipt I should have received when they removed the $350. I contacted them back informing them that I never received that email, but sent them a picture of my bank statement where the money is shown as being taken from my account. I was told on Monday October 20th that they were going to process the refund and I would receive it between 3-5 business days. I have yet to receive this refund, and it is Wednesday October 29th. I am pissed. I emailed [redacted] with SLA today informing them I have yet to receive the refund and that I would be contacting the Revdex.com again.Give me back my $350.
Regards,
[redacted]

I have already spoken to Mr. [redacted] and his concerns have all be addressed, We also issued him a full refund . [redacted] did send me a confirmation E-mail stating that upon receipt of the refund check he would contact the Revdex.com and let them know that the situation has been resolved.

To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you in advance for allowing us to address [redacted] (Client) concerns. We have completed a thorough review of her account and have determined we completed the Repayment Program Placement for Client accordingly. [redacted] had already completed her...

consolidation on her own. The payments she made to us were all part of her program placement. The reason for the delay was due to inability to access important student loan information per Client's request.
We couldn't access the information until Client finally agreed to assist us with that issue. We completed the IDR program placement for Client and agree to resolve her complaint by reimbursing her all 3 reoccurring payments totalling $237.34. Client agreed to the initial, non-refundable initial payment. I have included copies of the IDR application submitted on behalf of Client as Proof of Completed Services as well as the copy of the Credit Agreement necessary to complete and return for immediate processing of Client's refund.

We apologize for the delay and look forward to finalizing Client's refund as soon as the agreement is received.

Best,

Hi,I would like to state that the complaint I, [redacted], made against Student Loan Aid, has been rectified.[redacted]

Hi [redacted],
I became aware of your issue with default loan consolidation from the Revdex.com as of yesterday 10/16/2014.
I saw you had spoken with [redacted]. What I did is I followed up with him and what happened is at the time you had signed up to SLA, it was proven that clients in default and wage...

garnishment could have their loans consolidated.
Since then the guidelines have changed with default loans in garnishment. Because of those changes we've brought on more experienced processors who've been successful with loan rehabilitation programs of garnishment.

Ruben, one of our compliance managers here at SLA & [redacted] have been attempting to contact you because we've received notice stating your loans are not eligible for consolidation since they are in garnishment.

We have taken you out of the billing cycle and no further payments were taken out since a month ago.

Since you have been inconvenience because our inability to consolidate your loans. You are entitled to a full refund of all the payments you've made to SLA.

In addition to your refund we'd like to opportunity to see if we can still help you out of garnishment with the company garnishing your loans.
Let us know if you'd like us to do that for you.
I'm having that refund processed and sent out today, it may take up to 3-5 business days for you received that refund.

If you can let me know when you have received that check that would appreciated so we can close this compliant.

My direct line is [redacted]

Thank you,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I understand what was said, but this does not explain where my money is. None of the payments I made were applied to my student loans. Where is my money? I was told that I would pay for 10 years (120 months) and the remainder of my student loans would be forgiven. Nowhere did I read that my money would not be applied to my student loans for any reason. I was not contacted about providing income information. If I was, I would have done so. The same way I did in the past.

Hello [redacted] I have confirmation of when the checks were sent to Navient as well as check #s to confirm. I also did get the my processing department and you were approved for a IBR-income based repayment term. Can you give me a call anytime after 2:30 PST so that we can go over all of this, Thanks in advance.Well I called Navient and there are only records for 2 payments made after the consolidation. Even online there are only two payments made in their records. I am aware I was approved for IBR the issue was how you sm handled it by saying an amount due without saying what it was for. If navient has no record of your payment none was made on my behalf. I have the dates the checks were cashed and the check #'s also you can log on the the Navient online account so that you can verify the payments and when they were made. Well you have yet to share with me this information. I have logged into Navient there are no more than 2 payments made. So until you share with me and Navient does in fact agree other payments were made, I will still consider the money scammed from me. Can we set up a time for tomorrow that you will  be available to speak to me so that we can get this taken care of and resolved. I would really appreciate to hear from you soon. Thanks in advance. We have attempted to resolve this matter with Mr. [redacted] so that he can see the facts and how we did not scam him for any money but we did render services and get him approved for the correct program. We want to make sure that he is satisfied with the outcome of this situation and I have asked him more than once to call me so that we can address if but all he insist on is a full REFUND when we have the facts to prove that we have accomplished program placement for him as well as the loan consolidation. We do appreciate that you have given us the opportunity to respond to his complaint and hope that he calls us back so that we can address the rest of his concerns.   Best Regards.

Here’s the check numbers of those refunds for you:

Regarding this complaint, I received s message/email from Brittany that had an email from the company in my complaint. In that email from the company, they stated ([redacted] specifically) that I would be receiving a refund check for the over $500 I paid them and I would be taken out of the billing cycle effective 2/10/2015. I have NOT received a refund check and today the company sends me an email stating that my loan is past due because I didn't make the payment. Again, I was supposed to be out of the billing cycle. Please help, this is the seventh working day since I received the message.Sent from my iPhone

[redacted] Refund Revdex.com ID [redacted]

I got a message from the Revdex.com with [redacted]'s compliant, and I saw that [redacted], one of our compliance officers had spoken to the client as 10/10/2014 & 10/14/2014. However he was not the sales agent that had signed her up, that agent was...

[redacted].
I've checked with billing, we've already issued the client's refund of $250 back in early August when our accounts for issuing refunds were working fine. If the client can provide proof that the $250 refund was not received or had bounced out of her account then we'll correct that.
I have double checked with [redacted] from Accounting to make sure what we can refund her is the payment of $67.51 that was drafted on Sept 19th. We've issued that refund of $67.51 as of yesterday 11/4/2014.

[When I contacted this business initially, they said they had consolidated and taken over my loans, and the money I was paying them was going toward my consolidated loans. I contacted them numerous times to make additional payments toward the principal amount, so I could try to pay off my debt sooner. Every time I spoke with one of their reps, they told me it was not in my best interest to pay more, because it was a waste of money, as it would only be applied toward interest. They also stated that my debt would be forgiven in 25 years. How does this even make sense when they apparently never even had my loans...?? Furthermore, based on my knowledge regarding student loans/loan repayment, I dont even qualify for a loan forgiveness program. How can they make these promises when they never even had my loans!? I finally got another party involved to help me get a straight answer. The last time I contacted Student Loan Aid, the other party asked many relevant questions on my behalf in an attempt to elicit a straight answer from them. After their many contradictory responses and long awkward pauses (i.e., trying to avoid answering questions that would obviously reveal their scam), they finally revealed that they were not in fact the lender -it was Great Lakes. Since October 2014, I had been told by Student Loan Aid that they (i.e., SLA) had taken over my loans... Why would I ever have paid  Student Loan Aid if they never had my loans, especially since I wanted to pay on my principal amount? How does that make sense? When I contacted Great Lakes, they said my loans had accrued $1000.00 worth of interest, because Student Loan Aid never had my loans and were not using the money to make payments toward my loan -contrary to what they had told me. Also, Great Lakes said they consolidate loans for free and that many students have contacted them regarding the same scam and issues with Student Loan Aid. Basically, all the money I paid Student Loan Aid did not go to where I was told (I.e., paying my interest down). I was NOT SATISTISFIED in any way, shape, or form when I got off the phone with them. Their statement is completely false. My second party can attest to this, since she actually ended the phone call with Student Loan Aid.]

Ms. [redacted] (Client) retained our services on: February 3rd, 2016.Client was never requested upfront fees, the $751 client states we “asked for” were actually broken up initiation fees client was properly disclosed and informed about. Client signed a Service Agreement disclosing all services terms, conditions, and fees involved. Never was the client lied to about our managing/processing services. The forbearance client states we filed on her behalf was to avoid default while her student loan consolidation took place followed by a repayment plan/program placement. Client was thoroughly disclosed all of the above (recording is available if requested by legal counsel). Client spoke to my associate, [redacted], and agreed to continue with our services. When I, [redacted], personally called client to corroborate her agreement to continue services is when Client blocked all communication and was informed of this complaint the same day.As a way to resolve this issue, we agreed to reimburse Client service fees through her financial institution. We do have a copy of the signed Service Agreement which could have been utilized as a way to show for the legitimate transaction Client agreed to including all involved fees associated with our services. We do apologize if the Client has been inconvenienced but strongly recommend Client to fully read any/all Service Agreements before hiring ANY type of services in the future. Best regards, [redacted]Retention Dept Manager
