I signed on for an Amazon credit card just to save $or so on an item and to watch Amazon streaming videos, little realizing that this would create a relationship with a bank that has been nothing but trouble Even trying to pay off and close the account has involved hours of phone torment trying to reach a live person, being transferred BACK to their ridiculous phone tree, finally getting another live person who drops the call and on an on down a tunnel of anger and despair until today when I finally reached poor Steve Walter who had to take the brunt of my anger Oh please just tell me it's over and I will never never never deal with Synchrony again And, yes, I will write Amazon also

This is a terrible organization!! I recently opened a Walmart Master Card through them and have tried to get my initial credit line increased somewhat I spend thousands of dollars per yrwith Walmart & Sam's Club and have perfect credit and several major bank cards Upon calling their toll free phone bank # times, I was told I could not submit new credit infoto increase my line, no remedy or person of authority and simply told to call back in 4-months and maybe they can look at it then What a way to run a business? Walmart should look for a new credit card company!

Well, I can't even get them to give me my cardI have called them three times and verified my information with them, and each time it's been wrongThree weeks after the last call, and I still don't have my cardI know that they're assessing late fees on my account because I can't log in to pay my account until I receive the cardIt's been over three months and still no resolutionI already hate this place, and I haven't even seen my account yet

My review will sound like a broken record, I recently paid a substancial amount on my credit cards with synchrony bank and a couple of them were paid in full....to show their appreciation to a good customer with good payment history, they closed my paid off accounts and made the balance on the ones I made large payments on my new credit limit so now it appears my credit cards are maxed out (even though I just paid them half off)This has had a large effect on my credits Score and their ability to penalize people for paying their bills on time is unbelievable.I will never do business with them ever again

I have several cards under Synchrony Bank and am consider cancelling all cardsI paid off one card on my paypal credit card and the day I paid it off they took my credit down from To I paid my Sams credit card on time and its on a automatic paymentThey charged my account on the 10th of January and again on the 12th of JanuaryThe received the payment on the 10th and caused my account to go into overdraft on the 12thI called and they told me I authorized the 2nd paymentI DID NOTThey penalized me for the overdraft and closed my account for no reasonI paid on my Walmart card on the due date in Nov and they tacked a late charge on the same dayI had to call to correct that and make the payment in the storeI hate this bank and do not like they way they do businessNo wonder you have complaints

They spent YEARS trying to sell me their credit card via Amazon After I agreed - they made hard inquiry, got all information (excellent rating), and then rejected application because of "we are unable to confirm your identity with enough confidence" They are insaneTried to communicate to manager which was absolutely unprofessional IMHO God saved me from the great troubles with !@#$% by this rejection

So, my wife and I already have two accounts with Synchrony, Sam's Club, and Ashley's Furniture Both have no missed payments, no problems, all in great standing I personally have below average credit I have been building my credit however the past few years, and all my new stuff is up to date Showing great improvements I tried to apply for an Amazon Store Card, and got denied immediately, after reading everywhere that people have gotten approved with scores less than mine I also have a decently high income So I called their customer service, as some people recommended to talk to their credit reconsideration line I verified all my information, to a very rude agent, and trying to explain to him my income, my credit situations, etc Nope, he just robotically said "You'll get a letter in the mail in to business days to explain why you were denied" Once my other stuff with them is paid off, I'm just never going to use them anymore They will sit dormant Why can't these kinds of places play fair? Do not even try to deal with this bank unless you are perfect

We opened a line of credit account to have carpeting put in our house We were offered months of 0% financing Great My first bill was for the entire amount of credit we were approved for, and not what we actually spent I contacted the retailer [redacted] and they rectified that problem When I received the second bill, I tried to register online so I could manage my account After entering all my information, and having Syncrony acknowledge I was a customer, I was not able to create the online account with them There was a system error message I called, went through their awful automated system and finally got someone in India While they were very polite, they were not able to resolve the issue I have since tried several times to no avail and I have spoken to many a polite CSR, who are useless I have had to call to pay my bill via the telephone for the past months This is ridiculous Obviously this is an effort to have late payment charges, and to be able to charge the interest I was supposed to be free of for months Steer clear of this bank

I have a loan threw themWorse idea everI pay my payment a day early, then a week later they call me saying I never paved itTryed it again and they hit me up for late feesSo the third time they called the guy was rude and was asking where I kept my ATV at (why I got the loan) so long story short I can't even make my first payment

I have recently had several negative interactions with synchrony bankUnfortunately most if the store credit cards I have were purchased by themWhile I did miss a few payments I understood them lowering my credit limits on those cardsI recently lost a job and fell behind a few monthsI have sense caught up completely and paid most of them offThe one that pushed me over the edge is AmazonI love Amazon and use them quite frequentlyMy card there had a small limit of $I believe and it definitely helped them when I had an impulse to buy something I probably didn't needAlthough it was completely paid off I received a letter today stating that "due to my "POOR" credit rating my account has been terminated" I have contacted both the bank and Amazon with no positive result so I unfortunately am going to cancel all accounts (including Amazon Prime) and discontinue shopping at any store affiliated in any way Synchrony bankI am sure that alone this will in no way affect these entities but is enough customers disappear someone will noticeI consider myself a good, honest, hard working family man that pays my bills and does whatever it takes to raise my family but bad things happen to the best of us!

I do not know who is running this company because he is a fool and the worst fool ever, where did he get his business degreeThis fool is losing money for every companies they collect for, he must be working for the competitionI have been with JCPenny for decades and all of sudden I received a letter cancelling my account and just yesterday I received one from HHGREGG lowering my credit limit and that is only because I still have balance left I am looking into a lawsuitIf anyone is interested in coming together to fight this company SYNCHRONY BANKI can be reached at [redacted] XXXXX

OMG the worst customer service EVER! I just recently signed up for Care credit card for my dog veterinary service and AMAZON PRIME store cardIm trying to go online and sign up for the online site so that I can manage payments and view statementHowever, they have my REALLY old phone number on file (I don't even know where they got it from) and keeps wanting to send text verification to my old phoneMy only other option to sort this is to call customer service and they are not knowledgeable keeps putting me on hold for hour to a point where I get exhausted and just end up hanging upI called the number on back of the AMAZON credit card and they are forcing me to listen to survey and advertising and won't let me bypass it and keep going from one ad to anotherIt's TERRIBLE!

I as well have a cards with this bankI always make sure my payments are made and even pay extra and they lower my credit limit because they say my credit score droppedREALLY!!!! I made a mobile deposit of $on July and received an email on July stating that the photo was unacceptable and the dp was declinedThis delay is inappropriate It makes mobile deposits unusable for meMy other bank instantaneously informs me if the dp went through or if I need to retake the photo

Synchrony Bank Formerly GE Capital has taken over several of my store and credit cards. I randomly received a letter in the mail saying that they closed my Banana Republic Account. The account has been paid off and I have had this credit card since the 90's when I first started my professional career. The letter was vague and at first I thought it was a scam. I called them and I got a nasty rep on the phone who acted like she was completely put out by my phone call. I asked her why my account was closed and explained that I was never late nor am I carrying a balance. She told me that they could close accounts whenever they wanted and that I would get a letter in the mail. I pushed for an explanation and she told me that I have not used the card so they closed it. I was shocked and asked if they could really do that just because I haven't used the card in awhile? She answered nastily "Yes we could do that!" I use this card to buy gifts every now and again, as well as cloths, etc. when I need to. Just because I pay my balance in full and didn't use it in awhile, they just close my account??? Fast forward to my second experience with this shady so-called bank. I have a paypal smart connect card that I have also had forever. My credit line was 1800 forever. I had bought some stuff online for my wedding. I am getting married in 3 months. I decided to pay 1K and then another $150 so that I could have some credit to buy some items online using paypal. I called them to confirm my payment. I still carried a balance of 600 that I was going to pay off next week. I pay my bill ontime. So I had credit of $1200 - hooray I could order some stuff from Etsy, etc. Well no. I went to buy something and my card was declined. I called them and they told me that my credit line was reduced to 900, and since I had a pending charge on the card, I had no credit left to use. They transferred me to their underwriter that told me that I would get a letter in the mail about why my "credit line increase" was declined. I don't want a credit line increase - I just want to get my credit back that I had for years and years. I just want to be able to use my paypal card for my wedding. They not only didn't help at all, but who the [redacted] reducues a credit line randomly after you pay the card. Shady and stupid. Had I known they were going to do this with no explanation, I would never have paid that much money on it. I could use that money for my wedding stuff! I am done with them. I am closing all my accounts with them. I hope the stores get wise and cut this foreign bank off. Coupons, points, discounts, nothing matters if you have to deal with this bank. Close your accounts.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was forced to declare bankruptcyPrior to this, I have had multiple credit cards, all paid on time and many with zero balancesI made absolutely sure to have my Synchrony Bank cards NOT listed on the bankruptcyMuch to my surprise, ALL of my accounts were closed with no notice or reason A call to customer service and speaking with"***" who stated it was the policy of the bank to close all accounts listed in a bankruptcyI explained that these cards had had zero balances for months prior to my filing and that my attorney made sure not to list themHowever, after YEARS, I can apply for another Old Navy, Amazon and JC Penney card Yea, I don't think so

Synchrony bank started the installation of a new login for online accounts ( of course the bank is only an online bank so...)This started June 10th, it is now June 18th and the process is still continuingFor an online bank the modification of a feature on the website at best should be seamless, this transition is the worst I have seen in yearsI have to call, wait for ten minutes or more just to find out if my money is still there I hope that they resolve the issue soon
