Very polite and complimentary while on the phoneI should not have fallen for the scam but the salesperson was a very good manipulator and I didn't really know what happened until it was overI tried on multiple occasions and through several avenues to contact the company with in hours after the purchase and as you probably have guessed, to no availThe phone number lead me down a maze of recordings, electronic transfers, and loops back to previous recordingsI have received no response from emailsI received a package with a plastic card with my name imprinted similar to a hotel room key or a credit card and a paper certificate with my name printed on itThe invoice included a message stating there are no refunds because the product has been personalizedIf I am ever allowed to actually negotiate a resolution to this ridiculous situation I plan to offer fair market value for the personalization of the plastic card and paper certificate in return for the remainder of the funds I paid, (over $200.00.) Please take my advice and "buyer beware."

This is such a scam. I joined, paid the initiation fee, and then was charged over a $1,000 for books I never agreed to pay for. When called and asked to refund that money and cancel my membership and refused. I told them I would never agree to such an amount for books. They told me they'd pull the phone call and prove I authorized the call. I called my credit card company, disputed the charge, blocked them for accessing my card and filed a complaint with the BBB.

I had a very bad experience with this"organization" today. In my opinion, I do not believe they are a legitimate or accredited honor society. After almost an hour of listening to compliments about my excellent achievements in nursing, and giving them my phone number, email and the name of the college that I graduated from, they then told me that they were a publishing company. They started out asking for over $700 to join...then &500..then $300. When I told them I never buy anything over the phone without researching first, the saleswoman told me that I certainly could afford $189. She refused to send any info to me by email and told me I had to pay immediately as she had a publishing deadline. Really? Were they publishing the book this afternoon. In my opinion, any company that wants my credit card information over the phone, but refuses to send me anything in writing smells like a scam to me. Also, what credentials to they have to decide who is a top nurse and who is not. I wonder if they "honor" everyone who pays. I called the number listed on their website to complain about those types of sales tactics and I was told they have 100,000 satisfied nurses. Yet the web is filled with pages and pages of complaints against them. Hmmm. Something seems wrong here.

You say the same thing over and over again. I got the call. All these complaints add up to everything I experienced today. If we are so called being recognized for out achievments way are we having to pay? Who is supposedly nominating is nurses for this? When I asked this question I got a round about answer! We work hard and don't get paid the greatest! I'm not as arrogant as to pay 700.00 to your so called organization to be in some magazine I've never heard of or have ever seen. Shame on you for making nurses actually feel like we are appreciated then slam is with a rediculous fee. What a terrible thing to do to people!

I was first contacted by the INA through [redacted]. I then received a phone call that was initially very pleasant, asking for my background in nursing, etc. The person requesting information was very flattering and supportive during the call. Then the high pressure sales pitch started. He first offered me a $789 "Platium" membership, plus $30 a month the be listed in the book. Then a $589 "silver" membership, plus $30 a month. When I told him I was not interested at this time the pressure increased. He then said they have a "gold" level for $389, plus $30 a month. He said, "[redacted]." I informed him that I have not agreed to anything. That a professional nursing organization would never use high pressure sales tactics like this and that I was hanging up now, and do not wish to be contacted again. It is horrible that anyone would seek to exploint the nurses that care for the people in our country. This "business" shouts of scam.

Please be advised that [redacted]' additional concerns were addressed and a further resolution was reached.  All adjustments were made accordingly. Kathleen S[redacted]The International Nurses Association

This organization does a great job of baiting you in, asking for professional insight and congratulating you on your 'accomplishments', then finally expecting you to pay minimum monthly fees in addition to other fees. They continued to contact me, even at my place of employment when I wouldn't answer my cell phone, in order to secure payment from me. I asked to please remove me from their phone list and to please stop considering me for "the honor" they wished to bestow upon me by adding my name to their "prestigious" organization. An organization that I hadn't done my home work on, but now that I have don't waste your time.
