On Feb 17, 2015, this prospective client, [redacted] left acredit card deposit with Thrift Auto Sales to begin working on a loanapplication for the purchase of a 2013 Land Rover Range Rover. This was afterseveral weeks of indecisiveness demonstrated by [redacted] didnot agree to...

the price and/or terms and extended the negotiations topurchase the vehicle. He did not sign and return the purchase and loandocuments for the vehicle. As of Feb 24, 2015, a full 7 days from the originaldeposit date, Thrift Auto Sales still did not possess signed purchase documentsfrom [redacted] And [redacted] had also not remitted the balance of theproposed $6,000 down payment. Thrift Auto Sales elected not to continue holdinga nearly $100,000 vehicle without a firm, signed commitment from [redacted] deposit was fully refunded and the vehicle was subsequently sold toanother buyer. In summary, no purchase or sale transaction was ever finalized between [redacted] and Thrift Auto Sales. Please consider [redacted] complaint to be irresponsible and without merit and dismiss it outright.

I am not clear on the exact issue.  You said there were hidden fees but you said you purchased a warranty in addition to the car.  There are also taxes and registration and documentary fees that add to the sales price.  The warranty has been activated and there is a warranty on the...

car.  Now that this has been addressed what is the current situation that needs to be addressed.  In regards to the dealer guaranteeing condition of the mechanical problems after sale.  IN the state of NJ any car 7 years or older at time of sale is considered as is legally.  Do you have anything in writing at the time of sale that represented an after sale promise of repair by the dealership?  THank you.

It was a Dirty deal, the money was returned but only because my husband had to take a police office there to get them to reverse the transaction the day after the sale/purchase! They have no integrity it is all about dirty deals!!!

I got the message from [redacted] one of your sale mgr. however I sent a copy ofyour reply to Better Business you stated you were going to take care of thiscar, not make a offer. I sent this reply of your of what you stated to thebetter business to the Sale Mgr [redacted] showing him that what you offer is notacceptable base this was not what you stated to the Revdex.com organization.1: Now the part that was damaged before I got this car is on you and it needto be repaired that the right side bottom was damaged by whoever took it offthe your truck when it was brought back from the repair shop. This first tobe done and it has nothing to do with the other damages. Don't have a pricefor this part2. The person who repairs your cars it is cheaper for you to get this repairdone because you pay wholesale prices instead of retail prices for repair.Sothe small repairs that needs to be done is because I was reassured that thiswould pass inspection without no problem, when I had it inspected the nextday by [redacted] dealership in Princeton Nj they told me what was soobliviously w[redacted]g with the car and these things would fail when a Carinspection was done. I have left many VM and send emails, however I havegotten a run around from the dealership and no one has taken the ownership toresolve the issue. Thrift helped me finally achieve my goals of financing and paying off a beautiful 2012 BMW 5-Series. I haven't been able to find the right car for me and for the right price in a long long time, but Thrift Auto went above and beyond in making sure I left a happy customer. I was referred to this dealership by a friend and took a chance on diving into their vast inventory... Certainly don't regret it now! Thanks so much for all your help! Will definitely come back in a few years for my next car.

Review: On March 16, 2015, I purchased a 2012, Mercedes Benz 350 at Thrift Auto Sales. I was informed that the warranty that I purchased for $3,780.00 consisted of 100,000 miles and it would take affect after the manufactures warranty.

I was in their sales department for 9 hours and had become very overwhelmed and tired and therefore did not notice that the contract read different from what I was told. Once I arrived home and read the warranty the terms stated good for 2 years , effective date March 16, 2015. My manufactures warranty at time of purchase was good for the next 14 months. The $3,780.00 was included in that financing. I called the next day, March 17th and spoke with the manager, [redacted] and informed him that I wanted to cancel the warranty. Mr Rodrigues attempted to convince me not to cancel but I insisted I wanted to cancel. Mr. Rodrigues stated he would call me back before close of business and never did.

I returned to the dealership on Monday, April 6th because My temporary plates had expired, I never received my registration and plates. At that time I expressed to the manager that my warranty was not cancelled. I was told by the finance personnel, [redacted] that I could not cancel the warranty. He took my warranty contact and changed the effective date to read ;"effective when original manufactures warranty expires. He altered the original contract. I called Auto Source the warranty company and was told that Thrift Auto Sales had to cancel the warranty. I sent an email to the manager David on April 6th and to date no response. I spoke with Carlos on Friday, April 10th and again expressed my concerns and he stated he would get back to me.

I contacted the NJ state consumers affairs and discovered that they currently have 50 open complaints. I would appreciate it if you can resolve this issue.

I am rejecting this response because:I am not clear what the response it stating. The terms that the dealership stated that the warranty consisted of is not what I received. Is the response stating that they will cancel the warranty? I contacted the dealership on Friday because I discovered that they did not pay off the car loan for the Jaguar that I traded in to them. The bank contacted me stating that my son was delinquent in the monthly car note. I spoke with the owner on Friday and he stated that he would resolve all my issues on Monday, April 20th. I will keep you abreast if the warranty issue and paying off the 20,000 car note has been resolved.

Review: Regarding Dirty Sales Practice and theft of Bank Account funds - They agreed to the sale of a 2012 Mercedes Benz to us and agreed that it would be ready to pick up by 4pm the next day, there was a wire transfer sent to their business for the total amount of purchase, we the cunsumer did our part in paying Thrift Auto Sales but before pick-up of this vehicle they had sold it to someone else although we had already purchased it. At this point we have not received a refund for this purchase back into our account which was a substancial amount of money in the thousands. I am filing this complaint to see to it, that the public knows and are aware of this business and their Dirty Sales Practice. I also want to know what I can Do about this myself, I want our Money back ASAP from this theives? This customer sent a wire to thrift auto sales which was rejected by our PNC Bank and forwarded back to the customer by the wire department instantly. In addition the reason this happened was because there was never a purchase order created nor a deal finalized for an agreed amount. Review: I financed a used vehicle from Thrift Auto Sales 7/25. I was promised by the dealer verbally and in written before I purchased the car that the following repairs would be taken care of before I picked up the car. On top of the repairs not completed when I arrived to picked up my car it was dirty and had trash in it. I was promised it would be detailed and ready when I arrived . I had to go back the next day to have it detailed.The following Issues- the trunk wouldn't opened and closed and dents and scratches. The dealer provided a OWE in written that it would be taken care of. The dealer attempted to repair the trunk but the repair was not completed. Now I'm being told the mechanic lost the part and had to re order it. I've been dealing with this unprofessional dealership since July and its now September. I'm not asking for much I just want the repairs which I was promised done asap so that I don't have to deal with this dealership ever again in my life. This dealership is the worst in the world. I've requested countless of times for the owner name [redacted] to call me but he doesn't seem to care about his customers. I called over the weekend requesting to talk to Mr. [redacted] and several of times his unprofessional staff hung up on me.[redacted] only directs my concerns to Winter whom handles vehicle repairs. Winter only responds to me when he feels like it. I really don't know how this dealership stays in business.. My point proven that Thrift auto sales is so unorganized the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. [redacted] what part are you referring to that was ordered? Due to no response from Thrift auto sales, I contact [redacted] from the the repair center and scheduled the service repair myself. I was informed by the mechanic that they weren't waiting on a part and to stop by. The trunk was repaired and is working fine. The only repairs that need to taken care of now are the scratches and dents. I would like a appointment date and time when the repair will be completed then I will be satisfied.

I will only accepted there response under these circumstances. I need appointments dates and times when the dents and scratches will be taken care of from a license auto repair center. I do not trust Thrift auto sales and their shady business practice. As of today I still have not received a call or apology from Thrift auto sales.

Review: I purchased a car that I still have not received. I went in to fill out the necessary paperwork and was told I could drive it home that evening. They proceeded to take my money and since they do not file the registration and plates, I would have to do that. They gave me the Title to the car and when I went to Motor Vehicles the next morning, the Title had my name misspelled and the wrong driver's license number. I went back to the dealer, and was informed that they would take care of that for me. The car was still not detailed, and I cannot afford to be out this much money. I am asking for a full refund since I do not have the vehicle in my possession. I am told I am guaranteed a 90 day money back guarantee but this dealership sounds very deceitful, and I honestly do not think they will refund my full purchase.Desired Settlement: I would like the full refund amount of $4,457.00.

This customers deposit has been fully refunded. There were a few technical errors that led to the delay in refund.

Review: The company sold me an optional Insurance. (AKA GAP coverage). I decited to cancel the insurance within allowed time and received a letter from the Insurance company (Zurich insurance) that my notice has been processed and that Thrift auto will be sending a refund to my Bank who financed the car within 45 days. 4 months has passed, and Thrift auto has NOT sent the refund. I have called over 20 times, that has been given "runarounds". last month I was told by the processing clerk--Igor, that the check is on his desk and he is mailing it out to. The month has passed, and the check has not arrived. I keep calling multiple times, but the receptionist just keeps transfering me to the voice mails. Both managers, [redacted], and [redacted], were no help as they also jsut keep avoiding me, and keep blindly transfering me to the clerk. I feel that Thrift Auto is avoiding the situation, and refusing to refund the entitled money to the customer.Desired Settlement: I need Thrift auto to refund the money thats owed to me.

Review: I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on 6/22/2015. This dealership has overcharged me with the fictitious fees such as window etch. I was charged $798 document fees and $263.94 window etch fee. I didn't ask for the window etch and the windows of the car do not have any etching on them. Basically this dealership has robbed me of $661.94 which they owe me at this point. I have tried many times to contact them but they have been giving me a run around. You get better customer service at Burger King. I purchased a 34K vehicle and this dealership has no concept of customer service.

They have overcharged me and rushed me to sign the papers without explaining the fee structure and reason behind the $1061.94 in fees which I paid on the purchase.Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund $661.94 which includes the part of the document fee and window etch fee.

Review: On April 15, 2013 I stopped in their dealership and filled out a credit application, left a deposit for a certain vehicle with the understanding that IT was ONLY a deposit. Was told that in the event I AM NOT approved the monies will be refunded right away. My credit application was sent to over 10 creditors. I was under the impression they were only going to try 3 banks. They sent my credit application to so many creditors that it lower my credit score by 100 points. On Monday, April 30, 2013 I called them 5 times. FINALLY at the 5th call [redacted], the Manager picks up and tells my - "I thought you were approved, let me speak to my fiancé guy and I will get back to you". I don't him that this was unacceptable and that I want my refund back. I didn't hear from anyone for 2 weeks and then he told me "We will send your refund today Monday April 30th." I called on May 1st, May 2nd and today May 3rd to confirm that the check went out,, but [redacted] is never available and he is the only person that can confirm that the check went out. THIS IS WHAT THE TELL ME AFTER # WEEKS! TODAY is May 3, 2013 and after they ran my credit r 15 times I still cannot get me deposit refunded. NO one returns my calls. On Monday,
