Tour to a coffee farm
This tour was really interesting. The guide collected us from our hotel at the allocated time. During the drive to the farm he pointed out places of interest & gave us some insight into the history of Sao Paulo. Despite the rainy weather we managed to walk around & see a lot of the area as well as some of the coffee plantations. The lunch provided was delicious.
I have used Tours By Locals for approximately 4 years, more than 20 guides. Always top notch. Most recent requirement was in Mumbai India. Ader was the best guide we had on our 23 day trip. Knowledgeable, communicates well, and really knows Mumbai and the various Indian cultures. Absolutely no surprises and we all greatly enjoyed our day with Ader. He provided all services required from pick-up at the port, tending to our luggage, and drop off at the Mumbai airport. I highly recommend him to all who are traveling thru Mumbai and require a guide.

Daniel arrived early, was very accommodating and friendly for the whole day. He offered a ton of great historical, geographical, and cultural info including a great notebook that he brought with maps and other pictures/info to help us learn so much about the area. We enjoyed our late lunch with a Mayan family in the outskirts of the Coba site. We ate at their home and toured their small farm. Definitely recommend Daniel for English, Spanish and German language tours. He was a safe, courteous driver.
The ToursByLocals.com tours we took with Christina were superb! We toured Athens and Aegina Island. Our ages ranged from 20 to 54 and Christina was able to easily span our interests and conversations. Christina gave us much background on history of Greece. We laughed, stretched our culinary tastes, freshest pistachios ever, kept us going, yet was relaxed enough pace that we were able to take the time to really enjoy the sites! Well, how good would you expect a tour to be if it were given by an affable, delightful, architect who worked for the City Planning commission for a decade? Needless to say, he knew the city like the back of his hand and took us on a walking tour of the historic and surrounding neighborhoods of Philly, giving us food tips, touring tips, taking us on tours, walking down 300 year old streets and really getting the feel of Old Philadelphia. Stellar guide--Jeremy was the best!
Eugenie is smart, informative and amusing. We booked her on short notice and she did not disappoint. Our tour of Notre Dame was excellent as well as our walking tour taking in the Jardin de Luxembourg, Saint Sulpice church and even a stop at the delicious Pierre Hermes macaroon palace!
My aunt and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Jonas V. to the Prehispanic pyramids of Teotihuacan! He is a true professional yet being with him is like you are visiting a friend who is showing you his neighborhood! He is punctual, always accessible by email or by phone and speaks perfect English. His transportation vehicle is new and comfortable.
We LOVED our private tour with Jonas V. for many reasons but above all it was his love, passion and knowledge of Mexico and it's culture and people which truly made our experience more than we could have expected. He explained the history of the sites we visited in a way that opened discussion for many related topics.....it was obvious that Jonas does not deliver his tours by rote. He offers a wonderful alternative of meaningful and active learning in his tour. He was open to questions and eager to share his vast knowledge of the sites we visited. One of my fondest memories of our tour, and a fine example of his great sense of humor, is the physical demonstration I got after asking a question related to a ritual ball game played . I had asked why it was so important that the inhabitants used their hips during the game......Jonas thoughtfully considered the question for a moment, cleared a small area next to where we were standing, and proceeded to physically demonstrate the action by sliding across the ground to illustrate the need of hitting the ball with one's hip in order to keep the ball aloft while playing this ancient game!!!!!!!
Jonas never hurried us ....he kept the agenda moving forward..not because he had a finish time for the day in mind but because he wanted us to experience everything that he had planned for us before the day ended!!!! He wanted us to have the FULL experience!
If you are going to the Pyramids, day tours in Mexico or extended holidays in Mexico I can't imagine doing it with anyone else other than Jonas V.
Francesc is an exceptionable guide. Not only is he very knowledgeable about Barcelona's Jewish history, but he is engaging, flexible and obliging. His use of an iPad really brought the history and images from the past to life for us. We had a wonderful morning with him and cannot recommend him more highly.
