Trans Van Lines Reviews (%countItem)

My parents used this company and it's a total scam. They hit you with fee after fee and the price more than doubled after the initial quote. Buyer BEWARE. They will take advantage of you and prey on the elderly.

Trans Van didn't show up for pickup during the hours we agreed to at 9am. They said somehow I was taking off of pickup list. Dont know when they will
April 25th 2019 didn't receive call for pickup. Called TransVan they stated some how I was taking off if the schedule. We agreed that they would bre at thg free pick up location on April 25th between 7am and 9am. Spoke to customers service they stated they didn't know what was going on. Then they figured it out and ask if they can come on April 26th. I said no because I have to hop on a flflight. Then they arrived around 1245pm. They only gave me $25 off for inconvenience. I had a regional meeting to attend at 130 and was unable to go. They stated they would deliver my items on April 29th or 30th. I called them and they stated they dont have a delivery date for me. So unprofessional. I called again May2nd still no delivery date. Today is May3rd still no delivery is set. They lied to me and Customer service was horrible. I spent $1983 and not once anyone is trying to fix the issue at hand
They dont have a delivery date. I had to go shopping and buy all new work clothes, pots and pans and kitchen and bathroom appliances. All they have to move is boxes no furniture. I dont understand how they dont have a delivery date and in the beginning didnt have me on the pickup schedule and then shows up late. Horrible customer service and service of the promise they give for delivery my order number is #XXXXXX. I need a discount for my inconvenience

Desired Outcome

I ne to be reimbursed for this horrible service. Its been 1 week and they dont have a delivery date

Trans Van Lines Response • May 30, 2019

We have reviewed the Consumer complaint filed by *** against Trans Van Lines, for late pick-up and pending delivery.

We have confirmed that Consumer hired Business to perform a Long Distance move from IL-AL, commencing on 4/25/19. There was a slight delay in the pick-up, but Trans did complete the pickup on the agreed date & provided Consumer with a $25 adjustment for this several hour delay in the interest of good will. At pick-up Consumer specified her First Available Delivery Date as 4/29/19, and therefore the 10 business day delivery range she agreed to in her estimate & moving documents, was 4/29-5/10/19. Delivery was completed within that range, therefore no delay occurred.

Based on the above, at this time Consumer has received an adjustment for the few hours delay at pick-up & delivery has been completed. As such, no further compensation is due her & we respectfully request that this complaint be closed as SETTLED. Thank you.

The moving company is holding my belongings hostage and demanding payment via wire transfer. They forged my signature on Bill of lading.
I had hired Trans Van lines to transport my belongings from 1830 Spring Pond Point,Winter Springs, Fl 32708 to 3731 Valerie Carol Ct, Ellicott City, MD 21042. My order number is TV417143. The estimate provided by Trans Van lines on 4/2/19 was for a maximum of 1000 cubic feet, with a rate of $4.50 per cubic feet and the total amount billed was $3500 after the discount that the company offered. There was a clause in the contract that if my belongings are less than 1000 cubic feet (200 cubit feet minimum), the total amount would be adjusted accordingly and if my belongings were more than 1000 cubic feet, I would have to pay the additional cost. I had paid $400 with my credit card as a pre payment, and was supposed to pay 70% of the total cost at the time of pick up. There was a disagreement between me and the driver about the actual volume of my belongings and what the driver claimed. The driver claimed that my belongings were a full 1000 cubic feet, without actually measuring it.My husband had come from Philadelphia to help me with the move. According to my husband's measurement, our belongings were less than 800 cubic feet. We were also willing to remove some belongings to reduce the volume and thus reducing our cost. However the driver and the general manager of the company continued to claim that since I signed a contract for 1000 cubic feet, I have to pay for the full 1000 cubic feet. While my husband and I were trying to resolve this dispute with help from our friends who arrived on the scene, the driver drove away with all my belongings in the truck, without my consent and without providing me a list of the goods loaded on the truck. Trans Van lines is now holding our goods hostage and asking full payment via wire transfer before scheduling delivery of my belongings. My husband and I have made several attempts to contact the company's customer service and the general manager, Avi. The manager has finally stated that now our belongings in the warehouse. Per my request, Trans Van Lines has emailed me a PDF copy of the Bill of lading which I should have received at the time of pick up. I have noticed that someone from Trans Van Lines has forged my signature on the Bill of Lading and on Long distance form. Despite several attempts from me and my husband to resolve this with Trans Van Lines in a fair manner , Trans Van Lines is refusing to co operate and is unwilling to participate in an arbitration. I have filed a Police report with Davie Police department, regarding forgery of my signature on the Bill of Lading. Trans Van lines is asking me to pay $3,225.00 via wire transfer or using Zelle before scheduling delivery of my goods. They are adding $25 charge every day for storage if we do not pay the money. They are even threatening to auction my belongings if I do not pay the amount. Since I do not trust this company anymore, I do not feel safe and comfortable with sending money to this company via wire transfer. I am concerned that they will take the money and not deliver my goods. I am willing to pay the money to TransVanLines and get my belongings back, however I prefer to pay using a more secure method and make sure that I am guaranteed to get my belongings back.

Desired Outcome

Adjust the total cost according to the volume, accept payment by credit card and to make sure that I receive my belongings once I pay the total amount. Remove $25 charge for daily storage.

The company delivered my bed frame cracked and my tv smashed. I submitted the insurance claim in August. They will not return my calls.
My items were delivered in June 2018. The bed was put together and the movers didn't mention that they had cracked every single support beam. They also left a tv unwrapped. When I unwrapped it- it was completely smashed. I reached out and after a little back and forth finally obtained a claim form. I submitted the form along with all the required evidence back in August. By November, I hadn't heard back so I reached out and was informed that they had up to 120 days to respond. I was patient during December as I know mail was delayed due to holidays. At the end of December, I was told that my account was archived. They would have to send for the records which could take two weeks. I have called back multiple times and even spoke to management. They are now completely avoiding returning my calls and will not give me an update.

Desired Outcome

I would like the money I am owed from my damaged property that per the contract is supposed to be covered. My items were not broken when they left IL and arrived in CA destroyed. I have fulfilled my end of the requirements, now they need to fulfill theirs.

Desired Outcome

I WANT THE FUEL CHARGE REIMBURSED-THIS IS SOMETHING I PAID AND DID NOT USE OR RECEIVE AND ALL THE EXTRA PACKING THAT WAS UNNECESSARY 3 GIANT BOXES FOR COUCH AND LOVE SEAT CUSHIONS,SINCE I PAID FOR THEM ALREADY AND "***" THEIR SALESMAN (WHO LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING) HE PUT I HAD 30 GALLON RUBBER MAIDS,WHEN THEY WERE 20 GALLON,WHICH HIS 30 BROUGHT UP MY COST BECAUSE OF SPACE.THE DAY OF MOVE I CALLED HIM AND EMAILED HE WOULD NOT RESPOND

Was charged for packing materials that weren't used and many items damaged. Can't file claim or communicate with company for refund.
I had a contract# tv XXXXXX with Transvan Lines negotiated with ***, to move items from my Condo at *** in Miami XXXXX to my new home at *** Tranquilla *** XXXXX . An onsite inspection and inventory was done in November 2018 and quote presented. After this onsite inspection and inventory I paid a deposit on November 30th by Amex for $400, and movers arrived on December 10th as scheduled. I paid an additional $2,533 in cash before packing could start. Not as scheduled it took two days to pack my items and I was asked to sit down several times to go over inventory list on first day and go down and view truck and space I would use on truck. Not as scheduled, midway through the second day, the foreman ask me to meet him at the truck, I found most of my items sitting on the sidewalk outside the loading dock of the building. The foreman at this time told me that the price to move my items was increasing by $4000. almost Double the $4876 I was quoted for the move. I was told I was using more space on the truck and that they had used an extra $2176 worth of packing materials. The original amount of packing materials after the in-home inspection was $695. I was given two options, pay the additional funds or leave my items in Miami.

After presenting copies of my quotes they eliminated the extra cost for space on the truck but still demanded $2200 for extra packing materials. There was nothing I could do at that moment, but pay. an additional $1490.00, for which I wrote a check.

My items arrived to my home in Dallas on the 22nd of December 2018. I had to pay an additional $1,899 in cash before items would be lowered from truck. I was present as my items were lowered from the truck and more than 33 items arrived damaged, many items were not packed in the packing materials that I was told they were going to be packed in. Lamps were not in lamp boxes, glass and crystal items were wrapped in my personal clothing, towels, bedding and dogs clothing. Mirrors and art were wrapped in movers blankets not placed in boxes. Approximately 50% of the glass items were not wrapped in bubble wrap. I notified Transvan Immediately. I spoke with *** in Dispatch who told me to unpack all my items first and catalog all damages, then call back and she would connect me with claims.

After the holidays and unpacking all items, I called Transvan on the 2nd of January 2019 to file a claim. I spoke with *** in Dispatch who connected me to ***. *** told me that someone would return my call within 3-5 business days to take the information for my claim. I waited a week, but no one called. On December 10th, I called *** again and she again connected me to Claims. This time I spoke with ***, who then connected me to *** to take the claims information.

That call to *** in claims lasted about 45 minutes. I gave her not only detailed information of all my items that were damaged, but also what transpired during my move. I made it clear I wanted a refund on all monies charged me for packing materials and for my claim to be handled promptly. *** told me I would not be receiving a refund for anything, and that I could not speak to anyone else. She further stated I would be receiving by mail within 5-7 days, claim forms that I needed to fill out and then provide color photos of all damaged items along with any proof of purchase. I was also told by *** that any other information I would like to give regarding this move could be added to my claim forms. I was told I had to live with all items damaged and broken and could not get anything repaired until the claim was closed; and this could take up to 6 months. It has now been 2 months days and I have not received any claims forms, emails, letters, return calls, or any other forms of contact from anyone with Transvan Lines. I have sent a detailed email to Customer service, and dispatch. I was not given an email for claims.

Desired Outcome

I would like the Revdex.com's assistance in getting Transvan's management to communicate with me regarding my complaints, and send claim forms necessary to have my items repaired or replaced and to be made whole. I would like the Revdex.com's assistance in getting a refund for materials charged but not used.

would not even give one star....they are worst nightmare you can think of you rather move by higher a good person with good driving records..
rent truck...pay him to drive for you from place a to b...pay him return fair and do all but not this Trans Van Lines group...they ...ruined and damaged and lost most of my belongings and 3 weeks late..and still paid higher then I paid for private move...so I am coping from others review below because that is exactly true and nothing but true...read it...I just could not write batter...I agree 200%

Based on my experience with this company, I have created the following ad that fully describes what they do:

Hey there, looking to move cross-country? Well then here is what we can do for you. First we will have a nice person call you and be very knowledgeable, and seem very forthcoming about the process. He will tell you about the move and how smooth it will be. Also, he will not pressure you and even accommodate you by giving his direct number. After you call back to book, he will tell you that the price of the move is by weight, and that you will have your property within 5-10 days, and that this company has experience with moves such as yours. You will be told that 1-2 weeks before the move, you will receive a call to add or delete any inventory. He will tell you that the truck driver, in a semi truck will give you the weight of the truck before pick up, and once they weight the truck with your items, you will be given the weigh bill and the updated estimate of the move. The move will be reasonable and no fuss to you at all. Just pay the deposit, which is 1/3 of the total cost.

Then, once we have the deposit, we will ignore you and hand you over to a budget mover called Low Price Movers (cute, right?). *** Review separate of this place.

Then your stuff will be hauled away and you will not hear anything from us. You will be confused, and feeling a bit ripped off. You will call us and we will not answer. You will email and call the original sales person that you set up the appointment with, and you will be ignored.

Someone will call you and promise that everything will take care of, and that this should not have happened. This person will promise to call you back. This will be a lie, but we have your stuff, so shut up and take it.

You will eventually get frustrated. You will eventually file a Revdex.com complaint. This will pisus off.

You will try calling Trans Van Lines again, and get the same person, on the phone. She seems like she wants to help and says that she will get you're the weigh bill and that she is trying to help you, but she is either too busy or incompetent to really do anything.

Finally two weeks after your belongings were tossed into a truck, a truck driver will call you. He will let you know that your belongings are on a truck in Chicago (no where in between your Los Angeles to Oklahoma City move) and that he should be able to get them to you the following Saturday or Sunday.

You will receive a Revdex.com response that in so many words says "You signed up with us, deal with it and you will get your
whenever we feel like it. Shut up and go away."

You will try again to talk to someone, and she will feed you more about how she is working on it.

It's Friday, and you still will not have your stuff.

Finally on Saturday, 17 days later, your truck of stuff shows up. A representative of Trans Van Lines will act like he is trying to help you, and offer you compensation of less than 1% of your move. He also will promise to provide you with the weigh bill, so you can find out what your move really cost. He says that he will send it to you on Monday. He won't.

Also, we at Trans Van Lines can guarantee that your items will be thrown onto at least 5 different trucks, with no mind to the fragile contents... which if labeled so, we will kick down a flight of stairs and have an elephant waiting to do burpees on the remains of the boxes. We also promise that at least 2/3 of your items will be marred, disfigured, broken, destroyed, mangled and pulverized. We don't event know what customer service means.

Refund

I Have asked to be removed from their call list, but I keep receiving calls and texts constantly.
In late January I requested an online quote. The next day I received a phone call from this company and I told them I was no longer interested in the service. I asked to be removed from the call list. I would get calls almost daily. Sometimes I would pick up the phone and they would hang up. Sometimes I would let it go to voicemail and they would leave a message and send a text. I have replied to the texts, stating that I no longer wish to receive any more messages. Nothing has worked.

Desired Outcome

I no longer wish to receive any more contact from this company.

I feel very let down with this service...
To start with I must commend the sales staff for their ability to eloquently package and offer customer service. Unfortunately, the service stops at the moment of pick-up.
From misquoting me by more than 50% of what the driver picking my items up "determined" was the value that I owed to over $350 worth of upcharges for stairs, even though I very clearly stated the number of flights the movers must carry my items at time of pickup.
Next, there is a "system" so they say, that offered me 30 days of free storage(to which I was grateful for). However, I received a phone call 3 days after pickup stating that my items had been inadvertently loaded onto a truck and that they would give me a $150 discount. I obliged as it was a fair offer. When the driver(with no crew) arrived here in Houston, traveling from Chicago; he stated he was waiting for his CRAIGSLiST laborers to show up to help move the heavy items. (They never showed). I had to help him move my heavy items even though this is a "full service" moving company which had received over $2500 for a small 1 bedroom apartment. The driver and I went back a forth for more than 45 minutes over the fact that he did not have knowledge of the discount offered to me for the early shipping as well as the fact he was charging me an extra 150$ for stairs(also included on the quote but not included on Bill of lading and also not allowed to be forgiven).
10 minutes after He left, I realized that my foot board of my bed had been forgotten and called the dispatch. Rather than dispatch calling the driver, I was told to call back on Monday. It has been four days and no one has offered me help besides the fact of saying that I should not have signed for it if it wasn't there. I do agree that I should have been more attentive when signing a contract but I frankly wanted the gentlemen out of my house after he had been rude at the beginning and was lacking the labor elp to move a one bedroom apartment in less than three hours.
Unless their customer service standards change, I strongly urge everyone to shop around. I say this as someone who works in the logistics industry... disappointed.

On the phone, I was told that moving a 2 bedroom apt would cost around $2000. After loading the furniture, it became $5439.49.Cash Prepayment: $1552.
Date: 12/26/2018
Address: *** Key West FL.
Destination: ***
Apt has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. I have only one bedroom furniture, one living room furniture. No Dining room. The second room has one small computer desk, one small chair , guitars and amplifiers.
I was told on the phone that moving a 2 bedroom apt should cost about $2000. Than I was told that th hey estimated the weight as 553 lbs/cu.ft. But somehow they thought that the size is 980 lbs/cu.ft after they loaded all my furniture at 9pm in the evening.
They required me to make a prepayment in cash. I made a payment as money order .The amount is about $1552.
How did my 2 bedroom furniture doubled? And cost more than double. Now they have my furniture. I have lost my job. I am moving to a bigger city to be able to find a job. Now I am using my savings for this move. Much more than I planned.
Please HELP!
Order No: ECXXXXXX.
Pick Up Date: 12/26/2018

Desired Outcome

I told the driver and move that why they gave me a number that much less than what it is. If I knew, I would give my furniture to the Salvation army and move some personal items myself.

Strongly feel all the 5 stars from their own company employees fake account.
Real customers can only give 1 star. Poor service. Do not opt for this. This company do not ask any fee before the pick up date. But the actual price will be 5 times more than the actual quoted fee. It doesn't end just spending lot of money. Few items are received damaged. The foremen are not professional. Late delivery. You have to spend all your energy and time to receive the items. There are a lot of hidden fees. If you don't know what to do with your money then go for this service by paying thousands of dollars to ship your households and trash half of the damaged items. Buy new items. Happy spending...

Desired Outcome

Refund !!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! IT DOES NOT RESPECT QUOTATIONS: QUOTED 10,000 AND ENDED UP PAYING 20,000. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND CARELESS.
The movers did not bring tools to assemble the furniture, so we spent a lot of time looking for my tools in the boxes. I even had to drive them 20 min to home depot as one of my tools was missing and it was needed for assembly! The worst part was that there was significant amount of damage in the boxes and furniture. I had delicate and expensive ceramic pieces which were packaged carelessly with just a layer of paper and seemed to be just dropped into the box without any concern or care. All our fine vases and decorations were broken! So when we open the boxes there was a lot of damage. I have moved several times and never experienced work so recklessly done. Some furniture was not disassembled properly, so there was a significant amount of damage. Others had corners damaged, and some of the broken pieces were missing. Furthermore, at the end of the deliver we had several items missing, some of it which took another 3 weeks to be delivered!. Unbelievable lack of concern the packing and the transport was extremely careless, but in addition. To make things worse, I did not receive it all my furniture. When I received the second shipment (about 2 months after the move), there were items that were missing, an aluminum ladder and glass shelves for the china cabinet. In addition, the movers also packed toilet plungers with clothing! They also packed bags full of trash in one of the large boxes, so I actually paid for transporting trash!

It is important to remark that I made a lot of calls to the office. The operator mentioned several times that she could not do anything and that the people in charge *** were busy or unavailable, and that I had to deal with the *** (I am not sure why she was not able or willing to help either). My problem with the situation is that *** did not show any respect or concern for the situation that his lateness had created, lied several times about completing the job. He did not show any respect and he had the nerve to call me buddy!

The delivery part of the move was not any better. The movers did not bring tools to assemble the furniture, so we spent a lot of time looking for my tools in the boxes. I had to call several times the claims department fo finally made a claim. First they they told me that I had to go through the normal process and that I needed documentation which was not provided by the drivers. The representative told me that, as the driver did not hand me the paperwork, I had to wait until the driver provided it within 3 business days. As I did not receive a call from claims department, I called for a follow up a week after, I spoke to *** who was rude.

Desired Outcome

claim my breakup furniture!!

This company created massive damage to every item they touched. My art pieces were destroyed including limited editions by Boehm, ballet statues valued at $300.00 each.there were four, only one made it unbroken. Also there are many items they stoled and now I am without them and pay for replacement. They incorrectly told me I had one year to file a claim. Now they are saying 9 mos and the time period has passed,
They kept changing the original quote.Never Never use this company. This move was truly a nightmare.

If I could give less than zero stars I would !!
DON'T let this company fool you!!!!
They will give you a good estimate but then they will come into your house , load the truck with your stuff and then tell you that you have pay More. The price will soon triplicate with a blink of an eye.

On July 18 2018 I received my shipment of boxes from Florida to Colorado.
I can't even begin to list all the items that are severely damaged or broken or lost / stolen

Let's start with the damaged ones (and I didn't open all the boxes yet so I'm only listing the things that I saw but seen the conditions of the boxes I'm expecting more )

The conditions of the boxes in witch my belongings Arrived are EMBARASSING

- peter lik photograph framed - this is a precious limited edition piece of art . The current price for it in a gallery is 35,000 $

They don't answer to emails, they don't call you back. If you call the customer service department that will tell You that they don't handle this kind of things. ( I wonder what they do .....)
STAY AWAY FROM THEM... they will try to tell
You that "the reviews that you find online are from other moving companies trying to steal customers from them" or that " I do empathize and understand that all customers, like you, value and are concerned that their personal/household items are handled with the utmost care."
DON'T trust them!!! Read all the reviews about them and you will see that ALL THE PEOPLE writing the reviews are saying the same things about this company : they make you pay more , they ruin your things and they don't pay for it.

I would give zero stars if possible
Please don't go with this company.
Horrible, disaster, the worst experience ! First of all the quote I received before the move was not close to the actual price. I ended up paying about 40 to 50% more (even though I had less items on the move day than when I got the estimate).
They loaded the truck before they gave me the actual move price and when they hit me with the extra charges they refused to unload. When I called Customer service I was yelled at by the rep.

The company estimate is not even close to what the actual quote was. So many charges for everything they do.

Damaged most of the furniture, sofa, chair, picture frames, Bed is still setting on the floor and Still waiting for insurance claim to be made. Just found out that they don't repair or replace anything.I think they pay pennies per pound.
I do not recommend this company to anyone.

Desired Outcome

Just Refund!

My furniture was picked up by Trans Van Lines on October 3rd, 2018. I called the delivery department the next day & said that I wanted it immediately, no storage time. As of today, October 19, 2018, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY FURNITURE, nor have I even been given a date that I can expect to receive it, despite over 6 calls to ***, the delivery scheduler.
Product_Or_Service: Furniture delivery
Account_Number: XXXXXX

Desired Outcome

Delivery I want my furniture YESTERDAY, & I want financial compensation for the inconvenience & expense caused by this outrageous delay.

This is the most fraudulent company with bait and switch tactics. In addition, they are extremely unreliable in terms of setting a date to deliver your furniture. You cannott make plans when a company promises to deliver but then calls up the day before to cancel. This happened not once, not twice but theee times. Absolutely ridiculous. Heed my warning and STAY AWAY from this moving company!

It's been 2 months since Trans Vans Delivered a damaged item to my home. Their claim department is rude and not helpful at all. I need a resolution.
My home office desk was delivered broken and in pieces on August 2, 2018. I contacted trans van the same day to report the items and they referred me to their customer care department. Customer care created a claim in which they said they would only pay $60 on a $287 due to the standard coverage I had. I agreed and they informed me I would receive a confirmation email and some documents I needed to sign in order for the check to be released. One month later, there was no email. I called, they said " customers normally forget about their claim and so their files are archived, but they would get my file and resend the forms" another month has gone by with no follow up or email. I have called everyday this week, they claim it takes 24 hours. another rep said it would be in by tuesday at 7:00 pm. They refused to let me speak with the supervisor all week and when I finally spoke with someone name *** who claims to be the top boss, she was even ruder than her representatives. Please resolve this ASAP!

Desired Outcome

Please send me a check for the $60 for the item that was damaged while you were supposed to be securely moving them.

Damaged furniture poor service. Paid for full packing services and most furniture arrived damaged. Furniture delivered late, and items were missing.

Pick up date: May 26 - 30, '18 Tampa, FL
Delivery date: July 17, '18 Saratoga, CA
Payment amount: *** Transport (*** for packing)

The pick up was scheduled on May 26 and May 29. Drivers came 5 hrs late from the stated time frame every day, leaving only few hours to pack daily. Made calls to the customer service office to complain, but operator was not willing to help or escalate. The packers rushed, the packing was very bad. Promised professional packers, but got only 3 people that had not experience packing, only moving. They damaged my walls which I had to have fixed, as I had sold the house. When I received the furniture, the packers/movers broke items which were packed without my knowledge, packed trash bags and dirty toilet plungers with my clothing.

The delivery part of the move was not any better. The contract stated that I was supposed to received all the furniture 21 business days from the packing date, but did not receive all furniture until July 17th. The movers did not bring tools to assemble the furniture. A lot of the furniture came damaged due to poor packing. Delicate and expensive ceramic pieces which were packaged carelessly with just a layer of paper and seemed to be just dropped into the box without any concern or care. Fine wood furniture came dented, light fixtures and shades damaged due to careless packing. An aluminum ladder, paintings and glass shelves for the china cabinet were missing.

I contacted several times the claims department to get claim money back for packing charges, broken pieces and missing items. I talked to different customer services who did not follow up. I even talked to the Customer Service head, *** mid September. She said she will call me back with a resolution but never did. When I tried to contact her she could not be reached.

Desired Outcome

I am claiming $*** back for packing services that were not properly provided, as much of my furniture was damaged, for delays in receiving my furniture as I had to rent some furniture while my furniture was being delivered.
