Trans Van Lines Reviews (%countItem)

Not only was accompanied late delivering my furniture I had to offload my own furniture and I also substantial property damage due to the truck driver at the time did not know how to drive a truck items in truck were broken boxes were smashed and would never recommend this company to even be in business anymore the way they handle their claims hanging up on you when you're finding out what's going on arguing with you on the phone when you're trying to find out where your furniture is very unprofessional business if I was in charge I would pull their license to even be a contractor in moving

1. Communication on delivery dates
2. Customer Service
3. Price
1. We were told when we went into contract that if they picked up our furniture on the 10th we would have it delivered by the 27th. It's now the 5th of the following month and it's finally going to arrive.

2. We were told that they would carry up on flight and they are now telling us that they charge by the STAIR. This is now and additional charge

3. They need to walk 110 feet and we are being charged a long hall.

4. We are in a private complex and the driver will not park in the restricted zone. The property security gave the ok but he refused. This is not costing us 300.00 more.

5. Price we were quoted 1,200 for our move and it's going to cost 2,100. This was clearly mis communicated as we were told they would complete the move for the 1,200.

We called several times and each time they could not give us any information on where our truck was on the journey.

Finally they now what to charge additional money if they cant park in-front of our house.

Desired Outcome

Because of the issues with the move it has cost me the following: Change in air ticket $511.00 Additional Medication $95.00 Additional truck to move furniture 300.00 At a minimum I would expect a refund of $906.00. This does not include any personal distress and loss of work time.

four hours late for pick, stole items from our move, broke items of furniture and employees smelled of marijuana.
My girlfriend and I were scheduled to move on Friday, April 27 from the time of noon to four. The drivers for pick didn't show until 6:30 pm. I called The company and no one seemed to care. Spoke with the driver of the truck and kept giving me the runaround why he was late due to traffic. When the driver arrive he smells of marijuana. They guys move my belongings and didn't wrap items correctly and resulted in them shattering the glass in my dresser, tearing up my daughters crib, break a lamp, and stealing my surround sound. When showing this to the driver he blames the other mover and says "he's new" like that made the situation any better. Can't find my the rest of my belongs, Furniture is broken and the lack of communication between the sales rep and the manager Sergio was appalling.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a refund due to the fact that my items were stolen, furniture is broken and the long wait time for my pick up.

Was told my mother's household items would be delivered within 3 days. I spoke with ***. After 5 days was told it will take 10 days-Unacceeptable
I was told that my mother's items would be delivered from Georgia to Ohio within three days. I spoke with *** who said "just call me and I'll track your things down personally." After four days, they told us to speak with dispatch who alerted my mother that her things should arrive in ten days and that there was nothing they could do. I can not get anyone on the phone when I called to speak with ***. Now my mother is living in an empty house waiting on her life to arrive. I can only get the receptionist on the phone who says there's no one available to speak with us.

*** even gave me information discrediting another company I was considering.

Here's her contact information.

Desired Outcome

My mother needs her items directly. She needs to go to a hotel because she has health problems and can not continue to sleep on the floor. We would also like to be credited for the cost of the move since this is causing more health problems for my mother than it helped.

Trans Van Lines Response • May 25, 2018

We have reviewed the Consumer complaint filed by *** against Trans Van Lines, regarding late delivery. We have also reviewed the pre-move estimate and moving documents relative to this matter.

We have confirmed that the Consumer hired the Business to perform a Long Distance move from Georgia to Ohio, commencing on 4/19/18. Prior to the move, on 4/18/18, Consumer (***) was issued an estimate via email which included all terms of the quote/agreement. This estimate clearly states "General delivery schedule: Estimate delivery schedule below are not guaranteed but close proximity, based on previous performance and the customer's earliest/1st requested delivery date...XXX-XXXX miles - 1-10 business day" & "Above schedule is effective from the earliest date the customer is ready for final delivery - at the time of your pick-up we will ask you the earliest date you can accept delivery". At the time of pick-up Consumer indicated that her First Available Delivery Date was 4/20/18, thereby making the 10 business day delivery range (counted Mon-Fri, excluding weekends/holidays, although delivery may occur 7 days/week) as 4/20-5/3/18. We have confirmed that delivery was completed to Ms. on 5/3/18, which was within the agreed delivery range and as such no late delivery occurred. Therefore, we must advise that delivery has been completed in full within the agreed time frame, and no compensation is due Consumer. Please update your records to reflect Satisfactory Resolution of this complaint. Thank you.

Customer Response • May 31, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept this response from Trans Van Lines, LLC mainly because their calculations are faulty, they damaged my mother's furniture and they took her items off of the truck and placed it in storage without our consent. Besides that, as I've stated previously, the customer service was horrible and we were told lies to attract our business. After all of that, upon delivery, the drive tried to tell my mother that she'd owe another $300 since they could not pull the truck to the door of the townhouse and the truck to door distance was over some arbitrary amount. After my mother told them that she wanted to see them measure the distance and show her the paperwork, they were miraculously able to pull the truck to the door!

We placed the order and paid money on April 12. Her delivery date was the 20th of April. Her vehicle arrived two days later.

Her furniture did not arrive until Sunday, May 3 at 3:50pm. At no time during the conversation nor in the contract does it state 7-10 days. Beatrice told us as well as the contract stated that the drivers could not drive more than 500 miles in any 24 hour period so allow up to three days for delivery.

When I was looking for a moving and storage company last month, I came across Trans Van Lines. I read their reviews and they were excellent. I chose them for moving to my new house. The crew was very professional and friendly. They did everything in the most efficient way. High-value movers and definitely one of the best cheap moving companies. Strongly-recommended.

Trans Van Lines
Trans Van Lines is the worst moving company on the planet; do yourself a favor and read below (I will try to keep it as brief as possible) and DO NOT use this company. In my opinion they are criminals!

It all started with a call with Amanda to get a quote to move me from Fort Lauderdale to Cincinnati. Rather than quote what I had over the phone, I had Amanda send someone physically to my house to eliminate any "surprises". After walking them through everything I wanted to move, mind you in person, I received a quote for $3,760. I booked the company and schedule my move for a month down the road.

When the moving day came, six (6) movers came to my house and packed everything I owned onto their truck. I was dealing with David, who was moving my items, and Diego was the guy at the office. After packing everything, and NOT saying a word, Diego gets on the phone and tells me I owe over $9,000!!!!! They literally have you "over the barrel" because they threaten that you either pay, or spend the whole day unpacking everything they just did. And then at that point, they had my $3,760 in a cashiers check. I was able to negotiate $7,000 which is almost double what I was quoted in PERSON from Trans Van Lines. Mind you, I had lower quotes than the $3,760 that were quoted over the telephone but felt the in person walk through would solve any issues.

Fast-forward a week to Cincinnati. The truck and 2 movers get to town, and claim they cannot get down the street because there was a small tree limb blocking the turn. Mind you, the driver did not even bother to try. They then proceeded to charge me an additional $900 otherwise they would hold my items hostage. I finally agreed, and waited 5 HOURS for them to even put one thing into my house. Once they did, myself and my father ended up having to do a lot of the carrying in unwrapping of the stuff as these two were exhausted and were so slow.

It took 26 hours from when they arrived to my house in Cincinnati for them to unpack my things. They lost items, broke several pieces. Tt was a mess, and even after everything I had been through, Mona, and the rest of the office staff were absolutely despicable to work and speak to. They literally did not care and are make several threats. The drivers asked me to come one the truck to see if I could identify any of my items. It was no wonder they had items lost and broken.... There was boxes and furniture everywhere!!!! Smashed boxes, broken items, people's things that they threw outside of the truck in the rain. I have pictures of it all! See below.
I truly feel sorry for these people who were to receive their items next.

The Trans Van Lines experience was the worst I have ever had with any company, in any industry and that comes with experience! They extort their customers once they low ball the price and then hold them hostage once everything is loaded on the truck. The driver said this was his first load with this company and all 5 families were dealing with the same issue. This company should be ashamed of how they operate. DO NOT USE Trans Van Lines.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking that they find my lost items, and refund me $3900 to match the quote that they gave me in Person when I walked them through my home.

Trans Van Lines deliberately delayed service and did not show up on scheduled date, causing significant health hazard and financial distress.
I had booked with Trans Van Lines several weeks ago to move today before 5pm. The customer service was helpful and had scheduled the movers to come between 12-4pm. I had requested several times with different customer service agents that since I have to work at 6pm, the movers must come on time and finish before 6pm. I was assured the movers would arrive close to 12pm. However, on the day of the move, the movers did not show up by the designated time frame. I called and complained and the company dismissed my complaint saying this type of significant delay is routine with their company. After several hours of debate, the company finally agreed to send the movers either at 6pm or, if I have to work, the next morning. Despite of the fact that I have loaded and moved a significant amount myself, the company tried to increase the moving price in the process. Because I cannot wait til the next day, as I have to move out first thing in the morning, I requested for the movers to come at 6pm, canceling my work in the process. After I made this request, the company changed and said they can no longer come at 6pm. I asked to cancel the service and the manager agreed to refund the deposit. However, he declined to speak to me and I have not received the refund. This incidence has caused me significant distress, which the company is well aware of. As I am 4 months pregnant, I hired the company to avoid heavy lifting. However, due to their unreliability, I am forced to do heavy lifting on my own and spend $1000+ more to have new arrangement of moving last minute. It seems to me the company has deliberately refused to move on the scheduled date due to internal issues; however, because of the mismanagement, I may be risking a miscarriage and lost $2000 of moving cost and wages. Not only is the company unapologetic about the incidence, their attitude was dismissive and condescending, making minimal effort to resolve the situation. I have spoken to multiple personnel, including the manager, dispatch, and several customer service agents. The company is well-aware of my physical disability and time constraints, but deliberated withheld service. This type of unprofessionalism should not be tolerated in the industry.

Desired Outcome

The company has not refunded the $400 deposit made. Also have no intention of offering resolution. Because of the delay, I lost a day of wages amounting to $500, and am forced to pay another company last minute for the move at an additional $1500. I request that Trans Van Lines make serious effort to recover the loss I've suffered. If my pregnancy has any abnormalities or even loss due to heavy lifting (because the company did not deliver their service), I will also seek legal action in the near future.

One of my cousins told me about Trans Van Lines when I was searching for a reliable moving company to make my move smooth. They helped me with everything and responded to my queries very quickly and efficiently. I'm glad I hired them and even their price was same as quoted. Strongly-recommended.

I paid a very competitive amount and got the best possible move from these movers. I used Trans Van Lines for my move last month, which was a 3 bed room apartment move and they had to pack, move and store everything at the designated place within the given time and budget and then move it to my new home in Nebraska. The movers did exceptionally well to fulfill all my requirements. They showed why they are rated as one of the finest in business.

You cannot compare these people to any other mover. The others were clumsy and broke two of my best artifacts. However, the team of Trans Van Lines maintained lots of care and diligence. The result is that there was no damage and also there weren't any hidden or extra charges. I am quite content with their moving services and will definitely hire them again.

I have heard some mean things about the moving companies. But, the reason why they exist is pretty simple. They make our lives easier. Otherwise, I don't even know how people move across states, on their own. Sure, not every moving company makes it easier for you and there is always a chance that your goods might get damaged or lost. But, that risk runs low with a company like Trans Van Lines. These guys are just such professionals. I hired them for my move and they really came to the party. All my belongings were carefully packed up in the shortest possible time. The men displayed amazing skills and efficiency. I am very thankful to the movers. All my goods reached on schedule and nothing was lost or damaged. I think hiring these guys was the best decision.

I'm not a fan of relocating and I'm pretty sure nobody is. It always takes a toll on you. I'm particularly not a fan of having to leave my hometown. I grew up here and leaving home never feels good. I had to move for my new job and I was very stressed out. Luckily, there is a good moving company which lends a helping hand during these stressful and sad times. I did a research and zeroed down on Trans Vanlines. They called me back very quickly with a quote which seemed reasonable enough. Their men arrived on time on the moving day. I was quite delighted seeing the men at work. They were very skilled at packing everything that might break during the journey. They loaded everything very expertly onto their vans. I received all my things on the scheduled delivery day and everything was in very good condition. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service they provided me.

The customer service was amazingly polite. I was really happy with the staff. Being courteous, polite and ready to answer your questions is something every company needs. I had some papers to be readied so as to move the items to another state. Trans Van lines helped me throughout this job. It showed their dedication to customer satisfaction. I even had a situation where storage was required for a week. While they did charge as any company would, it was quite minimal and there were some special discounts because the same movers helped me relocate. They were definitely worth the cost and I highly recommend them.

Dealing with Trans Van Lines was a true pleasure. Mine was a local move. The movers were so efficient at their job. They really made me feel like they cared about my things. I thought they would come to my house and rush to load the truck and move on, but instead they really took their time and made sure not to break or damage anything. My questions were answered or an answer was found by the end of the day. For example, customer service was not sure of the exact date so they called the driver, and he called me and let me know his schedule and his approximate arrival. It was super cool of him to call and let me know. Thanks guys.

I might have just found the perfect moving company who really shows a lot of care for the customers' valuables. Trans Van Lines was just brilliant while they conducted my move. The movers were so strong. They carried my heavy mattress with absolute ease. I really can't praise these guys enough. Lastly, a special mention is needed for their pricing. They quoted quite low and surprisingly, the final bill didn't exceed the quote. All the packing materials were provided for free. I have to give these guys 5 stars just for the pricing.

Everyone knows how stressful relocation is. Imagine having to do that over the holidays. It was my misfortune that I had to move during the vacation. I called several moving companies and no one could accommodate me. Finally I got a call back from Trans Van Lines offering me a slot that just got vacant. I didn't even care about the money, I just hired them. Two days later, the movers showed up right on the clock. They displayed incredible efficiency while packing and loading my possessions. To be honest, I would have appreciated them even if they did a poor job simply because they saved me from being homeless. But the movers performed really well despite my gratitude. Thank you Trans Van Lines for being my savior.

We contracted with this customer at one price only upon arrival the foreman while loading added additional charges thus doubling our agreed amount.
This vendor using their price match offer. upon their arrival at our residence, he begin to tell us that the wardrobe boxes were tall boxes and not the original wardrobe boxes listed in the inventory this would be an additional charge. the sofa sleeper that we listed on the inventory had more padding then the normal furniture and this would be an additional charge. We were also told all items needed to be wrapped by the company and then they taped the wrapped and charged us for the tape at a clip of 16.00 per roll. we were not aware of their tactics otherwise we would have chosen a different carrier. This has been the worst experience of our lives. I want all who read this to know that we STILL have not received our house hold goods, my wife only has the outfits she packed and now looking to replace an ENTIRE wardrobe. there has been NO additional contact with supervisory personnel with this company. To those who have responded, issued the same statement "this is out of my hands, there is nothing more I can do and will forward this email to the proper parties." I thought we covered all bases when preparing for this move, apparently not. if you are reading this complaint, and have not made the choice on a carrier, CHOSE ANOTHER COMPANY!!! I could see if the boxes we used were made by us and the sofa sleeper was stuffed by our hands but all was factory mdse. To date our mdse. is being held for ransom and they are not honoring ANY of the signed documents

Desired Outcome

We want this company to honor the contracted price of 1650.00 and some change. Become a company of integrity and disclose ALL additional charges that could arise, I understand that you might lose a few contracts but you will gain in reputation and still make a good profit without having your company name processed negatively in the minds of popular opinion

Trans Van Lines Response • Mar 01, 2018

We have received the Consumer complaint filed by *** against Trans Van Lines, for overcharge and pending delivery issues. We have reviewed the complaint along with the estimate and moving paperwork for this move.

We have confirmed that Consumer hired the Business to perform a Long Distance move from Florida to Kansas, commencing on 2/16/18. Prior to the move Consumer obtained a phone/email estimate based solely on their representation of the size/scope of services needed. At time of pick-up Consumer had additional items (2 lamps, 1 broom, 1 computer chair, 6 small boxes, 7 med boxes/totes, 1 large box extra, 2 xl boxes/bins extra, 2 xl w/d boxes instead of 2 reg w/d boxes, 1 medium bag) & required packing services/supplies. As such, they were provided with a revised cost, which they accepted & signed a revised estimate thereby replacing/voiding any prior estimates. The revised price included significant discounts applied for good will. Thereafter, Consumer contacted Trans Van Lines to dispute price they had agreed to & as they had not paid the required 70% they were advised that this must be completed to schedule transport. We did reach out to Consumer again yesterday, and after speaking with Mr. today we have provided an additional/final adjustment off of their move cost & reached a satisfactory resolution with Mr.. We have emailed confirmation of the settlement to Consumer & are awaiting his transfer of the funds to complete the 70% deposit, so that we may schedule the shipment for transport within the 14 business day delivery range.

We respectfully request that this case be closed as Satisfactorily Resolved. Thank you.

Customer Response • Mar 20, 2018

This is an update to the original claim. We were told that we would receive a call 24-hours before the scheduled date of delivery. We received a call @2100 hours claiming to be the delivery driver and they are looking to schedule a delivery time for in the morning. I then received an email from the dispatcher telling me that if I did not call them, our household goods would then be stocked and it would cost us more money to receive the property. I responded to the email and told the dispatcher that we were told we would have a 24-hour notice before we could arrange a delivery. The response sent was to call the driver and he would work with us regarding this delivery time since it is STATED in our CONTRACT this would happen. I work 3rd shift and therefore I needed to arrange my sleep schedule to accommodate this action. We receive an additional call in the morning and it is the driver calling my wife stating he will be at our house in an hour and will need to collect the additional monies before items could be unloaded. I told the driver, my wife is not here for she is trying to remove the monies from the bank, I asked if he had spoken with the dispatcher and his response was he called my wife and told me he would be here at this time. They have arrived in a moving truck that is not marked with the company name and I have no way of knowing who these people are except they seem to have our household goods. by the time they have finished with us, this is the most expensive move and far more above any of the quotes that we have received. I WILL NEVER use them again for any reason. This is the most non-professional company I have ever dealt with. My wife and I are so angry but after all what can you do; all of yoiur household goods are sitting in the rear of this truck being held hostage for the amount they are demanding. The tragic part of it all is, it is legal. ONCE AGAIN. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO COMPLETE A MOVE FOR ANY REASON AND HAVE NOT SECURED A COMPANY... DO NOT USE THIS ONE. THEY HAVE WONDERFUL PRICES AND EVEN GREAT SALES REPS BUT AFTER THE DEAL IS DONE, YOU ARE AT THEIR MERCY..... ONCE AGAIN YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Trans Van Lines Response • Mar 29, 2018

We have reviewed the two (2) recent rebuttals filed by *** relative to his ongoing Consumer complaint against Trans Van Lines. We have also reviewed his moving paperwork and our claim records relative to this matter.

We have confirmed that Consumer had a 14 business day delivery range of 3/2-3/21/18 (counted Mon-Fri, excluding weekends/holidays). Our records indicate that on 3/13/18 Consumer was sent an email advising that their shipment was scheduled to load on that day. Thereafter that same afternoon they received a 2nd email from the dispatcher confirming shipment had loaded & driver would contact them when he was ready to deliver. On 3/19/18 Consumer was called & an email sent to them advising Dispatcher/driver were trying to reach him to schedule their delivery for the following day. On 3/20/18 Consumer advised the dispatcher that they had difficulty with the notice given by the driver & the Dispatch Dept. advised the driver to work with the Consumer on scheduling delivery, & they notified Consumer of this. They did not hear back from Consumer at all after delivery until receiving his most recent Revdex.com rebuttal. Further, regarding damaged items, Consumer received delivery on 3/20/18 and called to file a claim for two damaged items for the first time today (3/29/18) - kitchen table & kitchen chair. Although coverage chosen by Mr. for his move was limited to $.60/lb/article with max due of $72.00, we have provided additional compensation for good will for all issues & have settled with him for $172.00 total for any/all complaints regarding their move. Settlement documents have been emailed to them today, and once they return the executed forms back to our office, payment will be issued to them.

Please update this complaint as satisfactorily settled in full & close this file. Thank you, M. ***, Director CPC

My move went very smooth and on time, since it was Trans Van Lines which was in charge. This company has an amazing reputation and their movers are just too good and professional. Showed up on time, packed everything quickly and efficiently. They gave an approval of their efficiency when all my belongings arrived safely to the other place. It was such a pleasure working with them.

Disrespectful workers and failure to reserve confirmed date of oickup
I worked with Amanda's and she worked very well with me to reserve the date & time of pickup and delivery of our items. On 2.20.18 I received a call from misty stating that they would be able tooick up our inventory on 2.2418 misty had called me and didn't realize I was on the phone and said" if she doesn't want to move her pickup date to the 24 she can kick rocks. I stated to her that this has been reserved and confirmed 3 weeks in advance and I submitted a confirmation early February about the pickup and delivery date. And that I will not kick rocks. She was shocked about me saying that since she didn't realize I was on the phone when she said that. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was transferred to Stephanie. Stephanie apologized for Misty's behavior and said a man named sandire would call me back and help me. After an hour or two I didn't receive a phone call back. I called and spoke to Stephanie and said all they can do is pickup the 24th. I asked what was done to correct this and she said Amanda was in the wrong and made the mistake. I told her we were going to take our business else where and we are not paying full price for this service. She said okay and we got off the phone. She called me back 2 seconds later saying she can take $90 off, making the expense $900. I did I'll have to think. We booked with them being how my husband and I set aside 1,000 for them and didn't expect this to happens two days prior to our out of state move. Stephanie sounded very family to Misty. In fact it didn't sound like the last I spoke with as in the voice of the supervisor or voicemail. I told Stephanie this all needs to go well and we're veryunwasy with you guys and I don't trust you guys with my money until everything is there. She said we have to pay the 70% first. Which I understand. Also I explained if any other team members want to be rude or if anything else goes wrong it is fitting that a refund will be given. Stephanie hung up on me and called me back stating she meant to hit the hold button or we got disconnected. Seems convinent.

Everything I set to be picked up on the 24th. But my husband and myself will be without our items for 3-4 days. They did not give us a time when the truck will be there

Desired Outcome

A refund of our move. I was very shocked to find out this was not accredited by the Revdex.com.

Trans Van Lines Response • Mar 31, 2018

We have reviewed the Consumer complaint filed by *** against Trans Van Lines, regarding issues with scheduling her pick-up. We have also reviewed the Business' records, moving paperwork, and our claim records relative to this matter.

We have confirmed that Consumer hired the Business to perform a Long Distance move from Indiana to Alabama, commencing on 2/24/18. Shipment was in fact picked up on the date specified, & Consumer was given a credit for any issues she experienced with scheduling the pick-up date. The shipment has now been delivered, and Consumer did recently file a claim for two damaged items & service issues. We have now reached a settlement agreement with her for all issues related to the move & have emailed her the settlement documents. Once she returns the executed release form, payment will be mailed to her.

As such, all claims/complaints have been resolved in full, and we request that case be closed as satisfactorily settled in full. Thank you.

I usually don't give reviews so for me to do this, means I had a really good experience or a really bad one. In this case, it was really good. Trans Van Lines' team came to my apartment promptly at 8:30 in the morning and had everything out of there wrapped up and in the truck by 9:45. These guys are fast and efficient. They individually wrap all pieces of furniture to make sure nothing gets dinged up. A+ Service.
