Trans Van Lines Reviews (%countItem)

I am quite satisfied with the way my move turned out with Trans Van Lines. The professionals here did a great job and I did not experience stress or anxiety even once. They actually took a bunch of stress off my shoulders by packing up my items quite carefully. Moreover, they were quite honest and communicative that just made me feel that everything would be okay.

agreed to move furniture and then lost it

After my mother passed *** I paid over $1140 to have them move an heirloom bedroom set from Florida to South Carolina They picked up 5 pieces on Jan 6 but only delivered 4. They lost the main piece (chest of drawers) When I asked where it was the delivery man said it was crossed off the list when he picked up the furniture from the warehouse. They are unable to locate it and do not seem to care or take any interest in finding it. they offered $54 which I declined because no amount of money would replace this piece this was job # XXXXXX

Desired Outcome

PLEASE locate the lost chest and return it to me

Trans Van Lines Response • Jan 31, 2018

We have received the Consumer complaint filed by *** against Trans Van Lines, for a missing item. At this time we have reviewed the complaint, along with her moving paperwork and our claim records relative to this matter.

We have confirmed that Consumer hired the Business to perform a Long Distance move from FL-SC, commencing on 1/6/18. At the time of delivery on 1/10/18, Consumer advised that she was missing one item - a single dresser. Since that time & for the past 3 weeks Trans Van Lines has conducted multiple searches of their warehouse to no avail. They have also contacted other customers who were on the same delivery truck but no one has reported having the missing item. We did offer Ms. compensation when she called to file her claim on 1/29/18, based on the $.60/lb/article coverage chosen. We again contacted her today to offer additional monies but she emphatically stated that "she does not want ANY monetary compensation at all & wants the item found & returned to her". Unfortunately what Consumer is asking for is not possible. It must be noted that Ms. clearly states in her complaint & as she emphatically reiterated today that she is not seeking any monetary compensation but merely seeking the return of a missing item. THEREFORE, WE RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT THIS CASE BE CLOSED AS INFO ONLY. Thank you.

Their response that basically there was nothing they could do and that they were done looking for something they were paid to be responsible for does not sit well. This particular piece was priceless to me and so they cannot compensate me financially. I was naive in not thinking about the possibility of it being lost. I realized it could be damaged but I thought they tracked furniture. A heartfelt apology and an offer to continue looking is what I had hoped for. Instead, their claims department told me that it may have been delivered to the wrong address and is sitting in someone's storage. Apparently this happens a lot and an appropriate response would be, "we are changing our system so we do not continue to harm people this way."

Trans Van Lines Response • Feb 06, 2018

We have reviewed the additional correspondence from ***, regarding her ongoing Consumer complaint against Trans Van Lines.

Again, we are sorry that Consumer is so upset about the missing item. While missing items do sometimes occur due to human error, it is not common. The inventory system in place is used industry wide. The system does work so long as all customers utilize their Inventory Lists at delivery & check off items & note any items that either do not belong to them or are missing. Unfortunately it is a constant struggle to get all customers to utilize the existing system, & despite instructions provided to every customer, there are some that still do not do the check off at delivery which may have resulted in customer's item being mis-delivered to someone else. The Business has done MULTIPLE searches of the warehouse, has contacted all other customers who were delivered on this trailer, but unfortunately it has not been located. As we advised Consumer, in the event the item is ever located or returned, we will certainly arrange to ship it back to her.

However, at this time given that consumer refuses any monetary compensation (two offers made to her), WE RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT THIS CASE BE CLOSED AS INFO ONLY. Thank you.

Again, they say they have an adequate tracking system, but looking at your own site there is a warning that this is a frequent occurrence. In the case of my chest they actually crossed my chest off the inventory list and sent the driver from Florida to South Carolina without is and did not notify me. Only when I asked the driver where it was, did I get the response that there was no chest because it had been crossed off. I do not feel that this company is operating in good faith or is actually trying to locate this piece.

Horrible Company - sales person was great, gave a detailed quote with all measurements, he figured out the cubic feet etc. Only to have it more than doubled at pick up. At that point if was the Friday prior to New Years and the person *** stated will work on this with accounting next week, we will get this done. So I agreed to the new amount in protest, as we were to work it out next week. Unfortunately I was never again able to speak with *** My salesperson actually said to me, maybe I made a mistake but its out of my hands. I had to leave multiple messages and wait for CUSTOMER CARE to try and work thru the situation. After not receiving any call backs I called several times and had the pleasure of speaking with ***. (that was not a pleasure). The worst human being I have every had to work with. She was so condescending and rude it was almost unbearable. The final outcome was they would keep all my money paid at pick up and we could cancel the delivery to TX and pick up my belongings. I had to pick up because there were some items that were just sentimental. From when my son was born as well as childhood items. With that said, we paid another trucking company and will be donating most of the furniture. This was a better option for us rather than giving these crooks even an additional penny. VERY Unsatisfied customer, lost lots of $ dealing with them. Please anyone that reads this, do not work with them. Total dishonesty.

Trans Van Lines driver exhibited care and attention to the move as if it was his own. He is a consummate employee who cares about his work, a fantastic representative of their business with the mission of overall customer satisfaction. I really like his dedication toward his work. Great professionals at Trans Van Lines.

They were awesome! The crew was right on time and ready to go! They listened to my specific instructions and were very polite about it and did just what I needed. The team also fixed a broken drawer for me which was so helpful! My son was watching them and they were genuinely nice to him!

This company is in the business to scam senior citizens and steal your belongings. My mother and father moved from Florida to Ohio and requested a quote from Trans Van Lines to move their belongings to Ohio. They received a over priced quote from Trans Van Lines and decided to take their business elsewhere. They received a decent quote elsewhere and was later contacted by Trans Van Lines as a follow-up on their quote. My mother advised the sales representative that she was able to get a much cheaper quote from another company. The Trans Van Lines sales rep said they would match that quote to earn their business and gain a customer so my mother booked Trans Van Lines to move her stuff. When the movers came to load up they told my mother she went over her "cubic feet" within the truck and will have to pay an additional $1300 (after they already loaded EVERYTHING in the truck)!!!! $1300 was the exact difference of the initial quote Trans Van Lines gave my mother. The sales rep wanted a sale and decided to do whatever it took to get that sale by manipulating my mother with a "price match" pitch that was not valid. My mother ended up paying $1300 additional when she could of went with another company that was willing to charge her $1300 less. To make matters worse, when my parent's belongings got to Ohio (several days later than expected/promised) she was missing a 50 inch TV. The movers claimed they knew nothing about the TV and were not responsible for whatever happened to the TV. After many complaint phone calls & emails regarding the bogus quote given and the stolen TV, Trans Van Lines has made 0 attempts to rectify this situation.

WHAT A DAY!!! SO STRESSFUL even waking up to think about my Move day. I have to say, I'm so grateful Trans Van Lines crew arrived at 6am and was done by 2pm. I thought it would be longer. I still had the rest of the day to take it easy. Good Service.

I recently moved my entire office of 3 floors and the crew at Trans could not have been more helpful. The crew showed up on time and finished early. No damage, very polite and easy to work with. Everything went very well and as moving can be stressful this was actually the best part of the move. I highly recommend Trans Van Lines. Truly the best!

I'm a college student who hired this company to move me into my dorm and they did a phenomenal job. They made me feel comfortable n relaxed while they packed up all my stuff and transported to my new location. I was able to continue to concentrate on my studies. I was impressed. None of my stuff broken or missing, which was my biggest worry. Therefore, I'm a happy customer

So disappointed in Trans Van Lines - they are thieves.

I sent them pictures of some tools I want to give to my son as the basis for my estimate. They provided a BINDING MOVING ESTIMATE.

On the day of the move, the Rep arrives - two guys start packing and loading my stuff - the third guy comes to handle payment and paperwork. He tries to get me to sign a form to RESCIND the binding estimate and increase the price 30%.

I refuse to sign the form to rescind the estimate - and tell him to leave if he is not going to honor the binding estimate.

He agrees to honor the binding estimate and the guys have loaded about ¾ of my stuff. And that point I notice some items have been moved to the back of the garage behind some garbage bins.

So I carry the hidden items out to the curb to be sure then are included in the move - and the guy tries to tell me they are not included in the move and there will be an extra charge.

I notice the items had been taped by his workers - proving they had been handled and hidden by his workers. I tell him I am cancelling the move. He refuses to off load my tools - and apparently plans to hold my belongings hostage for more money - until I call the cops. Then he starts to off load the items. He even refuses to return my down payment, until the cop arrives.

At that point, he is respectful and polite and drops all my stuff on the curb and returns my down payment. I have to haul everything back into the garage.

These guys are dishonorable and dishonest - and rip off artists. So disappointed.

This company harasses its customers.
I never reached out to this company, but on Monday September 25, I received 8 calls, 3 voicemails, and several text messages looking for a person who I have never heard of. The content of the text was particularly disturbing as this company was advertising themselves to the supposed consumer as "the movers and NOT brokers." Despite my begging for them to stop contacting me, the calls and voicemails continued. Again, I want to make it clear that I never gave this company my contact information or inquired about any service, but in my opinion it says a great deal about a company's integrity with the way they advertise and market themselves to consumers. All this company's manner of marketing said to me was one thing: scam. No legitimate company would advertise themselves this way, and they certainly would stop contacting a customer who told them they are not interested. Incredibly unprofessional. Every time I attempted to block their calls, they would call from a new phone number or simply call as an unknown number.

Desired Outcome

Absolutely never contact me again. I would not recommend this "company" (a term I am using very broadly here as I would not classify this as a legitimate company) to my worst enemy.

Trans Van Lines Response

We apologize for any misunderstanding & have removed this phone number (XXX XXX-XXXX) from our system.

However, as no contract has been entered into with this Consumer, and no money exchanged, and Consumer is not seeking any monetary compensation, we respectfully request that this case be closed as INFORMATION ONLY.

Thank you.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Please remove the phone number XXX-XXX-XXXX from your contact as well. I never want to hear from this company again. Incredibly unprofessional.

Our family had to relocate from Florida to Montana due to my wife's promotion. I thought moving cross-country will be a nightmare but to my surprise it was easier than I thought. Trans Van Lines took care of everything from packing our belongings to unpacking at our new home. Thank you guys you guys did an outstanding job

Trans Van Lines gave one estimate for a move, then more than doubled after loading 1/2 truck. we were told we had to unload own truck.
My family hired Trans Van Lines to make the move from Florida to Colorado. We were given an estimate of $4000.00 and when 1/2 our belongings were loaded they stated our belongings were "bulky" and that the "new" estimate would be $9000.00. They stopped work until my husband wired 70% of the additional funds. We did not hear from the company again for weeks and finally a driver- Boris- stated they would be at our home in Colorado the next day. When he arrived it was ONLY the driver with no people to help unload, no dolly, nothing. He then stated he could not get down our driveway in his Semi- a different truck that picked up our items- and that he could unload "at a local Wal Mart parking lot". I had to hire some friends- from their contraction jobsite- and I and 3 guys had to unload all my belongings using 3 pickup trucks!!! the driver would not even open the door to see my stuff until I had paid him the remaining 30%. The driver then demanded we unwrap everything so he could get all his moving blankets back. He said it was "the customers responsibility" to unload the truck. Trans Van Lines contract clearly states that the load and unload your belongings, as well as putting items back together. My armoire and other items were thrown in my garage- not put together- and he clearly did not unload the truck. Several items were also broken. The driver was extremely rude and this experience has been HORRIBLE. I truly believe this company is ripping people off and after the hurricane and all we have been through in FL this is terrible. I have never filed ANY type of complaint before- but someone needs to shut these guys down!!!! Price Gouging anyone???

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund back to the original estimate and the $$$ I spent to hire unloaders for 4 hours $400.00. I would also like something to be done regarding their license. This is how they operate on a regular basis- read the reviews!!!!

I moved for Fort Myers FL to Austin TX Moving away is always stressful and having to trust anyone with your stuff is scary. But Trans Van Lines made me feel at ease as soon as spoke to the Beatice she was friendly and very helpful . The moving team were very polite, thoughtful with my belongings and on time and my move went without any issuses.

I had a move from Tampa to Kansas. These guys were great and exceeded my expectations. They were on time and they handle my belongings with care they also have a wonder customer service staff . I recommend this company highly.

Never received return phone calls about our questions about the move of our furniture.
Didn't honor there contract with the price and moving dates.
Job# TVXXXXXX Sales Rep. Amanda. Payment amount of $400.00 was paid on July 6,2017. A 70% down payment of $490.00 was paid on July 19,2017 at pick up. When speaking with Amanda we asked if there was any other hidden fees as this was our first time using a moving company. Her reply was, "No. Your total bill is $1,120.00." After the furniture was picked up we received another bill claiming the Total Moving Estimate was now $2077.70 and our furniture was in a warehouse. We had contacted Trans Van Lines Dispatch Dept on July 24, questioning the location of our furniture and to why the bill had changed and why we had not heard from them since this last email. They said the extra charge was due to more items plus the cost of packing materials, which we were not informed about these extra additional costs. Amanda & I had confirmed the list many times before the pick up date so we were concerned. We were then told it was sitting in a warehouse because we had not paid the 70% from the new billing amount given after pick up. On July 26, we spoke with a Margaret Lombardi, VIP Customer Care Dept. who adjusted our new final cost to the amount of $2038.00 and required us to do a bank transfer of $536.60 before releasing our furniture. We did this that very same day and was told our furniture would be received no later than Aug.14th. As you can see we honored everything they required even when we questioned the final bill and late delivery. We were now left with a payment of $611.40 in cash on the day of delivery. On Aug.11th we called Dispatch to check on our delivery date. We were then informed that the prior truck and laborers had backed out and they were now waiting on another truck. Never updating us with this information. Leaving us with an empty house for such a long time, requiring more money for items that were not on Amanda the Sales Rep. original list. The furniture finally arrived on Aug.20th. Before the furniture was unloaded we paid them our final amount of $611.40. And last but not least, the driver, Carlos, arrived alone which left me, *** La Pone, to help move and set up my own furniture.

Desired Outcome

We feel they did not honor their contract. We are asking due to the hardship of going without furniture for over a month, and many lost hours of contacting them and getting the run around by being told someone would contact us but never did.We are asking for a partial refund of $500. due to the breach of contract that was based on loading and unloading and the setting up of our furniture, plus the length of time it took us to receive our items that we agreed upon. Thank you for your time and assistance on this matter. *** and David La Pone

Quote was 1720, almost double upon loading truck, items were not doubled. They're holding my items hostage.
Quote of service doubled without the material items to support it.
Contract issued over email, once movers arrived, loaded, I presented a proposed cost doubled from original quote.
This company received 1220 in cashier check.
Their process is 70 percent paid upfront and cannot be a credit card. I have nothing to prevent them from looking at the contract that they won't present me a bill upon arrival in Texas with yet more $$ needed. I don't have the Cubic feet on that truck that they're stating I do. The only difference to the inventory list from estimate, was my 2 dbl dressers were triples, I added to pole lamps , 1 plastic bin was larger than the others, so they pulled it out and 1 had a large box with my med boxes. However, some of my med boxes were smaller than others and one of my plastic container was smaller. This does not double CF.
Orig quote 1720
Now they quote 3649. If I had that quote from the beginning, I would have sold everything and not done this.
I do not feel this is right, I feel taken advantage of, they have my children's pictures held hostage. The items on that truck at not worth this price. I would not have gone forward with this is its was done up front. Movers came on 8/24, 8/25 I called Customer Service and was told I would be called, as of now no call.

Desired Outcome

Either have them keep my stuff, would like to be able to get some of my crates back- family photos and paperwork box. Let them keep the rest , pay no more $$ Or- Negotiate this down to 500 to be paid upon arrival and 400 to be charged on my credit card and the truck leaves now. Confirmed that I will not be charged anything else upon arrival. I will need a target of arrival, because I am afraid they will delay all of this. Originally, delivery was set for 9/2 - no later than 9/5.

Trans Van Lines Response

We have reviewed the Consumer complaint filed by *** against Trans Van Lines, regarding overcharge. We have also reviewed her pre-move estimate and pick-up paperwork relative to this matter.

We have confirmed that Consumer hired Trans Van Lines to perform a Long Distance move from Florida to Texas, commencing on 8/24/17. Prior to the move Consumer obtained a phone/email estimate based solely on her representation of the size/scope of services needed. The estimate clearly states "Trans Van Lines provides you as a customer an estimate based on the inventory list and information you provided your sales agent. It is your responsibility to make sure all items are listed on the inventory list on this estimate and that the information you provided your sales agent is accurate, such as size/dimension, accessibility to property at origin or destination. In case of exclusively large item, or additional items the cubic feet & price can change; an Origin/Destination Fee will be applied for additional cubic feet" & "All loose items must be packed in boxes in order to insure safe transportation to the new location on our truck. Packing performed by Trans Van Lines will require additional labor and material cost". On the day of pick-up Consumer's inventory changed, and a comparison of the estimate list to the actual pick-up Inventory List shows that she had extra/different items. She also required packing of some loose items. This caused the price of the move to increase, and Consumer was presented with a revised estimate which she accepted & signed thereby voiding and replacing any prior estimates. It was not until 8/28/17 (not 8/24, 8/25) that she contacted our Customer Care Dept. disputing the price of the move. We advised her that we would obtain all paperwork for her pick-up & do a comparison & get back to her within 3 business days. She did not wait for this at all, & in fact filed her Revdex.com complaint before ever asking for assistance. At this time we have spoken with Ms. & provided her a very significant discount strictly in the interest of good will as she has indicated that she does not have the money for the move. She had initially stated she wanted her shipment disposed of, but wanted some boxes with family photos. We explained that she would have to pay for the pick-up labor/materials, storage, and disposal, and then could not give her parts of the shipment. As such, the significant discount was provided in order to help Consumer complete delivery. At no time did the Business "hold the customer's shipment hostage" & it has been our intent from Day One to complete delivery of the goods, however when a Consumer does not have the means to pay for services used that becomes difficult. At this time Consumer has been sent an email confirming the discounted price of the move, along with payment instructions to complete the necessary deposit so that transport may be scheduled. Once we receive the deposit confirmation, her 14 business day delivery range will begin.

At this time this matter has been settled in full, with a substantial discount provided by Trans Van Lines, and no further compensation is due. We are awaiting Consumer's completion of deposit so that we may complete delivery of the goods to her. Please update your records accordingly and close this complaint as Resolve. Thank you.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We did come to agreement on price. They have the money upfront. I need to know when my stuff will be loaded on a truck.

I did contact the company via email was sent late on the same night my items were put on the truck, it was sent to Levi and no response.

Due to fear I contacted Revdex.com Sunday, after discussing this with my folks. Called them first thing on Monday.

Trans Van Lines Response

We have received the recent rebuttal filed by *** regarding her ongoing complaint against Trans Van Lines. We have confirmed that the Dispatch Dept. has sent Consumer an email on 9/6/17 advising the shipment was scheduled to load, and a follow-up/final email this morning confirming that the shipment was loaded & is en route. The driver will call Consumer the day before arrival to advise of the exact date/time frame for delivery.

At this time we respectfully request that this case be closed as Settled. Thank you, M. Lombardi, Director CPC

Desired Outcome

Want my money back and my belongings in there storeage.

Customer Response

They gave me my belongings and a check of money return.

No delivery date for my moved households from dispatch even after repeated reminders. Rude and unresponsive customer service.
I have moved from household stuff from Orlando to Chicago on July 30th. I was promised that as soon as I have my apartment they will move my stuff and dispatch within two-three days. I have been calling them since Aug 7th but till date Trans Vans has not confirmed the delivery date. Every day I have been told that the dispatch will get back to us in spite of repeated reminders and follow up calls I have still not got the date when my stuff will be moved. I have been dealing with a very unresponsive representative Mona and recently encountered a very ride customer service representative Kelcey.
I am currently paying more than $150 perday for my hotel stay because of Trans Vans inefficiency and lack of customer service. Trans vans is unable to keep their promise of delivery within 2-3 days after notification. This is not at all acceptable. Trans Vans should pay for my hotel stay and deliver the goods immediately.

PLease help me in this very stress full situation.

Thanks!

Horrible company. Very good salesman, who sold us a deal that was never honored by the company, and it was then impossible to talk again to said salesman ever again. The price agreed on was no longer accurate, we had to pay more and in cash in order to receive our stuff, and we had to spend hours and a whole weekend on the phone, trying to solve the nightmarish situation they created for us. And eventually hiring a Uhaul truck!!! Their customer care rep is a pitbull and a bully of a woman whose idea of problem solving is haranguing you...
