DO NOT PAY FOR THIS "SERVICE." FOR YOUR $27 YOU GET NOTHING!! THE SCANT INFORMATION THEY PROVIDE IS READILY AVAILABLE ON LINE - FOR FREE! YOU HAVE TO PAY ADDITIONAL FOR FURTHER INFO.
ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN CHARGED FOR THIS "SERVICE" SHOULD CALL THEIR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND REQUEST THE CHARGES BE REMOVED FROM YOUR CARD. THIS IS WHAT I DID, AND THE CHARGES WERE REMOVED.

This company does in fact do a monthly bill on your credit card. They also withhold some types of information until you allow them to charge more money on your card. All of the previous complaints I read are accurate in that respect. I spoke with a representative who was polite and helpful. You can call the business and they say they will remove the repeat billing. I'll repost if they do, in fact, remove it from my card.
My complaint is with the accuracy of their information. I did this check on myself, which I do this every couple of years, just to make certain everything is as it should be. Most of the information was accurate, but some was not. Most of what was wrong was no big deal, inaccurate addresses, etc. However, they said I had a criminal record, which I don't. It was recorded as a minor offense, but that is still unacceptable. It took me a couple of days to find the accurate information. I shouldn't have to spend my time and money to correct another person's mistake. I found the alleged court records for this "case," which was nothing more than a traffic ticket, which was paid on time. It was clearly marked, repeatedly, "non-criminal" charge.
The truthfinder representative told me that they could remove my records from their site, which he supposedly did. However, he informed me that it could be in other places if another business bought the same records they did. I asked where they had purchased that particular record and he said he didn't know. This is unacceptable.
This is fraud! This is liable! I will be reporting this company to my state Attorney General's office.

I got double-billed by Truthfinder, and had to call to straighten it out. Also cancelled my subscription, as the "report" was very scant on information -- everything is available on the Internet. Save your money, folks. Don't waste thirty dollars on this worthless site. Also note that Truthfinder.com is related to InstantCheckmate.com. Both are scams.

This is one of the most unethical businesses I have dealt with. There is no effort to remedy a customer complaint. Their "service" and "truth" in non-existent. The customer no-service agents would rather use circular reasoning than just have a cogent conversation and refund the money that is due for a poor service. I spoke with a manager named Ebony who stated she was really busy but the best she could do would be to refund my $2 for my nearly $30 wasted! Do NOT waste you money here. This "business" should be shut down!

You go to the site hoping to find info you can't elsewhere. You put in information about the person your looking for, it takes 3-4 minutes as it compiles a report. It says nothing about the need to PAY for the report until the end. Your only options to get the report are to pay $27/month for the service or pay more for a premium account - in both cases it states you will be billed each month UNLESS you call and cancel - Not customer focused!. So you pay the $27 for the report - and it says we can send you a PDF of the report - but it cost $2 (Huh? 2 bucks to send an email?). so I look at the report, and in the areas that are significant - it says you need to upgrade to the premium subscription in order to see - can you say BAIT and Switch. When I called the company - they told me that the "significant" information would show on the normal report if there was any info - so as a user of the site - I almost paid MORE money to see NO MORE information. Everything about this web site is about making money and fooling the customer - I recommend you STAY AWAY from these crooks!!

The web service is a waste of time and money. The data is inaccurate, outdated, incomplete. There is nothing positive to say about the website. I feel ripped off and believe the site has multiple sites that provide the same poor product.

I signed up for Truthfinder to get information. I paid $16.71 for unlimited use for one month. All I was able to get was an address and birth date and names of relatives. All other information was considered premium and had to paid for. As I remember they were asking for $14.99 to access each other parts of information for each person. I called immediately and they reluctantly removed the charge and cancelled my membership. I believe this is a very underhanded way of doing business.

It's a scam

I knew this was potentially a scam when I sought out a one time check of my rating to see what would come up. I figured I was out about $16 as a result, which I was fine with. Not only did I get signed up automatically for a subscription. When I noticed that this was the case, I immediately canceled. I have email proof that I would have this subscription cancelled and when I saw a pending charge that had yet to be billed on my Paypal account I called the company and was assured that it would be cancelled before I was billed the next day. Of course, no such thing happened and I disputed the charge. It is fairly ridiculous but not surprising that this a total and utter scam. I certainly do not plan on paying anything more even if I have to cancel the card associated with the billing, but too bad that this company is so dishonest.

Scam and ripoff, don't do it. I tried my own name to see if it was even close to accurate so that I could potentially use the service to get useful information on candidates seeking employment with my company. We already pay for an outside accredited background check service but we recently had an employee that passed the background check but turned out to have other issues not uncovered through that process. No mention of payment needed until the website churns through several questions and stages and at the end in order to see your report you are asked for payment, either $26 for 1 month unlimited reports or 3 months for $20/month. As soon as I clicked the 1 month option it tells me that I need to pay another $3 for downloading a PDF copy. Then as I look at the report there is nothing there of any use to me but if I pay ANOTHER $22 I can get additional information not included in the base report (FUNNY THIS IS THE FIRST MENTION THAT MY $29 WAS PAYING FOR BASIC INFORMATION) and that I would need to upgrade to premium to get useful information. I called immediately to cancel my subscription and demand a refund but predictably was put on a automated system and a hold queue. WILL GO TO SOCIAL MEDIA DESCRIBING MY EXPERIENCE UNLESS I AM GIVEN A FULL REFUND BY THE END OF BUSINESS EST TODAY 9/29/2016.

Truthfinder Inc. should be shut down immediately as a fraudulent entity.
When one wishes to check public records and it's offered FREE from an initial website from which the search begins, then is directed to Truthfinder via a direct link, the outcome should be as one expects...FREE!, but it's not. Caveat emptor!
Total waste of 15 minutes of intrusive questions and unnecessarily slow processing, while giving the impression of big data accessing for accuracy...but, you're being duped.
Total sham, scam, or whatever is suitable label for Truthfinder.com

This site was extremely disappointing. I wasted 15 minutes waiting for everything to load for the site to bring me to a page to pay $30 a month for my report. Extremely misleading!! The site should have been upfront about the fee.

Once a report is generated, there are extraneous info not needed. When contacted, the robot tells you how to cancel. However, when the directions are followed, there is no refund. The account was canceled in less than 2 hours due to info that was already obtained for free. Then when calling a rep, you find out that you have paid for the service for the expected 3 months and that you still have access and they won't renew AFTER the 3 months. So I paid for 3 months of irrelevant information.

I'm a disabled person, and I was looking up information who has been stalking me and my daughter for a long time.I accepted a membership from Truth Finder for only one report.I was not aware how the process worked .I thought I was getting a copy of my request in the mail.I ended up in the hospital a month after I had contacted Truth finder and was charged twice until my bank stopped the second billing.Thank God my bank was aware that I was in the hospital and was not able to access my computer.I will never ever recommend any of my friends, or family to ever use this site. This is a major rip off and as a consumer I was ripped off. This is a major financial burden as I'm disabled and cannot afford to re-activate my account to get the original report. This is Consumer Fraud at it's best.

Don't be fooled this is not a free service. The fee shows up at the end.

All I needed was a date of what year I declared bankruptcy for a job application that asked the question... Since it had been over 13 years ago, I didn't recall, my carelessness. You go to look up yourself, and it takes an outrageous time to load, and won't give you anything, until you pay $32 and change. Then it is stuff right out of public domain, and another mystery amount to "upgrade" to know any data that is financial. If my home computers hadn't crashed and lost data... I wouldn't have needed to poke around online. This is a honey trap website, that searches data bank after data bank and puts nothing there for you to see, unless you pay, then there is no "financial data" unless you pay more. I am surprised that someone answered the phone number when I called to complain.

Truthfinder.com is a waste of time and money. I searched for myself and basically the profile gave me all my residences since I was an adult which were not all correct, my birthday, 2 traffic tickets in my lifetime (not even all traffic tickets), and my astrological sign. It did not show my professional license, no websites I am on (so easy to find me, not like I'm hiding them), only one email address of which I have several, it did not show my divorce, no phone numbers, or all of my brothers. It also asked for additional money for information that site said it would provide in the initial search. Basically this site scammed me out of $28.00
TOTAL RIPOFF!

They are very misleading... leading one to believe full reports will be obtained for a fee, only to get useless information and have to pay more again to get the full reports.
