Two Men and A Truck Reviews (971)

I was quoted a 6 to 8 hour move for my 1700 sqft apartment. A local 9 mile move. It was the most horrific moving day I have every experienced. They broke, damaged and lost items. It took them 16, yes SIXTEEN hours. They are refusing to negotiate a reasonable amount, refusing to replace my torn and damaged bed, and the owners are refusing to talk to me about it. The GM, [redacted] said he would not send them my email and that they would not be calling me.

I completed a move using this company on 18 March 2013. During the move, an item was damaged as a result of lack of padding. When the movers unloaded the item (a coat rack) we inspected it and determined that a damage report was warranted. I was told I would be contacted by the company on how repairs/reparations would be handled. I was contacted by voice mail that the company would not reimburse me because the driver had stated on the damage form that the item was made of particle board, therefore not covered. This was written on the form after the driver left my residence. My copy of the form does not include this caveat. I called the company and explained that the item is not particle board, and that the document had been modified after I had signed it. I was informed at that time that a technician would contact me within 2 days to schedule repair. I have not heard from the company since that date, 22 March. I wrote the corporate headquarters on 3 April, requesting that they resolve the issue within 10 days, but received no reply. I have written them again to request they reply within one week, a screen shot of the corporate feedback page can be provided upon request. I am also able to provide pictures of the damaged item.

I hired Two Men and a Truck to move my furniture two blocks. I have moved more thirty times in forty years. I have never damaged any of my personal items during my own move. I was a professional mover for over twelve years working for my grandfather's moving company. I packed a box with Chinese vases costing over $1,300.00. I marked the boxs "Fragile, This side up, and identified the box contents as Chinese Vases". When I unpacked the box contaning the Vases, all the vase's were damaged and broken beyond repair. I went to the office of Two Men and a Truck to complain only to be told there wasn't anything they could do regarding the Chinese vases. I find this unacceptable. It has taken me over three months to calm down enough to contact the Revdex.com. The Movers were not professional. They do NOT know how to move items. The only means of moving items to the truck by the movers was by using a hand truck. Not one item was moved by hand regardless of fragile marked items. Even my chine hutch which is a fine furniture piece was broken. I asked the movers to take the enterance door off to make it wider to get the large items through without maring the walls or furniture. This request was ignored. The walls were marred.

The movers were over a half hour late and showed up at the wrong address, despite the fact that they were given timely address information from us. Our Play Station 3 and monster cable disappeared. Patrick (Manager) repeatedly would say he would contact me on how to file a claim. I was the one always chasing him down. He made promises to call me and failed to deliver at least three times. He told me on 6/1/2011, that the company would not reimburse me in any way for our missing Play Station 3 and monster cable. He had led me on to believe the company would probably compensate us by buying us a used Play Station on Ebay or some other place like Ebay.

Patrick claims I need to file a report with the police. I spent over 20 years in the Air Force and never had to file a police report for missing items when I had movers come and pack my things up and move my household goods to my new location. What really concerns me is that the company never did an inventory on my household goods--now they can claim they never saw my missing items. This company should be more responsible and accountable. Asheville and the surrounding area deserve to know they will not be cheated by this moving company. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Shame on Two Men and a Truck in Fletcher, NC.
