Valet Movers Reviews (114)

We are sorry for any inconvenience and want Mr. [redacted] to understand that this is the 1st we are hearing about his damaged items. We have a claims process that we will get started for him. We will contact Mr. [redacted] and
have a claims process opened so we can reimburses him for the damages.

I guess everything is on going but I haven't heard anything from anyone concerning my claim and any settlement.  I have been contacting them by email and no respond. I will let you know for sure once I hear from them.
Thank you,[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details below: Again, I do not accept Valet Movers response. They wrote out our agreement with the payments and they did not pay me with absolutely no communication in August 2016. I tried calling, emailing, and even texting the owner with absolutely no reply since August 2016 until now February 2017 because I reached out to Revdex.com. Our legal agreement states the full payment was due in 0ct 15, 2016. I didn't receive it and now it is five months late. I have bills I need to pay as well. I didn't have the money for my emergency move from California to Florida when I hired Valet Movers, but they still wanted payment and so I payed them. I had no option but to put it on my credit card knowing I would get charged high interest on it. Valet Movers didn't accept payment plans and I'm sure they wouldn't have been okay of I told them I would pay them six months later with only partial payment. They demanded I pay them and so I did. And now I want the money that was owed to me per our agreement. I have bills and debt I need to pay that I was counting on with the money that was promised to me per our signed legal agreement. They don't have any integrity, and I no longer trust their word as they did not do what our agreement stated. I want my payment in full as requested. It was due 6 months ago.

Dear Revdex.com,           I was responding to this complaint regarding our customer.  The way that we give an estimate to a customer is based on the item list that customer provides.  Based on that we take the item list and enter it into the...

computer to give the customer their estimate.  When the foreman showed up on the day of the move the customer had additional boxes compared to the list that we confirmed with the customer over the phone.   Based on these additional items, the foreman gave the new quote to the customer, which is a binding quote.   Customer complained that for some reason the driver said there was less space on the truck than the space that we charged him for.   The way that we work, we do not charge for space, we charged only based on the item list.  Even if the customer took up more space on the truck, the quote would still stay the same because it was a binding estimate based on the item list.  We will try to contact customer and resolve the misunderstanding.  Please let us know if you need any kind of information from us regarding this issue.                            Thank You,                                      ... This is in regard to the preposterous response that Valet Movers sent to the Revdex.com regarding my complaint. It would be a gross understatement to say the Valet Movers is obfuscating realty in their outlandish reply. For example, they begin with a befuddled claim that they charge solely on the basis of an estimated item list and seem particularly concerned with the number of boxes that are shipped. My complaint concerns the fact that I was grossly overcharged based on the actual cubic footage of my household, which they fraudulently inflated for their benefit. Indeed, Valet Mover’s INTIAL estimate was greater than what I actually had and they further increased it by a very significant amount after they had loaded everything in their truck. It cannot be contested that Valet Movers lied to the Revdex.com in their statement that, “The way that we work, we do not charge for space, we charged only based on the item list.” This is an egregious lie based on their own documentation. At the time of their initial estimate, they asked how many boxes I had. I did not know an exact number as others had packed the storage unit in which my belongings had been placed and I told them the approximate size of how much space was used. They insisted upon a box count instead and based their (obviously bogus) estimate on how many boxes they thought I had and then calculated an inflated size for those boxes based on what they thought were in storage. What is most important to note, however, is they are clearly hiding their deceitful practices by changing the unit of measure that is used as the basis of their charges. It cannot be contested that cubic feet (volume), NOT number of boxes, is the unit of measure to charge their customers - to claim otherwise is simply nonsense.  As noted in their initial “estimate,” their estimated volume of my goods was 1000 cubic feet. That “estimate” (attached to this response) very clearly notes that I was to be charge $4.25 per CUBIC FOOT. Given that the delivery driver was absolutely certain that I only had 825 cubic feet, even Valet Mover’s INITIAL “estimate” was inflated. As also noted on Valet Mover’s initial estimate (again, see attached), “The estimate above is a binding estimate based on the item list that you provided. Any additional items will/may result in additional cost. Additional CUBIC FEET [emphasis added] will be charged at the same rate.” Valet Mover’s is obviously lying to the Revdex.com. At the time the movers showed up to load up the truck from my storage unit, they loaded up all of my belongings and then told me that I had an astounding 1,400 cubic feet – based on their new “estimate.” Furthermore, they required that I go to the bank, obtain a cashier’s check, and pay the difference for the additional cubic feet (NOT number of boxes) before they would move their now-loaded truck. I can provide additional documentation regarding this fact. Given that I had significantly LESS than the ORIGINAL estimate, let alone their new obscenely over-inflated estimate, it is plainly evident the Valet Movers intentionally engages in fraud. Finally, I can’t help but note their disingenuous claim that they “will try to contact customer and resolve the misunderstanding.” I have been trying, since August, to get a response from them with no success. Six full days have now passed since I was notified that Valet Movers had responded (after one failed attempt) to the Revdex.com and I have received absolutely NO COMMUNICATION, of any kind from them. I again demand to be reimbursed $2443.75 for their deplorable and unethical business practices.

I do not accet this.  Yes  i did added some boxes. why was the original boxes was not included to the shipping?
why was the mover picked up some shipment from different city when mine scheduled to be picked up in an arrange time?
Why was the mover pick up the boxes asked for cash and did not put on the reciept?
why did they call it  a tip w/out me knowing it?
it was my fault that I didnt really look at the delivery date because I assume that when I asked the agent, she mention 3 to 4 days.
why  am i being  passed around when I was  calling the phone# that [redacted] provided on her email on the 8th saying that the shipment was shipped?
why was it shipped on the 8th when they pick it up on the 4th? (I wouldnt hire them if I knew)
why they didnt notify me that the shipment wont leave the same day but after 4 days?
it was a very dissapointed doing busines with Valet movers.
[redacted] the agent was very very very rude.
They stress me out and I feel that I was taking advantage.
I was mentally  and emotionally hurt by this company.
and like mention on my email. if I didnt have a friend to help me pay them with more money when they deliver the shipment,  I will end up not getting my shipment at all and will cost me more money for re-deliver it to me. it was a nightmare not able to ask question to a customer service (agent [redacted]) what to do whats going on because she rudely hang up on me.
They can measure the area where I live why the truck could not come to the front of my house. Because I feel that again, this company just basically take advantage of me.

Started out good, then went down hill with this company. They came to our home and took an inventory of all the items that were to be moved. Furniture, boxes, etc... Gave me an estimate of $$. Ok. Not bad price. Then moving day came. Mind you, I only had to buy about 15 more SMALL boxes. They charged almost $1000 more for that. I couldn't believe what I had just heard! They claimed on their sheet that we had over 300 boxes. NEVER in my life have I EVER bought 300 boxes. 60-80 at most. THEN, the man in charge asked me what day to deliver. I knew that the paper said 10-14 business days for our delivery. BUT, I told him that coming Sunday. He asked what time. I said we'd get to our new place around noon. He said, lets just make the delivery for Monday so our guys won't have to "wait around" for you if you're not there at noon. Now that to me sounds like they are going to start the drive that weekend. Monday came and still no delivery. I called the company and they told me that our items were in San Diego! WHAT??? I informed her that the man in charge told us that they are going to be delivering our items Monday. Her response "I don't know why he would say that to you". Had that man told us our items were not going to be delivered until a week later we would not have packed our baby's bed, swing, bedding and would also have held onto some dishes. I was FURIOUS!! Movers finally made it a week later and we were lucky to have them haul our belongings. They told us that our exercise machine was still in the corner of the storage area in San Diego and that the people had placed someone else's machine into our van. Thank goodness they caught that! Our machine cost thousands of dollars!! Not only did we almost get some piece of crap machine but we are missing lots of our boxes. I am so mad for using this company. NEVER will I recommend to anyone.

FIRST, I could not open the attachment as a .msg file.  However, I did review the Tempurpedic website and saw this:
Folding during moving
If needed, you can fold your Tempur-Pedic mattress to make it easier to move. Fold it with the TEMPUR® side (top) in.
About folding and cold weather
If the mattress sits in cold weather (below 50°F) folded, do not try to force it to lay flat. It may take a few hours, depending on the temperature of the room, but the mattress will naturally unfold as it warms up.
Transporting or storing
When transporting or storing your mattress, lay the mattress flat—not on its side or folded.
Please note the last portion: WHEN TRANSPORTING OR STORING YOUR MATTRESS, LAY THE MATTRESS FLAT- NOT ON ITS SIDE OR FOLDED.  When the mattress was unloaded from the truck, it was duct-taped in half.

SECOND, I think the best way to proceed here would be to discuss what Valet Movers believes to be a fair settlement, instead of getting sidetracked in debating whether my items were actually damaged.  They were, and I have the photos and email documentation to substantiate that.  What is your proposed settlement?

Mr. [redacted],
We want to apologize for the fact that you are dissatisfied with our service. Due to the high volume of customers we move in the summer months, we are sometimes unable to send out items as quickly as some of our customers would like. However, we prepare our customers for...

this scenario by including the possible time frame in our contract, 21 business days. We also confirm the customer's understanding of this time frame over the phone the day before we pick up the customer's items.
In some unforeseen instances, delivery can be pushed back beyond the 21 business day time frame and we refund the customer for every business day that delivery is late. It seems the confusion in your particular case stems from the understanding of what we are referring to as a business day. Our contract refers to a business day in the legal sense or the general explanation of a business day which includes Monday through Friday. You mentioned being told that our office is open on weekends. This is true only for the purpose of customer service questions or issues that we can address from the office. However, regardless of this fact, the same definition of a business day applies. This would work the same way if we were to, for example, close our office entirely for a full week. If we did, Monday through Friday of that week would still be counted as business days. This does not change whether we are open or not.
Therefore, our offer of a $60 refund covers the length of 2 business days. If your items were delivered on Saturday, June 6th, your delivery was late by 2 business days. We hope this clarifies the situation for you a bit more.
Thank you,
Valet Movers

I can not believe that they are legally permitted to work. They broke and scratch almost every thing I had. My outfit was mixed with electronics and everything was boxed in tall boxes impossible to reach. My China dishes were mixed with printer and DVD player in the same box without any protection. I only received dust of China off course.

After all the trouble and lost of my belongings, $140.00 is not an acceptable amount. As mentioned , you company admitted on  earlier response of having my vacuum and step stool and said they would deliver it to me, which YOUR COMPANY  DID NOT ATTEMPT TO DELIVER IT. SO YOU LIED ABOUT IT.Since your company lost my items, I will settle of $200.00. If you reject this I WILL POST THIS ON YELP and make a complaint to FMCSA. I expect an answer within 5 years.

A sorry is not going to cut it. This company lied to me about their packing services and how our move would be handled. For them to say that they are a certified and licensed moving comapny is complete joke. They treated my stuff with no care and threw my belongings in a boxes wih out proper wrapping and care. If I would have know that I would be paying 700 dollars to have my belongings thrown in a box and damaged and broken I would have just paid a homeless person half as much and got the same result. There response saying they didn't know is a lie and for them to say that they would start a claim is joke becuase I have yet to be contacted. And furthermore their joke of a claim will not cover damages or lost articles. On top of the damages there packing service did not inventory what they threw in boxes so now that things are missing we have no way of showing proof of what was in the box. If they would have just packed my things properly like I was told they would do, we wouldn't be in this mess. I still want a refund for the packing service and will not be satisfied till valet movers is ready to discuss a refund. I am more then ready to take this to court if need be, I'm sure the greater San Diego area and fellow military members will e glad to know not to use this shady, irresponsible moving company. I will be filing a complaint with my military chain of command in order to get help from base legal services.

This is regarding compliant from our customer [redacted]. On April 4, 2015 we picked up her belongings from Calif. Customer informed us that the earliest date for delivery would be April 5th. We as a company try to do the best we can to make the customer happy by shipping her belongings as fast...

can. Unfortunately we did not have any trucks available going in her direction (MA). Customer called the office and spoke with the supervisor and informed him that she's has a 10 month old baby and all of his belongings are in the boxes. The supervisor shipped her belongings with a truck that was going in the direction of New York. From New York we had additional costs to send an exclusive truck to her destination in MA. Also, the customer had no access for an 18 wheeler at her destination and was not charged any additional shuttle fees which usually is an additional $400 fee. We understand the customer loss and damage and we will be happy to work with her to assure her claim is taken care of. We provided info to the customer to our claims department for loss and damaged items. As far as delivery, we do inform the customers that out of state delivery is approximately 10 to 14 business days and can take up to 21 business days from the first available date requested by the customer (It is noted on the contract ). The first available date was 4/5/15 and delivery was received on 4/27/15. We did not exceed the 21 business days for delivery to her destination. We will be happy to help the customer with her claim of the lost/damage item(s). Customer should contact our claims department to begin her claim process. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused Ms. [redacted] and her family. Please let us know if you need any more information.Valet Movers  customer care .

Complaint Type:  Service Issues
Problem:  This is my second complaint. I closed the first because the company stated they would comply with my claim for damaged items and they have not. I have many damaged and "lost' items that have not been reimbursed. This company is avoiding having t  pay out for their mistake. There is a 90 day claim period that they are obviously trying to let lapse so that they can not be held liable.
Desired Resolution: Refund
Desired Outcome:   I want to be reimbursed for my damaged and missing items.

The business charge me extra but the majority of my belongings didn't make it to my home. I'm trying to make the claim og my missing items but the receipt they are asking for is in the black suitcase that they took from my inventory.  I  want reimbursement from them for the extra charge they charge me and all the stress snd frustration they put me in. I will never get back what I lost due to the negligence of this company.
