Valet Movers Reviews (114)

In short, Ms. [redacted] did not inform us that she had more
items that she was taking other than what was already reflected on her estimate.  This contributed to the additional charges.  As far as the $100.00, we were under the
impression that we had rectified the issue when we refunded the money to Ms.
[redacted].  The long carry at delivery can
happen at any time that the driver cannot park their tractor trailer close to a
customer’s residence.  Unless a customer
knows for certain that a truck of that size cannot safely park near their
residence, Valet Movers has no way to predict that long carry charges will be
incurred.
Delivery dates are based on the customers first available date of
delivery.  In this case Ms. [redacted]’ was
on January 6th.  We tell our
customers that it could be anywhere from 10 – 14 business days from that date
for delivery, but that on rare occasions it can take up to 21 business days,
depending on the availability of a truck.
We were well within the 10-14 days as we delivered Ms. [redacted]’
belongings on January 13th.
We have sent her claim to Anthem Claim Management.  And they will be contacting her for further
information.
We are sorry if Ms. [redacted] felt like she was being treated
poorly.  We will speak with all employees
that have been in contact with Ms. [redacted], so that in the future these types
of issues do not happen again.
Attached is a copy of Ms. [redacted]’ Moving Estimate where she initialed
that she understood that there could potentially be additional charges at
delivery as well as the out of state delivery time frame.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This is response is not true.  I called and said I was taking another company, the owner asked to come back and gave another bod. I did have less than the first but not as little as he said.  The only other calls I made were regarding the arrangements for pick up.  They did pay the cost of the deliver but a week later another carrier with the same size truck delivered within my complex.  The trucking company he contracted with may be an issue but that is his problem.  I cannot make a claim if they don’t answer their phones!

WARNING do not use. THEFT by contractors. No office just a PO box, They do not own their own trucks. They hire outside contractors to drive.
First, when your crew came to load us onto the moving truck, they ended up putting items on their truck that were against a wall in our home that I showed the head guy that these were all items NOT to put on the rented truck, that we were taking them ourselves - because these were valuable and precious to us. These consisted of: boxes of liquor, including an extremely expensive box of Louis XIII cognac. Also it's strange that 2 large boxes of valuable electronics never made it. 3/4 of the way through your crew's loading our items, we realized our 3 boxes of expensive liquor, which we indicated WE would take with us, in our car, were gone - supposedly "already on the truck" and too small and too late to find them to take off truck. We even said you are not able by law to take liquor on the truck. They just winked and shrugged. The head guy said too that they had already put them the truck already and couldn't be taken off, it was too difficult. At that point we had no choice but to trust your crew that they would arrive to us safely. Which they didn't. Those liquor boxes never made it to our new home. Bear in mind, to repeat, we designated those liquor boxes to NOT go on the rented moving truck - but your employees said they put them on there. And now they are nowhere to be found. They were not even listed on the pickup order. When we demanded an answer they just said just sign, we have to go, this is my FIRST time we are both working for Valet and have never filled in the agreements before. When we acquired counsel, they stated that the filled in agreements were illegible .
Secondly, at the end of loading up their truck, the head moving guy said we had something like 45 EXTRA boxes more than what my wife and I hadn't accounted for! We were astounded and confused, plus the writing on his paperwork listing all items was pretty much illegible so one couldn't coordinate what he with what he was telling us about all of these "extra boxes". At that point, the head Valet mover guy admitted he was "new" and had just started and wasn't sure how "this all works". Unbelievable.
Even the different unloading/mover guys (contractors, not employees) that actually delivered the items to us, and unloaded them, couldn't make any sense of the packing list that Valet Movers' guy wrote. They also literally said it was the worst inventory move list they had EVER seen as it was mostly illegible.
We called Valet as soon as we began a thorough unpacking, noting what was missing and have been calling Valet weekly EVER since, only to be told "we are still looking" and when they find them they would call. A employee Ria, stated that if we wanted to come to San Diego to check the warehouse ourselves, she would schedule it. I went only to find a PO Box. I even left messages Joe, (owner) to please call me regarding this matter -- and NEVER even got a phone call from you. Rachel has never returned calls again after our initial calls. It is very apparent that if these items went to the wrong client, they would have been reported. At this point we see this situation as a theft, especially the liquor boxes -- which are extremely valuable and were only in their liquor "gift box" not packed in a moving box.

We apologize for the frustrations Ms. [redacted] has suffered, but we are doing our best to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, there are some items that are missing at this moment, but we are doing our best to get all of Ms. Fowler's items to her. We have located the large piece of furniture that Ms....

[redacted] is referring to and it will be delivered shortly. As far as Ms. [redacted] being blamed or having to track us down, we are not sure where this accusation comes from. Ms. [redacted] continues to call us for updates and we continue to answer and we continue to do our best to solve her problem.
Thank you,
Valet Movers

Complaint

My belongings were picked up on 4/4/15 (moving from CA to MA), with my first available delivery day of 4/5/15. I was told that it would be 10-14 days for delivery. My items did not even leave California until 4/17. The manager called and apologized and said he would do whatever he could to get my...

items as fast as possible. I told him of our urgent need due to us having a 10 month old son. Thursday 4/23 I was told my items would arrive Sunday as early as possible. Sunday afternoon I was told they were held up and don't be able to come until Monday. Monday I never heard from them so I had to call and now being told he's still in New York! Worst service I've ever had. I'm being plain out lied to. I've had to buy all new things having to live weeks without our belongings. I can only imagine the shape my things will be in if they ever arrive. They have 3 more days until they are in violation of our contract.

Desired Resolution

I want to be reimbursed for all of the things I've had to spend money on. The stress and money spent have been unbelievably great.
