July 19, 2023. I have been with Summitt/Wyo Law Firm since May of 2019. I had 5 bills, and they were taking 499.13 a month out of my checking account, my debt was less as there was no more interest, so they say. 2 bills have been paid around 5000.00 or so. They tell me I have 5700.00 in my bank, they have told me everytime I call that I have 5700.00 in my bank. I called on 6/28/23 and spoke to A.J. and she stated to me that my program was finished as of July 2023. I asked her about still owing money, she told me that at the beginning of the program, the credit companies made an agreement with Summit/Wyo law firm, that they were trying to get 1 debt down 80% and another debt down 75%, that would cover what is in my bank and I was finished with the program and my last payment would be in July of 2023. she also stated she would send all the info on my case within 24 hours as that is their timeline. Still have not received anything via email or regular mail. So I call back on 7/10/23 and spoke to someone else she stated that my program would be finished in August of 2023 and she would send me the info that is supposed to be sent to me in June within 24 hours, still have not received anything, asked to speak to a Manager and the manager said that 1 debt would be in agreement this month (July) and another one would come to an agreement in October 2023. nothing about the 5th debt at all. where did my money go?
They just took my money. So as I see it 1/2 or more of the 499.13 a month for 4 years has gone in Summitt/wyo Law firm pockets. I was also told by the manager that my July and Aug payment was 249 and change, but the payments have to go back up to the 499.13.I really need some help, they are taking most of my monthly money and I cannot afford any help. I only clicked on a star to submit this review. they should not have any stars. Anyone need debt help DO NOT USE WYO LAW FIRM.

Class-Action Lawsuit Needed for this company
Not even worth a star to be honest!
I enrolled to Summit Law/Wylo Law, LLC back in 2018. They would "settle" small-balanced accounts which technically were just forced closed accounts. Consumers are advised to stop paying the accounts but rather route the payments to them for "negotiations handling". The account then goes to collection agency & since consumers are excluded on any legal communications filled by the collection agencies, the account goes to a default judgment against their client. They would pretend urgency when contacted at this point including file-assignment to a lawyer which should have been done as soon as a suit is filed against the client but they would claim not receiving any of the legal-fillings. When you contact the "lawyer", you would get pretty much ge the "Let me call them for you" or "I can do this/that for you" but when you follow up the next day, they have done absolutely nothing. Going through with this company has pretty much resulted into; a bank levy, 2 wage garnishments and few more loans than I had in order to recuperate from the legal actions against me. The only thing that would happen on "Welcome Packet" is them drafting your money to them. Whether on a state level or federal level, this type of company & operation needs to STOP and be SHUTDOWN.

Wyolaw is operating against FTC and Comsumer Protection regulations.
First and most importantly it is clearly stated in FTC (Federal Trade Commision) and Consumer Protection Agency (along with telemarketing) regulations that it is ILLEGAL to collect upfront (or front load) fees into a program for debt resolution. FTC was updated as of 2010 so Wyolaw is knowingly breaking the law by collecting fees from clients before any debts are resolved. Look up that facts and you will see. They can only, by law, collect fees (a % of) after each debt is settled. We only became aware of this after we had to terminate our program after being with them since Dec. 2018 and only seeing 3 of our 7 debts being settled and paying them more than $13000 in fees and charges. DO NOT use them for any kind of debt settlement as they are breaking the law by charging you and collecting fees regardless of any action to settle debts by them. We have filed a complaint with the FTC and the Wyoming State Attorney General's Office as they are a Wyoming based company. In fact, they have been under investigation by Wyoming's SAG office since 2019 for numerous consumer complaints. You can look that up also. Bottom line is they take your money with no real incentive to do what they promise, and they are breaking the law by doing this.

Since posting this review I have been in contact with Wyolaw and was offered a settlement for refund of fees paid to them for the program. We accepted the settlement on April 16, 2023 and consider the issue closed.

Avoid this company at all costs.
I cannot even begin to tell you how unhappy I am with their "services". Our relationship started off great they moved quickly once I built a balance and got several things paid off quickly. BUT... they ignored a subpoena I sent them THREE YEARS AGO and now I have a wage garnishment - which literally in this economy is sending me to bankruptcy. I've been calling for WEEKS to get action on the wage garnishment, and I keep being told it's in negotiations. THERE IS NO SENSE OF URGENCY. THERE IS NO RESPONSE. THERE IS NOTHING.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

They did me an injustice!
We started our program for (4) years and hardly any of our debts were paid. Wyolaw was continuing to take money out almost $600.00 every month! My credit reports are suffering because of this company and I am going to report them to the BBB! Take our advice please stay clear of this company! Mrs. Dorothy E. Boring

I signed up with Summit law firm which is Wyo law back in December 2018 they promised to negotiate my 3 credit card debts totaling just over $20,000.00. its been the same so don’t and dance as others have reported stop paying the credit cards. I made monthly payments of $381 monthly for 42 months and given them over $16,000 only to have just 2 of the 3 credit cards negotiated for a little more than $5,000.00 total which was finally paid off in April 2021. For the next 12 months they had collected money and still have not negotiated my last debt. I contacted them in May when my last payment was due to find out when they were going to contact the creditor. Since then I have not received a phone call or email from them until yesterday when they texted me to let me know that they would start taking more money out of my account. When I called to find out what was going on and why they would be taking money out of my checking accounts the representative said I did not have enough funds to negotiate and that they would need me to keep paying them on a monthly basis. When I asked how much more money did they need I couldn’t get a straight answer. I asked if they contacted the creditor yet they said no. I asked how can you just determine that you need more money from me if you don’t know what the creditor expects me to pay them. That is when she put another representative on the phone and all I got from him was the same run around that they probably would expect me to pay nothing less than 85% of the bill which was about $8000. So out of the $16,000.00 I’ve paid them minus the $5,500.00 given to the other 2 creditors and all I have left in my account is $3.382.37 when has the rest gone. The $7000.00 some dollars that you took from me. I want my money back from these people that have lied and ruined my credit. They don’t deliver what they promise.

Very unprofessional experance
I started in September 2018 with 3 credit card debts. At the first anniversery I was told they had to raise my rates by $100.00. Hard to do but I agreed. The next anniversary came and the lawyer assigned to my account called to check in and mentioned that the Chase account had not been negociated. He was going to check. No call back. A couple of months latter I received a letter from Chase wanting to settle my debt. I forwareded it to Wyolaw customer service. During a follow up call to them I was told that Wyolaw often waits to the end to negociate with Chase "as they are so easy to work with". I was assured that I would not owe any more money after September 15 2021. I was sent another letter from Chase to settle my debt. I sent it on to Wyolaw. Again called in and was told the negociation was ongoing. When September 16 came I called to confirm we were done. At that time I was told that my other two accounts were going to be settled but Chase was not even started. I spoke to a manager who said they were working on it but of all the money I sent in Chase was not paid for. At that time I was given a choice if I wanted to continue to work through Wyolaw to pay off the Chase bill. I said no. I would work with them directly. As I had already paid Wyolaw to negciate for me they would continue on the negociations. I was told that I had $220.00 left in my account after the other bills were paid. And I would get it as a check. I called again after not hearing anything and again was asked if I wanted to pay Chase through Wyolaw. I said absolutly not. I called again after no update on the settlement and that lady actually filled out a form saying I wanted to pay Chase directly. She mentioned that the amount in my account was now $180.00. After this my assigned attorney from Wyolaw called to check in. I told him what had happen and he looked at my account and said I had paid enough to settle with Chase and not pay anymore. He said he would look into it and call me back. He never did. I called again after I received a letter from Wyolaw that had an attached form that would not pull up. I called in and explained that I was waiting for a settlement update and thought the form was that. That customer service representative assured me I should receive the form in a week. That was Thanksgiving. I called back yesterday and was told that your company was set to start drawing payments for the Chase settlement. I asked to speak to a manager and was refused. That customer service representative assured me she was trying to halt the draws and her manager was going to look into the settlement. She said there would be an update in a week to 10 days. I am utterly disappointed with Wyolaw and will never allow anyone I have contact with to work with them.

I've been enrolled in their debt relief program for over 18 months. To date, they've only settled 1 out of 3 debts. I haven't received any feedback from this company since January 2020. I've tried reaching out via email; I get an automated reply or no reply at all. I've tried contacting the company via phone; the automated attendant tells me that I'm #1 in the queue for over 30 minutes and then disconnects me.

I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me FOR NOW. I have a 20 month history of poor communication from this company, however for this issue, they have reached out to me and answered all my questions. I now have a direct line of communication with a specific representative who should be able to assist me if future issues arise.

I hired WyoLaw Firm to handle problems associated with my credit. It is a debt modification company. However, I have been grossly misrepresented. In the year that I have been using their services, they have not settled any of my prior debt cases. they have received upward of 10,000 from me and they have yet to settle a case. They have had four different attorneys represent me. However, they are hard to reach and normally have no prior knowledge of my past cases. I feel that their servies are misrepresented.

We have resolved this matter to the clients satisfaction

We had a financial hardship during 2019 due to health problems. Therefore , we were looking for a solution rather than file a bankruptcy. We decided to work with Wyolaw LLC since their program was comfortable with our current situation. I had agreement on $ 16,399.00 total debt to be decreased $ 6,887.58 with monthly payments of $320.01. Wyolaw LLC (Summit Law) claimed that they were going to take care of all the aspects of the case legally with creditors and to resolve all the debt negotiations in 6-9 months. The first payment of $320.01 was pulled from bank account 02/28/19 and every month since. So far they have only negotiated one debt and not in paid in full amount , and not able to get payments information towards to this negotiation from them also . The company had not done anything any of the other accounts that was in the agreement. We made numerous calls the Wyolaw LLC regarding other creditors threading phone calls and courts papers towards to us. However , since February 2019 , nothing has been done. It has been a very stressful and painful path we have been going through as a family.
When I called last month regarding all this issue , they could not give a reasonable answers as always, and I decided to terminate the service since they did not do any of the settlements with creditors as promise and dealing with harassing calls from creditors. I have been told that I will get the refund of the payments. AS 08/03/20 after 18 month of payments of $320.01 ( total of $5760) and received a check for $65.84 as a refund and my credit score went down 250. Since then , I made multiple phone calls to company regarding refund and requested details of settlement with one debt, however , they have not provided any information so far.
This company is criminally negligent as they are promising a service they cannot possibly deliver - they create a debt settlement that you cannot pay because they have taken all of your money in the meantime without explanation.
It has been a night mare caused by the company who takes advantage of the people who are seeking a solution for their financial hardship. It should be stopped!!!

Good morning, My name is *** , and I made a complaint against the wyolaw LLc. The company offered a settlement and I would like to inform you that we are going to accept their offer . I would like to thank everyone who helped and worked on our case speacially Mr.Clay.Have a wonderful day

I signed up with Summit LawFirm in December of 2017. I began making payments of 361.58 on 4/1/19. When I set all of this up they asked if I had an account that I would like to be paid off first. I did, I requested it because I did not want it to be on someone else's credit report. In a year and a half they have collected all of their fees. They began settlements with two of my accounts. One was for $400 and it still isn't paid off. Now that I am questioning that they are paying themselves first for a job that they have not completed they are placing me on hold for over thirty minutes. They are saying that they cannot work on the small $700 payoff due to another one that they are working on. With the money that I have given them they should have been able to make more progress on my accounts. I was promised that my credit would start improving within a year.

We are working with the client to resolve this matter to their satisfaction. At this point the matter is not resolved

This company collected funds from us on a monthly basis for 16 months. We paid this company over $8500 for "services" to this company. The company "Wyo Law Firm" was contracted to work with our creditors for a total of 48 months. After 16 months in the program and a "settlement" to one of our creditors for $25 month, we decided that it would be in our best interest to cancel any further drafts from our account and handle each account on our own (as we probably should have done in the first place.)
So, this company has done 25% of the work for us. We have paid them for almost 100% of the work that they were contracted to do over 4 years. We kindly requested a refund from the company for the remaining 32 months of the term that we will no longer be using this company for. We told them that we would settle for 70% refund of these fees as they would not have to do the work for the remainder of our contract.
Out of the $8000 that they took in fees, they offered us a refund of $216. They created settlement agreements with 3 of our creditors and did nothing more. During our hour long phone call, we tried to negotiate with Chris, the supervisor who told us that there was nobody higher than him that we could talk to about this matter. Later in the call he told us that if he submitted a higher refund request then "they would deny it"... who is "they" the people above Chris?

I have been with Wyolaw LLC (Summit Law) since 01/2019 and my first payment of $396.64 was pulled from my bank account 02/01/19 and every month since. So far they have only negotiated one debt. I have not heard anything on any of the other accounts that we put into this agreement. We entered into this agreement to not file bankruptcy. This service caused alot of stress and we have decided to file chapter 13 instead because nothing has been getting done with the accounts that were entered into this agreement. Starting this agreement we had agreed to pay $16,658.76 to negotiate $21,854 dollars of debt. So far (18 Months) we have a settlement for one card of 736.00 We have put $6737.88 and only have one settlement. This seems to be the norm after reading the reviews.

We have resolved the matter to the clients satisfaction

My wife and I who are both seniors, and collect Social Security as our only source of income got in a little financial trouble ie Credit debt that we were not able to keep up with. We decided to try a debt consolidator and got in touch with Summit Law who now is WyoLaw?? We listened to what they had to offer and it sounded like a plan that we could work with. We have been enrolled with them for a year and a half and have paid them over 7700.00 dollars towards our program to settle our debts. To date they have only contacted us about two creditors, who have sued us to try to settle. This is out of 12 creditors they took in our agreement' The first day and every contact we have had with them it was stressed that one of the creditors took priority as a family member is involved but gave my wife and I power of attorney over this account. Now another law suit and 2500 dollars has been taken from the family members bank leaving them completely broke and without income due to covid-19 and they are being thrown out of their home. Everytime I contact them im given the same answer, the suing party has not returned their calls. I got involved with the escalation dept. to try to have the taken monies replaced and then work it off our program, as it was AGREED BY CONTRACT and I get no return calls or solution. Again its the same answers they are waiting to hear from management. We are at our wits end and can not afford to pay the debts on our own and we are being taken advantage of by WYOLAW by them taking our money monthly and doing NOTHING to settle our debt as was AGREED BY CONTRACT. This has to be against some law and they need to be investigated.

We are working on resolving the matter to the clients satisfaction. We have not yet resolved the matter

They started by telling me that they would consolidate all of my debts and have them paid in 48 months. Then, when they started paying one of the places to get them paid off, they raised the rates that they took out of my account each month. All of the companies that I have accounts with have been contacting me to discuss payments, but Wyolaw told me not to discuss anything with the companies because they were handling the accounts. I am now being sued by one and another is threatening to go to court due to nonpayment. Wyolaw has been holding a retainer out each month, but when asked about the court issues, they would like me to pay more. I have a hard time getting them to respond to anything that is sent, but they keep trying to get me to pay more money for them to keep letting my accounts not be paid. They promised they would send a lawyer to deal with the court, then decided that I needed to pay more for them to do so. I called and they said that if I don't pay more they will not send a lawyer. When I emailed them that I couldn't pay more, they wanted to work out a way to have me pay more and they would see what they could do about a lawyer. I am not sure what to do, but I would also like to not have this screw up everything in my life.

Wyolaw is a company who is supposed to help people with debt relief. They contact your credit card companies or other companies you may have loans with and try to lower the amount of debt you have with those companies via settlements. In two different instances the companies that debt were owed to filed legal proceedings against me, and Wyolaw was supposed to also provide me with legal services in any litigation. In both cases, I was never given any representation in court and had judgement against me. After the judgement were made against me, they then provided me with legal council to help set up payment plans with the creditors that would be satisfactory for the judgement against me. One of the judgments was paid in full by myself, and Wyolaw had no dealings with it. The legal council wasn't provided until after the settlement was paid. For the second judgement, the legal council negotiated a payment plan with the attorney representing the debtor. This monthly payment was supposed to be paid by Wyolaw on my behalf to the debtor until paid in full. I was told that I would need to provide additional funds to Wyolaw in order to make the full payment. I agreed to the settlement, and sent the paperwork to them back in February. The first payments was supposed to be made on March 15th of 2020. Thinking that everything had been settled, I contacted Wyolaw on March 15th to ensure that the payment had been made. I was told that they had record of the settlement, but no payment had been made on my behalf. I was told that they had never received the additional funds in order to make the payment. I was then told by a representative from Wyolaw that I would need to pay them an additional amount that was substantially larger than the amount that I had agreed to when signing the settlement. I asked for an explanation why the amount was more and couldn't be provided with a reason why. I was then told by a member of their litigation team that because the first payment had been missed, that they would need to go back into litigation and seek a different settlement. In the mean time the lawyer who had been representing me contacted me to let me know that they were no longer working for Wyolaw and had taken a job with a different firm, but they had been contacted by the attorney representing my debtor concerning the missed payment, and they asked to have them relay the message to me that I could make the payment directly to them so that I didn't go into default. I did make the payment directly to the debtors attorney to maintain the settlement. After this was done, I contacted Wyolaw to see seek a resolution on these payments that were supposed to be being made on my behalf. I was able to speak to a manager who said that he would look into it and get back to me. Several days later I did receive a call from him and said that his company had made a mistake and offered me a partial refund of my service fees. I agreed to the refund, and he sent me over some documents pertaining to the refund, I signed the documents and emailed them back to him. This was on March 27th 2020. I still have not received the refund. I also called Wyolaw around this time to try and resolve whatever issue there was concerning my payment towards my debt settlement. The person I spoke to was unable to help me resolve it, and said that someone from litigation would call be back concerning this. I have never received a call back from them to resolve this issue. I have been contacting Wyolaw several times a month since February to resolve this issue, and have yet to speak to anyone who can resolve this issue. I have called them on the 15th of the month for April and May to see if the payment was made on my behalf, and in three months they haven't made a single payment towards my settlement. Each of these months I have made the payment directly to the attorney representing so that I don't default on settlement I had agreed to. In the last three months they haven't made a single payment on my behalf, and I haven't ever received a phone call back from anyone to explain why or how to resolve this issue. Every time I have called them (1-2 times a month since March) I have asked to speak to someone in the litigation department, and all I am ever told is that they will have someone from litigation contact me, and not once have I heard back from them.

Went to Wyolaw (then summit law) to seek debt resolution as a result of a divorce that put me on the edge of bankruptcy. In all advertising materials and phone conversations, what they said they would do and what they did/did not do were vastly different. Moreover, it is abundantly clear that Wyolaw has absolutely no intention of providing the services they offer. It is very clear this is a scam. Wyolaw claimed to resolve most debt negotiations in 6-9 months. After 18 months, they have made zero contact with my creditors. Only when I was sued did they respond to one specific creditor. My biggest creditor has been contacting Wyolaw for a year seeking an offer but Wyolaw refuses to even return their calls. Wyolaw also claimed in advertising and in phone discussions that they very rarely went to court. In reality, they have purposely avoided any contact with my creditors and are simply waiting for me to get sued before acting. Most egregious, they claim that the monthly payment you make to them will be available to pay off negotiated settlements when in fact they are simply stealing it. After 18 months and paying $9000 I was finally offered a debt settlement after a major credit card took me to court. The credit card company is seeking 80% of what I owe them but I need to pay in 30 days. This is the type of settlement I was expecting, but when I went to withdraw funds to pay, the lawyer said I only had $1700 of my $9000 in payment available. This company is criminally negligent as they are promising a service they cannot possibly deliver - they create a debt settlement that you cannot pay because they have taken all of your money in the meantime without explanation. Some fees are expected (though they NEVER mention fees in any of their material), but they took 85% of my payments without any explanation or billing at all. Nowhere in their advertising does it say 85% of your money will be taken in fees and any debt settlement will need to come out of your own pocket. No one in their right mind would agree to this. I went from a credit score of over 750 to completely ruined credit, filing for bankruptcy and being taken to court by creditors all so dishonest people could put money in their pocket at the expense of desperate people. I have 6 children and this has ruined all of our lives to some degree. This MUST be illegal and this company MUST be made to stop. My story seems to be the same as the rest of the complaints - why is this company still practicing? Why have they not been sued? Why have people not been jailed? It is a scam, plain and simple.

This review is almost exactly what happened to me. I have since stopped payment on my monthly payment and have requested they send me everything they had on all my accounts and refund the money that wasn't used. I also had summons to court on two accounts and wages garnished. I would like to definitely file a complaint. These people should not be in business.

Do not agree to do business with this firm. They are absolutely incompetent and lazy. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company. They had 90 days to negotiate a settlement and they couldn't meet this deadline. My file was virtually ignored. False reassurances is all I got from the everyone including the manager, Priscilla.

I’m writing a complaints due to summit haven’t even contacted my counsel regarding my refund.. This is the story, I applied for a debt settlement last february of 2019 because I got swapped with unsecured debt when I moved out of my parents house, my debts are all credit card.. It seems like everything was doing great even thou I’m not saving anything coz other than my credit card debts I still pay some of my debt to my family.. Until this year, I received a summons from one of my creditor thats enrolled on the settlement program (january 2020).. The case was given to another firm and a paralegal contacted me.. Upon talking to the paralegal she pulled up another summon dated 10/2019 that I never got in the mail at my new address and was sent to a secondary address I use for my packages.. Now the firm that has my case is asking for extra funds for both summons that I couldn’t produce.. I ended up filing for bankruptcy because of this debt settlement, I should have done bankruptcy instead of a debt settlement.. I should have believed Revdex.com and *** reviews about Summit Law Firm/Wyo Law Firm before even pushing thru getting in their program.. They’ll sales talk you as if everything will be fine as long as you enroll and you are protected.. So please if anyone is looking into this company please AVOID.. Please look into other options..
