1&1 Internet, Inc Reviews (1210)

Dear *** *** (Customer ID # ***),
I sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience associated with the cancellation of this account
As a company, we do offer the ability to cancel an account online,
however, the reason that you had been asked to call into our Cancellation Team to
cancel this account, was to be refunded under our Day Money Back Guarantee
Our system does not automatically issue this particular refund when canceling online
Aside from that, unfortunately, I cannot explain why you would have had any
issues with calling in, as we have not experienced any problems with our phone
systems
That being said, in regard to the complaint you made to our
Board of Directors which was received yesterday, my colleague Matthew has
already reached out to youHe informed you that we are issuing your refund of
$11.88, which will take 3-business days to be processed, and as a security
precaution, asked you to confirm the cancellation of this accountSince you
have also filed this complaint through the Revdex.com, I have set an
immediate cancellation on this account
Moving forward, you will no longer be billed or invoiced, since
this account is no longer active
Once more, we apologize for any inconvenience that has been
caused here
Thank you
David M***

I tried to cancel a contract, but their online utility keeps throwing errors, so I called the “hotline” and when I told the rep that I wanted to cancel, he put me on holdI stayed on hold for about minutes, and then their system cut me offI called back a while later and was cut off againI called again, and after waiting on hold for several more minutes, I spoke to a rep who said he would have the cancellation department call me

After I stopped using their service and removed my card, I expected their service would stop However, they billed me for an automatic renewal and sent me to collectionsI had no idea that there was an automatic renewal set up, and this practice seems deceptive So I paid that charge and told them I wanted everything cancelledA month later I got another collections bill for even more! So I called them and found that there were other renewals that had been done previous to my earlier experience After discussing the situation they agreed to cancel all charges, so I do appreciate their working with me on that

I previously paid for a year contract for http://www.*** This website hosting plan was to expire in December I cancelled this contract for another year in Dec This company sent me a cancellation email that stated they accepted my cancellation request and my account would be cancelled After this, I was hounded by this company that demanded I pay them $for another year of hosting I emailed them to say I no longer want to do any further business with them and to again cancel my account and stop billing me Today in the mail I received another request to pay for this account This letter also states that I have a delinquent account and they will turn this account over to a collections agency if I do not pay I no longer have services provided from them and I cancelled my account with them and I would like resolution to this problem

I've been a 1&customer since Aug and have had a constantly positive experience I mainly use 1&for domain names and DNS but also a bit of web hosting The UI has gone through a few changes over the years but has always been usable Uptime has been great Customer service has been awesome the few times I've had to deal with them I've used quite a few hosting providers and 1&has constantly been at the top of my list

For the last days, I have been trying to investigate the removal of a domain from my control panel and contracts, and for the better half of which, hoping to resolve a billing matter before the WHOIS reported expiration of this domain on FEB
As I understand the events leading up to this issue based on a brief explanation from their support team during the first week of February, an issue with a contract more than a year ago had, under my impression, been resolvedApparently this was not the case, and the "package" in which this domain was bundled with (which as of the 20th, has been in this package for years), was removed from my account
I discovered this when attempting to take an offer from *** Domains to transfer this domain in at no cost for an extended registration period, and could not find the entry in my control panel anywhere, not even the cancellations panel
Today, I write this complaint as my business has effectively been shut down for the past

I've never written a Revdex.com review before, but the very rude rep I spoke with last told me to go ahead and do soHere we go! Extremely disorganized company with poorly trained representativesHave had to contact them times in weeks to resolve discrepancies with both billing and domain servicesUsually the reps can be heard whispering to somebody in the background, but when you ask to speak to a supervisor, they give you the run aroundThe explanation I got was: "She's coming, but she's getting her computer running so it will take awhile." ...never did get to speak with said supervisorIt seems like this place is ran out of somebody's house or something, with the casual attitude and lack of knowledge/security/professionalismSometimes you wait mins for a rep to get to you, sometimes nobody answers at allAll within the provided business hoursDidn't process my payment until over a week after I made the transaction, only to discover they double charged meSpent the better part of an hour with the confused and disorganized rep, as he tried to locate the duplicate charge...They have asked me to provide photos of my bank statement, credit card & drivers license, which I did initially after the first transaction issue, but declined to do so again the second and third time because they should already have them on file..? Quite concerned for the safety of my information, as well as othersVery scammy, indeedBuyers, beware

I have never had this much trouble this soon after starting an account with a businessThe initial issue was that as soon as I purchased a domain with hosting and private registration, I started getting emails, phone calls, and text messages offering me services for web hosting, design, and development, all for my new domainThis included scams, spam, and phishing attemptsAll hours of the dayConfused, as I opted for the private registration, yet clearly every web development service got ALL of my contact information, I found that, not only do they automatically enroll you in ALL contact offers via ALL communications options, but your private registration is defaulted to OFFIn other words, before you are even aware the default settings are this way (because they do not warn you at all), your personal information is being sold to everyone and anyone all around the worldI turned off the contact options, activated the private registration, and told every caller that wasn't a robocall to take me off the list, and I'm still getting spam email, scam texts, and phishing calls, some claiming to be from GoDaddy, some from 1&1, some from Designs, and others claiming to be with the IRS and/or FBI, threatening with warrants for my arrest, though it has gone from 30-per day, to 3-per dayBefore that, I got or spam emails and phishing calls PER YEAR!After that issue seemed to be resolved to the maximum extent possible, it was a simple problem with my payment being declined, yet on my PayPal account used to pay it, it was pending, waiting for the company to confirm chargesUpon closer inspection, I realized there was another invoice for instant domain with a completed payment, with a matching, equal, pending payment on my PayPal account for the same invoiceWhen I called the 24/support line, I received an automated response saying I called outside of business hoursThe only way to get through to support was to go to the support page, submit the feedback that I couldn't find the solution I was looking for (because it isn't on the support center to begin with), and request a call backThe first person to call back had to get all of my information to confirm my identity, which is interesting since my telephone pin should do that, but they need my full name (last name was not enough), my account id number, my phone number, and the telephone pinThis representative listened to my issue, then said it was an issue for accounts and billing, but they were only available 9am to 5pm, Monday-Friday, and the 24/support was for Tech Support ONLYI told him I work during that time, and there was no way I could call, and he told me that was my only option and there was nothing I could do otherwise(Apparently there is no way to put a ticket in and have them communicate via email)I told him I would do what I could, but that I was highly disappointed, and the conversation endedI had a third purchase (a bulk purchase of instant domains) pending, and to avoid further complications until this one was solved, I decided to cancel it until I was sure billing issues could be resolvedUnfortunately, all I got was an errorIt seemed the only thing I could access was everything except canceling itIn order to avoid ANY further charges, I attempted to turn off auto-renewal on my domain hosting, only to have it confirm that I had successfully done so, then show that it was still onI called back and was again told I was calling outside of business hours, having to use the support center feedback workaroundI explained what was happening, and was told it was an issue for their security department and that they were only available from 9am to 5pm, Monday through FridayI became frustrated, as this was clearly a tech issue, NOT a security issue, but he insisted he could do nothing, so I told him to just forget about it, I wasn't going to call security, because there was no security issue, there was a tech issue, and that was itI decided to cancel all my contracts, and after several frustrating attempts over hours, I was able to cancel and confirm cancel of ONE of the three, the one they already collected onI immediately went to a competitor and got a hosting and domain plan with them with ZERO of the complicationsI planned to transfer my remaining domain to them once I had the chanceI went to Paypal and canceled all Pre-Approved payment agreements with 1&to avoid any more suspicious transactions from showing up, until this completed and also pending status was resolvedSo a few days later, I went in to unlock the domain and transfer it to my new service provider, and all of my contracts were cancelledI thought I was goodI went to PayPal to check my balance, as I planned to purchase some other domains from my new provider, and found that the domain and hosting contract payment was completedIt was also still pendingAfter checking the details, I found a new pre-approved payment agreement had been authorized with 1&WITHOUT MY CONSENTI knew I wouldn't be able to get ahold of accounts and billing, because I work when they are open, so I figured I'd dispute the suspicious transactions, (currently being investigated by PayPal), and delete my account on 1&Only problem is, when I log into my account on 1&1, using my ID, not the canceled domains or hosting ids, It tells me I can't use control panel because I have no contractsI can't get to my account information, but my payment information, personal information, and contact information, is all still there, because when I go to cancel.1and1.com, it shows my account is active, shows no contracts to cancel, but go to the account link at the top and the window shows all my personal info, with options to access themTry to access your account, and it tells you that you can't use control panel because you have no contractsI called support againMy account ID was accepted, my pin was rejected, it transferred me, It gave me "push forpush for..." optionsThe first, sent me to the "You're calling outside of business hours" messageI hung up and called againIt didn't ask for my account ID, just my telephone pin, which worked this timeI chose option two when it transferred me, and stayed on the line past the next option, and was connected to tech supportI told them I couldn't access my account data, it just kept telling me I had no contractsThey informed me that this was a security issue, and security has locked my account and I would have to call them during business hours to get any assistanceAt this point I lost itI told him I wasn't calling anyone, and my contracts are canceled, I had cancelled pre-approval with paypal, TWICE, and just wanted my entire account removed from their serviceI told him I was tired of the spam and phishing attempts, and I was tired of the tech issues, and that support can't help me with anything, only transfer me to other departments that aren't open, or ask me to call them when they know I can'tI said, just delete the accountHe informed me that was a matter for their cancellations department, and guess what their hours areI demanded he push a ticket to the department, to have them close the account, and to call me or email for confirmation if they needed itHe said he could call me tomorrow during their open hours and transfer me to them to do itI refused and insisted he put a ticket in to the cancellations department, and have my account removed immediatelyHe said he would, and it could take a while, not 3-business days, a whileI told him, I assumed it was long enough for more double charging of my paypal account and unauthorized authorizations, and that if I saw one more transaction completed for 1&I would not only file a complaint here, I would be contacting an attorneyHe told me that he would put a note on my file for cancellations to remove my account and when I again said they could email or call for confirmation, he said they wouldn't need to because my account was verifiedFunny they still have to verify it for every support callThat is my entire interaction with 1&over the course of or weeksI am currently waiting for PayPal to finish their investigation of the transactions, and for confirmation that my account information was removedAs it stands, I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYBODY, not even a sworn enemy, and the only thing that will keep me from going from a negative review, to a filed complaint and a call to an attorney will be no further paypal transactions, and the deleting of my account from their records PERMANENTLYI don't even want the domains anymoreI just want 1&to stay out of my bank accounts, and out of my lifeThere is no salvaging this relationship with a reply that regurgitates the first sentence with minor rewording, makes claims of compensating for losses and undue stress, and offers the customer service they should have offered from the beginningFunny how they don't care about your satisfaction until you expose them for what they really areScam ArtistsPure and simpleUnethical, nickel-and-diming, scam artistsI want them out of my life forever, so I can wash my hands of this, and move on with my new provider, who offered their quality customer service from initial interest, not waiting until after complete failure like 1&

On January 17th, I got notice of hosting renewal for $Prior to that, I had only gotten domain renewal for $The notice for hosting said my card would be charged within daysI did not want to renew the hosting, only the domainI logged in to my account and removed auto-renewal and also emailed letting them know I only wanted to renew the domainOn January 22nd, my card was charged $I asked for a refund of $three separate timesOver a week after being charged, I filed an amount dispute with my bank1&still did not refund meI was finally issued a credit invoice on February 16th for $95.88, but did not receive the refundThen, on February 20th, my card was charged for $for the domain, citing failure to payThe charge for $was refunded (after multiple complaints)I am still waiting for the $to be refundedI have received every excuse imaginable, including the "Solutions Manager" telling me on March 2nd that they had trouble pro

Only company asking for ID proof for Shared hosting planI have not seen any online hosting provider asking for ID proof for shared hosting, I am not sure they are fake or not, but I was doubting as they already took my banking details and now ID so to be on safer side I cancelled and bought from other legit company and they didn't asked for anythingLastly, The average response time on 1andis hrs for customer support

We found another number on the invoice ***

I had two domain names with 1and Apparently these were set to autorenew, but I removed any payment information because I no longer want or use the services Have not actively used these services in months
They are attempting to charge me that covers services through may of 2017, I no longer wish to retain their services They are also attempting to charge me an dollar late fee, for not paying for services that I do not wish to retain
Their is no direct way to cancel on their website, and it is unclear on their website how to remove the automatic paymentsI went to their help section and could not figure out how to do it Their confusing website actively makes it hard to cancel accounts, then they collect on automatic payments and/or excessive late fees

Products are actually good, however their billing and customer service is all out of the country people who dont speak English The argue with you on the phone when you call them because your bill is wrong and you have to call in or times to get any issues resolved

my website keeps going down because the 1&server keeps losing my settings that point it to my hosttimes in the last daysI can't run my business when site is downit should be pointed time and that is it

I have been using 1&for quite some time now I had an added on product of a $SSL Starter Package I cancelled this abefore the billing cycle I was billed anyways by 1& After weeks of attempting to get a refund for a product that was never received and should not have been billed I filed a chargeback through my card
I received a refund from the chargeback and never a refund from the company
1&then locked my account claiming a chargeback was received They refused to unlock my account without me paying them for the service I never should have been billed for
The domains that are unaccesible are company websites that results in loss of revenue every minute of downtime
I have now been down for approximately days This is a week of lost online presence and revenue over a $charge that I SHOULD HAVE NEVER INCURRED
