I purchased a membership and was unable to use it.

Desired Outcome

would like a refund for *** membership number. The full refund. Was unable to use my account. Had to buy a membership through traveler's.

I have been with AAA many years. I signed up for the auto renewal and have had no problems. My renewal payment is scheduled for Nov. 1 of each year. I looked yesterday and there was a charge on my credit card, dated Oct. 26 for my renewal of $381. I had been making medical payments and my credit card was not ready for the charge. I called the service center and they said someone had done an on-line charge. I informed them I am the only one of my family that would know about it. After a long visit and the representative saying that there was nothing that could be done about it and continuing to insist I had made an early payment, they visited with a supervisor and said that they would reverse the charges. My strong suspicion is that someone in the organization was needing to make their sales quota and they took it upon themselves to charge it a few days early to meet October sales quota. I may be wrong, but either way, someone made the charge prior to my authorization and system needs evaluated and corrected. I am not going to even mention the problem it caused with my scheduled medical payment. I worry that with that authorization, what else could happen to that credit card that I have entrusted to AAA? Someone in the process has abused that authorization. She also said that a letter was sent about payment, but I received no payment letter, just the new cards.

Other (requires explanation) I want to know what has been done to give me confidence in AAA that my payment information and authorization is protected and charged when the date is due, not prior to the time. Otherwise, I would want the same benefits given as an incentive for auto-renewal but with calling in on the date it is due. I would respectfully request that any information like that about payment be sent by email. Our USPS at our location tends to have mail not make it to the desired location of delivery.

We apologize for the inconvenience the member experienced. The member has signed up for auto renewal with their local AAA club. The AAA club charges the renewal 1 1/2 month before the renewal date. This is done that if the payment does not go through the club will have enough time to send a bill so that the members coverage is not interrupted. If the member wishes to have auto renewal removed, we can submit the members request for removal.

I received 2 different answers concerning this date. The information about when charging should be without such ambiguity. A email with the specific date when I t is going to be charged would be an easy email fix to let the customers know and avoid such confusion, both by the customers and the company representatives.

We called AAA for a tow and they denied because they said my wife was not a member. When I cancelled their service they wouldn't give a refund.
My wife was involved in an incident on the road and was shaken up. She was run off the road at high speed but was able to get back on the road and to the next exit when she called me. I told her I would call AAA and get her towed. I called AAA and after going through their automated answering system and finally talking to a person the line went dead. When I called AAA back they couldn't find our membership by the number on my AAA card. Eventually they found it by my name and they said I was in a different club code. I explained what had happened and where my wife was located. I also gave them her phone number. After some time my wife said AAA called her and told her they were not sending a tow truck because I was not with her. She explained to them that she was a card holder as well but this person was not interested. We eventually got a tow through our insurance company. I called AAA to cancel our membership and they said they couldn't cancel it that I would receive a call in up to 3 business days by a customer care person who would help. Two days later they called and said they were sorry this happened to us and what could they do to help. I said please cancel our membership. We've paid for years and hardly used the service so please cancel it and refund the unused portion to me. She said I can cancel it but it will run the term and we don't give refunds.

Desired Outcome

Refund of the unused portion of the membership fee. The fee was $140.50. I cancelled in the 1st month of the term. I would like a refund equal to 11/12th of the total or $128.79.

The AAA National office does not issue refunds for services or memberships. The AAA club will not be refunding per the policy listed below. Additionally, the information below can be found in the member handbook as well as AAA.com.

Membership Refund Policy within First 3 Months of New Membership

At any time during the first three months of your new membership including any upgrades and added associate Members, you decide AAA isn't right for you, simply cancel. We'll refund the unused portion of your paid membership dues. Overpayments will be applied to your next membership renewal or on a request basis will be 100% refunded. No other refunds will be granted.

Membership Refund Policy for Renewing Memberships and New Membership after First 3 Months of Membership

Membership dues payments including renewals, upgrades and added associate Members will not be refunded once applied to your membership; however, your membership will remain in force until it expires.

I do not accept paying for nothing. We entered into this agreement in good faith. We have paid for this service for many years and receive little in return. When we needed the service it was at most unprofessional. Now they are falling on their corrupt policy.

They are asking me to follow-up with my local AAA club in Delaware. I live near Charleston WV. How could my local club be in Delaware? This reflects how in tune the AAA is with their customers.

3 hours to receive service. Was lied to numerous times. Filed a complaint and never heard from AAA as promised. Tow truck was 3 blocks from me
Phoned AAA for service with flat tire. Recently had knee surgery could not change tire myself. Was informed numerous times that tow truck /service would be there in 1 hour . 3 hours later service arrives AAA after several phone calls lied to me numerous times I was informed service was coming from numerous miles away. Service truck was coming from 3 blocks away still took 3 hours . I filed a formal complaint and was instructed a AAA associate no one every contacted me. My total service time was over 4 hours. This is unacceptable and as a consumer to be lied to numerous times. AAA caused me to lose a days pay that I will not get back due to there continued lies and lack of service this date.

Have been a loyal memeber for years. I would like a piece of mind this company wont allow this to happen to my wife and family. We pay for their service and have been disrespected and lied to. Would like for a free year for me family. Or compensated for the lost wages i occured due to thier lack of service and continued lies on the date of requested service..

I have been continued to be charged for a car I had sold and asked to be removed from an auto policy and never issued my refund.
I sold a car to a gentleman who travels a lot for oil and gas at the end of summer around the beginning of September. I had called and asked for the vehicle to be removed. I never got notice of anything until I seen a charge of 404.00 on 9/14. I called immediately and talked to a gentleman who apologized for everything and told me I would be refunded the difference of my Honda that was to be removed from the policy. I told him my new address (which he never changed and I still have on this claim for the use of finding my policy) and he once again apologized and assured me he took care of everything. I asked him why my policy went up an extraordinary amount and he told me that the Honda was stilll on the policy and because my membership ran out and I didn't renew. I said I never wanted to renew my policy and Who authorized it. He said they don't need my approval to renew the policy. I told him I never agreed to a renewal and he basically said it didn't matter. So I was stuck with a huge chunk of change taken from my account that I didn't authorize and for a car That was suppose to be off of the policy. I looked at my account today and was charged 163.20 on 10/13 because he never changed or removed anything. I called in on 10/16 and the lady told me she can not do anything unless I give them a bill of sale! This was 2 months ago, I don't even remember getting one. I signed papers and pretty much gave the car to the kid because it had issues. How am I supposed to do that. She said she didn't know and did not know why the guy never took care of everything. She insisted I had to give her the title transfer or bill of sale or she couldn't do anything. I told her that the guy was to take care of everything and assured me it was handled. Lying is terrible business practice and I understand mistakes happen but they need fixed.

I want the Honda Civic off of the policy. I want refunded for the difference of the policy from the beginning of September 2017 until now. I would like a complete refund and never deal with aaa again because I never even authorized renewal. If this is not possible I want the refunded difference. I want to know my end date and if I canceled today when would I be uninsured so I can shop for a new company. I want whomever mislead me reprimanded. I feel this is the best course of action before I go to social media and reviewing sites. I am just asking for them to do the job they told me they would. They should always ask to renew before the automatic take money from my account.
