Sep 28, From: [redacted] Aamco Transmissions E2nd StOdessa, TX To : Revdex.com Corporate Office La Posada Drive Austin, TX Thank you very much for the opportunity to response to a complaint from Mr [redacted] , Crane Tech LLCOn Aug6th, 2015, Crane Tech brought a Company Truck to Aamco Transmissions in Odessa for diagnose the Vibration after driving mph and a Bad Leak on TransmissionAt that particular time, unfortunately Aamco was booked up for two weeks and I informed customer that we could not be able to perform the necessary Computer & External Diagnostic Service as quickly as we want to due to limited of Technicians and Lift availability (at that time)However, as soon as we have an open lift we did perform Complete External & Computer Diagnostic ServiceWe found the CoTruck has a leak on Transfer Case, not the Transmission As customer thought it was and the vibration comes from the worn out U Joints (5), Carrier Bearing, Pitman Arm & Idler ArmI informed the customer of the resultCustomer then requests the exact cost to replace every worn out and damage parts which includes the complete Remanufactured Transfer Case from Ford Dealership with the Best Warranty and we didWith the high mileage of the serviced vehicle I would not recommend the partial repair due to the fact that they normally will not last and will cost customer more in the near futureI guaranty you customer well spent $for us to Perform the Complete External & Computer Diagnostic Service that the other shop based on to do the partial repair (that we don't do)Thank you again for the opportunity to answer the customer complaint [redacted] ***

Mrs [redacted] continues to make and misleading statementsShe claims that saving $through us was a jokeMost customers would be grateful for this savingsHer car was at the dealership before she had it towed to usParts were dissembled by the dealership when we received the vehicleThe shift cable was disassembled and left disconnected when we received the vehicleThe cable end was hanging because it was damaged prior to us receiving the vehicleIf Mrs [redacted] wants to bring forward her "witnesses" that she claims to have then we can certainly bring forward the trespassing citation that was issued by the [redacted] given to her husband due to his violent behaviorIn additional we can still press charges against Mr [redacted] for his assault on my employee which we have several witnesses who saw this assaultAs far as putting the transmission back together, her statement simply is falseThe paperwork clearly indicates that the transmission was left disassembled and her signature is clearly on the paperworkIf this was not the case then it is hard to believe that Mrs [redacted] would have signed the paperworkPlease refer to the signed paperwork that we provided

Sir/Madam; Our office has contacted the independently owned AAMCO franchise in Houston who acknowledges reconditioning the transmission in Mr [redacted] ' vehicle and issuing an express warranty on its parts and labor According to the owner of that business, the vehicle arrived at his facility with an apparent transmission failure along with a series of diagnostic trouble shooting codes indicating miscommunication of various components within the vehicle Reportedly, Mr [redacted] had requested assistance from a third party extended warranty company who performed their own evaluation of the vehicle but denied extended warranty coverage to the transmission due to a number of modifications done to the vehicle including removal of exhaust and EGR components that resulted in the miscommunication condition AAMCO of Houston asserts that they agreed to repair the damaged transmission with the understanding from Mr [redacted] that he would arrange to correct the miscommunication condition at his expenseAAMCO of Houston further asserts that they are agreeable to authorize any needed warranty repair at any authorized AAMCO repair facility per the express terms and conditions of their warranty. Our office also contacted the independent AAMCO franchise in Cedar Park TX who more recently evaluated this vehicle According to that facility, they observed that none of the modification previously done to this vehicle had been corrected and that the miscommunication errors persist that have resulted in a drivability condition in which the operation of the transmission is placed in a "fail safe" mode Cedar Park AAMCO is unable to determine at this time if, in fact, the performance issues they have identified are caused by a defect in the parts and labor provided by Houston AAMCO They informed Mr [redacted] that it would be necessary for him to reinstall various exhaust and EGR components that were removed from the vechile in order to correct the miscommunication error and "fail safe" mode and that upon completion of such correction, they would be happy to further evaluate the condition of the transmission at no charge and provide any warranty repairs that may be required Feel free to call me with any questions.Michael P [redacted] ###-###-####

Mr [redacted] made an appointment and dropped off his car to us at 12:on November 16, He said his concern was “it is slow to get moving & there’s a rattling noise when you hit the gas.” The complaint states, “We had replaced the transmission.” We had not replaced nor repaired the transmission However, we had replaced the clutch early in 2013.Mr [redacted] signed our Multi Point Inspection Form which includes road testing the vehicle to verify his concerns and check the shift points At 4:20, the technician took Mr [redacted] ’s car for a short road test He was less than one mile from the shop and Mr [redacted] ’s car ran out of gas We do not have gas at our facility due to potential hazardous conditions The road test involves going south on Warrensville Center four side streets and turn left on Bexley The car stopped at the first stop sign We called both numbers Mr [redacted] provided, but neither one was answered We left a message stating the car had run out of gas and we could tow it back at their expense or they could pick it up Since we were delivering cars to customers and closing shortly for the evening, we sent another technician to pick up the first technician They pushed the car to the curb out of harm’s way and returned to work I called the tow company who said they would be there within one half hour About fifteen minutes later Mr [redacted] called and asked me what happened? We explained the car ran out of gas and either he could take gas with him or I could have it towed back He asked where it was and I explained three separate times that he would turn right out of our driveway, go streets south on Warrensville and turn left on Bexley It is at the next Stop sign He still didn’t seem to understand and I said bring it up on google maps and you will see the street and then visually see where it is from us.He called back and asked where the keys were I said when I couldn’t reach you, the technician drove back there again to put the keys under the mat in the car for you or for the towing companyI asked if he was going to get the car and he said yes I said I would cancel the towWe were closed, but at 5:someone was pounding on the door I went back to open the door and it was Mrs [redacted] stating she wanted the number to our Corporate Office I asked if I could help her and she said we left her car in the middle of the street with the keys in it I explained that it had run out of gas in less than a mile and it was at the curb on a side street I further stated that the tow company needs the keys in case they have to turn the wheels and you would need them if you took gas to get it started The car wasn’t going anywhere without gas Then Mrs [redacted] said we wouldn’t tell her husband where the car was and told him to google it I said I explained it three times and he didn’t seem familiar with the streets I said to google it so he could see where the street was in relationship to us Mrs [redacted] just walked away I have not had any contact by Mr [redacted] after telling him where his car had stopped.Mror Mrs [redacted] had called the Corporate Office to file a complaint, they put other reviews on line stating they told us the fuel pump was bad and we drove it anyway There was no mention of a fuel pump as our documentation shows The customer is responsible for having enough fuel in the vehicle to allow a shop to go two miles for a road test We do not have gas in our facility and the only thing we can do is contact the customer and/or have the vehicle towed back Two other customers were upset we did not complete their cars because the technicians were not available It was an unfortunate situation for all involved We had not charged Mr [redacted] for the inspection nor for the additional lost time Aamco Transmission

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I wouldn't have had a blown head gasket had you guys done your job to begin with, my vehicle is currentlyat at another shop, BAR is doing an investigation on the motor that was installed into my vehicle and had already found numerous issues with the engine As far as the blown head gasket and the voiding of the warranty it is to my understanding that if any damage happens to the motor after the day period warranty automatically voids such as a timing belt breaking or head gasket blowing, so why wouldnt a company such as aamco make sure that a customer comes back to pay more money to have the issue resolved?! My point exactly, aamco didnt fully inspect the motor before installing into my vehicle or they did saw the issues and chose to ignore the issues at hand!Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Mr [redacted] has a full parts and labor warranty on the wheel bearing that we replaced If there is any issue with the wheel bearing we will replace it free of charge If it's more convenient we have another location in [redacted] where we could replace the wheel bearing if necessary I also left a phone message for Mr [redacted] to call me yesterday in which I stated I would resolve this issue for him I have never heard back from him.Thank you [redacted] PresidentHenley Transmissions DBA AAMCO Transmissions?

Good morning Revdex.com: I received the response from Aamco.Mike P [redacted] has stated that the Aamco in Richmond, Virginia has been sold and is no longer in operations as Aamco. That service station in Richmond is still in operations as an Aamco facility. Please investigate this matter further and advise me of your course of actionSincerely, [redacted] ***###-###-#### [redacted]

The customer brought a Chevrolet which had a burnt transmission from towing a 5000lbs trailerThe truck was not designed to tow that muchWe performed a conversion of the transmission to a type that is designed to tow that much weightConversions on old trucks takes a lot of time because some parts have to be madeMany of the leaks on this old truck is oil leaks from the top of the engine running downWe also performed about a dollars worth of free work as to keep the customer happy like wiring a into the truck an electrical kick-down switch and a variety of other work that was not chargedThe truck is old and is not designed for what he is trying to doyear old vehicles have a different standard than modern cars and leaks are common with well maintained trucksUnfortunately the customer thinks we are responsible for replacing everything because he paid Customers have paid for conversions and 50,for complete restorationsAgain this is a different standard in local repair shops....both time and money

We have been in contact with [redacted] AAMCO installed a computer for the customer despite the fact that it was not a component covered by the warranty She was advised by the dealer that this computer was not compatible I immediately made arrangements for the customer to return to the AAMCO center to have this situation corrected If I can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me

The person who wrote this complaint has never been a customer of ours I am familiar with the vehicle and situation The vehicle owner, *** Tiller, brought the vehicle to our center in January with a damaged rear differential We recommended a new differential at that time for an
installed price of $ He did not have funds for that and asked about other options as he desperately had to have the vehicle back as soon as possible We told him the only other option was to install a used differential for $but it would only have a day warranty He said for us to proceed with the used option When completed he did not have funds to cover the bill and we had to go through a lengthy process to get no credit financing under a women friend of of ***'s name through a third party finance company for him to pay the bill After picking the vehicle up January 11th, 2016, the customer called about an oil smell We said that it was likely residual differential fluid and to drive for a couple days and let us know If it persisted or they had any issues to bring the car back We heard nothing from him until May 23rd when a young lady called up about the car having "the same problem again" We had the vehicle towed in and found the front pinion bearing race had failed leaving the bearing very loose where the drive shaft attaches and leaking fluid The differential itself did not fall out of the car as the complaint states as that is physically impossible We told them they were out of warranty but we would work with them on the repair cost as best we could *** said just fix it, I need the car back We got another used differential and installed it We told *** we would charge him our cost for the part, the $for the tow and half the labor which came to $ *** was furious and started threatening all kinds of action which he would take against us We received numerous angry calls from him and other family members cursing us out and calling us racist Two of the managers answering the phone talking with him have never met him and have no idea about his race One young lady who said she was the primary driver of the car called several times and was kind and respectful in all her conversations As the owner I worked with her and eventually agreed to do the repair for just our parts cost and the tow with me covering the labor completely which came to $ She came in on May 27th to pick up the vehicle and pay the balance At that time a woman stating to be an aunt cursed us out several times and again said we were racist taking advantage of people. Every interaction with the many many calls from various people involving themselves in this car situation (at least women and ***) was handled professionally and courteously by AAMCO employees We gave full disclosure to each caller even though most were not even the vehicle owner We helped with the cost of repair both times due to the customers lack of funds, helped arrange financing and paid from most of the "out of warranty" cost to repair their vehicle a second time Again this complaint was not written by the vehicle owner and thus bares little resemblance to the actual events and conversations as they actually occurred The customer requested a used differential originally due to cost, was told to bring the car in if they had any issues, which they did not, and the differential did not "fall out" of the vehicle or come loose so no mechanic could have told them that after looking at it It was a bearing race failure that caused the damage on the used differential we installed We have gone above and beyond to provide professional service at significant cost to us Therefore we have no further offer for the customer at this time

To whom it concerns, In regards to answering all of these questions I would like to begin by saying i'm sorry that you feel this way and that you broke down on your tripAs I do a lot of traveling I always try and put myself on my customers shoesMy first response to
the vehicle that transported you was that it was our service vehicle that is used often when family's are broke down and can not fit in the tow truckOur first objective is to get the family safe and off of the interstate as quickly as possibleI am sorry you felt it was dirty and I will have that addressedI have been in some very filthy cabs as wellWe let you know up front the charges for the service before we were on scene and as a paying customer you did have the right to refuse and call for a taxiMy staff is very accommodating as well and since you were traveling if you would have asked for the name or number of a cab service we would have done that for you as wellI am not sure how long it wound have taken them to get to you on interstate between exits and in the medianWe discussed this information with AAA as well before any service was doneAfter calling the tire shop that you were to be taken to originally they were called on your behalf to make sure they could get the locking lug nut off without the proper key and they said they did not have the proper equipment to achieve thisOnly then was it suggested that you come to my facilityAAA was aware of this as wellBefore any work was done you were told of the charges to perform this task as the proper tools are very expensiveUnfortunately your tire which was punctured was run flat on the rim (nothing could have been done differently on your part as you were at highway speeds) did have damage on the inside of the tire from the rim riding on the side wallThat tire was not reusableAlso the tire size was not a common in stock sizeWe did not have it in stock then called around the area and had to go to a source not usually used to purchase a tire for you and I as well had to pay premiumUnfortunately it was a name brand tire that I would not have normally recommended but was the right size to immediately get you back on the roadBefore this was done again we asked you if you wanted us to continue looking or did you want us to get it done immediateThere is always mounting and balancing charges on top of the actual tire price as the type of weights that your type of rim requires are also very expensiveI apologize again as it it never fun to brake down and feel as though you are held hostage by a repair shop but this is not what we didWe gave you options to get you on the road quickly and safelyI have also reached out to you by telephone to have a conversation with you and still would like to hear from you. Sincerely, J*** ***s, owner

I came in towed and left out awedI don't make many wise decisions , but, choosing Aamco was a five star choiceCompared to the overpriced dealership and the underwhelming work of "flyby night" mechanics, these guys lead by Joe take the Gold medal in customer service as far as I am concerned. They took care of my mother's car and they took great care or my car.Sadly, they wont take my mother in for a trade in (lol) but, they do cars like they are hardwired for life

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:My car has been brought to this establishment four times in which a total of $dollars was givenThe owner failed to address or mention this in his response. On two of those occasions I had to return the car the same dayMrT*** mentioning any previous work is void because I paid for and they replaced those parts that he mentioned to the standardAs well as my vehicle has only been in their care onlyI have not taken my car anywhere else for any under the hood work. Each time I brought my car to business they told me everything was fine and the final time I brought my vehicle back Manager Jack stated "Car would be fixed for free" as he showed unbelief and frustration of seeing me for the 3rd time. Again I have been there four times since OCT-NOV. The first time vehicle leak and smoking from hood and exhaust pipeThree of those times vehicle was returned was relating to vehicle overheating problem. The water pump needing to be replaced should have been detected sooner. Also Mr T*** did not address my vehicle was return to me deadI called to figure out why and asked for Manager Jack to return my call since he was not available at the timeHe did not call me backThis is not good customer serviceI brought my vehicle to be serviced properly and this was not the case hereI have never experienced anything like this with AAMCO and have been satisfied with their work on my vehicle in the pastHowever this time is unacceptable and I should not be held accountable for there misdiagnosis or not thoroughly checking my vehicleWhich in turn led them to be very misleading each time saying my vehicle was fine. AAMCO offer a discount of approx dollars compared to approx dollars but I could not afford this price and why I had vehicle return to my home. Their word was not kept of my vehicle being fine each time I drove away nor when the last time I returned vehicle of working being done for free

AAMCO Total Car Care Garfield AveHuntington Beach, Ca 92648 Revdex.comViewridge Ave#200San Diego, Ca 9212311/18/2014Re: *** ***/Dodge StealthDear Revdex.com,Thank you for your recent inquiry and equal opportunity attitude
towards this and any complaint voicedthrough your bureau.Though sounding like a genuine complaint, there is far more to this story than a burned out wiringharness and a hole in the battery. This complaint stems from an issue that we have been struggling against since the first day Mr***arrived at our facilityHe continually believes he should have his complete car repaired for free. His original request was to have the transmission repaired under warranty, and that someone repairedhis wiring but had no paperwork stating this ( he did have paperwork for the transmission )We agreed to address his transmission problem at no charge but his vehicle had multiple problems thatwould have a say in how the vehicle performed once the transmission was repaired. We advised him to repair these issues before driving the vehicle because it would damage the unit ifthese repairs weren't completed i.ethrottle position sensor/wiring harness/ABS issue. He chose to drive the vehicle anyway and burned up the rebuilt unit and It was back at our shop again. So, we rebuilt his unit a second time at no charge and advise him in the same manner that he will haveto put addition work to this vehicle before it would operate correctly. For MrKapellar to state that someone "inadvertently" reconnected wires wrong is not what happened.Whomever worked on this vehicle before it came to our facility created a rats nest out of his wiringharnessPutting it back to how it was supposed to be is not "inadvertently" doing anything. We believe the wiring harness in question was already falling before we touched his vehicle and all thedealer can say is what they see.The dealer invoice did not state that something was incorrect; it stated there was damage to theharness which we noted upon its arrival(I will include this invoice with this response)Whatever Mr***'s financial situation happens to be; the fact remains that the vehicle needs morework then his AAMCO warranty allowsThese issues are not covered by the implied warrantyThe onlything covered by this warranty is the transmission. To date, the only money Mr*** has spent on this vehicle was to have the dealer tell himsomething we already told him at no cost.We appreciate the opportunity to explain what transpired while Mr***s vehicle was at ourfacility. We hope that this response will shed light on what the main problem in this complaint is.If the vehicles numerous problems were corrected and the transmission somehow still acts up wewould be happy to assist Mr*** within the limits of his AAMCO warranty. Our facility has gone far and beyond what is covered and yet, somehow we are peOple that stand In theway of his vehicle operating correctly. The only thing that stands in the way of Mr***'s vehicle operating correctly is Mr***.His refusal to correct the vehicles other issues will continue to hamper its drivability and will make itdifficult to surmise if the work done on the transmission is sound. In closing, it should be noted that this complaint is not a reflection on AAMCO Huntington Beach'sability to repair vehicles; but a complaint about a person's financial status and ability to try to have abureau attempt to force someone else to finance his additional repairs. Sincerely, *** *** AAMCO Huntington Beach
