The first time I brought my car into the shop it has An issue with the car's transmission slipping and not engagingI took it to *** and crew at AAMCCO and they took a look over itThey gave me an initial price of $to fix a torque converter alone with the labor fees and fluids, etcThe next day I get a call back with them telling me that they found another problem and it is not going to be a $1,price now but he was 100% sure that this would fix itWe told him that this would be alright and go go aheadA few days later I get a third call backThis time it's involving the torque converter, valves body, and mode problems that he never mentioned to us beforehandBut this time the price went from $1,to $2,500.00, I asked him if he knew of all the issues going on, and if it was going to be cheaper to get new transmission at this pointHe then told me it would be cheaper to rebuild it, as he as very coffident that it would be fixed soon and no problems would persistHe proceeded to tell me that they preform this type of repairs many times a month so it should be smooth and I would have it back in a week's timeThat was almost months ago, and they kepg mg car for a total of daysForcing me to use my uncleS car for almost a monthAnd multiple times afterThat problem worked itself out as they do not know what caused itNow I have a transmission that stalls, slips, jerks when coming go a stop, and it does now perform as it shouldI have taken my car back so many timesI am currently waiting to take if to them again and this will litter ally be the 13th or 14th time, so many now that its hard to found

To whom it may concern,MrsM***'s chrysler minivan came into our shop with axle seal leaks We replaced both axle seals, which would normally be an easy fix Unfortunately on this vehicle, the passenger side axle leak didn't get fixed on the first attempt
On the second visit to our shop we confirmed that the passenger side was indeed still leaking. We also noticed that someone had replaced both axles prior to us working on the vehicle for the first time Replacement axles can have a huge impact on whether or not an axle seal will seal properly.Things like vibration, surface imperfections, machining of seal surface, and retaining clip are a few examples of things that can cause an axle seal to not seal properly MrsM*** was made aware of this, and she was informed that if the axle seal continued to leak she will need to return to whoever replaced her axles and get the passenger side warrantied out The axle seal did leak again, but the M***s are unwilling to follow our recommendation They just want money. The vehicle was damaged when it arrived here Not only did we document it on their diagnostic form, we also rewound our video tapes to the time the vehicle was brought into the shop and the video shows that it clearly was already damaged prior to us working on it.Unfortunately, they parked the vehicle off of our property when they dropped it off, so I cannot see in our surveillance system whether or not it was damaged prior to dropping it off I suppose it's possible that someone from one of the other businesses in the general vicinity could've hit the van, but we will never know because they parked it in front of someone else's business outside of the viewing area of our surveillance systemThe damage has nothing to do with this claim We have already established thru our video that the damage did not happen as a result of our negligence So that leaves the repeat leak The axle seal is under warranty The M***s have not even brought the vehicle back so we can confirm that it is even still leaking They just want money If they bring the vehicle back so we can confirm it, we can either fix it here, or they can bring it to one of our other locations to be repaired under warranty. If they do return to get the leak fixed, we will need proof that the passenger side axle has been replaced before we put another seal in.We cannot continue replacing seals for free when a customer ignores our recommendationsThe original seal leaked after axle replacement(at a different shop) The first seal that we installed leaked, and the second replacement seal is also leaking It doesn't take a specialist to determine that something else is causing the leak.Thank You,Ron K***Manager, AAMCO Surprise

To whom it concerns,
In regards to answering all of these questions I would like to begin by saying i'm sorry that you feel this way and that you broke down on your tripAs I do a lot of traveling I always try and put myself on my customers shoesMy first
response to the vehicle that transported you was that it was our service vehicle that is used often when family's are broke down and can not fit in the tow truckOur first objective is to get the family safe and off of the interstate as quickly as possibleI am sorry you felt it was dirty and I will have that addressedI have been in some very filthy cabs as wellWe let you know up front the charges for the service before we were on scene and as a paying customer you did have the right to refuse and call for a taxiMy staff is very accommodating as well and since you were traveling if you would have asked for the name or number of a cab service we would have done that for you as wellI am not sure how long it wound have taken them to get to you on interstate between exits and in the medianWe discussed this information with AAA as well before any service was doneAfter calling the tire shop that you were to be taken to originally they were called on your behalf to make sure they could get the locking lug nut off without the proper key and they said they did not have the proper equipment to achieve thisOnly then was it suggested that you come to my facilityAAA was aware of this as wellBefore any work was done you were told of the charges to perform this task as the proper tools are very expensiveUnfortunately your tire which was punctured was run flat on the rim (nothing could have been done differently on your part as you were at highway speeds) did have damage on the inside of the tire from the rim riding on the side wallThat tire was not reusableAlso the tire size was not a common in stock sizeWe did not have it in stock then called around the area and had to go to a source not usually used to purchase a tire for you and I as well had to pay premiumUnfortunately it was a name brand tire that I would not have normally recommended but was the right size to immediately get you back on the roadBefore this was done again we asked you if you wanted us to continue looking or did you want us to get it done immediateThere is always mounting and balancing charges on top of the actual tire price as the type of weights that your type of rim requires are also very expensiveI apologize again as it it never fun to brake down and feel as though you are held hostage by a repair shop but this is not what we didWe gave you options to get you on the road quickly and safelyI have also reached out to you by telephone to have a conversation with you and still would like to hear from you. Sincerely,
J*** ***s, owner

We have researched this charge on Ms***' card and found that a classified ad was placed via our website by a person named Timothy Hill selling a Nissan AltimaHis phone number submitted on the order is ###-###-#### and email address of *** He provided us the
cardholder and billing name as *** ***We are happy to refund the $charge in dispute, but the card information was provided to us by MrHill with advertising copy for the sale of the vehicle I would suggest to Ms*** that if she has any acquaintance or family association with MrHill, that she get in touch to resolve this person using her card without her knowledgeIf there is no such association, I suggest she get in touch with her credit card company to cancel the card to avoid any further fraud by MrHill. The Florida Times-Union is a respected and established company, having done business in this city for over years, and we do not engage in fraudulent business practicesWe are regretful that Ms*** has experienced, like so many of us, credit card fraud. Her monies will be refunded shortly and if she wishes to have further contact with my company, she can email me directly at [email protected] request that she not contact any of my repsPlease let me know of any questions or if I can provide any other informationThank you

This customer has a extended warranty. They need to take it up with them they are the ones who supplied the motor. The extended warranty will only pay for repairs authorized. It was up to the customer to pay for any beyond that and they refused

I have a Acura TL Type-S with transmission problems at 85,MilesRoanoke Acura Dealership would not do warranty work and Honda Customer service said the transmission was repaired in December due to factory recallEstimates ranged from $to $to replace with a remanufactured automatic transmission B7WA modelThe prices were way too high so in September I took car to AAMCO in Salem VirginiaThere *** *** and his highly trained staff test drove the Acura, at no charge, to verify my complaintsWe all agreed that the tranny needed a rebuildThe initial estimate was $but once the tranny was disassembled it was necessary to replace the torque convertor and several hard parts inside, causing the cost to riseFor $I received a nationwide coverage of three year/36,mile warranty on parts and labor*** even gave me a small military discount as I am a war veteranThe vehicle was completed about days later but we noticed a vibration so he kept it a few more days and diagnosed and repaired the vibrationIt was either an out of balance torque convertor or just a broken motor mountBoth were replaced at no charge
It is my opinion that rebuilding my transmission kept the numbers-matching status of my vehicle, as a remanufactured tranny would have had different serial numbersIt was also cheaper to rebuild than to replaceThe shop was very professional in customer service and employees are highly skilledEven the Acura dealership will not rebuild a transmission due to it's difficulty or lack of profitabilty, they only remove and replaceIt was the employees at the Acura dealership who recommended AAMCO in Salem, VA, instead of a higher cost remanufactured unit
Even though this shop kept the car for a longer time to repair a vibration, I am pleased that they didn't just say, "the car was vibrating before I took it to them so I have to pay for further repairs"It shows that they are understanding and have a high level of integrity which is not present at many other vehicle repair shopsThanks to ***, ***, ***, and *** for their professionalism and attention to detailSincerely,

We did rebuild the transmission in this Buick Lucerne back in November of last year By the customer's own admission, this was a vehicle purchased at auction The transmission had numerous problems that were documented on the original free check(see attached) These problems were including, but not limited to, numerous trouble codes stored in the computer The transmission had internal mechanical damage prior to arriving here, causing it to slip, bang, fall out of gear completely, and turn on the check engine light
The transmission was rebuilt to manufacturer's specs, but we noticed that one of the prior codes had returned: P*** (pressure switch anomaly) I warned *** that we would have to keep an eye on this because it seemed to be a very intermittent problem that could be difficult to diagnose because of the intermittent nature of the issue She agreed to take the car and drive it for the days and return for a follow up check The light came back on, she returned, but the problem had disappeared by the time she arrived Yes, the light was still on, but the vehicles computer will store a code for a pre-determined amount of time even if the problem is not there any more We drove the car NUMEROUS TIMES and couldn't recreate the conditions that were causing the code All of the original problems: Falling out of gear, slipping, banging, were fixed We admitted whole heartedly that there was a remaining issue that we needed to take care of, but she did not even try to understand that an intermittent problem can be one of the most difficult to diagnose This code P*** can be caused by issues in the computer, wiring harness, and/or any connector in between It could even be the underlying cause that made the transmission fail in the first place She cannot seem to grasp this concept, and just wants us to fix it and FIX IT NOW She even asked me why we don't replace the computer and wiring harness on every transmission job?!?!

We regret the issues that Mr*** has bad with his truckWe have done nothing but try to help and be proactive when any issues have arisenWith that being said, there are other issues with this truck that are affecting the transmission performance that are still left in disrepairThe
turbo charger doesn't work, which has a HUGE impact on shift timing and qualityAlso, when you get up to 45mph, the vehicle has a "death shake" that is so pronounced that anyone in their right mind would park this truck until the problem is fixedThis makes it impossible for us to safely take the vehicle for an extended road test.Mainly, the biggest problem with Mr***' truck(which he has failed to mention in his complaint) is that the transmission's cooling system is in utter disrepairThe reason the transmission had a repeat failure is because the transmission cooler line popped out and the transmission lost all of it's fluidMr*** was advised(again), at that time, to replace the transmission cooler and all of the cooler lines to avoid another failure of the transmission, His response was that he refuses to spend any more money on the vehicleThe cooler system on this vehicle is falling apartYou can tell by all of the new clamps in several locations in the system, that leaks have been an ongoing problem on tbis vehicleLeaks cause ?transmission failure, PERIODI sent several photos of the problem areas to Mr***, and he seems to understand now that these issues need to be fixed immediately.I pride myself on customer serviceIt's my mission and my duty to our customersTo hear Mr*** say that he would never refer anyone to this company upsets meIt upsets me because, despite the other problems his vehicle has had, we have always helped him get his truck fixed(for free) every time he has had an issueFor him to ignore his responsibility of getting these lines fixed and put all of the blame on us is absolutely unfairNo one's transmission repair would have held up with the truck in the condition that it is. A lot of other shops probably wouldn't have repaired it under warranty eitherWe did thoughIf that is "The worst experience" for him, then so be it.I noted on his most recent invoice(which he signed) that if the cooler and cooler lines are not replaced within miles of the odometer reading documented on his invoice, his warranty will no longer be valid

Mrs*** had her car towed from the dealer to our facility on December 8, After performing our multi-point inspection it was determined that the vehicle had an internal transmission problemBecause we repair the original transmission we need to remove, dismantle, and
inspect the internal components of the transmission in order to determine what parts are needed when there is an internal problemAt this point, Mrs*** authorized the internal inspection of the transmission partsOnce we completed the Internal inspection, the price we quoted Mrs*** for the transmission rebuild was nearly $less than the dealer price with the same warrantyWe never told Mrs*** that the price would be $less than the dealerMrs*** decided that she preferred a dealer transmission and that she was going to tow the car back to the dealershipShe told us to leave the transmission removed from the vehicle as it would be more convenient for the dealer to just install their transmission and not have to remove the transmission If we re-installed it back into the vehicleShe also indicated that she would save money in labor costs to keep it removed as the dealer would charge her to remove the transmissionThe removal and inspection fee was $which SHE chose to pay by cash

Revdex.com:)my car has since been taken to a reputable business and it took them just days to fix problem and get it ready for Inspections I have dealt with Aamco for the past years, they have lost me as a customerThank you. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved

In regards to your follow up letter regarding ID ***, I have enclosed both repair orders that we have on file for the above ID number, as you can tell on RO# *** the engine rpm's would drop to rpm's and then the engine would die out, told customer we could try the idle air control valve and this may or may not fix this and as you can read the customer was told this up front and he wanted us to try this part. The second RO# *** the diagnostic test showed the engine would still die out at times but the idle did not drop to rpm's, so the idle air control valve we replaced was actually working correctly but since he felt like it was defective we ordered another sensor and put that on and it too was working So the sensor we installed is actually working and therefore we need to do more testing to help determine what was actually happening now to cause the engine to stall out.Spoke to customer about the excessive battery connections that the customer had installed on this truck and told him altering the charging system and all these connections could be causing some of their problems and customer began cursing at the manager at that point and raising his voice and the customer was told he could pick his vehicle up that he could not speak to people in that tone, that we were just trying to help him get to the root of his problem Enclosed you will find copies of the RO's in question, as well as hand written notes that were given in this case.*** ***Mananger

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/11/16) */
We check it and told her the water pump was bad & she needed oneWe put the water pump in on Oct 2nd and she paid for itWe informed her to bring it back and let us recheck it because it is not circulating coolantThere was no point in her
spending money on the whole top of the engine if she did not need toShe came back a week later and said it was still running warm sometimes but sometimes it was notWe checked it again on Oct 8th and we told her she did indeed need a head gasket checked and servicedShe stated why didn't we do that originally, and I said because it was cheaper to do the water pump, regardlessHe knew the water pump needed replacement no matter whatIt was going to be money spent one way or the otherNow, she thinks she didn't need the water pump, but she did no matter whatThe gasket was what was in questionsWe were doing the customer a favor by possibly saving her money in the long runThis is all of our notesWe have all the notes in our system

Dear ***,
Mrs*** came to our center on April 4, Her complaint was that her transmission was slipping and the car revs up and slipsShe did not mention any other problemWe performed our multi-point inspection and confirmed her transmission problemIn addition
the technician noted a growl coming from the wheel bearingWe spoke to Mrs*** about the transmission problem and the wheel bearing problemMrs*** chose to repair the transmission but wanted to change the wheel bearing at a later time as she expressed that money was tight at this timeShe inquired if the wheel bearing was a serious issue and it was explained that it could be driven but should be changed in the near futureShe authorized the transmission repairs and picked the vehicle up on April 8, It is alarming that Mrs*** is now taking the stance that she brought her vehicle in for a wheel bearing problem when in fact we pointed it out to her.
Cordially,
AAMCO Transmission

On January 29th Airtron serviced *** *** furnaceThe furnace is operating properly
