I got in touch with Adams D&R due to a request I had submitted on Thumbtack for a repair/remodel job at my home that needed to be completed within a very short time frame so it could be ready just in time for my husbands 50th surprise birthday party I was hosting We initially had a contractor out at our home because of a flood that occurred a few weeks, and when it came time for repairs to start they kept dragging their feet so I fired them and decided to post a request on Thumbtack to see if I would have any luck on there, and turns out I did! Morgan, who I just have to say was the sweetest little thing, was my initial contact who scheduled her estimator, Ray, to come out to our home and look at the repairs and compare it to the estimate that the insurance had already created Turns out the insurance missed a few things but Ray was able to get the missed line items approved with in hours from my adjuster and get the repairs started the next day! Hugo and Jose were the workers that came out to repair my home, and they were just wonderful hard workers that did a spectacular job, they even helped me with a few miscellaneous smaller repairs at my home that were on my husbands "to do" list that is never ending which was so convenient! I couldn't be happier with the outcome and how quickly they were able to get everything done! I am really happy with the experience I had with this company and its really hard to find contractors that you can trust these days which, which is why I wanted to share my experience with others As soon as I can get my daughter to show me how to upload photos from my "smartphone" which is still foreign to me and probably always will be, I will post the before and after pictures so everyone can see how amazing the final repairs turned out

I want to start off by saying I personally have been in management and customer service for 5+ years, therefore it took a lot in me to write this as I like to be as understanding as I possibly can with businesses who work to serve their customersIn this instance, this company did not do their due diligence to serve their customerI signed a contract with Adams to do my restoration after I was practically forced into itThey completed my mitigation, but then they overcharged my boyfriend's card by $when he went into their office to payAfter discussing this with the owner, we decided that instead of refunding me, they would use the extra $toward the deposit on restorationI did not want to do use them, but it was easier than arguing with themI then asked for them to come in and do a restoration estimateThey told me I needed to put down 70% of the total amount I received from insurance for them to do this (roughly $was my insurance check) I made the mistake of

I was referred to Adams Disaster and Restoration July when a pipe broke in my bathroom While they were quick to come out to dry out the bathroom and pull everything out, they took their time on restoring my bathroom Many calls of saying someone was coming out to perform work and I would either take off of work or work from home, but no one would show up and without a heads up until I called them This went on for over a month Mind you, I live in a one bedroom condo and this was my only bathroomFinally the ball began rolling and my bathroom started being restored...but with very unprofessional workers who had no idea what they were doing It appeared Adams was short staffed so they would pull workers from other jobs to satisfy the customers who were complaining about work not being done Then workers would show up not even knowing what they were doing My drywall had to be redone because it was attempted by someone who had no idea what they were doing...it was lumpy...who wants lumpy walls?? And the same guy installed my tile...afterwards he tells me it was his first tiling jobWell, I can tell you, it definitely looked that way My grout is crumbling and coming up...the tile isn't cut straight, a one piece is even crackedThey wanted to send someone out to fix it; however, with the experience I've had with them, I want no more of their cheap unprofessional laborers to step one foot in my home So they claim began in mid-July and ended in SeptemberNow they say I owe more money Well, I cut corners on the vanity, etc so they definitely pocketed a lot of money They won't send me an itemized bill for what I owe, they just keep hounding me for payment over the phoneI am now dealing with my insurance to have this resolved Please do not ever use Adams Disaster and Restoration, Inc...they are a nightmare to deal with and do horrible work

In short, it took months for them to complete work on our bathroom, we were charged $more out of pocket than we were initially quoted and when time came to resolve issues they could not provide for me the initial estimate on the job they completedI was also able to confirm that they lied on their website in regard to the organizations to which they belongedThat is the short of it, but please take the time to read this full review before you choose to work with them
To their defense, most of our problems came from a project manager that is no longer with their companyWhat he did and the mistakes he made I will leave out as I was told he was let goThat being said, it is ridiculous that their oversight allowed for what happened to happen
When it came time to try to make it right, the first step was to get someone out to redo pieces of a bad tile jobIt was not until the FIFTH appointment that it actually got fixedTwo times, the appointment was cancelled the day ofOne time they showed up over an hour before they were supposed to and when we asked them to return after my wife had taken our kids to school, they left and never came backThe other time people showed up who had no idea what they were supposed to be doing and, as such, were unpreparedThey told us they would be running out to buy equipment they needed and would be back in minutesMy wife waited around for 3+ hours before they showed back up to say they couldn't do itRemember, this was their attempt to fix what was already a complete nightmare
Finally fixed, I followed up on the billMy wife paid what was asked without much thought, trusting that it was still owedWhen I circled back around, I found what was supposed to be $out of pocket for us after insurance coverage, ended up being $out of pocketI attempted to get the original estimate from them but they claimed to have lost it, then they said they had it, then they actually didn't, then they did but what they provided was not what I asked forFor a company not to have the original estimate for the job they completed means they are either incompetent or they are liarsBased on my experience and what I found later, I believe they are both
While following up on this, I investigated the reputable organizations to which they claimed to be part of via their website (the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration and the Restoration Industry Association)Those organizations are, indeed, reputableAdams D&R being members of those organizations was falseBoth organizations confirmed that, at the time of my inquiry, Adams D&R were not membersI brought this up to one of their employees, and she confirmed that they were not, but they were working on getting it backIn the meantime, though, they did not remove it from their website or post any kind of disclaimer
I was finally offered a refund of $I continued to ask for the original estimate, but they would not provide it and discontinued contact with meThis was, by far, the worst customer service experience we have ever had and we actively steer people away from working with Adams

I am responding to the complaint #*** for Marilyn O***I have spoken with Marilyn and I assured her that I will have someone at her home to make sure she is taken care ofThere are a couple of things I want to have checked out for her and taken care ofI explained to her more about water restorationShe was very nice and I enjoyed talking to herI told her next week I will have someone call her and schedule to look at her concernsI wanted to let you know what the situation is at this point

Waiting almost months to receive a reimbursement check due to services not rendered *** Codemanded 75% of the allocated insurance money upfront before any work can be done in the dwelling April 11, we gave them $and after month only wall patches around the sink pipes were half completed We cancelled any further work them when they demanded another $10,from us At that point, they quickly tried to get our cabinets repaired and installedBut that didn't happen for days and once delivered, they could not be installed After many calls, they finally agreed to reimburse us for $3, It is now June and we haven't been able to get this money back The office staff will not even give us another phone number to call a manager or accounting office to track down our check Our phone number is given to their manager who is suppose to call us back That never happens So our only recourse is to request help from the Revdex.com

Adams D & R, Inc., completed a drywall and paint repair from a water damage that occurred in my guest bathroom on January 24, Adams readily responded after a local plumbing company referred them to meA subcontractor was assigned to do the repair work On February 18, 2016, the work was completed However, after a thorough review, I noticed several discolorations on the bathroom walls as well as a deep seam left by the initial drywall removal above the baseboard next to the affected closet I simply cannot understand how it went unnoticed
Further, after an affected cabinet was reinstalled, the workers failed to repair the splintered edge of a cabinet Lastly, there were noticeable scratches left on a baseboard after a table was returned to its place, and excessive grout was left on the bottom corner of the bathroom vanityThe company sent a worker back out to correct the errors although the grout was never removed, the seam remains noticeableThe worker left without notifying the customer
I would not recommend this company; there was a lack of follow-up, several calls were not returned, and the work was not up to par, leaving the customer dissatisfied
I was told that the company would be back out to review the final work, but no one came

I have a great experience with Adams Disaster & RestorationI had some water damage in bathroom the other day when I got home from work, I didn't know what the cause was, but I did know that it was coming from my toilet somehowIt turns out that when I got new toilets at my home about a year ago, the plumber I hired to install them, which I choose to keep anonymous, never set wax rings, per the plumbing company I called to come out to my property after I discovered the water damage, *** ***, they were great as wellAdams came out to my property at a pretty late hour, which I was pretty impressed with, the tech Alex was very knowledgable, as well as the rest of the techs that came to my property for the monitors, and they were very helpful and honestWe decided not to go through the insurance, due to the damage being rather minimal, and a lot of the water from the toilet happened to be on just the tile mainly, so therefor it wasn't necessary for me to file a claim, so they gave me a pretty reasonable cash price, they also worked with me in regards to my bill, and gave me the option of making payment plans witch was very helpful

In October we had a leak inside of our wall that caused damage to our drywallWe called Adams D&R because my plumber recommended themThe first part of the job which was *** went well and repairs were completed
We ran into a problem with part two of the job which was replacing damaged cabinets in the garage that had to be ripped out to repair the leak which was located behind the hot water heater
We received a check for part two of the work based on a supplemental that Adam's submitted to the insurance company *** in the amount of $***, check date was 11/18/Adams quickly collected the checkWe asked for a change in the design of the replacement cabinets which we were told was completely doable by the Adams estimaterThe change involved asking for cabinets that were inches wider in depth and going with less costly industrial shelving on the other side of the garage instead of a second set of cabinets that had been removedThe reasoning was to put th

Absolutely recommending Adams Disaster and Restoration to anyone who's looking to get the best job done! The staff was very friendly and professional and communication to ensure the best service has been greatly appreciated

Back in July we got a call from our neighbors stating that water was coming out of our front door while we were out of the country, on vacation, in England Turns our water heater had bursted and since nobody was watching our home it had leaked for several hours, causing a tremendous amount of water damage to the entire bottom floor of our home Getting a call like this was extremely stressful, especially being in another country, however Adams D&R made things quite a breeze for us, as they handled everything from helping us three way call our insurance company, to attending the adjuster meeting, to the final repair and everything in between The office staff sent us photos and updates daily via email to show us the damages and the progress of the repairs, the technicians were able to get everything covered by our insurance so we only had to pay our deductible out of pocket, simply everything went extremely smooth and they were able to handle everything for us without us being there, making our vacation as relaxing as possible and keeping my mind at ease that my home was being taken care of in good hands We just got home on Friday after being gone for a month and a half and I could not be more thrilled with the outcome At first it seemed like a nightmare having this occur while we were out of the country, not being physically present to handle the issue, however now that I think of it, this couldn't have happened at a better time as we did not have ;live in the home during the remediation, however I don't think this would have been the case if we weren't lucky with our choice of choosing Adams D&R for our home restoration Thanks a billion, you guys are awesome!

To Whom It May Concern: This is in response to complaint ID# *** Lisa signed our authorization forms to do her water mitigation remediationThis was a Cat loss, meaning it was black water and needed to be done do to health issues and industry standardsTesting was done by
another companyThe water mitigation was completed. The second phase is to do the recon repairsAdams requires a contract to be signed before starting repairsAdams does not force anyone to signThe contract is written and given to the customer, if they want to go with usThe customer does not have to use us and can go with who they chooseAdams goes by the estimate from the insurance to protect us and our customer. The insurance writes the estimate and our PM walks the job to make sure everything is covered and included that needs to be done for the repairsAgain, Lisa signed the Construction authorizationLisa came in to our office and signed the formsNo one forced her to sign anything. The customer is required to pay us the deductibleLisa’s boyfriend had paid the deductibleThis was not an overcharge of her boyfriend’s cardIt is also required to put a percentage down on the repairsIt covers some of the materials that are needed to do the jobAdams received an amount down by credit card. Adams revised a supplement estimate for the customer to try and get everything covered that needed to beThis estimate was sent August 1st to the insuranceAdams had not had any complaints from the customer from the water mitigation or recon repairs up through this timeAdams had been keeping in contact with the insurance to see if the supplement had been approved so we could move forwardThe only complaint that we heard was the customer was frustrated with the insurance for taking so long. This is totally out of Adams handsFinally, on August 15th Lisa’s boyfriend said they decided not to do the repairs with usLisa is the homeowner and our contract is with her not her boyfriend. There is a 25% fee for cancellation of the contractThe fee covers our time, walks and estimatesWe do supplements and that takes timeWe try to get everything covered that needs to be for the customerSometimes the customer wants to take that money and pocket it, which is illegal to doIf the customer does not have the repairs done and they have another leak, then the insurance will not cover itLisa ended up letting us know to take the 25% off and refund the restOur accountant cuts all refunds for customers and this is done around the end of the month or the 1st. Adams understood that the customer was informed we would refund the moneyThe check was cut on the first and the accountant will bring the checks to our office to sign and mail out. MsMoore should have her refund this weekAdams has been in business for years and takes a lot of pride in trying to help our customersAdams is surprised by the statements made by LisaNo one forces a customer to do business with usLisa chose to do the water mitigation and we had no complaints from herAdams worked around her boyfriend’s schedule so he could be thereAdams wrote the supplement to try and get what needed to be coveredThe only complaint we heard was waiting for the Insurance to approve the coverage. Lisa said she would not have put down the percentage to do the work, but we will not do the work without the percentage downAdams did not do anything wrong. The that MsMoore states was an overcharge was not, it was the deductible owed that they gave us. Adams had actually closed out the repairs because we didn’t know if Lisa was going to go with us. Once she decided to have us do the work we made sure all the forms were signed and agreed to. Adams did tell the customer that the refund would be processed. She should have been told that our accountant takes care of any refunds and cuts the checks. The refund is for The total of the repairs before the supplement was 2,x 25%The amount of 1,was paid by the customer, minus the 25% of 735.00, equals Adams is sorry for any misunderstandingAdams went above and beyond to try and help get everything covered for the customerAdams feels that Lisa is more frustrated about the refund and made untrue comments out of this frustrationAdams in no way forced the customer to do anything. Adams feels bad that it has taken the insurance so long to make any decisionAdams contract was with Lisa and that is who we are obligated toThat was nice of her boyfriend to help her pay, but we don’t make those decisionAdams did work around his scheduleHopefully, Lisa, will understand that Adams did not have a bad attitude towards them, but it is the contract that we go byAdams apologizes for any misunderstandingsAdams takes a lot of pride in helping our customersAdams has a large amount of work and it is because we look out for our customers Adams uses the same program as most insurances to insure our customers get fair pricing and are not taken advantage ofAdams has a good Revdex.com rating and would not be in business this long if we were not good at our servicesSincerely, Cindy A***

I had a wonderful experience with Adams D&R from the second they stepped foot in my home to the final paint touch-upsThey made the entire process from filing the claim with my insurance to calling my adjuster to get him to approve a hotel room for my family during the duration of the repairs to helping us pick out flooring that we liked that was in our budget a breeze, basically taking all the work off our plate and making sure that the process was as stress-free, comfortable, and effortless for us as possibleShane, the owner, even was able to get our adjuster to approve and cover new flooring throughout our entire home as he initially was not going to cover after we had our first adjuster meeting, but after we informed Adam's reconstruction team about this dilemma they had Shane call the adjuster and they set up another meeting for Shane and the adjuster to re-walk the loss where the adjuster finally then approved it onsiteI honestly am not sure what I would have done if Adams D&R was not there to hold my hand through this ordeal as I have never had water damage or ever had used my homeowners insurance beforeThanks Adams! You rock!
