This company is a scam!!. Beware!!! They'll sweet talk you into getting their system and then if something goes wrong, they'll ignore you if it's their fault, and they'll be aggressively demanding from you if you are in trouble financially. Their products are chinese. Meaning poor quality. You are better off buying your own equipment for less than $300.00 and have a monitoring company service for less than $15.00 a month. That's right!! Less than $15.00 a month!! Today I pay $9.95/mo. By experience I tell you that they will not honor a promise or commitments made by their representatives. I am glad my service with ADT was terminated. I am now saving 75% of what I used to pay these vultures. If you are paying more than $15.00/mo, you are being ripped of!

My ADt system kept breaking down and I would call for service. It would take between a month and two weeks to get a service man to fix the problems, which were numerous. The system would then break down again leaving me without service for weeks and a month at a time. I complained and ADTsaid they would credit my bill for a month for lack of service. Finally I had another service install a completely new system which works fine. In the meantime ADT did not credit me with the amount for lack of service and then billed me for an extra month when I cancelled their service. Then they started harrasing phone calls before I even got a final bill insisting I pay the bill immediately. DO NOT USE ADT, THEIR SYSTEM IS FOCUSED TOTALLY ON EXTRACTING MONEY FROM YOU WITHOUT PROVIDING SERVICE. THEIR SERVICE PEOPLE ARE WAY OVERSTREACHED AND CANNOT ADEQUATELY SERVICE THEIR CUSTOMERS.

To be clear, to date we have never had any issues with our system and coverage. However, since changing over affiliation with ADT, our customer service has been less than satisfactory. It began with a call to have a fob repaired/replaced. This led to the quick delivery of a new fob. Next, I made a call to have the fob added to our system. I was told that someone would contact me to assist me. This never happened and our main panel soon began to remotely of through diagnostics and boot up. The system continued to do so and soon became apparent that the system was flawed. I then called to report and have some action taken to fix the system. Once again, I was told that someone would contact me to discuss and repair. That call never transpired and our system ceased to operate completely. We our not impressed by the professionalism and customer service. As a customer paying good money for security, we expect prompt and courteous service.

In April 2012 my mother had ADT installed in her home after my father passed away in 2011. She wanted to feel safe now that she lived alone. Thinking she was making the right decision, she calls ADT. It wasn't until a few months later in 2012 that I then found out the amount of money they charged my mother for the installation. After taxes the install amount was $718.78 for 3 doors, 1 motion, 1 keypad, 1 siren. And the siren, keypad, motion & 1 door were all within 6' or less of the control panel. Having installed alarms myself in the past, I knew this was a ridiculous amount to charge an elderly widow on a Social Security budget. I was out of town at the time of the installation, but had I been there at the time, this install would have never happened. My mother had been locked in to a 3 year contract until last week April 15th, 2015 at which time I cancelled the service and disconnected everything. Simple home security installations are usually free with most companies that I have ever been aware of, however I guess not if you are an elderly person calling ADT. Who takes advantage of a 77 year old widow on a fixed income?? ADT that's who!

ADT called repeatedly to tell me that they needed to upgrade their equipment in my rental home. My tenant called back and scheduled "appointments" with them (in quotes because they are 3 hour windows, not appointments). My tenant took time off work and other obligations to sit and wait. The first two times, they never showed or called. The third time, they showed up 4 hours after the window ended, then counted it as a customer no show (tenant was at work by then). When I called ADT to discuss the situation, the customer service person was extremely rude and so I cancelled ADT and have switched to SimpliSafe.

I have had an ADT system for nearly 20 years. I had an very frustrating experience with Corporate Customer Support. They were too busy telling me that I misunderstood Tech support and the Field Tech when they told me my system hadn't worked over the last year. they also told me the reason I couldn't run a simple test of the system was "me". I tried to talk with the rep to go through the entire process I went through and what I understood the issue to be but she was too busy talking to hear what I had to say. While the alarm was fixed they destroyed my faith in ADT. I am happy to say ADT is no longer my security provider.

I HAVE HAD ADT SERVICE AT MY BUSINESS FOR OVER 15 YEARS. RECENTLY WE HAD A BREAKIN, THE FRONT GLASS WAS SMASHED AND THE BUGLAR(S) WALK IN A STOLE WHATEVER THEY WANTED. THE ALARM SYSTEM NEVER WENT OFF, IT WAS STILL ARMED WHEN I ARRIVED. THE MOST FRUSTRATING
PART IS TRYING TO GET ADT ON THE PHONE, ALWAYS AT LEAST A MINIMUM OF A 45 MIN WAIT, IF THEY ANSWER AT ALL. THEY SENT OUT A TECH FINALLY;BUT HE DID NOT FIX THE SYSTEM. I CALLED ADT THE NEXT DAY TO SCHEDULE AGAIN I WAITED FOR OVER 1H 20MIN STILL NO ANSWER. I CALLED AGAIN AND SELECT NEW SERVICE THEY ANSWERED WITHIN 10 MIN. WHAT GOOD IS A ALARM SYSTEM THAT DOES WORK. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ADT SERCURITY TO ANYBODY. THEY ARE THE POOREST EXCUSE FOR A SECURITY COMPANY I CAN THINK OF.

ADT has the most horrible customer service. I called July 15 2016 to cancel my services was told everything was entered and good to go. I called back August 3, 2016 to provide my new address to receive my final bill which I wanted and expected to pay. The rep at that time stated my services where not canceled and said she would help me with that; asked for my new address and proceeded to share I had a cancelation fee. I asked what that fee was? She stated I was hoping you didn't ask she shared what the fee was and I was confused as since 2010 never had any upgrades I explained that in November 2015 a ADT tech came to home, but it was due to letters ADT kept sending stating our system needed upgrading due to 3G requirements and our system was obsolete stamped with urgent. After receiving the third letter decided to call and they confirmed yes my system needed updating. I asked at that point if I would be paying anything and they stated no. The ADT tech was literally in and out in under 10 mins inserted something in our wall unit and said we were updated and now could use the APP they had, plus stated I can give you a camera for free. I stated I didn't want anything to change just wanted to ensure our system worked for the security of my family. He said ok had me sign paper of the system being good. NOW they tell me I was upgraded and when I signed it was a 36 month contract hence I have to pay a $931.30 cancelation fee. I could've easily just transferred the service but feel in principal can not do business with a company that deceived me and now all they say is you have a contract. The root of issue is the only reason they set foot on my house was due to letters stating my system would not work properly and not be supported. That seems to me as just a fix and not a reason to secretly sign me up for a 36 month contract. I will never do business with ADT again. Since August 3rd I have been waiting for a call back from a manager and nothing. I called August 5, 2016 to only speak with a Ms. [redacted] and in all honesty ADT could save money just hiring parrots since all she could say is you have a contract up to five times. Again, not listening to a good paying customer since 2010. She gave me the same run around a manager will call you back. It is August 8, 2016 and have not heard from anyone.

My history with ADT:
1- Had to wait approximately 3 weeks to get a technician to install the system
2- He failed to install the system (main component or "brain") where I asked him to
3- Tech made a mess drilling holes and trimming wires without cleaning anything up
4- He failed to program one of our key fobs
5- Tech that came to program fob was 3 hours late without even a phone call
6- I later discovered they had connected the system to a switched circuit
7- No signage was left with us as promised. This had to be sent to us later
8- My alarm started going off randomly. When I called for service, they walked me through steps to "reset" the system
9- More alarms go off. I had to disconnect the system myself. (Apparently I now work for ADT.)
10- I was told that there wasn't a

I have been a loyal ADT customer for over 20 years. On December 13, 2016, my alarm went off early in the morning. It was a false alarm. I called ADT. The representative gave me misinformation which resulted in a $301.30 electrical damage bill. ADT refused to credit my account with the amount of damages caused by their poorly trained employee. If you use ADT, you can count on false alarms, poor customer service, and incompetent representatives.

I tried to contract adt as a security for my home, when salesperson came after all the sales pitch we decided to sign the contract, when he was making the appointment I heard for a week and a half later I told him that I wanted it sooner than that he said not to worry, that he just take that date to accommodate later with hes supervisor, bottom line he gave me the run around wasted a week waiting at the end the only available date was the one he got at the beginning.... deceitful

I cancelled ADT on the third day. The reasons were; they tell you over the phone how much equipment you are receiving but not the final cost. I have a small two bedroom house and according to them with the "free" equipment I still needed almost $600 in extras. I had just been burglarized, was stressed out, and felt taken advantage of by what was obviously a salesman, not a regular installer. The second day a sensor fell off the window the burglar came in. Contacted ADT and was told they would call back in 48 hours. At approximately 46 hours I called them and was told they had called me as I was on the phone with ADT (no call registered on my phone). In addition, the person raised his voice at me because I was upset. Before someone finally came out another day later, the sensor fell off again and woke me up in the middle of the night. Not a good thing when you were just burglarized. The second installer told me the 1st person should NOT have used that type of sensor in a bathroom due to moisture. At that point I had already cancelled because of these problems and due to the horrible customer service. Long waits, reps not able to answer questions accurately, etc. I am still waiting for my full refund even though they state 10 business days after receipt. I know it was received over 10 business days ago because someone called to ask why I cancelled. I called yesterday and the ADT customer rep. stated yes we received but it hasn't been APPROVED yet. The contract states 10 business days after receipt, not approval, but she had no answer for that. I dealt with Defenders Inc., an authorized dealer for ADT.

I used to love ADT and thought they did a phenomenal job from the technicians going the extra mile to help you out, to the customer service reps on the phone following up other area reps to make sure my need was met. The equipment and install job was impeccable for six years that I had service with them through a hardwired system.
Then, in January 2015, the third floor condo had a hot water heater bust and the water damage traveled to my unit on the ground floor and destroyed my hardwood floors, which in turn, caused repairs to include taking out the previous hard-wired ADT system. That, my friends, is when it all went downhill. When ADT tried to adamantly tell me that they don't do hard-wired systems anymore, but that they've switched to the CRAP-tastic wireless base.
I can't even BEGIN to describe all of the issues we had with the "new and improved" system. From DAY ONE, it never worked and I was constantly calling service technicians out but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I'd beg every time to be switched back to hard-wire and they'd say there's no way that there'd be wires across ours floors at this point with the new floors in.
Low and behold, a wonderful technician is sent to us as another last attempt to figure out our connection issue, and THE TECHNICIAN ACTUALLY SAYS THAT HE DOES NOT RECOMMEND THE SYSTEM TO ANYONE AND THAT HE REVIEWED IT NEGATIVELY WHEN IT WAS IN BETA TESTING. Even ADT's own employees KNOW it's a piece of crap! The one good thing that has come out of all of this, has been that this gentleman pieced together a hard-wired base to the wireless pieces and it has been brilliant ever since.
That is just the equipment issue. The other main reason why I am so livid with this company and think they need to be fined just like Comcast, is because they have repeatedly messed up my bill, overcharged me, and totally LIED to me when I can show PROOF of why I should be charged or should be refunded. Their bills are NOT transparent, so the customer often times is not able to clearly read where the charges are coming from. Once you get past the initial setup, my experience with the automatic billing has been fine, but I am still dealing with un-authorized charges made by ADT to my bank for transfer installation after I moved, and that's after the TWO AND A HALF MONTHS of not having service, because yet again, the install guy who came INSTALLED it incorrectly! Apparently, they contract installers out who aren't always up to date on all of the equipment nor know how to operate it. It's ridiculous! I'm so sick and tired of paying for services that I don't receive or when I receive them, it's wrong! We literally had THREE technicians come out in one day because the initial install was not done correctly, so the system kept beeping.
ADT needs to be held accountable for their shady billing system and WORSE than poor training of their installers!

Short and not sweet. DO NOT choose ADT as a "Security" provider. I was a customer for 15 years and had too many problems to present here. If you value your property or safety, look elsewhere.

There are many other choices now. Don't be fooled by the "ADT" logo. it's not even close to being the company it was and in my opinion a shady business.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO AND DEAL WITH ADT: Let's start off by saying over two weeks ago I spoke to an adt agent about adding a fire system on top of our alarm system. Granted we agreed for the technician to show up on a Saturday October 4th and to wait between 12-5pm. Well October the 2nd showed up and I got a call by an installer that he was at my home and was ready to install the fire detector. I told him that the agent and I agreed for a Saturday installation between 12-5pm. Well I waited Saturday and some installer showed up wanting to upgrade the system from a 2g to a 3g. I had to call adt to see what that was about and they said that they had that already scheduled without my knowledge. I said ok but what about the fire detector installer? They said he should be there also. We waited until 4pm and got tired of waiting so I called adt and asked them where's the tech? Apparently they said that the tech wasn't going to be able to show up. [redacted] OFF ONCE HERE. Well Tuesday October 7th comes around and I get a recorded message to confirm installation on Thursday Oct. 9th. I had to call adt and see what that was all about sine I never was given any prior notice of someone showing up on a Thursday again. Got the run around on how they couldn't find out who set up that appointment time through their notes. [redacted] OFF 2ND TIME HERE. We then agreed to Saturday Oct. 25th. I get a voicemail on my cellphone two days ago (Oct. 9th) stating that I would have a technician show up Saturday Oct. 11th between 12-5. I write this now after getting off the phone at 4pm with adt wondering what's going on and where's the technician to getting the "well I don't see anything in the notes" run around again. After years of service with ADT, I'm offically done with their non-scheduling skills and moving onto [redacted] THIS COMING WEEKEND. Thanks to ADT for killing two Saturday's waiting on them to show up and then the "I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED" AGAIN.

We got ADT after a break in. We were a bit scared and wanted to go with a big name security company. Little did we know that we agreed to a 3 year contract. Neither the saleslady nor the technician made that clear to us. We didn't even realize we were in a contract until we tried to cancel 2 years later when moving. The cancellation fee is 75% of the remaining contract. At $47.99 a month, it was well over $500 for us to cancel but I just wanted to be rid of ADT for good. I switched to Simplisafe for $14.99 a month. Unlike ADT, the equipment is wireless and is super easy to install yourself. Plus, I can easily take the equipment with me if I move and just tell Simplisafe my new address. And no contracts or cancellation fees!

I was a customer with ADT for over a total of 10 years, Over that period my bills increased as the customer service decreased. 4 years ago I cancelled my home phone service. I waited to hear from ADT that they lost communication with my house. Over 4 months passed and I never received a call or contact. They had my cell number and my wife's cell number to contact us, but they kept billing me for my service. When I contact them and asked why they told me "if we don't receive an alarm, we don't receive loss of communication because of your phone line". Seems to me someone could cut my phone line and break-in. I switched to Safe-Systems 4 years ago. My cost is 20% less and when I shut my system down they call with in minutes. ADT SUCKS WASTE OF MONEY. THEY DONT CARE.

I received an advertisement letter from ADT, offering me a monthly rate of $26+ discounted rate if I signed up within 30 days, which I did. I receive retirement income which keeps me on a budget. The installer mentioned other more expensive packages which I declined because I could not afford them. Also, I live in a quite small house. Today, a young ADT employee from Indiana informed me per phone that my monthly rate is $56+ per month, which I obviously can't afford and didn't sign up for. She further stated that I wouldn't be "eligible" for a lesser rate for some time.
She then said several times that I "must not be keeping good track of my records".
I signed up for this service in December, 2015. Each month, there have been calls or letters from their various offices - Colorado, Indiana, and Florida, and each time a little different situation - miscommunication, somebody didn't enter something in the computer, and now this . Had I realized what I would experience with ADT, there is no way I would have asked for the service. I really believed ADT would be great do work with.,and instead ;it's very much the opposite.

ADT should not have an A+ rating w/ Revdex.com w/ a 76% customer satisfaction! Their management is unresponsive to problems in the field with installation & billing. Responded to ad for $27.99/ mth for wireless security protection, plus equipment charges, all charged to my credit card. When I got credit card bill 10 days later, monthly charges had almost doubled to $52.99 /mth.
Called Corporate Office & told them to pick up equipment & cancel agreement since it was NOT in accordance to my understanding. Began getting harassing phone calls 2-3 times a day threatening to trash my credit if I didn't pay & offered no cancellation plan, saying equipment, which I have disconnected & offered to return it to them if they don't come to pick it up, belongs to me.
Fortunately, my credit card reversed the bogus charges & entered fiasco into dispute.
ADT is guilty of bait & switch and scamming. No company with 25% of deals that turn sour( quoted from rep with ADT) should ever enjoy a BOGUS rating of A+!!!
Revdex.com should be ashamed to over-rate a company practicing these types of actions,
since it lowers the integrity and dependability of accreditation!

ADT DOESN'T WORK , DOESN'T WORK AND DOESN'T WORK After having ADT for my home and other properties for over 10 years combine I found out the hard way, my house was vandalize 2 days ago the signal never went out,.came home after work finding my doors open and missing so many valuable expensive items so upset I call ADT Why Didn't I get a phone call and why didn't ADT call the police? TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT AFTER THE TECH. GUY CAME TO MY HOUSE HE RE ASSURED ME ADT WAS AT FAULT
