Called ADT, they set up a "tech" to come and "recommend what to do"Asked for credit card information and states "nothing will be charged on your card, we just need it to schedule an appointment"They then charge $on my cardNo one even mentioned about this charge at all, not a peep from the techIf I hadn't checked my balance days later, they would have been successful to steal $from meOn top of it, the "tech" turns out to be a hard sales personThe very first thing that he was so eager to do was to put a screw in my wall to put up a panelI thought that was fishy and now I know whyVery very dishonest company and willing to waste consumer's time and energy

Ever since the ADT unit was installed years ago, we have not been able to use the kiosk button to "no one home"If we do then the fire dept/police comeWe have to always select the "someone home" button when we leaveWe've had a technician come reset and move the monitors at the stairsUnfortunately just last week, the fire and rescue dropped by while we were all relaxing watching a movie, eating ice cream sandwiches and they come busting in wanting to know the emergencyThese guys complained to us about the many many times they've been at our house for absolutely no emergency
My biggest fear is when I do need them, will they hurry to get here or sluggishly drag their buttsBeing a member of a firefighting family, I've heard the stories at the fire halls about frequent alarms
We've tried to cancel our ADT unit for malfunctioning and found out we are stuck in a year contractI guess we should've read the fine lines instead of agreeing to what we thought was a year contract

They are selling fake ADT security service coverage and overcharging my account for no offered service

Called ADT last year about my quarterly bill which they did lower to $a qtr 4/15/received email advising me of rate increase to $a month ( $Qtr.) vsmy current qtrbill of $I called on 4/18/(days before the end of my qtr billing cycle on 5/17/17) spoke to Keith and I advised I wanted to cancel He transferred me to Sagan of the "Cancel Team" who told me to call back hours or 4/30/or 5/1/to cancelI started researching other services and found *** *** who offered same if not better service for less than $a month Called ADT on 4/27/spoke to Stephanie who transferred me to Alisha who advised me I would receive a credit in to days of $ Called back on 5/26/or well past the to day credit time frame 11:am spoke with Phylicia who was very polite ( as I would of expected from any company) who transferred me to Ranicia She was steadfast in my paying the $ I expressed my issues over the em

I've had multiple failures of equipment and want the system out
We have an adt system and have had failures of the main panel The first tech that came out gave us the codes to reset it ourselves because he had the foresight to know this was going to be a continuing problem So, I've reset it now twice after it beeps loudly at night when it throws a code We scheduled to have a tech out today between 8-and we're told we would receive a call on the way I received a call around 11:saying the tech was going to run lateI guess this was from the dispatch center The tech never called and wrote a note that he and the plumber sat outside waiting for us He left and no callThe plumber was in the house and performed his repairsThis tells me the tech didn't need much of an excuse to leave and blame it on us not being thereWe were at work minutes away waiting to come let him in This is frustrating enough and we wouldn't have an issue if the equipment worked without w

Deceptive sales practices, refusal to cancel a contract
Last month I called ADT to cancel our servicesWe never signed with ADT to begin withyears ago, we had another monitoring company that apparently got sold to ADTFor years, we never had to use the servicesI spoke to a representative that convinced me to keep the service in exchange of a deep discountA week ago, I am receiving a past due notice for the full amount, no discount shown
This morning I called again to ask for the cancelation as obviously there was a misunderstanding and since I did not get a deep discount, I did not want the service anymore
Today though, ADT representative tells me that I do not have the authority to cancel that contract as it is under my husband's nameInterestingly enough, the bill comes to both our names, and last month I did have the authority to cancel or renew
My husband talked to ADT representative and asked to cancel the contractThe representative then said there

Dealing with ADT has been a nightmare. I cannot get them to agree to a reasonable installation date and time. They assured me they would come after I was off work but tech called 2 hours early. When I advised of my specific instructions to dospatch, the tech advised "I don't have time to wait around". After calling ADT I received nothing but a hard time. I have waited for a week now since moving in order to get my service transferred. The entire system was already installed by the previous owner. Given the comparatively highly monthly monitoring rate and the number of years I have been a customer, I find my treatment by ADT to border on the shocking. Certainly not reasonable. This company could care less about you and me. It's all "bottom line" and zero cooperation, assistance or goodwill from this company. The fact that the scheduler assured me there would be "no problem" caused me to reschedule appointments for the day. Now, the day is lost and I still have no active security system.

I HAVE TWO STORE AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED A REAL BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY DON'T CARE IF MY BUSINESS LEAVE, THEY ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT SELLING NEW EQUIPMENT. WOREST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I HAD TO WAIT 7 DAYS FOR A TECHNICIAN TO COME TO ONE OF THE STORES AND WHEN HE SHOWED UP HE SAID HE CAN'T FIX THE PANIC BUTTON I HAVE TO BUY THE NEW CORDLESS BUTTON FOR $200. WHEN I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE TO RESEND THE TECHNICIAN TO FIX THE LOSE PANIC BUTTON, THEY SAID I HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE. WHEN I SKED ABOUT THE MANAGER THEY TRANSFERRED ME TO ANOTHER PERSON BUT NOT THE MANAGER. IT TURNED OUT THAT THE MANAGER LEFT FOR THE DAY. THEY SAID THEY CN ASSSIST ME IN CLOSING THE ACCOUNT.
I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ADT TO ANYONE ANY MORE.

ADT SUCKS WHEN IT COMES TO REPLACING BATTERIES FOR 6 WEEKS.
ADT SUCKS WHEN ITS TO KEEPING APPOINTS AND ORDERING PARTS.

3RD TIME NOW.
WE ARE NOT IMPRESSED.

I have a business and contacted ADT for an alarm system, which I had for about a year and a half or so. I moved to a new location and called to have them relocate because I was in contract. The rep on the phone from ADT told me I was out of contract, once she told me that I decided that I no longer wanted to stay with ADT, mediocre customer service and slow response times to when an alarm went off is why I decided to not transfer it. The rep told me there would be a one month charge because I need to give a 30 day notice and after that I would be done. About three additional months I was charged, because I was on their automatic system to pay. I contacted customer support and told them about the issue of them still charging me, The rep then told me that I was not truly out of contract and that there would be a cancellation fee if I decided to cancel, very very very miss leading because now I decided to go with a different alarm company and I'm stuck with a company that has my alarm system in a warehouse that I no longer have, she told me I would have to pay the cancellation fee. I told her that was unacceptable and I wanted to speak to a manager, she didn't get the manager on the phone she put me on hold for about three or four minutes then came back on and said I've decided to waive the cancellation fee your balance is now zero. I didn't confirmed with her we are done, she said yes. This morning I wake up to another charge of service. Now keep in mind I just spoke to them yesterday because I saw a charge come out. She said I was now zero and yet they decided to take more money out. This is not right do not give them your card number they will continue to charge you over and over again even when they say your balance is zero!

I had been a CPI customer for years and decided to switch to ADT based on additional needs and information shared with me by others. However, starting with the misleading salesman, a rude and arrogant technician , and the horrible customer service I've experienced, I regret ever signing up with ADT and can't wait until I can return to CPI. They claimed to give me one free month, but actually didn't because today I got double billed and was told that was correct. Each time I called customer service, the different reps would provide inconsistant information and refuse to let me speak with a supervisor, claiming to take care of the problem.Isn't anyone at ADT corporate headquarters listening to the customers? ADT lack integrity, qualified staff, and poor service. I am 65 years old and never thought a national company would allow customers to be treated this way, especially to take advantage of senior citizens who live on a fixed income. ADT should be ashamed! CPI always provided excellent service, they just couldn't provide what I needed this year that caused me to switch.

This is the worst Company I have ever dealt with. I called ADT a month before my Contract expired to make sure it was understood that they do not have the authorization to renew my Contract. I fulfilled my obligation. 4 months later I am still receiving bills and phone calls. If they do not respond to my 2nd written request, I will file a legal complaint. So much of my time wasted on this nonsense.

We have a female older person I'll call * in our home to stay the night to rest and get out of her apartment in which the ADT alarm goes off at various times all through the day and night. This has been going on for several months, although they supposedly fixed it each time. I picked her up from the doctor's office where she went out of concern for heart problems and/or stress as a result of this. There seems to be two different companies involved: ADT and the installer. These two parties do not talk to one another apparently, or at least, their solutions are quite opposed to one another. She was trying to get resolution for some time, but to no avail. At one point yesterday, the company (perhaps the installer) told her to climb up (remember, this is an elderly person) and cut a wire. * asked if she would get electrocuted. Then the representative told her she probably shouldn't do that. Further, ADT told her that she has an older system. The newer system does not have that problem. They did not offer to change it to the newer system, as far as I understand. They do not want to remove the system or dismantle the system for fear of leaving a hole in the wall. When she asked to have to have it removed, they were going to charge her $25. We told her she should not be charged to remove a system that doesn't work properly. We are assisting her in contacting an attorney and the North Carolina Attorney General's Office. This just isn't right. By the way, she is an excellent historian.

I am sorry that I ever got an adt system the worst part is trying to get through to make a service appointment it has been horrible. the service was worse, especially [redacted] who was rude and stupid stay away I will be suing them

My fiance and I built a new home and just recently moved in. Our realtor provided ADT with our contact information. My fiance was skeptical about getting a security system thinking we didn't need one but when he was contacted he figured why not have the company come out, take a look, and give us a quote. He was told the system could be installed the same day if we chose to do so. He scheduled an appointment and was told he had to provide our credit card information. He didn't want to do that because we weren't for sure going to be having anything installed. The person assured him that the card would only get charged if we ended up installing at our appointment.

Appointment day came, it was set for 5:30pm. A representative was not to the house by 5:45 and without call or notification so we called them. We were told they wouldn't be there for at least another 40 minutes and he had the intention of installing the system that day. We told him we were only looking for a quote and to get an idea of the system and what we might like. We had prearranged plans to leave our house by 6:30 so we had to cancel the appointment and advised we'd reschedule for a different day.

Next day, we woke up to our credit card being charged a $100 installation fee and were told that our system was all set up. It was less than easy contacting the company and having this charge removed but it was eventually done. Because of this entire mishap with everything we will not be choosing ADT and I would honestly not recommend them which is disappointing because I still know nothing about their products or services.

1. The salesman came to my house on Thursday, April 28th to talk about the services and I ended up signing up for the "premier package". He then set my installation up for Friday the 29th and asked the earliest I could be home. I told him I could be home by 3:30 (which required me to leave work early) and he said someone would be there. Friday the 29th, they did not show up until 4:30 and did not leave until almost 8:00 p.m.
2. The installers did not finish and stated they would be back Saturday the 30th at 2:00 p.m., so I stayed home and waited. They did not show up till after 4:00 p.m. and didn't finish what they were doing until after 6:00 p.m. They STILL did not finish the installation. The alarm system was functional as far as setting the alarm, but we still did not have the camera, remote nor did they show us how to use the app on our phone. I was told they would be back Monday the 2nd to complete the programming and provide the missing pieces.
3. Monday the 2nd around 11:00 a.m. I got a call from someone asking if the installers could return that afternoon between 1-2 and I told them no because last time I took off work early, they showed up late and proceeded to tell them it had to be sometime after 4:30 p.m.. She then told me someone would be at my house tomorrow (Tuesday) the 3rd at 4:30. So, again, I was home waiting and no one showed up. Did not even receive a call that they could not make it.
4. When the sales rep signed me up for services, he said installation should take 1-2 hours because he has "good, knowledgeable techs". I was not expecting this to be a 3+ day process. Nor did he tell me they were going to sub out the installation to another security company. I was expecting professional techs that knew what they were doing. Not a couple guys that seemed to be learning the system as they went.
5. I was told I had to submit a cancellation letter to terminate the contract - which I did. Apparently my "wish to cancel" reached the original sales rep that went to my house and he reached out to me. He was very apologetic and urged me to stay with ADT, told me this was not typical and he would have a meeting with the other security company to get things straightened out and that he would have an ADT tech at my house Friday the 6th to have the system completed professionally. He kept saying that if I had anymore issues, to go straight to him, not corporate. I should of known better when he kept saying that. But, unfortunately I fell for his lies and decided to stay with ADT and complete the installation of my system.
6. Friday the 6th comes and the SAME installer from the other security company I had problems with was there, AGAIN! I then expressed my disappointment to the rep and his response was "I apologize, all my other techs are on installs. I've got an install that should be finishing up nearby and will try my best to get him out there to assist. I promise everything will be taken care of professionally". My question is why did you schedule me promising an ADT tech when you didnt even have one available? All the person needed to do was complete the programming of the system and install (plug in) a camera. He got to my house at 4:45 and did not leave till after 7. Again, he was on the phone most of the time trying to get instructions and directions on what to do. Oh, and the other tech the rep told me about never showed up - go figure.

I feel like he lied and suckered me in to stay with ADT knowing the same people would be there to install so I would be out of the 3 day cancellation policy and be stuck with this company for 3 years. Might I add, when I first signed up for the system, it was never mentioned that I was signing a 3 year contract. I can see why now! Shame on me for not reading the fine print better.

Even with the $100 gift cards for referrals, I would never recommend this company to anyone. I would in fact pay my family and friends the $100 to go somewhere else. A "1-2 hour" installation turned into 7 days! What put the icing on the cake was the sales rep audacity to lie to me about the final installation and not even care - as he knew I was already stuck. I just bought a new house, which is when the rep came over, and the "home buying process" went SO MUCH easier and smoother than getting a security system. My job office uses ADT also and my Office Manager warned me about issues she has had with them. I should of listened and will recommend a new security company be installed once the contract is over. Liars and deceitful people do not deserve my, or anyone else's business.

Since upgrading my system to have the camera, then the pulse app, there's been many problems. It continuously shows that the camera above the garage isn't active. I've called many times and the problem there is that I'm always on hold a minimum of 30 minutes. I've now been on hold for 45 minutes. This is absurd. I made an appointment for someone to come check things and they can't come for 6 days. In the meantime, my only exterior camera, the garage camera, often shows nothing. This means someone could come when I'm not here or during the evening and night hours and I wouldn't know. I bought this system to have me feel comfortable and that's what they said it would do. I'd give it a grade of "F" (failure) right now. I know why they make you sign a contract. It's because many of the customers, me especially, would cancel and go elsewhere. If I could get out of this darn contract, I'd do it in the next second. That's how unhappy I am with ADT.

I had adt for 3 yrs & stayed with the contract to the end.Great service, shame on people who don't read the fine print.Your stupid.
