I have been satisfied with my service, however, response time when an alarm goes off is lacking! My daughter was visiting and had the alarm in "instant" mode while sleeping. When I came home fromwork early one morning, she didn't disarm it timely so the alarm went off and I attempted to disarm it with the key FOB while my daughter put in the code. ADT took approx 10 minutes to call back to see if everything was OK! This is unacceptable! If it were a true emergency my daughter or I could have been robbed or killed!

we have been a customer for 11yrs.
our expereince with adt is awfull.wait time for service is unacceptable and the people who answer the phone have no clue on how it is not to have an alarm.
called them several times and was always put on hold for more than 30 mins till I hanged up.
I tried to schedule an appointment for a technician but was told the next available tech will be atleast 24 days later!!!!
the technician I got in touch with are useless!!!!

I would not recommend using this company. The customer service is absolutely horrible. And calling corporate to make a complaint gets you no where and is a joke. I had an appointment for an add on and the person never showed up. They suck period. Oh also they charged me twice and refused to refund. They keep giving me the run around. What kind of people are running this company and hire people who are allowed to disrespect customers? Run don't walk.

The service was adequate. Fortunately, we have needed their help. However, their efforts to force an Early Termination Fee is unacceptable. I would not and will not do business with them again. Use their services at your own risk.

My mother has had this service for over 2 years. She never took the necklace button off when home. The sense of safety was false. She fell, preessed the button git a voice response from ADT When nobody was sent: She tried again and received the intercom response. No one was didpatched. A neighbor who heard her screams didnt call 911 because he heard the talking. He eventually called 911 himself when he continues to hear screams. Not only did ADT fail to respond if she had not had their voices onthe intercom she would have gotten help sooner. She almost died. ADT was heard respond on the intercom by more than just my mother, but they chose to do nothing.

This is additional info regarding a complaint I send in last evening on ADT. The contract was signed 2/3 of the way down the first page then section 2 and 3 are filled in by the salesperson. I was told the fee was month to month. He set it up quarterly through my credit card which was incorrect. When I moved from FL to NC I called ADT and was told the cancellation fee would be $1,000 so I continued to pay it even though the alarm was inactive. Late June I was contacted by the people who live in the FL house about a bill from ADT to me. I had them send it to me. At that time I called ADT and was able to cancel the contract. I explained I had lived in FL for 1 1/2 years and did not need the service here in NC. I asked if I needed to do anything else and was told NO. There was no mention of cancellation fees or asking for my current address for mailing purposes. I was contacted again from FL and they mailed me 3 things from ADT - 2 billings and a letter asking me to retain their services. I contacted ADT last night to get this settled and was told my account had been sent out to a collection agency, a new experience in my 73 years. Needless to say I become extremely upset. The rep finally consulted his supervisor and came back with "COMPANY POLICY" excuse. In my work company policy was NEVER used as a reason. This whole thing could have been avoided with one simple question - what is your current address? - and a little consideration on the part of their billing department. Also it would have been really nice to have known there was a cancellation fee. I will not recommend this company to anyone, even my worst enemy.

ADT is the WORST. DO NOT USE. Their cold temp sensor failed and the pipes froze. And when we called ADT to come figure out what went wrong the soonest they would come was in 48 hours. In other words the house has no alarm , which they tell us is all so important , for 2 days and that is ok with ADT. Oh , but they did say if I was willing to pay overtime rates they could get someone their sooner! CALL ANYONE BUT ADT!!!

This company lies and had me enter into a contract without the knowledge. This is considered senior abuse, this is a property that my elderly parents live in and now are moving into a retirment home and I can not cancel the services without paying over $1100. your company is horrible. Do not deal with ADT they are a fraudlent company

I scheduled an appointment for a consultation ad was told the person would arrive at my house in the evening. I even got on their chat and asked again (to make sure) that the person was coming. The time came around and NO ONE showed up. I hopped on the chat (AGAIN) and this time they told me that it does not even show up that I had an appointment! Fine. I re-scheduled. I then receive a call from the PUSHIEST and most RUDE salesmen ever. I told him what happened and he didnt even do me the courtesy of apologizing. Instead he told me he could schedule my installation for the next day! I havent even had the consultation and this guy wanted to install! I ended up cancelling the appointment I had re-scheduled because I just thought, imagine, Im not even a customer yet and they are treating me like garbage! They dont deserve my business. Today rolled around and I receive a text from the barbaric salesman, saying he would be showing up at the house soon. I told him I had canceled earlier and again his company dropped the ball. He then texted me back that I had his personal number and that I chose not to call him and told me not to blame the company. LOL What a tool. He then tells me "I gave you the option to reschedule, dont act like I gave you no options". AVOID ADT. They are terrible terrible terrible at customer service!!!

Please people, do you due diligence before signing any contract with the ADT name on it. I say this for many reasons. 1. the chances are your contract is with a dealer not ADT. This means ADT can and does disavow any responsibility for your system. 2. The installation is way expensive, mine ended up costing over $1600.00. They do not tell you what options could and would have lowered the cost substantially 3. Your contract is with a third party although you send checks and have phone numbers for ADT. My local dealer is in Missouri, I live in Arizona! Figure that out. 4. You can not get out of the contract with out paying a 75% penalty. This applies even if ADT does not fulfill their part of the deal. 5. In the first two weeks we had two false alarms for intruders. We were away so I had to deal with ADT direct on phone. They said they could not disarm the system remotely! What the heck good is this . They say we have to be in the house and disarm it ourselves. That makes system only good is you are home. Don't arm it when away. We disconnected the entry alarm system after two weeks and do not use it. We used the fire alarm system. Guess what, numerous false alarms , one while we were here and at least two when away. Again, no remote disarm, Woke the entire neighbor hood up twice. Had neighbor get into house and pull central alarm box off wall and pull all wires and batteries out. Get this, ADT says we have a air conditioning system and they tend to set off the alarms. They have a alarm system that can not operate in an air conditioned house!! Good luck in all but Nome AK. 5. The only way they will break contract is to take them to court for breach of contract. After the first year of three you have only about $1000.00 left so they know you will not go after them.

HJow many people out there have been stuck with an ADT useless service? I wish someone who knows how would start a petition or something. I am filing every place I can find my ADT story

YOU ARE BUYING A CONTRACT, not a security system!!!! After paying $2087 for a system, $1533 installation and 3+ years of $60/month, they shut down my system when I cancelled my monitoring.

A security system should operate independent from the monitoring service! I bought a security system and had it installed at a cost of $3600, I OWN the system! But without monitoring, They hijack your entire system and render it unusable.

NOTWITHSTANDING the system has only worked about 60% of the time, I've had a camera that has only worked for a couple of months with one issue after another. SERVICE does NOT exist with this company. My system was not even functional for 3 months after install and when I asked for refund on monitoring I was told that the monitoring function was working and therefore I had to pay!!!! AURGH!!!!

I am a long standing customer of ADT. When I had an outage due to the failure of their equipment I called for a technician to come to the house. I was told it would be 6 days before one could get here. This is simply unacceptable and terrible customer service. Everyone should know this.

Well I guess the reviews say it all! Customer service has really degraded over the years now and ADT goes along with that. There customer support team is very rude and not very helpful. I have been with ADT since 1992 and never really needed to call them for anything until earlier this month when my alarm panel started having a communication problem, so I called them up and the lady was rude and treated me as if I was sm. We hung up a week later they came out and then I get a charge on my account for $155 installation charge! There was no installation and the guy was here for 5 minutes maximum. I was never told that I was going to owe anything, If your going to charge your customers outrages charges like this one you should certainly make them aware of it before hand and not have them just wait for a bill in the mail. I called ADT Monday morning and again they were extremely rude and did not humanize the conversation at all. After being a customer for 23 years I nicely explained to them that I was unaware of these charges and that I simply couldn't afford them. She didn't care and I explained that I was going to have to shut my account off and even with that she didn't even care. What happen to wanting to valuing your customers? We hung up and called right back to reach another customer service rep that was rude the exact same way! I couldn't believe it. I've given these guys over $10,000 over the years and I still have to pay the charges as well so DON'T give these shyster disrespectful thief's your money!!!

After a scare at home, I decided I needed a security system. One of the several companies I reviewed was ADT. Their phone staff was very attentive to meeting my needs and offered a very generous package at an excellent price. In the end I went with a DIY company because I move a lot and it was easier for me to install the components myself. However, I wanted to thank ADT for their work and understanding during my research. Even though I did not go with them they offered, by far, the best value to price ratio. Their staff didn't hassle me at all when I called back with my final decision and I really appreciated that. I recommend ADT to anyone that's interested in a excellent security system at a good price.

I have had ADT Security Since Jan 12 ,2016 I Cant Be more happier with the alarm company they have always been there when I have wanted to change systems or add stuff to my alarm system and they have a great monitoring service they call you soon as the alarm system goes off love it

MULTIPLE false alarms, and now I have been on hold (still waiting) for 35 minutes!!!

this is not a genuine company I am in the process of moving to another state, when I decided to cancel my account the Drama began, first very very unprofessional costumer service they keep transferring me to different agents, finally one of them said that I have 3 years contract which is not true, and that I have to pay 75 % of the remaining balance as cancellation fee. my advise to everyone who's looking for security business PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ADT

I've been an ADT customer for the last 3 years. My Pulse system quit communicating with dispatch. I called to report the problem, had to wait a week with no functioning service for your first available appointment. You were supposed to be here between 2-4PM today, I called at 3:30, dispatch said he was coming, I called at 4:30 and they said he wouldn't be able to make it and would I like to reschedule? NO. I would not, I took off work to be available and the only way I find out that you're flaking is when I call you to ask why you're not at your appointment.

I tell the operator I want to cancel service and they won't let me cancel... they ask for a password * created 3 years ago when I set the account up... of course I don't remember it. Then they ask for the emergency contact names & numbers. Again, I set this up years ago so I don't remember, we go through everyone I can think of, mom, dad, mother in law, grandparents... no dice. Finally I ask is it me? The [redacted] on the end of the line goes "what's your name?" as if I hadn't given it 3 times already during the call authentication process, so I have to recite my own name, and the number I'm calling from to be allowed to cancel service. I'm literally dumbfounded by this guys attitude. I'm like "why didn't you tell me I was the contact? I've been rattling off the name of everyone I know" He goes "you should have guessed"

So I cancel, and then he starts offering me $250 credits for equipment upgrades, reducing my monthly bill from $51 to $39. I tell him no thanks, we're done here. Just so you know, there is no amount of money you could offer me to come back to this craptastic company. You guys wasted my afternoon and didn't even have the decency to apologize for missing the appointment, or call to let me know you couldn't make it. What exactly is it that you're doing to earn my $500/yr in annual monitoring?

the letter announcing the coming of pulse was the first upgrade from ADT since we signed up with them six years ago. Today's visit from tech was enlightening, this is nothing but a scam to sell new equipment for over 500.00!!!!
needless to say I declined and forced the tech to replace mobile phone as promised in the propaganda...he did so rather ungracefully.

After cancelling my service and letting them know I had not lived at the address where I had been paying for their services for 1 1/2 years after moving to another state I was not told that I would have to pay a cancellation fee or asked for my current address. They sent two bills and a letter to the old address. Calling ADT after the people now living in the houses mailed the bills to me I was informed that my account had been sent to a collection agency. Now the remarkable part - the collection agency had absolutely no trouble locating my current address and sending me the final billing. Their billing department doesn't try to help the customer at all. In the words of my grandchildren they suck!!! It seems to me that they could have told me there was a fee involved and asked me for my current address. The collection agency certainly found me. I was not hiding from anyone. My experience with this company from the sales person and the 6 page contract to their billing department has been stressful and upsetting. I WILL NOT recommend this company to anyone. Avoid them at all costs.
