This is certainly an unfortunate complaint and by far the most serious one of the three our company has receivedI must start off by admitting my state of confusion, particularly in concert with the following line; John T*** (supposedly the owner of the company) was my contact
point. There is only one owner of this company and that is the same person writing this response, Matthew G***Allow me to add context to this situation before I explain A) my theory as to why this customer is so frustrated and B) how Allegiant will rectify the situation. Auto Transport is a very niche market with many businesses (all of whom are considered small by any business metrics and we are all fighting for survival, chasing the same customer which I've heard figures as little as 100,customers per month) Allegiant focuses on consumer shipments, customers buying, selling, or relocating vehiclesWe operate off of a website called *** which can be compared to ***, but with a focus on shipping/transportation/freight marketsAllegiant does indeed operate off *** and generates nearly 50% of our revenue through this website, but what's important is *** payout policyAllegiant does NOT accept credit cards from uShip customersI'm concerned that this customer may have experienced a difficult shipment due to the simple fact that Kent is clever and he may have hired multiple broker businesses simultaneously to connect him to a driverThis is, unfortunately, common in our industry However this is counterproductive90% of our industry, if not more, network off of a single websiteBrokers, dealers, and carriers all find each other through one website and when carriers see one customer working with multiple companies simultaneously this creates a problematic outcomeCarriers increase rates on demand, without warningCarriers will commit, but remain fickle and seek other customersThey do this because they fear the customer's vehicle, in our case Kent, may go with a competing carrier and the driver will have lost out on the job plus waste money on gas This is relevant to our shipment because a lot of the customer's facts as far as customer support seem extremely convoluted and it bares striking resemblance to customers we deal with on a weekly basis who do exactly that; hire multiple broker companies simultaneouslyWe try hard to win a customer and we try hard to bend to their will, but we are faced with unreasonable customer demands, a feirce competitive landscape, and finally a fragmented trucking industryWe try our best to align everything in order to satisfy the customer, offer a true end to end service, yet as we have learned in this case, we are not always successful. My second point I would like to address is the charge of this customers credit cardWe assign an employee to confirm deposits have been collected and transactions are completeAs the complaint says, most of these terms were expressed over the phone, we misread the order form and the terms of this particular agreementWe had an order form which stated the agreed tariff was $This is what our employee saw when they made the $charge of the depositHowever, there is no contract to back this up, therefore we refunded the customer $I personally sent an email to apologize for the disruptive experience and Allegiant refunded the customer $This is an irregular situation and I will personally see to it that we never make this mistake again Thanks you! When I Spoke with the business they stated that after the delivery is more than days late that $dollars is taken off the shipment cost and the car was days late it arrived on the *** of march and the original date was the *** of marchthe *** of march marked the 10th day that it was late and that was when the $dollars off was started that I was told so counting from the *** it should have been $off the total $but I still had to pay the full priceafter I was told I wouldn't have to

I asked for my car to be shipped before Sunday march the *** and they never gave me a solution for thatI stopped their service once they told me they couldn't deliver a services There was never a reason for me to "change my mind multiple times" as they saySo that's a complete lie. The money they charged me ($259.99) was a mistake committed by them, as I was charged days before the stipulated pickup date No service was EVER provided! Ever! [our Answer Here] I hired Allegiance to haul a ford truck from Oregon to ohio , Allegiance then brokered the job to *** *** *** picked up the truck from who I purchased it from, Goeff P***s.*** *** hauled the truck on a single truck or a single trailer to his storage yard, then told me he could not haul it any furtherI then called Allegiance to see why not, allegiance , Tony, Dispatch, said he would work on itEventually ,*** *** said they could haul itThe driver for *** ***, Rob, said he had no trouble with it, But that Victor would not release the truck to Rob unless he got money for hauling it , The $that is in questionMy truck was basically held in impound, rob The driverhad a schedule to follow.So basically I in no way shape or form hired *** ***Allegiance auto did, therefoe they are liable for the $My contact was with Allegiance transport not *** ***Once again Rob from *** *** had no trouble with any weight matters or lenghth matters, he knew how to load it properly on a multicar hauler and that's how I received itRob & myselfwe had the truck unloaded within minutes with no trouble or complication. First and foremost, *** *** was a gentleman and a wonderful customer from start to finishWe advised *** ***, the customer, as we advise all our customers, how important it is to be 100% honest and accurate with the size and weight of vehiclesDimensions are crucial and pivotal to the
transport processThe customer's vehicle was much larger than described and the carrier arrived to the pick up location only to discover the vehicle's size and condition may put the carrier at riskThe carrier must comply with DOT/FMCSA weight regulations and the customer's vehicle was pushing these limitsThe carrier requested the additional $due to the weight of the vehicleThe customer warned Allegiant about this issue and we strongly advised *** *** to not pay this carrier his requested fee** *** went against our adviseThis is certainly an unfortunate situationOur position is simpleWe price our customers based on the details they provideMistakes to occur from time to time and that is fine, this is a natural part of our business, but when *** *** gave permission to the carrier to pick up his vehicle, he signed off on the price adjustment with the carrier and signed the BOLAt this point Allegiant's powers are limited and our advice overlooked. Please consider all of the comments we are makingWe take our roles in the shipment process very serious and we want nothing but the best for our customers.

The $fee should not have been charged, which means that what I need and should receive is a Refund of the $299, not a $shipping credit. Even if I wanted to ship another car (which I don't), I have no interest in shipping any vehicle in the future with Allegiant. multiple car carriers to pick up the vehicleAlso, the customer modified the shipping details multiple times without warning, which caused delays and disruption and prolonged the pick up processIn fact, Allegiant has successfully shipped vehicles for this customer in the pastIt's unfortunate, but this rating inaccurately reflects the way our company treats our customers and conducts our operationsThe justification for a cancellation fee is the cost applied by Allegiant and our carrier exhausting resources for the sake of serving *** or any customer at that matterNo different than a hotel or flight accommodation our company does assess a cancellation fee if the customer cancels with no warning and within a designated time frameOur policies are set according to the industry standards and there is nothing unique or original about our policiesAgain, just as if one booked a hotel room at a hotel or airplane ticket, then cancelled on the day of the booking, there will be a feeWe also offered this customer a credit in the value of our cancellation fee to highlight our integrity, meanwhile Allegiant is still responsible to reimburse our carrier for their lossNonetheless, Allegiant was willing to take this loss in order to satisfy this repeat customerIt's unfortunate *** is displaying such rigor and passion to inaccurately highlight our company on the internet, but we strongly believe most customers understand the transparency of the internet and the overwhelming positive reviews our Allegiant has receivedTo all of our future customers, we appreciate ***s feedback and we will do everything we can to improve our service for youPlease notice the 500+ positive reviews our company has received within a two year window and please don't let one loud voice create any negative influence on your decision making process.

The company states the charges are justified with informationFirst of all, I changed no information from what I had originally told them until THEY suggested I move the pickup point to a more urban location to expedite a carrier accepting the transport because I needed the vehicle picked up ASAPI agreed to accept delivery at a location minutes from where I originally wanted at THEIR request for driver convenience and they did not adjust the priceAs for dispatching multiple carriers, none of them would accept the transport and therefore did not get paid so there would be no expense to the companyI stand by the fact I received no service and was charged $for nothingIn their response they compare the fee to a cancelation fee at a hotel or something but the difference is, you are told up front from a hotel that if you cancel within a certain time frame you will be charged because there is no time to resell the room but in this case, they are out nothing from the cancellationLastly, my biggest issue is the sneaky dishonest tactics that were used to get me to list with them obviously knowing that the final outcome would be increased costs and time from what was told to move the vehicle and if you try and use alternative means because you are on to what they are doing, they are going to charge you an arbitrary fee for doing nothingThe ironic part of this is their "salesman"(scammer) told me I should never have to pay a fee if nothing was transported when he got to switch with them and told me Allegiant would never charge anyone if they didn't get the vehicle shippedWhat a bunch of bull%$@# and unfortunately I believed himAt least the company he told me was a scam refunded my money when they didn't ship my vehicle and I cancelled with themI would say this makes Allegiant a bigger scam company than the one they told me wasIt is too bad as I did ship a vehicle through them once without issueLuckily a carrier picked up the vehicle for the original price I was quotedIf they had simply refunded my money or not charged me originally for doing nothing, I wouldn't have been happy but would not feel the need to make others aware of their promises and misrepresentationHopefully this keeps others from falling prey to this scam and prevents others from losing their hard earned money

First of all, the attachment was blank. In addition, the refund and cancellation policy does not clearly cover situations like mineSection C clearly states all
cancellations have to be requested “in writing via email sent to *** Allegiant
does not accept or honor cancellations made via phone callThe subject line of
the e-mail must read “Cancellation” otherwise Allegiant cannot honor the
cancellation.” There is no e-mail where I cancelled my shipment. Finally, section E further asserts, "If a Customer decides to cancel the shipping order after a Carrier has been assigned, $or deposit, whichever is greater, will be assessed..."Again, I DID NOT cancel my orderIn Joyce's response to me she claims that I cancelled my orderI challenge anyone in the business to find a correspondence where I asked for services not to be renderedThis is not a matter for an insurance company to settle, it's a matter of poor customer service.

Unfortunately this story is inaccurate and unwarrantedAccording to our carrier (
rgb(51, 51, 51); margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Name:My Car Auto Transport Inc Contact: Alex and Claudia Phone: ###-###-####) the customer's remarks are falseAllegiant has received NO evidence suggesting this event is true what so ever and the carrier was involved. Allegiant works very hard to maintain a healthy relationship with customers AND carriers and we find this review upsetting, especially if there's reason for doubt this ever occurred due to behavior committed by our carrier partnerRachel has made many complaints and suggested our company reimburse her for the entire shipment cost, meanwhile our agents worked very hard to secure her a carrier and resolve this matter with the carrierSome customers are clever enough to make claims assuming they will receive a full refundThe fact of the matter is our small business cannot submit to the will of a customer's statementA full reimbursement would be unjustified and irrelevent.
IF this event did indeed occur, we strongly suggest calling the police.This is a matter for the police not Allegiant and we fully support that moveIt would be highly inappropriate for Allegiant to reimburse the customer or make any accusations in regards the carrier's performanceFurthermore, what reason does the carrier have to do what the customer is suggesting? What value is there for the carrier if these accusations are true? What does the carrier gain? This entire situation is unfathomable and unbelievableHowever we will do whatever we must to help Rachel with this situationWe will stop at nothing to support our customers, win their respect, and treat them with the same level of respect we kindly ask from our carriers and customers.
