My husband and I have had AHS for the past years and the majority of our service calls have been about our air conditioning unit and now years later and several trade service fees they have finally found the leakWe now have to pay $for the freon and because we are out of the recall period they will do nothing for usI guess it's ok for their service providers to take over a month to fix our unit (which is half way through the recall period) but it's not ok for us to be out of the recall periodI will be canceling our contract the minute I canThey are a horrible company that places zero value on their customers

I purchased my home in march of 2014, and a home warranty service through American Home Shield shortly afterI have been through claims since then, both for things that were seemingly covered; both of them were declined for reasons that seemed ridiculous to meEvery person that I have communicated with in this company was very rude, and not at all willing to work with me on the matterI would suggest you look the other way if you intend to use AHS as your home warranty company

Don't waste your money at closing ask for cash instead! AHS included in closing agreementweek into a new home microwave quits workingI call for service (knowing I still have to pay $out of pocket) their first available appointment was a month and a half later That means no use of that "covered" appliance for nearly months That is not what I call being covered Had a similar experience with my previous home, and the same companyThe "insurance" was included in the negotiated selling price A month later had them come out to service my air conditioner paid the "service fee" got no service said it was not properly maintained and was my faultI JUST MOVED IN This company has no intention of making any repairs they just take your money giving you a sense of security DON'T FALL FOR ITKeep your money

Been with this company for years and need a new fridgeHad it fixed times and cost $each timeIt's yrs oldAlso my dishwasher is yrs old fixed it twiceThey would not replace either oneThey were rude so I canceled and signed up with [redacted] Just a shame after years

AHS is horrible! To get a customer service rep, the wait time will typically run from 30-45+ minutes to speak with a live person For a service company, this wait is unacceptable! Then, the AHS "system" assigns contractors and once assigned, they will NOT change contractors for any reason We were assigned a provider who is KNOWN for TERRIBLE service in our area(They changed their name due to their bad reputation!) When we asked for a different assignment (before ever being contact by the 1st company) we were told AHS "policy" prohibits contractors changes for any reason - unless they don't show up When escalated to Brian in Customer Service in TX, his response was, "well, you should give everyone a fair chance and not pay attention to online reviews because people lie." REALLY???? Multiple negative online reviews are lies? This is no lie - do NOT waste your money on AHS - they don't care about the service you receive - and they train their employees the to think the same!

If you want Customer Service, do not choose this warranty company I have kept warranty coverage with this company for twenty-one yearsI regret I didn't opt out of the coverage I have had two customer complaints over the years and both were handled unprofessionally and without a desire to keep my business American Home Warranty does not care about customer satisfaction, they are concerned about their bottom line They didn't want to know or have any concern when I told them about a problem I had with the service technician who came to repair my air conditioner American Home Warranty management said that it was just my opinion and people have lots of different opinions In other words, they don't keep track of problems, they just move on to the next customer who will give them their monthly fee Please don't support a company who doesn't care about your customer satisfaction Dallas, Texas

Very Poor Company Not Recommended Signed up for AHS through W [redacted] F [redacted] Mortgage The oven would not heat up Called AHS Long wait times on phone They sent request to local Phoenix company After two day wait the company called to say they didn't service the brand (Decor) but they would pass the request back to AHS and they would call Didn't hear back so on second day called AHS gave me name of local company Didn't hear back Second day called Local company (Arizona Value Appliance) Appointment days later for between and Arrived at 3: Said fixed, no change Called Local company again to report no change Referred back to AHS to start over because "ticket had been closed" Only possible value in AHS is a major system replacement

American Home Shield is the WORST home warranty company in their field! I have had a broken washing machine for almost a month Now, technicians later, they are telling me that I need a second opinion after the last technician said my washing machine was not repairableTheir customer service stinks! I have been left on hold for very long periods of time and hung up on several times I don't recommend this company to anyone STAY AWAY and SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Do NOT deal with this company!!! I paid for the service for yearsWhen I finally needed the repair, after submitting the service request, I got a phone call saying that another company will call meHowever, no one contacted meWe went without heater for daysI finally paid someone else to get my heater fixI just called them to cancel the warrantyThey said someone from the cancellation department will call me within hoursAGAIN, AVOID THEM!!!

BAD COMPANY I CANCELLED MY CONTRACT AFTER ONE MONTH WHEN THEY STOOD BY A CONTRACTOR long-lane AFTER I SHOWED THEM HE WAS CLAIMING MODIFICATIONS TO MY WATER HEATER AFTER I CHECKED HIS CLAIMS OF MANDATORY INSTALLATIONS OUT WITH FEDERAL STATUTES STATE COUNTY AND TOWNSHIP NO SUCH MANDATORY MODIFICATIONS EXISTEDthey WOULD NOT REPLACE WATER HEATER BECAUSE THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR CONTRACTOR Was overstating requirements Not only that but they never offered to reimburse me for the $deductible in view of the misrepresentations of their contractor

I will be cancelling my AHS warranty and finding a better company to go withI have an issue with my refrigerator shelves falling out of the door whenever it's openedThe door frame is bowed outI read the contract and wasn't sure if it's covered or not (as I'm not an expert in these things), so I called the company and described the issue we are having to the associateShe told me it was covered under my warrantyWhen the repair guy got here today & looked at it, he discovered that the part that needs to be replaced is no longer availableHe called AHS to tell them that the part couldn't be ordered and they informed him that it wasn't coveredI got on the phone with her and told her that I didn't think it was fair that I pay the fee because I was given the wrong informationWhen I handed the phone back to the repair guy, she told him that I was refusing to pay (which isn't true & he heard what I said to her)Later I called the company and spoke to a supervisor who informed me that because it is written in my contract that I will be paying the feeI would have no problem paying the fee if I hadn't been given the wrong information by their employees

If you are approached by AHSRUN as soon as you canI like to state facts, so I will keep this one simple FACT 1: Dishwasher leaking and request placed online 3/21/ FACT 2: Technician from [redacted] arrives, turns on nozzleStates nothing was wrong with the dishwasher FACT 3: Ran the dishwasher on 3/27/leak turns into a flood FACT 4: Placed another request over the phone 3/27/I was told that a technician would not arrive until the follow week FACT 5: On 3/28/kitchen is completely flooded - Service request ticket now placed in "escalation" status by AHS FACT 6: Technician #from different vendor arrives 3/29/says cost to repair to high, and the dishwasher should be replaced FACT 7: Technician #turn nozzle on to dishwasher, cabinet and kitchen flooded again FACT 8: Called American Home Shield 3/31/they have not received any information from the technician FACT 9: On 4/1/given another number from AHS to call to order a new dishwasherWas told while I was at work that MUST be home to provide them with the dimensions of the old dishwasher before they could order the new dishwasher They stated that they could not use the dimension provided by the [redacted] technician or the second vendor they sent out FACT 10: Measured dishwasher, and was told my dimensions were incorrectMy dimensions were sent to another department and someone would call me back at a late time FACT 11: Received a 4/4/from a [redacted] technician #that said he fixed my dishwasher LOL!!!!!!!! FACT 12: Received a call from technician #on 4/4/stating that they had a replacement but could not give me a date or time for the install FACT 13: After several emails, several phone calls, and several days missed of workmy dishwasher was finally installed on 4//5/ These are the steps AHS uses to repair your appliancesIf you choose this company BEWARE!!! You will lose time from work, forced to make multiple phone calls, and send many emails before your issue is resolvedI have cancelled my contract after one month of using this company, and switched to another companyLike the saying goes"Cheaper is not always better."

It is amazing to me that the level of customer service is so wanting, that it leaves one wondering whether there are policies/procedures in effect to promote attrition on the part of AHS customers Try this experiment, it works for me After being put on hold for over minutes hang up Block your phone ID, and call back, and surprise someone picks up within rings Coincidence???\r\n\r\nI live in Texas, and had my air conditioning go out last August I called AHS The serviceman came out, and stated that it was a leaky evaporator He also said that there would be extraneous charges in order to bring the unit up to code I brought in two other AC people, and was told that the company ( [redacted] ) was padding the bill $for a hanging kit, $for a drain ( 3/4\" PVC) I called AHS, and informed them that their contractor was not on the level I was told that I could have the work done by a contractor of my choice, and that they would cover the needed part, but the labor would be negotiated I submitted the bill in September I heard nothing back.\r\nI finally got an email address....it didn\'t work After getting another email address, I sent the invoice, information in This week, after nearly months, I get a check for approximately 10% of the bill The AHS check was made out for approximately 25% of the cost of the evaporator alone, and did not consider the other parts (e.gplenum, refrigerant) I ran into a scripted response from AHS When asked to speak with someone with higher authority, the calls do not go through to a person I leave messages, and do not get a response \r\nI would advise people out there to think twice.\r\nThis last month, a refrigerator in the house quit working We again called AHS They sent a technician who told us that the problem was a faulty relay, and that it would have to be ordered This was fine The next day we get a call from AHS stating that since the refrigerator is in the laundry room it isn\'t covered, and we would pay the full rate My wife was then told over the phone that it was not a relay, but the compressor, and the charge would now be increased by $ I asked to speak to the technician, and received a prompt call back I asked him why the story had changed, and now a new compressor was required I was told that it was prudent to get a new compressor, and that it would be a gamble to just change the relay I took this gamble, and for $dollars had the relay installed The refrigerator started up, and within hours was cold, and working perfectly I do not trust these people They do not appear to be dealing square with us.\r\n\r\nI am not going to give up on the air conditioner until I am satisfied, and have a feeling that this will require much effort

I have had a very bad experience with American Home Shield for the last yearsIt is very hard to reach them when there is an issue that needs to be resolvedThe latest service request to fix my house heater did not get addressed for weeks, and we had to stay in cold temperature during this time Now I am trying to cancel my request, and cancelling is also becoming an ordeal, staying over the phone over minutes before hanging up the phone as no one picks up the phone

I sold my rental property yesterday and called to cancel my home warranty policy with American Home Shield this morningI was informed that there are days remaining on the policy and that cancellation would result in me paying an admn fee of $and a service charge of $that leaves me a premium refund of centsIronically, had I waited one more day to cancel, I would have owed them money out of pocket to cancelI have no problem with a reasonable administrative fee for the transaction, but to withhold $of paid premiums under the guise of a service fee is nothing short of highway robberyI also will be sharing this experience with my numerous investors friends

This service is very disappointing It feels as though your paying only for a mirage of safety The company does not have customer care as a business value In my experience their main tactic is to delay delay delay until the customer no longer can do without and pays someone else for the repair Meanwhile we keep paying monthly Beware As a short synopsis; I called in a service request Plumber came out but refused to service the request I made a next available appointment which was days away I cancelled the request due to the long waiting period - almost a week of standing water - and called a plumber who I paid of course Then I get a bill from AHS for $for their plumber who did nothing! I requested AHS revisit the billing action since nothing was done and it was the serviceman who determined that nothing could be done That was not my choice I also suggested AHS consider asking a very simple question during the original service request: If it's a request involving a clogged drain, you might ask if there were chemicals used If so you need not send service personnel (This was the excuse used to refuse service.) The act of sending a service person without the due diligence of determining if your own constraints (draino) prohibit performing services creates a clear lack of responsibility on your part You are in control of your business The same applies to your plumbing contractors since they know about both drain clogs and AHS policy I spoke with AHS who didn't ask this question and I spoke with rightaway plumbing who also didn't ask One might ask what the motivation is for sending service personnel into such an obvious situation where services cannot be performed Please acknowledge in writing If you would be so kind, please don't expect me to call you and sit on hold for long periods of time

This is the first time I have had to use my American Home Shield warrantyMy dishwasher is broken and I filed a service request this morning via the websiteI was assigned S [redacted] Appliance Company in Virginia Beach, Virginia as my repair servicerThey called within an hour and I thought this might be a really good experienceI was wrong! the receptionist was rude and dismissiveShe offered only service calls in 5-hour blocks on weekdays with no call ahead provisionFor those of us that work regular hours, am - pm is a terrible optionShe would not even commit to an hour lead timeShe stated, "he doesn't do lead timesIf you can't do these times then you'll have to call American Home Shield and tell them." So, that's what I didThe lady from AHS said some contractors offer lead times and others don'tShe called S***'s Appliance then came back on the line and said that they wouldn't do lead times but that she had offered me alternative dates....and she did, all weekdays with a 5-hour window in the middle of the day! I requested a change of service contractor and she said they couldn't do thatSo I said I want to cancel my contractShe said okay and transferred me to another departmentA man answered and I explained the whole situation to him then said that's why I want to cancel my contractHe asked if I would change my mind if he could assign a different contractorAbsolutely notFirst, I don't think giving someone a 1-hour lead time call in the middle of a workday is too much to ask of a service companySecond, when I asked about changing the contractor the AHS rep could have said that she didn't have the authority to assign a new contractor but she could transfer me to someone that possibly could.....she didn'tThird, when I asked to cancel my contract there was no hesitation, as if she could care less whether I was a customer or notAnd finally, AHS takes my payments on time and are happy to do so, but I have to threaten to cancel my warranty before someone offers a solution to my problem? No! Not acceptableI do not want to, nor should I have to, complain or threaten to cancel my contract to have a reasonable accommodation madePOOR CUSTOMER SERVICECustomers should be treated better

I requested service on my dishwasher on 4-5-I was contacted by the Contractor: [redacted] (***) [redacted] (Reference #: [redacted] )An appointment was set up on 4-14-and the issue was discovered by the technicianThe Technician stated he needed a part to be ordered but AHS would have to approve it firstI did not receive any confirmation from [redacted] or AHS on my order status for several weeks, so I called [redacted] on 5-4-to check the statusI was advised by [redacted] appliance the part was ordered but hasn't come in yet, this would be the first time I am aware the part was approved to be ordered by A.H.S As of 5-11-my dishwasher is still broken neither [redacted] or AHS has contacted me to advise me if the parts are in or not AHS has willingly accepted my monthly payments and I held up my end of the deal paying on timeAt this point I feel I am receiving poor service at bestDoes it really take over a month to fix a dishwasher?

Sent out a D rated plumber by the Revdex.com who only took pictures and AHS denied claim stating softner was exposed to weather - tech didn.t notice I had removed cabinet so he could take "pictures" Would not recommend AHS - first claim in year for an item not costing more than $

Do NOT contract with American Home ShieldThis company contracts with low grade vendors that do not provide good serviceI've had problems with pool companies and Plumbers supposedly on "Emergency calls" that do not even call within hoursAfter waiting on hold for minutes with AHS you will get customer service that is rude and people that clearly do not want to take the time to give clear explanations of their own company protocolsClearly AHS doesn't really care if your issue is resolved by the low grade vendors they contract with to "help" you with your home problems
