complaints filed against our company. I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms*** for any confusion regarding her membership All of our memberships do default to an automatic renewalOur auto renewal program was implemented as a result of member feedback indicating it would be convenient to renew without being required to call or mail in a request to do soWe acknowledge that with every improvement, we run the risk of offending a small portion of our membersSome people, caught off guard when their renewal goes through, clearly do not benefit from this intended convenienceBecause of this, Angie’s List strives to make sure that each member has the opportunity to learn about the program prior to paying for a membershipWe also email members prior to the renewal date to notify them of the upcoming charge Ms*** has already been in contact with a supervisor at Angie’s List and her concerns were in the process of being addressed and handled. The recent membership charge was refunded and two checks are being issued to cover all overdraft fees, totaling $105. These checks are being overnighted to Ms*** to avoid any further overdraft fees I find it regrettable that we have failed Ms***We strive to provide top-notch service to our membersAgain, we sincerely apologize for the frustration this has caused Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Unfortunatly, I do not appear to be getting what we agreed to Angie's list said that they would provide greater visability by"dropping their paywall" which I thought to mean that anyone coming from Google would be able to search and use Angie's list without signing up This different is large because Google cannot scan and index the categories and Google treats sites differently that have a wall up before their data.I did not sign a contract stating that there is a 35% cancellation fee that I know of and Angie's list did not provide me with what I thought I was getting Angie's list is a scam and a fraud and I will not be paying anything in the future.

***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to respond to complaints against our
companyI apologize for the delay in my response We certainly take Mr*** and his concerns very seriously, and are working directly with him to resolve any and all concerns. Some of the issues Mr*** expressed frustration with in his complaint are policy and legal issues that we are not able to modify. However, we value Mr***’s business, and we are doing what we can to find mutually acceptable solutions. At this point, it seems that we will be able to find a suitable agreement with Mr*** that will allow him to continue working with us at Angie’s List In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer has been disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe hope that we can avoid any frustration as we continue to work together Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]I am not satisfied for the following reasons: Angie's List was not able to see the documentation attached in the last response, although I opened it up just now, it's there Also, my response did not show up in red/black, so I have attached that again They have never acknowledged a mistake was made in the contract negotiation, and in the contract itself, and in the sales reps misinformed answers to my questions They knew a mistake had been made and that I was waiting for someone to work with me to work out a different way to advertise with the $I had already paid them, but instead of working on a mutually beneficial solution they went ahead and published the advertising without my knowledge or consent (It's all in the documentation they were unable to see last response.) Their response is inaccurate Not once in the last months has anyone from Angie's List seen beyond the "contract" to a customer

complaints filed against our company. I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr*** for any frustration with his membership, including any emails he may have received that were unwanted after his attempts to unsubscribe Mr*** has updated his email preferences on Angie’s List to minimize email correspondence from Angie’s List. As requested, I have taken the necessary steps to ensure that Angie’s List will no longer correspond to Mr*** using his email address. There are prepopulated email lists in place that could result in Mr*** receiving a few emails within the next week, however any email correspondence after this should not be an issue for Mr***. February 3, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN Attn*** *** Re: Complaint Case # *** ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to clarify anything that might
not have been addressed previously On 12/28/2016, Mr*** started to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per an electronically signed agreement. We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesEach contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement. Mr*** was in communication with representatives discussing his advertising, as well as an additional program Angie’s List offers for eCommerce opportunities. Mr***’s company did not qualify to start running offers in our eCommerce programs when he initially started his advertising campaign. Due to this issue, Mr*** cancelled his contract and disputed all charges associated with his contract. Some of the charges disputed were for services that had been rendered After reviewing Mr***’s complaint, Angie’s List will waive the early termination fee since Mr***’s request to cancel was made within days of starting his advertising campaign. This has been addressed with the collections company Mr***’s debt currently resides with. Angie’s List will not waive the amount owed for services rendered in the amount of $21. Mr*** can resolve this debt with the collections company directly We strive to provide top notch customer service to members and service providers alike and regret that the consumer was disappointed with his experience with Angie’s ListWe delivered to the extent of our contractAngie’s List and Mr***’s company have a binding agreement, and just as we have acted in accordance with our obligations, so must Mr*** Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. filed against our company I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms*** for any frustration she has experienced with our new website Ms***’s review should be submitting to our new website without technical errors at this time. Angie’s List has rolled over to a new website. All members should have no problems submitting reviews or conducting searches on the new website. If Ms*** is experiencing technical difficulties, Angie’s List IT will gladly look into Ms***’s account to attempt to resolve any issue creating these errors Ms*** has contacted Angie’s List several times regarding this issue. Ms***’s account has been set up so it will not automatically renew. If Ms*** wishes to renew her membership, she will have to do so manually. Angie’s List has also issued a full refund for Ms***’s membership fees already and advised Ms*** that we are allowing her to keep her membership at no cost with Gold level benefits for the remainder of her current membership term, which ends 3/31/2017. Additionally, Angie’s List representatives have offered to assist Ms*** each time she has contacted Angie’s List to uncover any technical issues that may be causing the issues she has described. Ms*** has declined this assistance and ended the call, chat, or email conversation with the representative. I can certainly understand Ms***’s frustration with this situation. Erick Simpson emailed Ms*** yesterday to request additional information regarding the technical issues she has experienced. Erick will gladly take the information Ms*** can provide to have our IT Department address the issues with Ms***’s account I find it regrettable that we left Ms*** feeling she had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.comWe strive to provide top-notch service to our members Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed
against our companyI apologize for the delay in my response
I first wanted to apologize to Mr*** for any frustration he has experienced during the sale or cancellation of his advertisement
On 2/10/2016, Mr*** electronically agreed to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per the attached agreementWe require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesEach contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement
We have reviewed our sales process and customer service with Mr***Although Mr*** did sign onto the business center to accept this contract, we have agreed to waive our standard Early Termination Fee for the contract in light of any possible confusion about the term of the contractWe will also consider the contract to have expired out at the end of the first month of advertisingIn terms of the portion of his advertising term that already ran, his advertisement was running as he agreed, and this payment was due for services rendered
In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe strive to provide top-notch customer service, and would welcome another chance to work with Mr***’s business
Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information

Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention We have already responded to this complaint under Case # *** The only update here is the inclusion of this company's exclusion from category search due to fraudulent reporting practices. Although *** ***g
is correct that he was warned for this behavior in 2014, we found two additional instances of fraudulent reporting, and this is the reason for our action now rather than in 2014. Thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint Please let me know if we can provide any further information. Kind regards, Jesse ***Angie's List
Angie's List believes it has resolved this complaint with this customer. While we haven't been able to get in touch with this customer directly, we have notified the customer of their refund and the timeline to expect to receive their refund

our company On 2/29/2016, Mr*** started to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per an electronically signed agreement. We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesEach contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement. In light of any frustration or misunderstanding Mr*** experienced related to our website or through customer service received, Angie’s List has agreed to waive the early termination fee if Mr*** should wish to cancel his advertising. Angie’s List, however, would like to offer Mr*** another potential solution to continue to do business. Angie’s List is willing to waive the balance for the two months of unpaid advertising and provide Mr*** with free Call Center advertising for the remainder of his term should he choose to continue to advertise with Angie’s List. We are asking Mr*** to please reach out to his Client Success Manager, Brad H***, to notify if he would like to move forward with the cancellation of his advertising or to accept our offer to repair the relationship and stay in business with one another We strive to provide top notch customer service, and we regret that Mr*** felt that he had no recourse but to turn to the Revdex.com Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.1) The conversation about cancelation of credit card was indeed with the financial institution.2) The chat the business referred to started with my request for a refund The "gracious" reply was paragraphs of propaganda about the great benefits of membership and another paragraph saying that I signed up Feb I DID NOT sign up for any level of membership in Feb 2016.3) I have had the same Email address for several years I have never received any Emails regarding auto-renew from Angie's List.4) I really resent apologies that begin with "We apologize that the customer didn't understand......" The inference is that the apologizer did nothing wrong and the recipient is just too stupid to understand.5) The original cancellation was in response to Angie's List's publicized decision not to build in Indianapolis in response to Indiana's law protecting the religious freedom of business owners to refuse personal services contradictory to their religious beliefs If Angie's List wants to withhold services based on political beliefs, I will exercise my right not to do business with them under any circumstance, and that did not change in Feb nor will it now

determined the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. While I have made numerous attempts to contact Angie's List including leaving several voice mail messages, Angie's List has not contacted me with any resolution. The primary response that I have heard from Angie's List is that they are denying my refund even though they did not dispute that no services were provided and money was paid to them

The consumer is entitled to post the grade they feel best fits their experienceAngie’s List does not reach out to consumers to ask for additional information about their reviews, and instead we leave it to the consumers to decide how to grade their experiencesThough our review guidelines do state that consumers must only report on their own firsthand experience, our memberships exist on a household basis, and it seems clear that both a father and daughter were involved in the hiring experience for the daughter’s wedding photographer.
