May 27, 2015Indianapolis Revdex.comEWashington StreetIndianapolis, IN 46202Attn*** ***Re: Complaint Case # ***, Thank you again for bringing this updated complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company Mr*** is correct that there was a miscommunication from a former employee The $was communicated to be a prorated refund of his additional city subscription Per our policy, these additional city subscriptions are not eligible for any kind of refund However, as Mr*** appears to have been given that information from an employee, we are willing to make a final good faith effort to resolve this complaint.Mr*** should soon be in receipt of the aforementioned check for $50.04, as it was already mailed out on Monday, May 18th In addition, I am personally mailing a $VISA gift card to Mr*** as a final courtesy in light of the frustrations and miscommunications he experienced This card will be mailed out tomorrow, May 28th Per our policies, the total refundable amount of Mr***s remaining membership would have been $ We have now refunded $via check, plus this additional $via a VISA gift cardWe are providing this as a final attempt to resolve this and make amends for any miscommunication or error on our part.Thanks again for the opportunity to respond Please let me know if we can provide any further information *** ***Angie’s List

There may have been a delay on our website, but as of today there is only one C review from this consumer on *** *** *** business profile. The consumer is entitled to post the grade they feel best fits their experienceAngie’s List does not reach out to consumers to ask for additional information about their reviews, and instead we leave it to the consumers to decide how to grade their experiencesThough our review guidelines do state that consumers must only report on their own firsthand experience, our memberships exist on a household basis, and it seems clear that both a father and daughter were involved in the hiring experience for the daughter’s wedding photographer. Therefore, the review meets our standards and is allowed to be postedIn short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe strive to provide top-notch customer service. As we never received a response from our member, and in light of the long distance between Mr***’s service area and the member’s address, we have temporarily deleted both reviews left by this member If the member were to respond to Angie’s List and let us know where they intended their review, we would post it in the correct place, after confirming whether the second review was intended instead as an update to the original review.I find it regrettable that we left Mr*** feeling no other recourse than to complain to the Revdex.com I thank Mr*** for his patience, as we do not delete reviews while the reconfirmation process is still going on; however, when the process comes to a close, we will sometimes remove reviews due to strong indications that the member is in error. On December 10, 2014, Ms*** agreed to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per the attached agreement Before Angie’s List will publish an advertisement, we require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesEach contract includes a standard cancellation feeThat fee is 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement. The other program that Ms*** refers to in her complaint is our Big Deal Storefront programThis program allows members to purchase products from positively-rated providers via the Angie’sList systemInstead of up-front costs to the provider, the Big Deals involve profit sharing. Ms*** has been in communication with her account manager recently discussing her advertising. Certainly, if she wishes to cancel her advertising and stop future contact, she should let her account manager know and they will process her cancellation and details associated with that. In short, I sincerely apologize if we failed to deliver to the extent of Ms***’s expectationsWe did, however, deliver to the extent of our contractAngie’s List and Ms***’s company have abinding agreement, and just as we have acted in accordance with our obligations, so must Ms***No refund will be given. Revdex.com:The Father was never involved besides writing a checkThe only time he was involved after the writing of the check was from us contacting him with finding out where to return the checkHis name is not on the contractHe was not our client, this is against Angie's List own policyBut, he pays you and we don't I guess that means you side with himEverything written in the review is hearsay from his daughterWho also happened to lie to her father and told him we didn't except credit cards,(We do) leading to him being the one to write the checkHe got played by his daughter, who then failed to pay the remaining balance on the contractShe did not stay in contact with usWe emailed and called several times which went unansweredAfter a month past the due date of the final payment, with no contact from the Bride or Groom, we sent the clients a Contract Cancellation in the mail that the indeed sign and returnWe then promptly mailed out her fathers returnKeep the lies up, We no longer care, just shows us your website cannot be trusted and this will be shared with our thousands of clients and fans from around the USAngie's list is a non-verifiable review website that allows lies from 3rd parties that were never in contact with the businesses to leave reviews as long as they are paying customers to the site.

I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms*** for any frustration or confusion regarding her membership
Ms*** has been a member of Angie’s List since at least During the years between now and when she first signed up, she has utilized our automatic renewal feature for some years, and chose to manually renew her membership during other yearsThough our membership agreement does advise that our default setting for memberships involves automatic renewal, we are always happy to change any member’s billing status upon request
I have reached out personally to Ms*** via phone and email to offer to set her account’s billing up however she likesWe even have a free Green membership available if she prefers to change to that optionI am especially concerned by Ms***’s mention of emailing us with no response, as I do not see records of those emails from our endI would love to work directly with her to investigate these and be sure we responded to any and all inquiries
Ms*** last renewed her membership in August of Though we do not normally offer refunds for renewals after days from the renewal, I have made an exception and issued a refund of her most recent renewalI have also left her account active through her expiration date next August
I find it regrettable that we left Ms*** feeling she had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.comWe strive to provide top-notch service to our membersI would welcome Ms*** to continue to contact me directly so that I can continue assisting her

We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesEach contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement. In light of any frustration experienced with customer service, Angie’s List will consider Mr***’s contract to be terminated as of 11/1/2016. We are currently in the process of cancelling his contract and are removing Mr***’s company from our web and call center advertisements. In light of any frustration or misunderstanding Mr*** experienced related to our website or through customer service received, Angie’s List has agreed to waive the early termination fee if Mr*** should wish to cancel his advertising. Angie’s List, however, would like to offer Mr*** another potential solution to continue to do business. Angie’s List is willing to waive the balance for the two months of unpaid advertising and provide Mr*** with free Call Center advertising for the remainder of his term should he choose to continue to advertise with Angie’s List. I apologize for my delay in responding to the Revdex.com about this complaintI’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms*** for the frustration she mentions in her complaintAs Ms*** mentioned, she purchased an offer from the company Walker Boy Landscaping LLC on April 20th, 2015. Though we are proud of our industry-leading Service Quality Guarantee, it does only apply to purchases made on or after October 19th, 2016. As such, Ms*** purchase was several months outside the qualifying periodThat said, I do want to assist Ms*** with her purchase, and have reached out to her personally to offer my assistance. I have called and emailed her but have not yet received a response. Angie's List believes it has resolved this complaint with this customer. While we haven't been able to get in touch with this customer directly, we have notified the customer of their refund and the timeline to expect to receive their refund
I accept the full refund Also I asked for someone to call me because no one responded to my email request I understand that my level of membership only has email help available but when no is responding to my emails then I tried another avenue. *** ***

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.1) The conversation about cancelation of credit card was indeed with the financial institution.2) The chat the business referred to started with my request for a refund The "gracious" reply was paragraphs of propaganda about the great benefits of membership and another paragraph saying that I signed up Feb I DID NOT sign up for any level of membership in Feb 2016.3) I have had the same Email address for several years I have never received any Emails regarding auto-renew from Angie's List.4) I really resent apologies that begin with "We apologize that the customer didn't understand......" The inference is that the apologizer did nothing wrong and the recipient is just too stupid to understand.5) The original cancellation was in response to Angie's List's publicized decision not to build in Indianapolis in response to Indiana's law protecting the religious freedom of business owners to refuse personal services contradictory to their religious beliefs If Angie's List wants to withhold services based on political beliefs, I will exercise my right not to do business with them under any circumstance, and that did not change in Feb nor will it now
