The worst. Mowed once then never showed up. No call. No nothing. Do your self a favor. Call someone else. These people extort you into mowing once a week. All of them.
Even the ones with websites and logos. To hell with all of them. May they step in dog doo doo at least 7 times everrrrrry time they mow. All of them.

The website offers a one time mowing option which I requested and then was told I could not get the service. I was told it was something only offered in the winter months but the website does not indicate this as a limitation.

The Lawn Starter crew damaged my lawn and did not correct the issue. To resolve they sent another crew that caused more damage.
On May 22, 2018, I contacted Lawn Starter to report damage to my lawn. *** replied and asked that I send her photos of the damage. I immediately sent her 8 pictures of the damage. I informed *** that my specific directions were in the preferences section of my account and had been addressed since April 2017.

On May 23, 2018, I received an email from *** which read:
"I'm sorry about those issues and I'm sorry that your crew wasn't able to provide you a 5-star mow. However, they definitely want to keep trying. I've gone ahead and added a note on your account so that your crew is mindful of your feedback on your next mow. We also have an awesome feature available to you on my.lawnstarter.com or the mobile app that allows you to communicate service notes, pictures and complaints directly with your crew. That way, they know exactly what needs to be addressed. We are working on a solution for you and will contact you with an update asap. We appreciate your patience. For further information on our services, feel free to visit our Support page at https://support.lawnstarter.com/hc/en-us." It occurred to me that she hadn't read the preferences like *** and the new crew that was assigned.

On the 25th I received another email stating that she was reaching out to the support group to receive a resolution on the mulching and grass damage in 48 hours. That did not happen. On May 29th I received an email from Ms. stating that a new crew was assigned, and she would note the account on the instructions to use a push mower and bag to catch the clippings. I informed her that those instructions have been in the account since April 2017, and I wanted to know how the damage would be addressed. On the 29th Ms. replied with the following message: "We apologize for the inconvenience; our support team reviewed your account and your crew job as well and see that the crew did the job correctly on May 23rd. Unfortunately, the service you need does not come included in a basic lawn mowing subscription. This consists of the mow itself, blowing off hard surfaces, and edging."

I replied and told her I disagreed with her review and that I was not inconvenienced, my lawn was damaged, and I needed some type of resolution to repair the damage. I listed the instructions to use a mower with a bag to catch clippings, and to prevent any clippings from going into the mulch with my original subscription in April 2017. The original crew did a fantastic job following all instructions for an entire year at the quoted cost. All subsequent crews in 2018 damaged my lawn.

Changing the crew who replicated the previous crew's damage would not suffice. I cancelled the service and looked for other lawn care providers to repair the damage and service the lawn.

Consequently, I hored another company to repair the damage and begin a new service.
Repair Costs
Mulch - 75.00
Grass - 75.00
Clean Mow - 45.00
Damage Mow Reimbursement - 58.50

TOTAL REIMBURSEMENT REQUESTED $ 253.50

On June 6th I received a text message from *** at Lawn Starter to mow my entire lawn. The regular price to mow is around $35, but since I had not committed yet they offered me a trial run for $19. I agreed to give them a trial run and explained multiple times that I needed the front yard, backyard, and the grass on either side of my garage mowed and edged. I called and scheduled for them to come out thinking the moving would be taken care of on 6/8/18 since that was the available date online. I was also told that since my yard would be considered overgrown that I would be charged half the bi-weekly fee (about $15).

I got home on 6/8 and my yard as not mowed. I called Lawn Starter and followed up at that point. I was told I was actually scheduled for 6/11 or 6/12. I explained that this information was not shared with me when I scheduled for them to come out. Due to the issue I was told I would receive a $20 credit towards my bill. I thanked them and hung up.

On 6/12/18 I received an email stating the mowing was complete and asking about my experience. I was not happy with the mowing as they did not complete all areas and the edging was bad. I explained this through their comment section. The mowing company said they would do better next time, but nothing else was done.

I received an email with my bill on 6/17 and noticed I was overcharged. My approved initial charge of $19 and the $20 discount for the inconvenience did not show on the bill. I was charged the regular bi-weekly fee of $35ish plus another $33 for overgrowth (double what I was told my overgrowth fee would be). I emailed and explained the issues with the billing and requested an itemized bill showing my discounts. They responded that I was charged an overgrowth fee because my yard was overgrown. From previous conversations I was aware I was going to be charged half the bi-weekly rate for the overgrowth and pointed out again that my discounts did not show up. I received a follow up email that this issue had been closed and asking how I felt the issue was handled. I responded that the issue was not resolved and requested someone contact me to resolve the problem. I've never heard from anyone.

As part of the initial deal I had to commit the let them mow my lawn three times to get the deal. On 6/25 Lawn Starter sent a different lawn company out and they again did not mow the entire area requested. To get into my backyard they had to drive the mower over the grass by my garage, which I've requested multiple times to be mowed. I again rated my experience and explained that they did not complete the entire job. I have not heard from anyone again.

I would like the money I was overcharged returned to me and a discount for the fact that they did not complete moving either time they have come out.

Just to clarify, the service was in ***. However, LawnStarter is an app which allows you to hire local lawn mowing companies, so their services are dependant on the state. Their main office however is in ***.

I called LawnStarter about a week ago to now our lawn and do some minor clean up. When I spoke to the LawnStarter rep on the phone, she assured me my total bill for everything would not exceed $150. The costs were to include the mowing plus a new customer fee plus a half hour of clean up.

What happened instead was being charged $74 for mowing and a new customer fee PLUS an additional $211 for clean up.

Number one, there was no real clean up. There were piles of grass all over my lawn, not to mention grass clippings all over my new mulch. The only clean up were a couple dead bushes I had already cut. All they needed to do was simply haul them away. Everything else was involved mowing, so when I was hit with the charges, and keep in mind my yard, while big, does not exceed a 1/2 acre, seemed insane.

Number two, I found out why they would not provide a service unless you give them a credit card ahead of time. No bill was sent to me UNTIL the charges already hit. This is a complete scam. It is giving license for a company to charge whatever they feel without you reviewing the bill first. Had I known this ahead of time I would never had hired them. As it stands I feel violated for being taken advantage of.

I have been using Lawn Starters for about 5 months now. We don't want our yard cut short. It damages the lawn. We had to ask each time for the service to raise the mower. Yesterday (7-2-18) Kyle *** crew cut our yard. They cut the front yard (1/3 of it) so short my grass looked dead, but in the middle of realizing it they raised the mower. So 1/3 is scalped and the other 2/3's is higher. Their answer was to come fixing this. You can't fix it - If they did they would have butchered the other 2/3's. I'm disgusted with this job. No - I did not have to pay for it, however, now I have to be embarrased of my lawn for the next 10 days and have to find new Lawn Care. I do not suggest anyone use this service. No matter what I communicated, It was not taken into consideration. I am so dissappointed.

I think this could honestly be described as both a service and a Customer Service issue. I contacted LawnStarter in April 2018, chiefly to complete weeding and mulching of my quarter acre lot. I was quoted one price, then another, ultimately totaling $588. The guy that came out to complete the job failed miserably, did not complete weeding, did not complete mulching, and the pieces he DID complete were very poorly and partially done.

I was immediately in contact with this individual (acting as a LawnStarter agent, mind you) to express my dissatisfaction, and he confirmed that he would fix it and "make it right". After agreeing to this and setting a date, he never came back - and never returned my calls nor texts.

Now, since I've waited "too long" to contact LawnStarter - believing their agent would make good on their promise - they're unwilling to correct their extremely poor and unacceptable service - a service I paid $588 for. I've contacted them several times to try and resolve this, and have gotten nowhere. Therefore, I'm left with no other options other than to contact the Revdex.com.

The services are promised, over promised and not followed through on. Services are sold that are not provided and then messages sent they cannot service the area as they do not have staff. Service was scheduled, cancelled, rescheduled, cancelled. Sales are not being honest, they are selling services that are not provided. Had a detail conversation to which multiple positive answers and assurances were given. Then multiple emails of postponement, reschedule, looking for crew and ultimate cancellation as they have no crews available and cannot provide service. They just leave you hanging. And they try to charge for services when no service is provided. This is a big rip off and leaves customers in the lurch. When talking with support, there is no one available to assist, no supervisors on site and no calls back. Not a good business practice! This company has a good idea, but poor follow-up, is not honest or service oriented. Leaves customers hanging with no solution or assistance.

While initially I found this company to be easy to work with that changed quickly. The first time I scheduled a mow I asked to have the crew who picks up the mow call me before they arrive, I did not hear back so I rescheduled to a later date, I got a confirmation for the rescheduled date over a two day window and no one showed up. They sent me an email saying rate our mow and I called the company and cancelled my service because I had not been given any warning that the mow was cancelled. Despite me cancelling my service they rescheduled the mow and still no one showed up but they still charged me for the service. I called them back and the girl on the line argued with me saying that when no one showed they put in a dispute which means that it reschedules your mow and I was never given a heads up about this. I understand sometimes plans change but as a customer I should be notified in advance when they need to cancel even an hour before would be appropriate.

I had a terrible experience with one of the lawn care contractors that this company employs. The person they had contracted to come mow my lawn sent several messages with varying price quotes, he also showed up in an unprofessional manner to look at my house. I filed a complaint with LawnStarter and they sent my exact complaint information to the contractor. He then got mad and sent me 13 harassing messages throughout the evening. When I notified LawnStarter of the issues I was having, their only response was that they were sorry for the inconvenience, harassment is against their strict policies and to call law enforcement if I felt threatened. My concern is that they are still continuing to do business with this contractor and other individuals may encounter the same problem. There seemed to be little concern on the part of LawnStarter and their practice of sharing exact customer complaint information is unprofessional. Because they did this, I have received all of the harassing emails and fear this guy is going to show up at my own and damage my property or even be threatening to me personally.
