I took out a short term loan after starting a new job because I was short on cash and needed to pay rent. Avant Credit was fast and easy and I am very satisfied with their service. If I had had a choice, I would have not taken out the loan because of the interest rates, but they are the same with any payday loan company. Overall, I would use them again! But hopefully, that won't happen!

My husband died last July. Avant had an auto draft on my checking account. I contacted the company requesting auto draft and details regarding the account because I could find no documentation. They requested a death certificate. I sent it. The draft continued. Contacted my bank and Avant to stop this draft and send documentation regarding the account again. Once again they requested a death certificate, which I again sent. They have continued every month for 20 months to withdraw this amount. My bank catches it and within a week usually fixes it. This last week Avant submitted the auto draft with a new account number. As of now my account has $710 withdrawn. My bank told me the only way to stop this is to close the account and open a new one. That means ordering new checks and waiting on new cards. Is this legal on Avant's part?

READ FIRST I applied for a loan and got the preapproval Didn't hear from no one for about a day so I kept checking the website, at one point the website said my email was wrong and typed in my email again but wouldn't accept it then I just logged off. checked again and it had a contract/promissory note read it and signed it thought it was approved nothing about it was a preapproval contract.then wander why I haven't got any emails. today a lady called saying they needed more info about income and bank info, it feels like a scam and asked why I signed a contact which she said its a preapproval. I told her it felt like a scam and had to think about. I went ahead sent the info. Then a guy called saying he needed my social so of course I'm asking why he needs it and he says a discrepancy in my social.I'm like how is that and you checked my credit n it's on my credit. He was a total [redacted] n said well then don't give it to me. He acted like a scammer n why not ask the first call. Horrible

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The response stated that they comply with all state and federal laws, yet they ignored my request again.
Utah law states, in which they are governed... specifically:
According to Title 7, Chapter 23, Part 4, Section 403 (3)(b) states that my credit report shall be modified to reflect the status of the new loan or repayment plan, and not the previous loan
which was in default, as follows: A deferred deposit loan may not be considered in default during the extended payment plan period if the person who receives the deferred deposit loan
complies with the terms of the extended payment plan.
However, they clearly stated that they would not update my credit report to reflect the new repayment plan that is in default, which is not compliant with the foregoing statute.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

They asked for my online banking user name and password to verify that I had an account. They DO NOT need that information to verify a banking account!

and take all feedback seriously. Furthermore, we are confident we comply with all applicable state and federal rules, laws, and regulations. According to our records, on November 10, 2014, you submitted a loan request via www.Avant.com. On November 18, 2014, you were approved for a loan in the amount of $1,300.00 and executed a loan agreement. On April 12, 2015, you contacted Avant to inquire about refinancing. At this time, you were provided with a link to our refinance request page. Upon submission of your refinance inquiry, it was determined that you did not qualify for refinancing at that time, and you were subsequently sent a Notice of Adverse Action. Please note that just like your initial loan request, refinance requests are considered on an individual basis and are based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, your credit score, repayment history, and debt to income ratio. On April 20, 2015, Avant attempted to debit your regularly scheduled installment payment in the amount of $150.33. On April 22, 2015, this installment payment returned due to insufficient funds. Accordingly, your account fell into a “late” status. On May 20, 2015, Avant attempted to debit your regularly scheduled installment payment in the amount of $150.33. On May 22, 2015, your installment payment for the month of May returned, and your bank indicated that the bank account on file was no longer valid. As a result, Avant was unable to attempt further debits to satisfy payment from this account. This same date, you contacted Avant via telephone to make a partial payment toward your past due balance. A payment in the amount of $150.00 was made towards this balance via credit card. During this call, Avant also requested documentation in order to update the bank account on file. Please note that this documentation has not been received and, as a result, the bank account on file remains invalid. On September 9, 2015, Avant received a letter indicating your dissatisfaction with your decline for refinancing, as well as an allegation that Avant would not accept a payment lower than your full past due balance. On September 21, 2015, Avant responded via e-mail advising that your inquiry for refinance was appropriately declined and explaining that, on May 22, 2015, you contacted Avant telephonically and were able to make a partial payment toward your past due balance. At no time did Avant refuse to take a payment for less than your full past due balance. Please note that customers are able to make payments from the bank account on file via their Customer Dashboard at any time. However, since the bank account on file remains invalid, you will be unable to make payments via this bank account until the account is updated. As you were previously advised, you may update your bank account by contacting Customer Support at [redacted], or by providing the requested documentation via e-mail to [email protected]. Furthermore, if you are having difficulty making payments, our Payments team would be happy to provide you with information regarding our various repayment options.Additionally, we have reviewed the credit reporting for your account and have confirmed that the information reported on behalf of your account is accurate. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Avant is unable to remove or modify any information submitted to a consumer reporting agency if the information is found to be complete and accurate. Consequently, we will be unable to honor your request to modify the credit reporting for your account. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. Here at Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.Sincerely,Avant Compliance Department

Dont get caught in getting a loan with Avant. They will try to rip every dime every pennies from you. I got a loan from Avant because of my financial hardship and once I got the money I paid them off right away and they still set up their system to charge interest for an extra 2 days, let say you pay on the 5th but their system will set up on the 7th. Here is my story. DONT DONT DONT. PLEASE TAKE MY WORDS AND YOU WILL FEEL SORRY.

customers and take all feedback seriously.Upon review of your account, we have determined that on July 25, 2015, you contacted Avant via e-mail in order to set up a payment to pay off your loan in full. Accordingly, Avant sent you an e-mail confirming a payoff payment in the amount of $1,431.83 to be debited from the bank account on file on July 27, 2015.On August 11, 2015, Avant sent you a notice via e-mail confirming that your loan was paid in full. Please be advised that Avant reports the previous month’s history to the credit bureaus on a monthly basis. Accordingly, your account was reported as ‘paid off’ to the credit bureaus on or around one month after you paid off your loan. On October 30, 2015, Avant received a paper check from you in the amount of $1,558.00. Due to an isolated process issue, the refund of this additional payment was not properly initiated. We apologize for any inconvenience. Upon discovering this issue, the refund request was initiated. The issue has since been resolved, and a refund in the amount of $1,558.00 has since been sent to the bank account on file. Accordingly, we consider this matter resolved. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. Here at Avant we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. After watching an interview on [redacted] about how great Avant was I thought I would try. My credit rating is close to 700 only low due to credit cards I wanted to pay off with a small loan. This company proved it is still a child in the world of business for sure.
I was asked to send my taxes and bank statement after being aware of approval to a point. So I did this as asked. Then it was a cover letter for my taxes. Then my bank logo on my bank statement. I am self employed and have been for over 25 years. So if I can stay successful at being self employed this long well. I can also depreciate a lot on my taxes which can show very low income at times.
My bank statements should havery clarified this easily. But it was clear I should have not wasted my time with this [redacted] operation and just went to my bank in the first place to ask for such a small amount of money I was already told it was a problem at a local bank.
Lesson learned and will not only nevery use this again but will also share my experience with all I can. Tell them if your self employed forget dealing with this company they don't take any of it to consideration. Waste of time so yes I am [redacted] I emailed my info to Anant.

feedback seriously. On April 11, 2015, you submitted a loan request with Avant of California, LLC (“Avant”) via a marketing affiliate. That same day, your loan was approved and you signed a loan agreement detailing the rates and terms of a closed-end installment loan. Funds were issued to your bank account on or about April 13, 2015. Per the terms of your loan agreement, information such as late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected in your credit report. On March 18, 2016, at your request, Avant provided you with a payment plan arrangement that established an alternate schedule of reduced payments in order to assist you in repaying your loan. Per the terms of the payment plan agreement, if any payment plan payment is more than ten (10) days late, the payment arrangement will automatically terminate. The payment plan agreement clearly stated that the terms of the original underlying loan agreement, including the original payment schedule, shall be reinstated if the payment arrangement is terminated. Per your payment plan agreement, a payment of $155.42 was due on July 28, 2016. As this payment was not received within ten (10) days of its scheduled due date, your payment plan arrangement was terminated and the terms of your underlying loan agreement were reinstated. Accordingly, your account entered into a past due status, as the total amount of payments you had submitted did not satisfy the total amount of payments owed under the terms of your original loan agreement. On August 25, 2016, twenty-eight (28) days after your scheduled payment plan payment date, you contacted Avant in an effort to schedule your $155.42 payment plan payment. Please note that, while your payment plan was correctly terminated, you should have been provided the option during this call to schedule a payment to be applied towards your original payment schedule and past due balance. Due to an isolated process issue, you were informed that a payment could not be processed on the account at that time. We apologize for any inconvenience this miscommunication may have caused.Later that day, you contacted Avant via email and requested an explanation of your credit reporting status. Following a thorough review of your account, Avant responded to your credit reporting inquiry via email on September 21, 2016 and advised that the information reported to the credit bureaus following the termination of your long term payment plan was correct, as your account was over 120 days past due under the terms of the original loan agreement, effective the date of your inquiry. As a payment scheduled on August 25, 2016 may have reduced or satisfied the past due account status which was subsequently reported to the credit bureaus, Avant has elected to file an update for your account as a courtesy. This update was filed to the credit reporting agencies on October 12, 2016. Please note that the credit reporting agencies follow their own policies of updating credit reports and it may take a few days for this update to reflect on your credit report. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Sincerely,Avant Compliance Department

Dear[redacted]
We are in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com (Case #XXXXXXXX). We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your customer experience. Here at Avant we pride ourselves in providing...

excellent customer service to all of our customers and take all feedback seriously.
Upon investigation of your account, it was discovered that you increased your installment payment due July 1, 2015 from the regularly scheduled amount of $447.96 to $12,400.00, which was the initial principal amount of your loan. Per the loan agreement signed by you on April 26, 2015, interest began to accrue on the principal balance of the loan starting on April 30, 2015, the effective date of the loan agreement.
On July 1, 2015 the outstanding balance was $12,705.42. Subsequently, you made a payment in the amount of $12,400.00 effective July 1, 2015. Accordingly, a balance of $305.42 remained on your account following this payment.
Please be advised that the remaining principal balance will continue to accrue interest until your loan is paid off. Payoffs may be made via paper check, money order, remotely created check or ACH from the bank account on file. Please be advised that you can view your payoff amount online using the following steps on the Customer Dashboard at www.Avant.com:
1. Click "Make a Payment", located to the right of your payment schedule.
2. Select "Make an Additional Payment".
3. Select the date you would want to schedule the payoff (please note: the payoff date must be at least one business day out)
Once you have completed the steps outlined above, a payoff amount will be generated. If you do not wish to proceed with paying off your loan, be sure to click the "CANCEL" button. Please note that payments that fall on a weekend or bank holiday are set for the following business day. If you have any questions about this process, please contact Customer Support at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX.

customers and take all feedback seriously. As you know, on March 7, 2016 Avant contacted you via telephone in an effort to resolve this matter. During the call, you were advised that, due to an isolated system issue, your minimum monthly payment for the month of September was $162.67, when in fact it should have been $271.79. As a courtesy, Avant credited the difference between these amounts to your account. All following monthly statements were found to be accurate. You indicated you were satisfied with this explanation. Additionally, as a courtesy, any late fees assessed to your account since November 2015 have been waived. I applied for a personal loan online through Avant's website. Right away I was told that I was approved, all I had to do was electronically sign the contract. I signed the contract and was then asked to enter my bank account information to receive the money by electric transfer. I entered both my routing number and account number and hit submit. The next screen popped up and told me that I wasn't approved. I was very confused because I was told I was already approved and was prompted to enter my bank account info. When I called their customer service, I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was put on hold multiple times and after 15 minutes I was given a message "from a supervisor" that I was only pre-approved, not "approved, approved"

I was very upset that I had given out my bank account info after being told I was approved only to be denied.

On Wednesday I applied for a small loan through here in order to consilidate some debt and do ome work on my credit score. Thursday, they called me at work 4 times asking the same questions: "Do you work at ___?" (Well yeah, you're calling me on the business line...) "You're pay is deposited directly on __ and __ of each month?" "Do you have any other income you'd like to claim?" I answered the questions each time they called, despite getting annoyed with them 1) calling me at work and 2) asking the same questions... again... and again... and again... Friday comes, they call me at work and need me to send copies of my license, the need copies of my paystub, oh and get this... they need my username, password, and pin to log into my personal bank account. Reluctantly I gave it to them, but quickly called my bank and changed everything. Oh, and did I mention they needed to verify the same information they did on Thursday? Whatever, Saturday comes and I get an e-mail to sign the contract for my loan. Now, I thought the annoying phone calls and e-mails were done, so I tried opening the link they e-mailed me to sign the contract. The link only opens the dashboard for the status of my loan. Okay, I give it time. Sunday comes, I try again to open it and there's no luck, so I call their customer service line. Low and behold... they need to confirm my place of employment, dates I'm paid, and direct deposit status... AGAIN! Fine, we go through all that and the lady says I'll get an e-mail in 24-hours. Great, thanks! Well, It's now Sunday night, and I got an e-mail... denying the loan, even though they sent an e-mail to sign my loan contract! Are you kidding me? I work with you, confirm my information, despote the calls to my work, my cell, and my e-mail asking the same questions more times than I can count. Absolute waste of time. And at 34% APR to boot. DO NOT apply for a loan here, do your research, I should have listened to the bad reviews... X out of Avant's window and go elsewhere!

I took loan with avant couldnt pay on time due to financial hardship. Finally I made arrange to settle my account. After I finish my payment I ask Selina billing department supervisor to remove my late payment because even after 120 days Avant keep reporting me to credit bureaus.I had 12 late payments my credit went from 720 to 450.Avant refuse compeletely to work with me.Worst company ever,I wont recommend this company even to my enemies.

feedback seriously. On July 22, 2016, you contacted Avant telephonically and requested a payoff quote for your account. Accordingly, Avant advised you that the payoff amount on the above referenced date was $10,590.12. However, due to an isolated process deficiency, you were mistakenly informed that the cutoff date to receive this payment in order for Avant to honor the payoff quote was August 5, 2016. On August 5, 2016, Avant received a paper check payment in the amount of $10,590.12. Please be advised that, per your loan agreement, daily interest will accrue on the principal balance of your loan. Accordingly, additional interest accrued on your account after you were provided with the previous payoff quote, resulting in a remaining balance. As a result of the above referenced issue, Avant has honored the payoff quote you were provided with on July 22, 2016. Accordingly, your account is now considered paid in full. Additionally, we have received your notice that you are revoking ACH authorization and have made the corresponding changes to your account. We apologize for any inconvenience. Furthermore, we have furnished information regarding the closure of your account to the three major credit reporting agencies: [redacted] effective August 5, 2016. As each credit reporting agency follows its own schedule in updating their reporting, there may be a delay before the appearance of the updated information on your credit reports. Please be advised that we are unable to remove late reporting when we have verified the information is accurate. On October 29, 2015, you failed to make your scheduled installment payment. Accordingly, your account fell into “late” status and was subsequently reported as 30-59 days past due on November 30, 2015. As this has been reported accurately, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) prevents us from removing this information from your credit report. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [email protected]. Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The Avant company stated that they could not give me a lower percentage on the interest rate they charged me due to my credit. I'm not sure what they were looking at because at that time frame I was approved for higher increases on my credit cards through Capitol One and Wells Fargo and in addition I was pre approved for a new car loan which I declined at this time. If in fact my credit was not good enough as they stated, I would not have been able to get better high profile lenders and rate increases. It is troubling to know that this business is charging such extreme amounts to consumers when they are in need to better themselves. I have clearly established myself and have worked hard to obtain better credit. I want to have a lower interest rate so I can pay off this loan and be finished with it. Thank you
Sincerely,
[redacted]
