Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/05/29) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This issue as been going on for about 6 weeks now. Everytime I called they said they would look into it and that they could see it was a problem, but they had to forward it over to another department for resolution. I was even told to read their dispute policy and that I would have to write a letter to Avant and that they would have to acknowledge receipt of the letter and that was part of their policy. I sent the letter with a tracing number and they got that letter 2 weeks ago and still no response. I have called numerous times with promises of getting call backs and nothing. How long does it take to look at an account and correct it. Everytime I would call, I was put on hold for an extremely long time. I have asked numerous times to speak with a manager and was not allowed. One person told me that he would "walk" my issue over to the compliance department to expedite the correction of the error and that he would call me back, but he never did. This company is DEFINITELY taking advantage of those trying to rebuild their credit. Never late with any payments and always paid over the amount. I need an immediate response and not thanking me for my patience. I have no patience, I want an answer. Avant is continuing to blow me off and should be investigated for their business practices.

and take all feedback seriously. As you know, Avant contacted you via telephone on March 1, 2016 regarding this matter. You were advised that, due to an isolated system issue, the payoff quote provided to you in the amount of $1,593.41 was lower than the outstanding balance of your account, resulting in a small remaining balance once a payment in this amount was processed. However, as a courtesy, this remaining balance has been waived. Accordingly, we consider this matter resolved. Here at Avant we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer focused experience. Dear [redacted]
We are in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com (Case [redacted]). We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your customer experience with Avant. Here at Avant we pride ourselves in...

providing excellent customer service to all of our customers and take all feedback seriously.
On Friday, May 29, 2015, you contacted Avant via email requesting a payoff amount for your loan. In this email, you indicated that you wished to pay off your loan within the upcoming days. As such, later that day Avant responded to your email with a payoff quote in the amount of $6,120.50. You were advised in this email that the payoff quote would be available until June 1, 2015. You were also given information regarding how to find your payoff quote on your Customer Dashboard, should you wish to receive a quote for a different date.
On June 9, 2015, Avant received a paper check in the amount of $6,120.50. As this check was received after the date that the original payoff quote was due, additional interest accrued on your account. Consequently, a balance remained on your loan. This balance, in the amount of $48.39, was drafted from the bank account on file on June 23, 2015, your regularly scheduled repayment date. Please note that your loan is now paid off. Additionally, we are confident we comply with all applicable state and federal rules, laws, and regulations. We apologize for any inconvenience.
As a result of your dissatisfaction with our customer service team, we have initiated a refund in the amount of $48.39 to your account as a courtesy.
We trust this explanation resolves this matter. Here at Avant we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [email protected]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
Sincerely,
Avant Compliance Department

Provided refund

I have never in my life dealt with a company that was so unorganized. Every day we called and we got different answers. That our loan was approved and the money will be in account in three day to emails saying we need more information, to the loan took to long and we have to start over. Today I spoke to only one person that I felt knew is job. ( Micheal P)This company is a joke and I wish I had never started a loan with them. I am telling you that all you will get from this company is the run around so find another company so you don't waste your time or energy.

I received a loan from avant the loan company. But before the first payment was due I had paid them back all that I had borrowed. But they said I still had to make that first payment which at that time I agreed to begrudgingly, but wanted it cleared I told them to go ahead and take the payment. But they never did. Then the next month they send me another email saying a payment is due. Which at that time I called them again and the same thing happened. But the payment was never taken. Even though I had already paid the loan off. I logged into the site it said I had paid it off. Then I get an email saying my acct was paid in full and thanks for my business. Then this month I get another Email saying that there was a system glitch and I need to pay that first payment (I got this loan in May paid it back in full by June before it was due). I logged back into the site (this is Sept) and now see that my acct is now back open and they are deducting money off the money I paid in full for my acct. This is crazy

Consumers beware, after receiving several ( along the lines of 10) pre approval offers of up to 35,000 dollars. I decided to entertain the offer and do some debt consolidation on credit cards. I have a flawless repayment history with 10+ financial institutions and after the check your rates portion of the application I was once again pre approved for 25,000 dollars. I entered all the requested info and have acsess to my online banking account which I've had for almost 10 years. Just to receive a were sorry ( that we lied about your approval) and we can't extend the offer. Shame on you avant for wasting my time and singing my credit by luring me into your scam to attain contact information that will probably be sold to a third party for marketing efforts...please take me off your scam list as I won't be accepting the so called pre approved offer of financing in the future. Thanks for taking the time to read the review and no response is required. I hope consumers can find this helpful and I will try to inform and educate on all of the social media sites I can think of. [redacted] and any others that people may use to protect themselves from this sort of nonsense.

Dear Shiela [redacted], We are in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com (Complaint ID # 11127079). We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your customer experience with Avant. Here at Avant we pride ourselves in providing...

excellent service to all of our customers and take all feedback seriously. As you are aware, on February 3, 2016 you initiated a loan request at www.Avant.com. Your loan request was approved on February 5, 2016 and a copy of the executed loan agreement was sent to the email address on file. Due to an isolated system issue, your loan funding was delayed. Accordingly, on February 8, 2016 you were informed that Avant required you to sign an updated loan agreement. Later that day, you signed an updated loan agreement and funds were issued to your account on or about February 10, 2016.We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused. As you are aware, on February 15, 2016, Avant emailed a request for documentation detailing any bank fees that occurred as a result of this delay and, as a courtesy, offered to refund all applicable fees. Additionally, Avant has attempted to contact you telephonically in an effort to resolve this matter, but was unable to reach you.We trust this explanation resolves this matter. Here at Avant we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer focused experience. and take all feedback seriously. Please be advised that we have thoroughly investigated your account and confirmed that your account is being reported to the credit bureaus accurately. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) prevents an institution from removing any information from your credit report which is found to be accurate and complete.Upon review of your account, it was determined that you failed to make your February 2015 installment payment. As a result, your account has been reported 30 to 59 days late to the credit bureaus as of March 31, 2015.You subsequently failed to make your June 2015 installment. As your June 2015 installment was not fulfilled by July 31, 2015, your account has been reported as 30 to 59 days late to the credit bureaus as of July 31, 2015.In August 2015, you entered into a Long Term Payment Plan agreement. Accordingly, your account has been reported as “current” to the credit bureaus during the period in which you were making payments as agreed per your payment plan. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. Please be advised that [redacted] is the credit issuer for the Avant Program, which is a closed-end installment loan program. [redacted] is a Utah-chartered industrial bank, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is an FDIC member bank. [redacted] makes loans to Florida residents as authorized by the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, 12 U.S.C. § 1831d. Federal law gives [redacted] the power to make loans to residents of other states (including the state of Florida) at the rates permitted by the laws of its home state. [redacted] and Avant strive to fully comply with all applicable state and federal rules, laws, and regulations.
All loan applications are considered in accordance with [redacted] established credit policy. Please be advised that all installment loan terms are clearly and fully disclosed on the company website, during the application process, and prominently displayed on your loan agreement prior to signing. For your review, we have attached a copy of your signed loan agreement.
Additionally, on April 30, 2015, you contacted Avant telephonically to inquire about additional payments. During this call, you were mistakenly informed that additional payments would go toward your upcoming installment, resulting in your installment not being debited from your bank account. We apologize for this miscommunication. Payments are applied first to outstanding charges, if any, then to accrued interest and then to principal. Making additional payments towards your outstanding balance helps to decrease the total amount of interest accrued on your account over time. As you know, your June installment in the amount of $360.93 was refunded on or about June 25, 2015.
We trust this resolves this matter to your satisfaction. Here at Avant we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted]@Avant.com. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

I am glad that after I went to these drastic lengths that Avant finally lived up to its end of the bargain. Your reps are rude, except for the rep I spoke with on 4/30/15 who was great.

Dear [redacted],
Thank you for using AvantCredit for your personal finance needs. We are very sorry...

to hear that you were unsatisfied with our service. Here at AvantCredit, customer satisfaction is our top priority and we strive to ensure that our practices reflect that principle.
As you may recall, on April 7th, AvantCredit deposited funds into your bank account. The following day, you contacted our customer service team and advised us that your identity was fraudulently used to apply for a loan without your knowledge or consent. Accordingly, on April 9th, we initiated a debit to retrieve the funds that were allegedly obtained under false pretenses. We also requested that you provide a police report substantiating your claim.

Subsequently, a second application using the exact same information from the alleged fraudulent application was submitted. Thereafter, on April 21st, the same account where the initial loan was deposited was funded a second time in the amount of $2,200.00.
At that time, based on 1) your claim of identity theft; 2) the fact that the second application provided the exact same details as the first alleged fraudulent application; and 3) our internal fraud prevention protocol, we reasonably concluded that the second loan application was made under false pretenses. As a result, we took measures to recover those funds in order to prevent any further alleged incidents of fraud.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience that this process may have caused. Please understand, we acted based on the information we had available at the time and in the interest of preventing the fraudulent use of customer information.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
AvantCredit

Please re-consult with your institution to determine the cause of this issue. We are more than willing to assist. Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/07/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't accept this because they are lying and I will provide my information from my bank to show that they never tried to debit anything from my bank. I can appreciate the truth, but not a lie. [redacted] the supervisor spoke to me and told me herself from Avant credit that all of the information I provided to the company was correct so there should have been no way that my payment shouldn't have been pulled on July 7, 2014. This company is full of it and I will hurry to pay them off in full and I will try to get legal advice regarding this situation at a later time. If my information was correct as [redacted] said it was which I know it was, then why if they tried to debit the acount, why did't it work? Because they never tried and are lying. I want the history part to not say missed payment because I did't miss a payment and they are upset maybe because I called them stupid is, because I was upset when they sent me that email saying my payment was behind when it wasn't, so I don't accept what they are telling the Revdex.com, because they are lying. My bank already made it clear to me that they never tried to put anything through on July 7, 2014 and the only reason why it went through after that date is because I told them to take it out immediately on the phone. It still took one day, so get a life Avant Credit and stopy LYING.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/08/07) */
Dear [redacted],
Again, we want to apologize for your experience with AvantCredit. Rest assured, you will NOT be reported as late to the major credit bureaus as a result of the payment issue. Our records indicate an attempt was made to draft the funds on July 7, 2014. We are more than willing to establish a call with your Institution in an effort to determine the root cause of the issue. Again, you will NOT be reported as late to the major credit bureaus.
If you would like to establish a 3-way conference call with your banking Institution, please give our Compliance Department a call at XXX-XXX-XXXX.

On January 19, 2016, Avant received a paper check payment in the amount of $1,500.00 that lacked sufficient information to be applied to a customer account. This company has outstanding interest rates which I think is illegal. This company also has poor customer service. I will never recommend anyone to do business with this corporation. when life events occur in someone life this company has no compassion or tolerance let alone ability to help their customers.

I would NOT recommend taking a loan through this company. I took a loan for about $3600 In December 2015 to help cover holiday expenses which was scheduled to mature in 3 years. After making on time payments for 6 months of $156 each months my balance was still $3200!! I called in to pay my loan off with my credit card (lower interest rate) but they would only allow me to pay through drafting my bank account I could only pay $160 (nearest $10) on my card. In July 2016 I made my scheduled monthly payment and an additional payment of $1600. I requested that this be applied to the premium of the loan; they wanted to apply it to future payments. You would think having done this that my monthly payment amount would be reduced but that it not the case, I still had $156 due in August. When I questioned this I was told my payment amount was fixed. My payment was due on the 7th (Sunday) and I received an email stating that my account would be drafted the following business day, when I called the 6th to put the payment on my credit card the representative told the request was sent to my bank Friday and approved. I told the representative that it wasn't supposed to happen until Monday Since it was the weekend there was nothing I could do to stop it. This action caused me to overdraft on my account. However when I called Monday they told me the payment was taken Monday. This was not the first time I received an extra charge with their screwy payment days and incorrectly conveyed information. Thankfully I was able to secure a line of credit elsewhere and be done with them for good. This company practices predatory lending practices; there are laws against this sort of thing. I will never use them again and I strongly urge others to look elsewhere to avoid the headache.

excellent service to all of our customers and take all feedback seriously. On February 23, 2016, you submitted an inquiry for credit at www.Avant.com. You were pre-approved for a loan from WebBank via the Avant Platform, pending final verification. Please note, the loan request process clearly discloses that loan funding is subject to final verification of the information submitted. You subsequently contacted Avant regarding an e-mail verification step of the loan request process. The Avant representative correctly informed you that, other than the email verification step, there was no further action required from you at that time.Later that same day, upon review of your loan request, Avant determined that additional verification of the income you claimed was required. Accordingly, an Avant representative contacted you requesting documentation of your claimed income. You subsequently e-mailed Avant and requested your bank account information be removed, and requested that Avant no longer contact you via phone or e-mail. Please be advised that federal regulations under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) require Avant to keep all applicant information, including bank account information, for a minimum of 25 months.
