Final Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/06/10) */
Dear [redacted],
We are in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com (Case #XXXXXXXX). We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your customer experience with Avant. Here at Avant we pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service to all of our customers and take all feedback seriously.
Our records indicate that you submitted an inquiry for credit with Avant on February 24, 2015. Later that day, you signed your loan agreement and were approved for a loan in the amount of $6,000. Please be advised that the terms of your installment loan, were clearly and fully disclosed during the application process, as well as on your loan agreement prior to signing.
Based on a thorough investigation, Avant has found that at no time were you informed that interest would be waived if your loan was paid in full before the end of your loan term. Interest accrues on a daily basis and, while you will not be responsible for the full finance charge if you pay your loan off early, you will be responsible for any interest that has accrued up to that date. Additionally, please be advised that our system was experiencing an isolated issue during the time that you were given the payoff quote for April 27, 2015 in the amount of $5,686.99. That said, the payoff quote given to you for May 11, 2015 in the amount of $5,918.75 was correct. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
On May 14, 2015, you contacted Avant telephonically to make a payment via debit card. During this call, you were informed that payments made via [redacted] remotely created check, paper check, or money order, can be made for any amount, including an amount above your installment amount.
We trust this resolves this matter to your satisfaction. Here at Avant we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted]@Avant.com. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
Sincerely,
Avant Compliance Department

I totally agree with the complaints and comments of the customers. AVANT is not a good nor positive loan company. I applied for a loan in June 2015 for $4000 and my payment is $270.05 a month and only $631.00 has been credited to the loan (principal), Be aware of applying for a loan from them, Read the fine print before you sign/submit. By the end of loan I would have paid over $15000 plus. Will not happen!!!

Dear [redacted],
We are in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com (Case # XXXXXXXX). We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your experience. Here at Avant we pride ourselves in providing excellent...

customer service to all of our customers and take all feedback seriously.
We have reviewed the account and determined that on March 22, 2015, an online request for a loan was submitted with your information. That same day, the loan was approved and funds were deposited into the bank account on file on or about March 24, 2015.
On April 8, 2015, you contacted Avant telephonically and filed an identity theft claim. Here at Avant, we take allegations of fraud very seriously. In order to begin a thorough fraud investigation, an individual must submit a written request including proof of identity and an executed FTC Identity Theft Affidavit. If the account in question has been funded, an individual must also submit a law enforcement report or an IC3 referral form.
Your account was immediately escalated to the fraud department. Later that same day, an e-mail outlining the fraud investigation process along with a FTC identity theft affidavit was sent to the e-mail address provided by you.
On April 16, 2015, you submitted a completed affidavit and advised that you were unable to retrieve a full copy of a police report. That same day, you were informed via e-mail that a law enforcement report was required to complete the investigation.
On April 20, 2015, Avant received a subpoena from Detective [redacted], requesting additional information regarding your account to assist in his investigation. On May 6, 2015, the information requested was sent to Detective[redacted].
On June 8, 2015, you contacted Avant regarding the open identity theft investigation. On June 10, 2015, Avant responded to your inquiry via e-mail and requested that you submit either a law enforcement report or a copy of an IC3 form to complete the investigation. On July 7, 2015, you contacted Avant telephonically to discuss the IC3 form process.
On July 21, 2015, Avant received your completed IC3 referral form. Accordingly, the account on file was updated and notice was sent to the relevant credit bureaus to remove the tradeline from your credit report.
We trust this explanation resolves this matter. Here at Avant we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted]@Avant.com. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
Sincerely,
Avant Compliance Department

I have had the worst experience with Avant Credit Corporation. I am a repeat customer and have been told lie after lie over the course of the last week. I applied for a new loan 6 days ago. First I was told they had all of the information they needed and then suddenly they didn't. It took two days of going back and forth, talking to managers etc. After days of that I was assured that my loan would be processed within 24 hours. It has been since Thursday that I was told that and since Friday there has been a "technical glitch" holding up the process. That was after earlier in the day Friday I was told that everything was all set and I should be funded that day. Saturday I was told that IT was working on the problem right then. Today,Sunday, I was told IT doesn't work on weekends. I have called and been disconnected at least 10 times. I don't feel like anything said by this company is the truth anymore.

and take all feedback seriously.According to our records, On July, 1, 2014, you submitted an inquiry for credit from [redacted] via the Avant Platform. On July 2, 2014, Avant approved your loan request and you executed a loan agreement for a loan in the amount of $2,000.00.On May 6, 2015, you contacted Avant via e-mail and requested to be opted out of ACH payments. Avant updated your account accordingly that same day.On June 8, 2015, you contacted Avant in order to defer your June installment until after your final scheduled installment payment. Avant honored your request and your installment originally due on June 12, 2015, was deferred until August 7, 2015. On July 1, 2015, you contacted Avant telephonically in order utilize a grace period and defer your installment from July 7, 2015 to July 10, 2015. Avant honored your request and your payment was deferred. On July 10, 2015, and August 7, 2015, you failed to make your scheduled monthly installment payments. As a result, your account fell into a “late” status. On October 5, 2015, Avant notified you via e-mail that your account was past due in the amount of $485.63. That same day, you scheduled two payments in the amount of $242.82 and $242.81 to be debited on October 16, 2015 and October 30, 2015, respectively. After reviewing your account, Avant determined the remaining balance on your account is accurate. Please be advised, per your loan agreement, interest accrues on the principal balance of your loan. By utilizing multiple courtesy payment deferments, additional interest accrued on your outstanding principal balance. Additionally, Avant has confirmed that at no time were you informed that your account was paid in full. In order to satisfy your agreement in full, please contact Avant Customer Support at 800-712-5407. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. Dear [redacted],
We were recently notified of your complaint regarding your revolving credit line...

with AvantCredit. The monthly minimum payment for this particular product is fully disclosed on the Company website, during the application process, and is detailed within your account agreement. Per your account agreement, the minimum monthly payment due will equal 1% of your outstanding principal at the end of each billing cycle plus the minimum charge, unpaid interest charge due for that billing cycle plus any late payment fees and returned payment fees. We have reached out in an effort to discuss possible payment arrangements despite the accuracy of the current monthly minimum due. Please contact our Compliance Department directly.

all of our customers and take all feedback seriously. As you are aware, you contacted Avant via telephone on June 21, 2016 in an attempt to update your bank account. During this call, the Customer Support representative correctly informed you that documentation is required to update the bank account on file. The representative emailed you instructions for how to submit acceptable documentation. You were advised that you could schedule payments via credit or debit card while your bank account on file was being updated. The Customer Support representative offered you the option to utilize a grace period movement for your installment payment scheduled June 24, 2016, to allow additional time for your bank account to be updated. At this time, you authorized the movement of your June 24, 2016 installment payment to June 28, 2016. Per your loan agreement, you have the ability to opt out of recurring ACH payments by providing written notice. As no such notice was received prior to your updated installment payment date of June 28, 2016, a payment from the bank account on file was attempted as agreed. On June 30, 2016, the installment payment returned due to insufficient funds. Please note, your loan agreement clearly states that a Dishonored Payment Fee of $15.00 will be assessed each time a scheduled payment returns. Accordingly, a Dishonored Payment Fee was correctly applied to your account. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted] We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Sincerely,Avant Compliance Department

all of our customers and take all feedback seriously. On June 29, 2016, you submitted an inquiry for credit via the Avant platform. You entered into a pre-approved status based upon the information you submitted. Please be advised, this process clearly discloses that rates and terms are subject to verification of the information you provide. In order to verify the income you claimed during your loan request, you provided Avant with tax documentation. On July 7, 2016, upon evaluation of the documents you provided, Avant determined that it could not verify the full amount of income that you had claimed. Accordingly, the rates and terms you were initially offered were invalidated. Based off of the information you provided, you did not qualify for adjusted rates and terms. However, in order to provide you with the opportunity to verify additional sources of income, your loan request remained open.  Following the invalidation of your initial terms, you were sent emails inviting you to sign a new pre-approved loan agreement. This email is sent to all customers with open loan requests who do not have a signed loan agreement on file. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Please note that these emails disclose that final approval may be subject to verification checks such as identity and income. As you are aware, no additional sources of income were verified following submission of your tax documentation. On July 10, 2016, Avant sent you a notice informing you that your application had expired. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [email protected]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. all of our customers and take all feedback seriously. As you are aware, a paper check payment in the amount of $17,026.00 was received by Avant on November 23, 2016 to pay off your WebBank loan issued through the Avant Platform. WebBank is the credit issuer for the Avant Platform, a closed-end installment loan program, where Avant acts as the administrator and servicer of the program. Please be advised that there was a delay in applying this payment to your account due to an issue with our paper check processing service. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused. As your account reflected a balance during this delay, it remained open and, as a result, your November 30, 2016 installment payment was debited automatically from the bank account on file, per the ACH authorization you provided in your loan agreement. On December 6, 2016, this installment payment returned with a return code of [R07] which indicates that the account-holder informed the bank that the authorization for payments had been revoked. As a result, the bank account associated with your loan was marked as an invalid account and no further attempts to debit that account were made.On December 7, 2016, your paper check payment was applied to your account with an effective date of November 23, 2016. Please be advised that your account balance effective November 23, 2016 was $16,483.57. Accordingly, a refund in the amount of $542.43 has been approved for overpayment of your loan balance. Due to the fact that your bank account has been marked as invalid following the returned November 30, 2016 payment, this refund was issued via paper check and mailed to the address associated with your account on December 23, 2016. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [email protected]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Dear [redacted], We are in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com (Complaint ID # [redacted]. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your customer experience. At Avant, we pride ourselves in providing excellent service to...

all of our customers and take all feedback seriously.According to our records, on June 3, 2014, you initiated an inquiry for credit and signed an account agreement with Avant Credit of Maryland, LLC (“Avant”), agreeing to the rates and terms of a proposed credit line. On June 12, 2014, your line of credit was approved. Accordingly, funds were issued to the bank account on file on or about June 13, 2014.On May 17, 2016, a payment was attempted from the bank account on file for the minimum payment due for that month, as defined in the account agreement. This payment returned on May 18, 2016. The return code for this payment indicated that insufficient funds were available to satisfy the payment that was attempted. On June 2, 2016, you contacted Avant in an effort to update your bank account. Your bank account was updated during this call. In order to verify the bank account you provided was a personal checking or savings account in your name, Avant advised you that documentation such as a voided check or bank statement was required. Additionally, Avant informed you that payments could be scheduled from the updated bank account at that time. Please note, per your account agreement, a late fee will be assessed to your account if the monthly minimum payment due is not made within fifteen (15) days of its payment due date. As your May 17, 2016 payment was not made within this time frame, a late fee was assessed to your account on June 2, 2016.      On June 3, 2016, your periodic statement for the month of May was sent to you via email. This statement detailed your account status through May 31, 2016. Accordingly, it did not include the fee assessed on June 2, 2016. This statement listed the upcoming minimum payment due, effective May 31, 2016, as $988.93. On June 15, 2015, you contacted Avant telephonically. During this call, Avant confirmed that the bank account on file had been updated. Once again, Avant informed you that addition documentation would still be required to verify the updated bank account information. You provided a bank statement during this call to satisfy this requirement. On June 17, 2016, the minimum payment due was debited from the bank account on file as agreed. Please note, per your credit line agreement, the minimum payment due each billing cycle will equal the interest accrued during the billing cycle, an amortized portion of the cash advance fees, a percentage of the outstanding principal balance as detailed in the agreement, and any late payment fees and returned payment fees. Accordingly, the minimum payment debited from your account included the late fee assessed June 2, 2016, making the total minimum payment due, effective June 17, 2016, equal to $1,030.28.Per the ACH authorization you provided in your credit line agreement, you authorized Avant to automatically debit the minimum payment due on each scheduled payment date. Additionally, you further authorized Avant to initiate separate electronic debits for any applicable late charge or returned payment fee, as detailed in the agreement. On June 18, 2016 and June 19, 2016, you contacted Avant via telephone disputing your authorization for the late fee to be included in the minimum payment due for the payment processed on June 17, 2016. During these calls, you also requested copies of your monthly statements for the past year. On June 20, 2016, you contacted Avant via email to dispute the debited amount. You also provided notice that you revoked your ACH authorization. Your account was updated accordingly. That same day, a written explanation was provided of the assessed fee and calculation of the minimum payment due for June 17, 2016, as defined by your line of credit agreement. On August 19, 2016, in accordance with the “Desired Settlement” as listed in your Revdex.com complaint, copies of the monthly statements that were initially provided via email from June 2015 through May 2016 were once again sent to the email address on file for your account. Please note that the minimum payment due as listed in each of these statements may have increased prior to the upcoming monthly payment due date if additional fees were assessed to your account. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. We are confident we comply with all applicable state and federal rules, laws, and regulations. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Sincerely,Avant Compliance Department

Dear [redacted],
We apologize for the delay in our response. We take claims of identity theft very...

seriously and have strict internal policies which may have caused some of your frustration. As with any notice of ID theft, the account was immediately notated of the claim eliminating any chance of funding. As a matter of practice we will review current protocol when handling such cases. Again, the application was denied, account marked fraudulent, and the respective credit bureau was notified of the same.
Sincerely,

all of our customers and take all feedback seriously. As you are aware, on August 3, 2016, you initiated a loan request via the Avant Platform. Please note that WebBank is the credit issuer for the Avant Platform, a closed-end installment loan program, where Avant operates as the administrator and servicer of the program. You were presented with options for loans, and selected a $13,200.00 WebBank loan with a 36-month term and a 35.95% Annual Percentage Rate (“APR”). Your loan request was subsequently approved, and you signed a loan agreement detailing the full terms of the WebBank loan on August 4, 2016. The rates and terms of your loan were clearly and fully disclosed on the company website, during the loan request process, and in your loan agreement. Please note, the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (“SCRA”) provides a limit for the maximum rate of interest that can be charged for debts incurred before military service. To qualify for the reduced interest rate for your installment loan serviced by Avant under the SCRA, you would need to have entered into the loan agreement prior to being placed on active duty military service. On October 12, 2016, you contacted Avant to request relief under the SCRA and provided documentation regarding deployment orders. Following receipt of this request, Avant reviewed the Department of Defense Manpower Data Center (“DMDC”) to determine the start date of your active duty status. Per the DMDC, your active duty status began on July 8, 2016. The DMDC report indicates that you were already on active duty status when you initiated your loan request and agreed to the rates and terms of your installment loan. Accordingly, Avant determined that you do not qualify for a reduction of your APR under the SCRA. Avant contacted you via email on October 17, 2016, and informed you of this determination. If you find that you are having difficulty making your payments, please do not hesitate to contact Customer Support at [redacted] or at [redacted] to discuss your various repayment options. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. I applied for loan on October 8, 2015. I was informed by Avant that I was approved for $12300. I provided all of the requested documents, and communicated by phone 4 or 5 times. I actually spent over 4 hours on hold between 10/8/15 and 10/15/15, and I was even disconnected on one occasion, after being on hold for nearly an hour. Avant's customer service representative was kind and thorough in handling my questions, but there wasn't any follow through from Avant.
On 10/15/15, I was informed my application expired, and a new loan application was activated. The new application was activated when I logged on to my account to check my status because a contract required my signature was on my screen, and I wasn't able to navigate on my account, without signing the contract. I was not aware the contract was for a new application, and I was not aware my original contract had expired.
Due to Avant being in possession of documents containing my personal and financial information, on 11/5/15, I logged on to my Avant account to verify there has not been any activity on it. On 11/6/15, I received an e-mail from Avant stating I applied for a loan on 11/5/15, and it was declined. I did NOT apply for another loan on 11/5/15, nor will I ever apply for a loan from Avant.
Based on information I located on the internet, Avant is rated four and a half stars out of five stars in comparison to other lenders, but my experience with Avant did not reflect the practices of a company worthy of a positive review. In my opinion, Avant was misleading, and their customer service was deplorable. In addition, I am now concerned about the possibility of fraudulent use of my personal and financial information due to the notification stating that I applied for a loan on 11/5/15, when I did not apply for another loan.
I e-mailed my complaint to Avant, and they replied, informing me they deactivated my account, and they referred me to their privacy policy regarding my concern about my financial information. Although my complaint to Avant was handled, it should still be noted that their methods are suspicious, and their communication is painfully time consuming.

I am very disappointed in your company…first I applied for a loan for $10000.00 that was approved. But because I didn’t jump right on that, it was lowered to half without reason or rhyme as to why, the new loan of half with a payment amount of about $300.00 a month which I can pay easily with no problems... your system is horrible, I couldn't get my bank statements to upload... It took 4 whole days of me jumping through hoops of collecting information. I then got an email saying my loan was approved and that I should have funds deposited into my account within 48 hours. The very next day, I got another email saying that I needed to call the verification team. because now you needed 3 months of statements and I needed to confirm I am me. Then, after jumping through even more hoops and wasting more of my time, sending in the additional information. I got an email today that you are unable to approve my loan at this time which sadly disappointed me! But what strikes me odd, is if I want a letter as to why the loan was not approved, I need waste more of my time to write avant a letter requesting to receive the loan denial letter. I’ve never heard of such a thing.
I think that this is a ridiculous and poor decision on your company's behalf!! You just lost a loyal customer that would have gone on to recommend others to you as well. but now, I plan to put the word out that this has happened to all my friends, cohorts, clients, the person in the supermarket and nail salons, of the bad experience I have had with avant and for them to not deal with your company ever.
Lost customer forever
