I feel that California Family Fitness steals money from peopleWhen I went to cancel my membership they tried to take another months dues out the INSTANT I went there to cancelThe date that the monthly fees were due at the SAME day EVERY SINGLE MONTH FOR YEARS!! I still had weeks to go before the fee was dueTHANK GOD I went to my bank to cancel my ATM card and reissued another oneOtherwise they would've stolen $out of my account
Also they allow children to run around and play on the equipment with no supervisionWitnessed several times children running around the pool
When we were having the water shortage the Cal Fit on Fair Oaks had multiple showers that would constantly run waterYou couldn't turn it off all the wayI emailed them several times about this issue and as far as I know they still haven't fixed itAll the times that I would go (I went to times a week) water would always be coming outI would guess that you could fill at least swimming pools with just the amount I saw
The equipment was either really old and beat up or it was out of order for weeks at a time
How they manage to sleep at night makes me wonder.??

After fulfilling one year of contract I tried to cancel the member ship, so, I called corporate numberThe rep I talked to told me that I need to go the branch in person & follow the cancellation processI went to the local branch and I was told that manager is not there but I could just send an email to cancel itI found an email address of the branch I was going to and I sent an email since I could not cancel by calling and visiting the local branch that I would like to freeze my membership for three monthsI also called my bank to stop payment to California Family FitnessBut I keep getting calls from California Family Fitness asking for paymentSo, I visited other local branch in Elk GroveI was told that the manager is busy with client and waited for a while then I came to know the manager was either gone for the day or still busy with other clientThen I asked rep to freeze my account for three monthsBut in the mean time I keep getting calls from corporate office telling me to pay the duesI was harassed by collection department of California Fitness her name is LolitaI even asked her why they are harassing me by calling to pay the duesLolita told me that she is with collection team and she doesn't know the story all she knows is that I have not paid the duesI told her that since November of I have been trying to cancel the membership but I was told to go to local branch and local branch told me to call corporate office or send an emailI was told to go back & forth between corporate office and local branch and here Lolita kept calling meI felt being harassed by California FitnessBut no positive response from the rep - LolitaI felt like it's been a rip offIs it how they treat customers? Once you sign up with them, there is no way out it seemed like and even if you do not want to use it, but they keep billing you and keep calling to payWhat a rip-off?

In May, my wife contacted California Family Fitness to cancel our long-standing (year) account She was told by the staff that cancellation MUST be done in person at the Corporate Office My wife explained that we could not go to the corporate office to cancel the membership because their works hours(8am-5pm) are the same as ours, and ONLY then was an alternate way offered up: Go into a location and the local staff at the gym facility can help us cancel
My wife went to the Folsom location to cancel our membership, and the staff refused to do it, claiming AGAIN that it had to be done at the corporate office during business hours When she pushed back and said "your corporate office sent me here and said you would do it", the manager just shrugged and said "we don't do that here." I went to the California Family Fitness facility in Folsom on Friday, Jan 13, I wanted to obtain the free 7-day pass that is advertised on the CFF website: *** The offer says: "Get your day Free Trial today - no strings attached!"
It then mentions "MUST be years of age and a local resident."
Since I am over years of age, and I just moved to Folsom as a permanent resident -- so I thought I met all the criteria However -- despite their claim - -there are ADDITIONAL strings attached and limitations on this offer
As I informed ***, the CFF staff member who was assigned to discuss my request for a 7-day free pass, I had previously lived in Folsom from until During this period, I was a loyal, long-term paying customer of CFF I moved out of the area in and had not been a CFF member for the past eight years

Asked to cancel membership due to health

I recently sold my home in Arden Park and moved out of the areaWe joined Family Fitnes over ten years agoMy wife called twice to cancel the membership and was told some bt that only I cound cancel the membership even though we both signed the initial documentation Folsom
I have since called twice and tried to cancel I was told that I couldn"t cancel because I had to speak to *** ***
This has to be illegal
I switched banks so the ATM card that they have on file is no longer validConsequently they are billing me for two months of use and I haven;t stepped foot in their facility
Family Fitness tactics are truly shadyThey play all kinds of shenanigans with membershipIf youwhen you modify your membership they change your terms and don';t even tell you

I signed up for this gym but when I had signed up I asked the worker about any cancellation fees and that if I for some reason wanted to cancel it would I have to pay and he told me there was no cancellation fees that I can just freeze the account so I signed up and like months later I wasn’t able to keep going to the gym anymore so I canceled it and when I canceled it the guy that canceled didn’t tell me that there was a cancellation fee either but month later I get this mail for California fitness saying I need to pay a cancellation fee of $like none of the workers told me there was a cancellation fee it’s a fraud telling customers that there isn’t a cancellation fee yet when they think they canceled it they get a letter in the mail saying they have to pay a certain amount of cancellation

I have fell off the elipitcal 2x on a broken machine there should be signed I have given complaints after complaints I pay and I want my contract to be over without penalty the elipitcal got stuck in a cycle which cause my broken disc to swell up

I established a family membership with California Family Fitness years ago for a monthly fee of $The contract I signed stated this membership fee would remain at the same amount But as of the first of the year (2017) California Family Fitness recently raised my monthly fee to $They also were sneaky about it and did not inform me of the increaseI had to discover it on my monthly credit card bill (since I had automatic monthly debit set up to pay the membership fee)
I have called California Family Fitness twice in the past two months to try and resolve this issue and they never got back to meThe first call (3/24/2017) I spoke with *** and he said he would get back to me in a couple of daysThe second call (4/3/2017) I spoke to a billing person and she forwarded me to leave a message for ***'s manager "Summers" and she never returned my call

I was deliberately lied to in order to get me to sign up for a trial
I asked not once BUT TWICE if there was any obligation past the first month for 1$ and was told NO But there was, I was charged 85$ for a month after the first month trial period
Not to mention when I asked for customer service in person I was immediately confronted by nothing but unprofessional, rude, cocky individuals
EXCEPT FOR SerenaShe was the only one in that place that had the slightest clue what customer service was
They got me, but I will never let anyone I personally know sign up with this trash facility
*I never even went once and This is my first poor review or review in general for that matter, I have ever written online
