We did receive and email from [redacted] on April 25,2014 giving us a number to call him at. We did attempt but got voicemail. We received another email ion May 15,2014 asking for proof of debt. A copy of the itemized bill was sent on May 28,2014

Berks Credit & Collections on behalf of I & O Medical. On Monday, August 14, 2017 I contacted this company in Illinois to make them aware that, I was filing a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau in Iowa (per Consumer Finance Protection Bureau - Washington, D.C. - Office of the Attorney General), and that I was requesting ALL copies of financial statements with regards to my Worker's Compensation Case (05/11/2015 thru September, 2016 /final decision letter November 2016). To my surprise, the representative began reading statements that included a $800+ bill and for payment that the company had received from an insurance company, but never mentioned the name of the insurance company, all this information that was never made aware to me until today during my telephone call. I noted that, my call was not to inquire about payments but AGAIN, TO REQUEST ALL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS regarding their report to the three CREDIT BUREAUS. This company could not explain why amounts billed to me were different on ones billed to my Health Insurance Company, and why I was sent a bill from the Medical Vendor where services were provided said my balance owed was $40.00 that I paid in full, but re-billed me for amounts that were written off, as well as did not notify the credit bureau that I paid balance in full they requested me to pay. I am awaiting ALL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS to be filed with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, so that, they will serve justice for this terrible injustice that apparently has taken place. I was billed and charged interest during a two-year period while my Worker's Compensation was being heard. I await justice from this company so that it may serve as a lesson to all those experiencing a similar situation.

Review: On April 2 2014 I called Berks Collections to pay off debt that I owe. The first person I talked to was a lady named [redacted] I asked for her last name she told me she couldn't give it me. Well I asked [redacted] about the debt I owe she looked it up and she told me what I owe. I asked [redacted] if I pay off my debt can she delete the debt off my credit report [redacted] told me that she couldn't but the only thing they could do is to report the debt as paid in full to my credit report agencies. I asked [redacted] way can't she just delete the debt off my credit report. She said was it was against the law to delete anything off a credit report.

After that I asked [redacted] if I could speak to her supervisor and she said fine and out me on hold. After waiting for awhile on hold [redacted]'s supervisor was on the phone. I asked for his name he told me his name was Kurt. I asked for his last name he couldn't give it to me. Well I asked [redacted] if I pay off my debt can he delete the debt off my credit report. He told me the same they will only report it as paid in full. I asked [redacted] why he couldn't just delete the debt off my file. [redacted] told me that it is illegal for him to delete my debt off the credit report. I said to him really right there I knew [redacted] just lied to me due to I knew it wasn't illegal to erase a debt from the credit reports. After that I told [redacted] that I will call him back then hung up the phone.Desired Settlement: I will like Berks to Erase my debt off my credit reports in the next 30 days. If they say they would and they don't I will like monetary damages from them due to they broke the law for saying it was illegal for them to delete anything from my credit report.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I had set up an installment plan to pay off a large medical debt. I made the first payment by phone and asked that an updated invoice be sent so I could make future payments through my bank's bill pay system. The invoice was never sent however, when I tried to go online to make the payments directly to their website, I am told that my payment arrangement is in default and I cannot make a payment online. In the meantime, this is sitting on my credit record, preventing me from purchasing a house.

Review: Berks Credit and Collection has placed two negative entries on my credit report. They have adversely affected my ability to be approved for several types of loans/financing.

The two credit entries are for debts that have already been paid (to the original merchant, not Berks). Despite this, Berks refuses to remove the debt from my credit report. Additionally, it will not respond to repeated requests to remove the items from my credit report AND to send proof of debt (judgment, valid contract, etc).Desired Settlement: Remove the items from my credit report. Report the debt as paid. Cease attempts to collect this already paid debt. Possibly seeking compensation for damages resulting in the adverse items erroneously placed on my credit report.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response as follows:

No written evidence (notes of the alleged provider of medical care to support claim to my insurance carrier and my co-pay obligation) has been provided. This charge is invalid/duplicate per bc/bs and they are in process of reversing their wrong payment for this claim to the provider. This provider is an in network provider that contracted with bc/bs. Therefore, no co-pay is due from me as the provider billed additional services in error.

Review: On Sept 1, 2013, I discovered 2 "Non-payment" reports on my credit from Berks Credit and Collections - [redacted] in the amount of 137.00 and [redacted], in the amount of 91.00. Both bills were from the time period of 2009-2011 from [redacted] of [redacted], whose office staff failed to correctly record my billing address at the time of service, resulting in me not receiving bills notifying me of balances due. In this time, I was unable to be contacted by the original medical office or Berks Credit and Collections. When my mail was successfully diverted to my new address and I receive notice of the bills - I was told that I needed to pay them within time frame X or they would be reported to my credit agencies. After explaining this and making the payments, I received confirmation of payments and was told that these would not be reported to my credit agency. I provided an updated correct mailing address, as well as the apartment number of the previous address. I am asking that these be removed as a courtesy, after speaking with both [redacted] of [redacted], whose staff confirmed that they made an error in my address (leaving off the apartment number, resulting in the envelopes being returned or misfiled) but was forced to direct me to Berks Credit because the bills had already been automatically submitted to them, and to Berks Credit and Collections, who assured me that they would resolve the issue that had been created through clerical error. Please refer to the payments made in full (not "refusal to pay"), and consider correcting the error and removing them from my credit history, as initially discussed . This was agreed to by [redacted] of [redacted], who your company represents, in acknowledging that the error was initially theirs.Desired Settlement: Courtesy removal of both collection reports to all credit agencies.

Review: I was being harassed by this collection company over health bills that were turned over to them. I have paid this bill down completely. They never sent me updated statements. I finally wanted to clear my debt so I paid what I believed I owed on their online bill pay. However, I paid approximately 40 dollars too much. There online system also doesn't simply show how much you owe, and they force you to be only able to pay by $250 dollars minimum on health bills debt.

I have called them to make sure it was paid. They said they received my payment and was going to update this info with the credit agencies and send me a check for the amount over paid. They said on two occasions they would mail the check by the end of the week. However, it has been two months later and I never received a check. 40 dollars is not a lot of money, but when one is raising a family 40 extra dollars that I am owed goes a long way. They make their living harassing people for money and then they can't return money when they owe it to others. This is disrespectful and dishonest.

My account number with them was [redacted].Desired Settlement: A refund check of 40 dollars that was promised to me twice before from these people.

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: Berks Credit & Collections continues to call my phone number but I have no idea the person they are looking for who in on their collections list. I have requested the company directly and in writing to remove my phone number from my list, but Berks Credit & Collections continues to contact me looking for said persons. This is now becoming harassment as they continue to contact me.Desired Settlement: I would like for Revdex.com to abide by the established guidelines to remove erroneous phone number contact info from their database and to cease calling me. As I stated, the frequency of calls has gone beyond annoyance and is now harassment. I do not know or have any relation with anyone Berks Credit & Collections is looking for and keep telling the company and yet they continue to call me. very frustrating.

I have reviewed our system and **. [redacted]'s telephone number has been removed when he requested. In reviewing our calls we have had seven different accounts with his phone # attached. Unfortunately, if someone gives his # we have no way of knowing we have an incorrect # until we are notified. Again, as of today I do not have his # in my system.

Review: I recently paid a debt I had to this company. Prior to payment I requested a receipt that showed original creditor, amount of payment as well as final balance. I received a receipt from a company other than who the company represented themself to be and the receipt did not state the original creditor, business or Vendor name or the remaining or final balance. After several attempts to obtain the information requested I was put into a voicemail but never connected to a member of managment as requested.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a receipt or another acceptable proof of payment from the company. Preferably on letter head.

I never received a bill from this credit company or from the company they say they represent . there are 5 [redacted] in [redacted] all have different middle intials who says these are mine. we might use the same dr. and there could be a person that didn't enter the info right.Desired Settlement: take things off credit report . with an apology of what they did to my credit ...

Response:

Notification was mailed November 1,2012 and January 25,2013. I have requested itemeized charges so we can forward to [redacted] for review.

Review: This time last year (4/1/13), I applied for a mortgage, shocked that my application was denied, I checked my credit and discovered a collection account from Berks Credit and Collections from November 2012! FIVE months after the account had been listed on my credit account and I had still NOT received a dunning notice; mind you, failure to send timely dunning notice is a violation of FDCPA 809(a)! I had still not received any contact from Berks until I CONTACTED THEM (June 2013)! I tried to explain the situation to the woman on the phone, and offered to pay the account if it would be removed from my credit report (because, if you pay a collection within 30 days of receiving a dunning notice the account will not get listed on your report and I had NOT GOTTEN ANY NOTICE, just an unexpected whammo on my credit report). The woman on the phone told me that it was not possible to do that, and the account would only be marked paid in full if I paid. We ended the conversation at that. I sent a letter to Berks offering to pay this account for it's removal, but never heard back. I WANT TO PAY THIS! But I WILL NOT HAVE THIS ON MY CREDIT, my family and I need a home! I did not want to have to file a complaint with the Revdex.com, but I have not received any help from Berks with this matter.

Background: This bill was incurred when I saw the doctor while in college (fall 2010). The health center incorrectly charged my insurance several times, and by the time they got it right, my insurance denied the claim because it took them so long. I repeatedly spoke with the health center regarding this matter, and when I did not receive any more correspondence I assumed that they had it all sorted out. Only to be completely surprised by this almost 3 years later!

Please email, call or write as soon as possible, I hope that we can resolve this matter without any further holdup.

Thank you!Desired Settlement: I would like to pay you in full, and have this tradeline removed totally from my credit reports will the three main CRA's ([redacted], [redacted], and [redacted]). Please contact me, preferably by phone or email so that we can get this done asap! I have my debit card in hand, as long as you agree for the removal!

My other desired outcome would be for Berks Credit and Collections to send dunning notices out when they get collection accounts in... How can anyone pay you if they don't even know they owe you?

Have a great day!

Business

Response:

Under the FDCPA the initial Validation Notice must be sent within 5 days of intial contact with the debtor. Our intial contact was on June 25,2013 and our notification was mailed the next day. Once the bills are reconciled the Credit Bureaus will be updated

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: It was listed on my credit report in November 2012, therefore your initial contact was in November 2012. I contacted you after discovering the account on my report on June 25th, 2013, if a notice was mailed on June 26th, that means it's 7 months late. It is an unfair and irresponsible debt collection practice not to notify someone you are trying to collect a debt from. I had no reason to check my credit reports, if I wasn't trying to buy a truck (which I got anyway) I would have never known. It strikes me as though you do not take your business serious if you are unwilling to reach out to the people you are trying to collect from. You get more ants with honey than with vinegar, and judging by your Revdex.com rating, you have yet to understand that.

Review: Berks Credit & Collections have erroneously reported negative information on my credit report which has impacted the my families living situation. Berks is reporting a $30.00 collection for [redacted] . The account number in question BCCC [redacted] was paid on March 12, 2014 through [redacted]. The emailed receipt was sent to me on March 12, 2014. at 10:44:11 AM EDT. I have disputed this account with the credit bureaus and each time, they report that Berks verified the debt. I am a certified housing counselor and in order to maintain my job, I cannot have outstanding debts. If this matter is not resolved and my employment continues to be at risk, I will file suit with Berks for all loss , as a result of their incompetence and lack of professional ethics. I have tried to resolve this matter via telephone and their customer service staff suck to hell. I have made formal complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and will continue to do so until this matter is resolved.Desired Settlement: There is nothing that Berks can do for me except get this item removed from my report.

Review: I called BERKS CREDIT & COLLECTIONS after seeing something on my credit report, and they were completely rude and unhelpful.

I needed further information before determining how to proceed and they neither had the information nor would direct me to the company that requested they collect.Desired Settlement: BERKS or othe hospital provide the information I need on the medical charge:

- who was it (myself or someone in my family)

- when was the medical service and for what (broken bone?)

- did they submit the full amount to the health insurance company

etc.

Please find attached itemization from our Client. Please note that the itemization shows a payment on 07/26/13 so the bill is now Paid In full. As a courtesy I have requested deletion of our Trade Line from *., [redacted]'s Credit Bureau report.

Review: I have been paying a hospital bill in payments for a few months, Once I had it completely paid off I received a call for this collection company saying that I still owed over 400 Dollars to the hospital. I called the hospital just to make sure all of my payments went threw and they said my account was paid off and I did not owe them any more money. I called berks back and they said that they would talk to the hospital about it. About a week later berks called me back and said that the hospital said we still did owe money and we never finished paying, Once again we called the hospital who confirmed again that we did pay everything off, they also said that they never sent us to collections and that berks is not the collections agency that they use. We called the company back to tell them that the hospital had no record of sending us to collections and berks once again said they would call the hospital back. They still say that I owe them money and call me twice a day everyday about it. I feel I am being harassed by them. I do not owe any money and want them to stop calling me all the time.Desired Settlement: I want this company to stop calling me.

Regards,

Review: I did not receive a dunning notice regarding the account (before or after placing this on my credit report). Therefore, I wasn't given the opportunity to ask for validation of this debt. WV also requires collection agencies to be licensed in WV, in order to collect on debt. I called Berks, but only spoke with very rude representatives who were more worried about gathering information from me, than listening. I feel it is best to get another party involved to mediate this situation.Desired Settlement: I would like for Berks to delete this trade line from all three credit bureaus, and agree to send me a letter stating they have done so and will not sell/give this account to another collection agency. OR I would like for Berks to agree to accept the $93 payment and delete this trade line from all 3 bureaus (and provide a letter agreeing to such).

Review: Several years ago I took out payday loans...got behind, and with the help of an agency paid them all off. Since then I had 1 company call my elderly parents saying that they were on their way to arrest me so I called and paid an additional $1000, and 1 company called my husband and said that they were on their way to arrest him because I had listed him on my loan...I paid them $1000. Now today I get a call from a rude young lady stating that they are in the process of filing charges against my husband for a payday loan he took out...which is incorrect, I took it out! She said that it was over 4 years old. I asked her to please send out the information again as I never saw anything about this and she replied that they had sent it out before. I asked her what address that they sent it to and she refused to give me that information...I told her that we have moved and have recevied nothing in the past several years. I told her that everything had been paid back. She told me that she was going to mark it as a refusal to pay...I told her that was not the case, but I needed all of the information in writing so that I could confirm weither or not this loan had been paid. Again she said that she was going to mark it as a refusal and hung up on me! When I called back the call went to Berks Credit and Collection agency...not the sherrifs department that she said that she was with!

She refused to provide me with the exact amount of the initial loan, the name of the people that the loan was with, to verify the address that they were sending the information to, to provide anything in writing, to give me her name-extension-and address of where she was at! She refused to listen when I told her that all of the payday loans had been paid in full several years ago. She refused to accept the fact that it wasn't my husband that took out the loans it was me...and as stated before I took care of all of that.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to follow the fair debt policy, provide everything in writing, and stop contacting me or any member of my family. These kind of collection actions need to be stopped...this is harrasment.

Regards,

Ok so I will start off with not everyone is perfect. We all have our own flaws in life but I will never ever deal with Berks Credit & Collections again. I paid my bill late of course I'm a mother I have other unexpected things come up it always happens .So I finally get this billed paid I get the confirmation email I'm at $0 ...I'm so excited I call my doctor to make the appointment and they need to confirm its paid I say yes of course .I get the call back I still owe money I said that's impossible .I call berks and they said the same thing I was like no way and so I tell them I just made the payment they check they see it ...well what the website said and what they say I still owe money ...the website doesn't show the interest I lost my temper and more or less I talked to one guy who flat out insulted me by saying well if you had paid the bill you wouldn't of had interest add on ..that's when I demanded his boss and this guy was no better I agreed to pay this balance but I'm changing doctors and will never deal with this rude company again.

Review: Berks Credit and Collection sent us a routine notice in September 2014 they were attempting to collect " an overdue debt " owed to [redacted] in [redacted] Maryland for an office visit dated Sept 23, 2013. A written reply was sent to Berks disputing the charge for services never provided as stated even though the primary billing was erroneously paid by [redacted] for knee treatments never provided, We were being billed an additional $32 beyond our out of pocket co pay of $ 15 paid by me on that date. ,

We have been disputing the charges since Feb 2014 with the billing agent in [redacted], Md for the medical provider wherin they have a record of 3 phone conversations regarding the charge, but no responses were received in writing from the provider, We have written directly to the medical provider asking the charges be dropped, but again no written reply was received,

Subsequently, we answered Berks Collection in writing within their stated 30 day response time that this charge was disputed, but Berks has not responded to our written challenge, We itemized all of the prior phone conversations and provided them with a copy of the written dispute with the medical provider. Berks was given a complete copy of our file disputing the charge . BERkS has not responded .

Instead, this day (29 October), we received notification from our Equifax, our credit monitoring service that BERKS CREDIT AND COLLECTION files a collection complaint on 28 October with [redacted] Credit services in the amount of $ 42

This practice by BERKS is UNACCEPTABLE as we continue to dispute the charges. We are filing complaints with the Pennsylvania Dept of Consumer Protection or their counter part in the matter as well as seeking legal assistance as our credit reputation has now been damaged by BERKS.Desired Settlement: 1) Complete resolution of the original billing dispute.

2) Retraction of the claim with [redacted] Credit Services and reinstatement of good credit record

3) Formal written apology with this questionable business practice.
