Big O Tires Reviews (267)

I received the eamil from big o tire and do not understand what person who wrote the email is trying to say. Who ever wrote this email, is trying to miss lead the reader. As for my diving, I take very good care of my vehicle, its hardly ever used, and keep well maintain. So when I had the tire replace at discount tire in las vegas, nv, I made sure to have the wheel alignment as soon I could. So I took it to big o tire to have them just do the wheel alignment. Then they, came out that I need this and that. Machines tend to target, women, men in three pic suit, and older people that’s is how they make their money. The tire place was negligence in not performing their job as they should have by stripping two of the bolts and handing the keys to me. I have been working on cars since I was threaten years old, and have a degree in the automotive industry. And CAN NOT do the wheel alignment since I do not have the wheel alignment racket so therefor I took it to big o tire for the wheel alignment. I tried to resolve this issue with Mr. O[redacted] but had no luck with him and was very hostel towards me at his shop. By giving me the middle finger and tiling me to get the fk out his shop. All I am sicking is my full refund, the sum of $166.00 plus taxs I would NOT recommend this shop to anyone, and would pull their license away. Does one wait until someone gets kill before any action is taken.

Revdex.com:I feel the complaint has been resolved. It has been two months i've been without my car. They replaced my engine with a used one with 10,000 more mile.
I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference t[redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The repair...

was made, I do hope that this is made public, as this has been the most frustrating experience I have ever had with a mechanic. The very first sign of residue inside this mirror happened immediately upon picking it up. I have owned this vehicle for two years and my brother in law for 7 years before that, so I am certain that the silicone he is blaming on me was not there before. [redacted], and I do not inter to return to this Big O Tires at any time.
[redacted]
[redacted]

This was a special order wheel from back east.  There was @ a $200.00 deposit.  This was non refundable and non returnable.  The consumer found a used tire for less money.  On the consumer's receipt was printing a 25% restocking fee.  I honored this and refunded 75%.

I met with Ms. [redacted] on July 3, 2015 at the [redacted] location and the issue has been resolved.
Best regards,
[redacted]

Again I state that we did nothing to make her clutch go bad. There was a problem with it when she brought it in and she stated that when she dropped it off.I will offer a good will offer of $200.00 This is my one and only offer. I feel I am being more than fair with this situation.

I just wanted to bring to the attention of the Revdex.com that Mr. [redacted] submitted a review the prior day which is the same as this complaint.  We did respond to the review and that response would also apply to this complaint. In additon, [redacted], owner of the Big O Tire store, called...

Mr. [redacted] today.  Mr. [redacted] did apologize to Mr. [redacted] for any bad experience he had in the store and for not getting back to him sooner.  He reitierated that Big O did not take his battery from him and replace it with a bad battery and that we would never do that to him or to any customer.  Mr. [redacted] did say he was unsure of where he purchased the battery, but the [redacted] part store did  replace their battery, which was under warranty,  for him at no charge.  There seems to have been some confusion about the battery, but we hope that it has been cleared up.

[redacted] was in 1/27/14, she brought her own tire in and we did a tire

installation which involves taking the tire off the...

vehicle (undoing the lug

nuts that hold the wheel to the brake rotor) dismounting the tire and replacing

it with the tire she supplied, balancing the tire on a computer balancer,

placing the wheel and tire assemble back on the vehicle and retightening the

lug nuts to the proper torque specification.

Replacing

a wheel and tire assemble has nothing to do with a vehicles inner and outer tie

rods, they are part of the steering suspension that are under the vehicle. The

jam nuts that were loose are

there for wheel alignment.

We were

not under the vehicle, nor would we have any reason to be under the vehicle as

[redacted] showed up at our business when we were closed and ask if we could

replace her tire we agreed to help her so the car was driven to the tire bay

and one wheel was lifted with a floor jack so we could change the tire.

As for the mechanic that said that the loose jam nuts could have caused

the tie rod to go bad maybe

right. We called the business were the service was done, they were under the

impression we had done suspension work after being told all we did was change a

tire they agreed that the service we preformed had nothing to do with her

problem.

I hope this brings more light to this situation as we have tried to

explain this to her. Please

let me know if there is any other information you need.

Best regards, [redacted]

OUTSTANDING...

INVOICES: #[redacted] FOR $147.62 & #[redacted] FOR $528.71 OR TOTAL DUE OF $676.33.  THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE COMPANY HAS SAID A CHECK HAS BEEN ISSUED TO COVER THE AMOUNT DUE.  WHEN A CHECK IS RECEIVED AND CLEARS, WE WILL CONSIDER THE COMPLAINT CLOSED.  THE CUSTOMER WAS ADVISED THE TIRE CHANGER MANUFACTURE WILL NOT COVER ANY PART DAMAGED DUE TO EXCESSIVE WATER IN THEIR AIR SYSTEM UNDER WARRANTY..  THE WATER FILTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER WAS OFFERED TO THE CUSTOMER BUT THEY REFUSED.  AN AFTERMARKET UNIT WAS INSTALLED BY THE CUSTOMER BUT DID NOT HANDLE THE WATER PROBLEM.  THE DAMAGED PARTS WERE CAUSED BY EXCESSIVE WATER AND WERE NOT COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER.  TLC EQUIPMENT SERVICE DID NOT REFUSE COVERAGE UNDER WARRANTY.  THE MANUFACTURER WAS ADVISED OF THE CONDITIONS AT THE SHOP AND STATED "NOT A WARRANTY COVERAGE."

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am not satisfied with the resolution because the business doesn't offer one.

Regards,[redacted]

The response from Big O Tires is entirely unsatisfactory. It focuses mostly on the price increase, which is not the main issue here but even so the respondent somehow manages to misrepresent that as well. As I clearly stated in my complaint, when I showed up at the store, the person said it was going to be $5 more per tire for an increase of $20. So, clearly the $130 quote was including tax and shop fees. But that's not the main point. The main thing is that the person employed by Big O I cited in my original complaint clearly acknowledged that it was damage to a couple of the wheels (I showed him that the previous damage was on only one wheel too, so that's a non-issue). That's why he said that his "wheel-guy" will call me directly to look at/fix the damage, which he repeats the next two times I contact him. The damage to my wheels and the lack of follow-through is the issue and that's why I am seeking compensation.

We have reviewed the information and the complaint again and the pictures that were submitted.  We clearly made a mistake by leaving the air duct hose off and the tool under the hood of the vehicle and we apologize for the error.  However, when the customer returned the following day to have us attach the hose, the customer's vehicle was not leaking nor did they complain of any leaks at that time.  If the oil filter or drain plug would have been left loose, the leaking would have certainly occured immediately after the oil change was performed.  The customer did not complain of the oil leaking until they were on their way to Heber or had arrived in Heber.  There were no leaks detected while the vehicle was at the Big O in Payson or after it was towed to the Big O in Tempe.  We are not doubting that the engine has a leak, but the leak is not the result of the oil change we performed.

This is my second response to this complaint. I did answer this immediately when the first one was sent to me.  When a vehicle pulls in to our store we do not automatically know what kind of oil it takes.   The same 0-20 oil can be purchase for $24.97 at [redacted].  [redacted] has more buying power than a little 2 bay oil shop, so there is no price break.   That does not include a premium oil filter which cost $5.95= $30.90.  We did the job for $39.95 (please see invoice minus Taxes and oil disposal). So the Tech that did the job makes $15.00 an hour.  We pay him a half hour labor $9.50plus matching fica .  As you can see there is not much profit in doing an oil change.  We offered as you can see in my letter that I wrote to Revdex.com back in July to do it for free.  When a customer complains about that... there is no pleasing That customer.  We will not put the wrong oil in any vehicle to save money, that would void the warranty and leave us liable.  I am sorry that we did not please [redacted],  but she was many miles past her oil change, we did try 3 times to call her, she said she did want it done before she left the car.

A check has been issued to resolve this matter. Even though it was a charge for something that should of been covered under our warranty. The machine that they worked on was still under warranty from the manufacture. They refused to cover the warranty and charged us.

[redacted] brought...

a 2006 [redacted]  with

105,293 miles into

Big 0 Tires on 12/07/2013 for a high mileage oil change . The

car was not brought in by Mr.[redacted]'s daughter .We

performed the oil change and noted

that the engine

oil was very dirty and the air filter was dirty. We recommended a new air filter and an oil additive treatment to help clean

the engine. He

purchased an air filter but declined the oil

additive treatment. Big 0 Tires adheres to a mandatory oil

change double check

policy. The lube technician performs

the oil change

but a second associate always

verifies that the oilfilter

is correct and tightenened, the drain

plug has been

marked,correctly tightenend and the correct

amount of oil has been added to the vehicle before leaving

the bay. This policy was followed and documented on this

vehicle .

On

March 7th, [redacted](?), the mother

of the daughter,said

the car had

been at [redacted] and they stated it

had no oil in it.

Later, the car was towed to Big 0 Tires. When we received

the car it had

107,289

miles on it and

it had more than 1 quart too much oil in it. We

found that that the oil filter we installed on 12/07/2013 was still on it

and it was

tight and not leaking and

the drain plug, which was marked, had not been touched

and was tight and not leaking. We

did not receive

any documentation from the BrakeMasters about

the condition of the car or the work they performed on 03/07/2014. We are uncertain

how they determined that no oil was in the car, because they did not appear to open the drain

plug to drain the oil out.

There is no way the car could have traveled

1,996 miles from 12/07/2013 to 03/07/2014 with no oil in the engine.

The engine would have seized almost immediately. Mr.[redacted] stated  in his complaint

that the vehicle had no previous conditions

and ran perfectly prior to 03/07/2014. However, [redacted] gave us a copy of the oil change and work that was performed by [redacted] on 09/12/2012.  They indicated

that the car was

leaking oil from the oil adapter housing

gasket and they did $312 in work to correct that leak. [redacted] also stated

that the engine may have other leaks. It appears that the engine had been leaking prior to

09/12/2012 and may have continued to have a leak which resulted in oil loss, consequently damaging

the engine.

This

is certainly an unfortunate incident,but

it appears to have been caused

from the vehicles history of oil leaks and not

the result of the oil change performed by Big 0 Tires. We have included copies of the 12/07/2013 work order and invoice and the 09/12/2012 receipt

from [redacted] which was

provided to us by [redacted].

Sincerely,

Big 0 Tires

My experience with Big O Tires is [redacted]: June 2015 I purchase $475 worth of new tires. The manager informs me I have an oil leak from the oil ascending unit. I tell him that that happened the last time I was in and that the engine was over filled with oil and oil was also spilled on the engine. Manager ignores me and I tell him I cannot afford the fix at this time and I had someone else cleaned up the oil. Then the tires are mounted and that will check the wheel alignment for free. The manager apparently makes fun of me due to everyone in the shop is laughing when I enter the shop. I’m asked to go see the wheel alignment guy. He shows me that one tire is out of alignment. The manager says $80.00 to fix this wheel. I tell him I cannot afford it. At this time I realize this is a scam since they should have done the wheel alignment before they mounted the tires if they were honest people. I pay for the tires and the receipt says wheel alignment declined by owner. This of course will give this manager the option to cancel the 60k tire warranty if they don’t make it to 60k. So this is a win win for this store manager. Now I go to get in the car and I notice they did not even clean off the new tires and when I start the car the air conditioner does not work! What a coincidence I’m now two for two with this shop. First time they over fill the engine and spill oil which ruins the oil meter and now the AC is broke. Again I go somewhere else for the repairs for obvious reason that this Big O store appears to be making work for them selves. Consumers beware! I thought you should know.

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,
I am responding in reference to claim # 1[redacted] Customer [redacted] came  into our location 10/15/2015. His original complaint was Brake noise and pulsation. After our technician test drove and diagnosed vehicle...

we recommended front brake rotors. The front Rotors were warped and were causing a vibration when applying on brakes. Customer agreed to have work done. After work was completed customer tried charging total of $347.16 on a Big O Credit card. Card was declined and customer claimed he had no other means of paying for work done. He asked if we would still release his car and that he would return with payment later that day. Customer never returned for payment. We tried calling him for a few days and then he finally responded stating that he would make ½ payment that Friday and pay the remainder of his balance in 2 weeks. Customer finally made both payments to satisfy his bill.Normally we do not let customers take their vehicle until it is paid for. Customer never complained about any problems with his brakes after work was done. This is the first complaint we received from customer. I am asking that this complaint be removed from our business and I will contact customer directly to address any brake issues he may be having. Warm regards,Big O Tires

[redacted] brought a 2008 Buick LaCrosse with 155,151 miles to Big O Tires in Tempe on June 2, 2014 for an oil change.  We did leave the air duct hose off by mistake and the car was brought back the next day and we reattached the hose.  The customer called from Heber a day later and...

said the oil was low and the car was leaking oil.  They took it to the Payson Big O Tires to have it checked.  Alfonso contacted [redacted], Tempe Manager, and told him the oil filter and the drain plug were tight and the vehicle was not leaking oil from either location.  The vehicle was not leaking while at the Big O Tires and they were not able to determine where the leak was coming from.  The customer then drove the car from Payson to 83rd Ave. in Phoenix.  The vehicle was towed back to the Big O Tires in Tempe on Friday the 6th.  The vehicle was put on the rack.  The oil filter and drain plug were tight.  The oil was again low and we added oil and put the car on the rack for 30-45 minutes.  The car did not leak while it was in the shop.  We showed the customer and told them the leak was not from the oil change because the oil filter and the drain plug were tight and we did not see any other leaks.  The man then became aggressive and attempted to  punch the manager, [redacted].  The police had to be called to escort them off the property.  The customer did not call or contact the store again after that.  The engine leak has nothing to do with the oil change and we were unable to determine the cause because it did not leak while in the shop in Payson or Tempe.  The leak may be coming from an engine seal.   The vehicle was in our store once before on 1/13/2014 for an oil change.  At that time we noted on the invoice that the check engine light was on and the vehicle had multiple engine codes that needed to be checked out.  We made recommendations for suspension and brake repairs, tires and to check the engine codes.  All services were declined at that time.  It appears that the engine may have had some previous issues prior to the oil change on 6/02/2014.

We are sorry to hear that Mr. [redacted] was not satisfied with the work done on 8/19/2015 on his Camaro.  Mr [redacted] purchased tires elsewhere and had them shipped to Big O Tires for us to install.  Apparently, he was quoted $130 for the installation.  According to the invoice he was...

charged $140 for the installation.  The additional $12.09 was for shop supplies  and sales tax. Those items would have been added to the $130 price also, so the actual difference was $10 or $2.50 per tire.  I'm not sure why he was charged $10 more unless it had something to do with the tire size, but we are sorry there was a discrepancy.  Our invoice from 8/19 indicates there was some damage to the wheels prior to the service so it is difficult for us to determine when they may have been damaged.  We would be happy to refund Mr. [redacted] the $152.09 he paid on 8/19 since he was not satisfied with the service he received.Sincerely,

Big O Tires
