Big O Tires Reviews (267)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
[redacted]

I just had my car serviced at Big OTires - Austin Bluffs and wanted to say thank you for the great service received. Employees were very professional. Thank you to [redacted] for your great customer service. I will come back and refer them to all my friends.

Mr. [redacted] had his oil changed at another facility. When Mr. [redacted] had brought his vehicle in he was informed the drain plug was leaking and had been striped. It was explained to Mr. [redacted] that the plugs are stripped when installed not when they are removed. He was given the option to have a rubber...

universal plug installed, he choose to do the universal rubber plug. These plugs are no way to be a long term repair. When Mr. [redacted] returned to have his oil changed on the 26th he was informed prior to the oil change service being done that the universal plug showed signs of leaking. Mr. [redacted] was informed that the long term fix was to replace the oil pan and secure the drain hole with the proper plug. Mr. [redacted] stated he did not have the money to do that type of repair. He was offered the repair at cost prior to contact with the Revdex.com. When Mr. [redacted] stated he was not in a position to pay the repairs he made it clear he would contact the Revdex.com. Mr. [redacted] was then called again the evening of the 26th and had it explained to him that we would like to retain him as a customer and would do the repair for half of the original estimate. M. [redacted] accepted the offer and scheduled the repair for July the 2nd. When the repairs were made Mr. [redacted] was informed his vehicle was also do for a fan belt replacement, that repair was also done for the cost of the belt only with no additional labor. We did ask Mr. [redacted] as well to go in and update his complaint to show it was resolved.

Ok I appreciate that you would bring a vehicle into our location and that you would assume that we would do the research to verify every install that customers bring in but we don't, it would make for unacceptable time table for both of us and a price for services, that you would not want to pay. We obviously are at an impasse- I want you to take some responsibility for your own product, and you want me to be responsible financially because you did not buy the correct parts to complete the service, something that possibly should have caught by one of the installers, but not by any means any thing he would be looking for. To the results, as we could argue about this all day, I will give a refund for exactly half of the total you paid us, said refund given on the basis that I still believe you to be at fault for not checking into your purchase, and you still believe we should know every wheel and lug combo on the planet simply by sight. If you agree you can visit the location with your credit card to have the refund posted on that card.

Avoid this store, very rude and snobby store manager will laugh at the customer after asking for a military discount, the store is in bad shape and might not be structurally sound, I had my front end alignment done here on my truck twice and they just couldn't get it right, I sat in this store for HOURS as the alignment tech screwed up TWO TIMES !! I ended up driving to the chevy dealer and they got my alignment done right.

just avoid this crappy store, this place will only WASTE your time. (Big O tires- don't even think about denying what happened)

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
There is still failure to make anything right. I would not want this mans business to touch my vehicle further so free oil changes do my family no good. This is a huge issue and I do not think the owner is taking this matter seriously.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

[redacted], I am responding to [redacted]'s complaint against our Big O Tires. [redacted] came into our store at 5:49pm 5/31/17,  authorized diagnostics and listed these concerns:1 - "lost power-battery light came on and saw smoke"2 - "turned off and restarted, now seems to be fine"3...

- "check for leaks"No check engine light on but had a stored code of [redacted] - Crash Shut-off was triggered-upper limit exceeded. We found a Crankshaft vent hose to be broken and disconnected, blowing oil/oil filled air on engine creating driveability issue with running rough. We had to remove the upper intake manifold to replace this hose. We contacted [redacted] for repairs and he declined initially and wanted it towed from our facility. We explained we had diagnostics invested and he decided to keep it at Big O. He authorized the repair of the vent hose but declined the engine air filter and the High Mileage oil change and free tire rotation. Repairs only. We replaced the hose and test drove the vehicle, vehicle ran well, no check engine lights on nor was there any excess oil leaking from underneath.  With this hose being cracked it had sprayed the engine and undercarriage with an oil mist but it was the only "leak" we saw at the time, nothing was pouring out of it.  Ignoring an oil leak would no benefit us as we are a repair shop that repairs vehicles to stay in business.  We also did not want to quote anything and everything due to having oil on it. We never want to over quote. In a effort to satisfy [redacted] as he was upset that his wife had authorized diagnostics we deleted the diagnostic charge of $119.99 AND we gave $128.79 as a discount, saving nearly $300. We are more than willing to look at the vehicle again to verify the leak and to make sure it's not run off. We also don't typically touch the other fluids under the hood when and oil change (with inspection) is not requested.  He did return and we did top off the requested fluids. I am happy to revisit this concern as we want our clients to be 100% satisfied. [redacted]Big O Tires - District Manager

Hi this [redacted] with the Big O tires in Shepherdsville Ky and am reaching out to you on behalf of [redacted]. Issues have been resolved and didnt know you guys have not been contacted...   [redacted] sent her vehical with two other men to have us look at it, they determined...

that they were un-happy with the used tires so we gave them a full refund toward doing new tires with a discount for their troubles.  They refused to pay for the work that had been done untill they got to test drive the vehical to check to make sure everything was okay.  Normally we dont let people leave without paying but we agreed that if one of the men stayed at the shop with us, then the other could test drive the vehical then come back and pay.  The man was gone for five to ten minutes then came back said everything was fine, thanked us, paid us then left and that is the last I had herd from them.  I hope this is enough to help you out thank you for your time if you have any other questions contact [redacted] at Big O thanks and have a great day!

Mrs. [redacted] vehicle was brought to our shop with a noise. We inspected her 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser and found the lower control arm bushings completely worn out, causing the control arms to rub against the frame of the vehicle. We informed her of the repairs needed and thought, because they were the only noticeably worn part, this would solve her noise. After the repairs were performed we test drove the vehicle and the noise was gone leaving us to believe this was the only repairs needed. When she brought the vehicle back we found no other obvious worn parts only a noise. We said we would NOT recommend to just start replacing parts to try and solve the noise. Mr. [redacted] stated he thought it was the struts. We told them with the number of miles on the car it would be a good idea to replace them, but we could not be sure this would solve the noise issue as there was no obvious sign they were making a noise. We offered a discount from regular price to do the repair. Mr. [redacted] chose to do the work himself. Our warranty states any repairs or alterations done to the suspension by any other person or facility voids the warranty to the alignment. We will be glad to re-align the vehicle for normal price. Initial Business Response /* (1000, 18, 2017/05/25) */
Good Morning [redacted],
My name is [redacted] I work for Moran Industries, who are the franchisor for Mr. Transmission. I have received the Revdex.com compliant for the Mr. Transmission/Milex that is independently owned and operated in Highland,...

IN, which I have attached. I wanted to make you aware that case #XXXXXXXX was an issue with the previous owner. The Highland, IN Mr. Transmission is being managed under another company until there is a new owner. I wanted to let you know that Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle is being repaired under warranty and planned to be ready for him to pick up by the end of this week.
Regards,
[redacted]
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 25, 2017/07/25) */
This case has not been resolved we have court on July 25,2017. After Court The judge will make the decision. I only had contact with [redacted] and I have never heard from the new owners, however they did not have a business license and it was applied for on May 25, 2017. The business license has the owner as [redacted] who is the owner of Moran Industries in Midlothian Illinois.

The customers original complaint was addressed on invoice [redacted] dated 11/9/2017 where we replaced a failed coolant recovery tank. 18 days later the customer came back complaining that the tank was still leaking and the car was losing coolant. At this time we pressure tested the system, a simple...

procedure where the radiator cap is removed and a hand pump is used to simulate the pressure build up in the cooling system that happens when the engine is at operating temperature, and there were no additional leaks apparent. The pressure test not only helps the technician to identify leaks in the cooling system on initial pressurization it is also used to watch for a drop in pressure over time which helps to diagnose a leak that may not be evident on the outside of the system such as a head gasket or intake manifold gasket that leaks into the combustion chamber of the engine. The customer did not return with a complaint after testing on 11/27/2017. Our next contact was from this Revdex.com complaint dated 03/20/2018 nearly 4 months later. It is our position that at the time of service the coolant leak was resolved and that sometime after that the cooling system experienced another failure. The 3.1 liter V6 engine that is in the customers car is well known to have problems with the composite intake manifold warping which creates a leak when the engine is at operating temperature, but may not be apparent when the engine is cool. I suspect this may be the problem in this case, but without first hand knowledge it is only speculation on my part based on my years of experience in the industry. Regardless if there were other coolant leak issues when we service this vehicle there would have been additional repairs necessary to address those problems at considerable cost to the customer. Based on the customer statement there is not an issue with the work that we performed failing, but that there is now additional service necessary to repair the cooling system. It is my position that we are not responsible for those issues and we will not be refunding the customer the money for the work performed in November of 2017.

My name is [redacted] I work for [redacted] Family of [redacted] We franchisor for the Mr. Transmission Brand. Each Mr. Transmission Service Center is independently owned and operated. [redacted] has no equity or ownership interest in any Mr....

Transmission location.
On June 1, 2017 I spoke with Mrs. [redacted]. She informed me that [redacted] owner of Mr. Transmission in Highland, IN and [redacted] the manager gave verbal authorization for rental reimbursement. She did not have an invoice from Enterprise or Mr. Transmission Repair Order. I explained to Mrs. [redacted] that each Mr. Transmission independently owned and operated and she would need to pursue independent owner. I directed her to the Secretary of State of Indiana Corporation Division, where she can find additional information to pursue the independent owner of Mr. Transmission of Highland.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They don't know who is representing their company??? They kicked [redacted] out of franchise
Final Business Response /* (4000, 21, 2017/07/31) */

[redacted], the independent owner and operator abandoned his business. Under the general warranty provisions, rental vehicles are not covered. According to the original complaint [redacted] gave verbal authorization. The responsibility falls to the owner of each independent Mr. Transmission service center. Therefore Mr/Mrs [redacted] would need to pursue [redacted] for any type of refund.

[redacted] brought his car in to have his tire repaired at our locations. It is our national policy that we do not repair any tire that has a leak outside of the last water siphon line in the tire. This is standard policy and enforced by our insurance company and along with read meateral and posters...

in our location. [redacted] did not like this and wanted us to patch it for him anyways. We refused to patch the tire due to puncture was outside the last water siphon strip within the tire. [redacted] found a tire shop that would. We will not put a customer or our shop at rick to repair a tire that we feel should not be repaired.

The terms of the promotion were clearly posted throughout the store. The advertising material in store along with all internet, radio and Television ads stated that you could earn up to a $210 rebate by using your Big O Tires Credit card. A copy of the promotion and the rebate form is attached for...

refference. In addition I am unclear on where the customer gathers the $190.00 amount that he is due? The promotion offered a $70 instant savings coupon (which was on his invoice see attached), a $70 mail in rebate through goodyear (which was up to the customer to submit), and an additional $70 rebate from Citi Bank when using the Big O Tires Credit card. So essitially he was given $70 at the time of purchase. The customer should have/or will receive the $70 rebate from Goodyear IF THE MAIL IN REBATE WAS SUBMITTED. The other rebate requied the purchase on the Big O Card.

I am rejecting this response because: My response is that I was signed up...

for a loan with out the interest rate being disclosed, only after I signed the contract did I get an interest rate at 147.12 %. The manager of the store signed me up with this finance company that has no affliation with Big O tires. I called Big O HQ and they are also investigating. I have an aditional issue with them not doing a good job fixing my truck which has issues now. I have attached images of my contract. Sincerely,        [redacted]
