Fraudulent type practice at Home DepotI am an older personI purchased a front door, side lights (both sides) and a good quality storm doorThat was in October of My total cost I paid (up front-mandatory) over $3,with installationIt took the manufacturer like weeks, then the one (yes one) installer took a couple of weeks off but could finally fit me in on January 13thTodayGreatFinallyHe even called and said he'd be here by 1:I took the day off work (jobs)The local(Birmingham, mi) store just called meThere is a defect in the door that was sentAre you kidding me? Why wasn't this checked right away? It's not something they doNow, I have to wait another 2-months, or more for the replacement doorHome Depot has had all that money all this timeThat is a fraudulent practice, horrible customer service, and I won't stop hereI plan to warn as many people as possible not to shop here for any products that need to be ordered or installed by their contractors

I am copying/pasting an email I sent to the Home Depot Corporate office regarding my concerns for my recent Home Depot Home Improvement project, specifically for granite countertops and backsplash installationSo far nothing has been done
RE: San Antonio HDI
1) Kari T*** (Home Depot consultant) - initial visit to my home regarding project
aI spoke with Kari about my desires for a new granite countertopShe sold me Home Depot's pitchI told her I'm relatively new in SA and my number one priority is professionalism - and that I've had poor experiences in the past with handymen and third parties in SA (for jobs at the house)She insisted that Home Depot takes pride in professional and guarantees 100% satisfactionI am an anesthesia resident at University Hospital in SA - and I work around 70-80hrs/wk and have around days off a monthKari assured me I would have nothing to worry about - the process would involve additional visits for measurements (after the initial visit) and a day for installing the projectLater I learn that it is in fact days of installment (countertops and backsplash) - so I was misinformed about thisHad I known, perhaps I would have opted for just the countertops out of convenience of time for me given my schedule
2) My third measurement was scheduled to be between 10am-1pm (something like that) by a guy named Manny with Stone WorksManny called me at noon, telling me he would be late - closer to 2pmThen he called again saying he would be closer to 4pmThen he called at 4:40pm, saying he was 20min awayUltimately I ended reschedulingIt is obviously very frustrating when you get days off a month - and you spend an entire day inside for someone to come take a measurement in you home for a project that was "sold to you as being convenient, done by professionals." I was frustratedCalled the HDI officeUltimately spoke with Desserae (manager for home depot?) and BenCalled 2x and left messagesI also called KariAt this point, this was a huge red flag to meI expressed my concern and was considering options to canceling the projectDesserae told me I would be subject to a feeJohn S*** the office manager called and apologized - I thought I would let it go and proceedNot surprisingly (likely since I was about to cancel the project), they expedited rescheduling the measurement by a gentleman named Jeremy for the following week in the evening when I would be off rather than month later
3) Jeremy arrived for the measurementWhen he gave me his drawing for review and asked for my signature, I knew something wasn't rightI asked him about the extended bar - and if he reviewed the Home Depot drawings by the HDI representatives (namely, Kari and Ben)Jeremy told me he doesn't have access to those drawings and doesn't see themThis again was a huge red flagI explain the best I can to him as I don't have the drawings done by HDI and sign offI later call Kari, Ben at the HDI office, as well as John with HDII express to them by concern for the measurement and plead with them to please double check everything to make sure the measurements are accurateI have voicemails still on my phone (messages that they left me) assuring me that they have double-checked everything and that there should not be any problemsPlease note here that as the customer that's 3+ phonecalls and different people I've spoken with at the HDI office to preclude any problems
4) Stone Systems counter top team arrives to install countertopThey work very efficiently and effectivelyThey let me know when they are done - and then I notice there is granite missing from behind my rstoneThey tell me that it was not a part of their measureI ask myself - why do I even go out of my way to preclude problems when the people I'm paying (HDI office) doesn't even care
5) For my project, the counter team took visits - because they incorrectly measured and the backsplash team took visits-because they did not look at the measurement closely enough - once they told me they were finished-I asked "what about these walls?" - turns out they were incorrect with their measurements and brought insufficient tilesAfter the team left, broken tile pieces and nail were on left my floor - easy for my dog to get to
6) I call the office 1/11/to tell them about the tiles and ask for an explanation for the countertops measurementA woman named Crystal picks up and tells me John S*** is unavailable but will call me backShe assures me however that she can help meI tell her everything and ask if she has an explanation and her response is (with no remorse) - "human error." It really hurt my feelingsI really don't know why I went through all this and paid so much more money to get something done through Home Depot if they don't even careI called Kari and John again - but no phone calls returnedObviously they are aware but don't feel the need to speak to the customer

I visited the home depot store Saturday a week ago today and purchased a door that was left by a customer that changed their mind on the productI asked the salesman to provide me with a Florida product approval number in order to pull my permit (keep in mind I am a permit tech for the county in other words it's what I do for a living I give out permits) and was assured that the number were on the doorI took his word for this is what he does for a living "salesman doors/Windows dept" When I get home after unloading the the door I look for all my tags and no Florida product approval numberSo I said okay this can't happen to me I tell my customers everyday call home depot and ask for the number easy as that right? Wrong? After that it was a hell of experience in obtain the number starting with the call to the front desk to the door department to the sales people and last but not least to the so called rude manager who try to intimidate me with his answers because I purchased a door that was returnedBottom line the manager put me on hold for min after all that n never came backWhat did I do I hung up the phobe and had to find my own information the information no one could find in the storeI want corporate to explain to me how and way thus happened to me a home owner not to mention to all the homeowners I deal with day in and day out that tell me they experience the same run aroundI had to experience it my self to understand the frustration caused by incompetent lazy un trained workersI have every name of the people I had to talk to at the store to try and get a number mandated by the state of Florida to provide at the building department in order to obtain a permit

This response is not directly about The Home Depot but it isI was upset when I called the customer service department about one of their third party vendors conduct. The fist call was to customer serviceThere was no follow up on their partThe second was to a managerHe took no initiative to look it upHe said I needed to look up the information the customer service person had looked up the night beforeThen he would relay it back to the third party vendorI needed to inform The Home Depot that the person representing their store was attempting to enter my home when my wife was home aloneHe came to the door asked for the wrong person and then stated the wrong addressMy wife was unaware that he was to arrive to give an estimate on a solar panel for the pool heatingAfter stating the wrong information, He returned to his vehicleWhen he came back he state the correct information and then tried to enter the homeMy wife had the door locked and would not let him inHe went back to his vehicle a second timeHe returned one last time and tried to enter the home again by pulling on the handle My wife then called the police but he left before they could arriveShe made a report still unsure who he wasShe called me I came home immediately and saw a message on my voicemail that he had left that he was there and was afraid that he had freighted the person at home which was not his intentionHe left this message for meI am deeply disturbed by his actionsI am writing this so that you may beware of The Home Depot associate business workersNot everyone carries the same level of professionalismEven it seems that Home depot is not set up to handle a call like thisThere is no protocol for anyone to be responsible for these kinds of reports at The Home Depot Beware!

I haven't written a negative review in years, but these exceptional circumstances calls for itLet's stick with just the facts and leave emotions out of it
In late November me and my wife ordered a fridge, a washer and a dryerBecause of the availability of the washer and dryer, the order would be split between two delivery datesBecause of the order being split, the sales person didn't ring up our discountWe went to the customer service desk and got that resolvedWe call to check the delivery date of the fridge (the product that we thought we had gotten resolved at the customer service desk) only to find that it was never re-scheduled for delivery (after about an hour on hold)
We took care of scheduling a delivery, but inquired about the washer and dryer delivery date as that was much later in the monthThe scheduling service informs us that we should call back every day to see if ordered are cancelled and try to grab an earlier delivery date, but assures us that the delivery will happen a week before previously estimatedFollowing up with the delivery service, to see if we could get it even sooner, we talk to someone new who says the washer and dryer will not be delivered sooner than estimated, and that the original delivery date is still in the booksWe complain about the experience, and they say they will grant a credit when the delivery is completed
Fridge was installed, and the ice maker never workedWe call and they say they will check the installation when they deliver the washer and dryerThey deliver the washer and dryer and check on the ice maker and say they need to order a new one (or so I thought)I try to call Home depot to check in on that credit, but nobody is returning my callsI decide that I don't care enough to proceed to deal with it, and I will be satisfied so long as I get a working Ice MakerCome to find out, that I need to purchase a new Ice Maker, and have a new delivery get done to install it
This has been an extremely negative experience for me, I would not recommend ordering any appliances through Home DepotIt's not 100% Home Depot, it's also who they choose to do business withThey don't keep promises, they misrepresent the facts, and are always an incredibly long wait to talk to

To whom this may concern,
I am writing this letter to let your corporation know how disappointed I am with the services of both the Home Depot flooring department in Simi Valley, CA along with the floor installer, ***
To sum it up, Home Depot truly hindered and made my moto my very first owned home an experience that I hope to forgetI cannot tell you how excited I was for my husband and I to fix up our new home and purchase new laminate floors and carpetUnfortunately, from the very start, we had nothing but problems when dealing with he Home Depot teamI am not one to point fingers at one individual, but from a team standpoint - a whole lot was done incorrectly and this is very upsetting
Here is an outline of issues encountered (that I can recall):
a) Measurements were taken at my home the first week of August
b) Measurements were not done correctly or in entirety (missed an entire room among other things), new measurements taken the second week of August.- setting us back an entire week
c) We go into the Simi Valley store to go over the measurements, the selected products and quote however our order was originally put in as all carpet (even in the kitchen and bathrooms) so we had to spend hours in the store getting the quote correctedItems were finally purchased on August 19thWe opened a home depot card and I was told by the associate that they would call that following Monday to try and get our purchase on months interest free financing vs the standard six months - still to this day never hear back on this
d) We waited to hear from the store to let us know when our laminate would be in so it could acclimate in our house - never heard a wordWe stopped by the store to purchase other items and were told by our cashier that we had items waiting for us to pick up - that being the laminateWould have been nice to have been called so we could start the acclimation process sooner
e) Home Depot lets the installer know that we have the materials and to schedule appointment - once the installers arrived, half a week later, they were unable to start the job because they were missing the transition pieces and the measuring person did not include the stairs leading to the living room and bedroom - we were set back another week and a half waiting for the new measurements and the special order pieces of laminate
f) In the mean time, we have our carpet upstairs installed along with the vinyl in the downstairs bathroom (after having a third measure because they forgot to add upstairs bathroom to the original order) the installer of the vinyl managed to break two of my toilets, one of which was never put back on and the toilet was left in the middle of my bedroom on the brand new carpetsI was told that "pieces broke during the install and I would need to have a plumber look at this"To this day, I am down to one working toilet out of three and I am awaiting a plumber which I now have to spend $per toilet
g) Last week I was told all materials came in for the floor, finally however the earliest the installer had was for Tuesday, Sept 20thI wait at home and no one shows (took time off work AGAIN) just to find out that the appointment was actually never scheduled as the manager of home depot had said - SO it was delayed until later in the afternoonCame home last night to it STILL not done because yet again, they are missing a transition pieceI currently have a huge space between the bathroom and the landing
After all of this trouble and over a month of hassle, disappointment, re-scheduled appointments, broken toilets, sub-par install job, and delays I have a whole whopping $back on my card for my troublesWhich is laughable considering I have almost $in toilet fees coming my way
I have been mad, sad, aggravated, missed work and many more disgruntled feelings and that is the LAST thing I should experience when spending over $thousand dollars with a vendorI am beside myself - and I can honestly say when this is done that I will never step foot in another home depot locationI thought by using a well known name vendor that I would get my money's worth and all I am left with is a bad experience, sour taste in my mouth and a lifetime of passing the word of my horrible time with it all
I hope my story will help your customer service and or training teams figure out a strategy in which others don't have to go through the same thing
Thank you for reading this and I hope someone finds it useful
Kind regards,

DON'T BUY A PATIO SET FROM THEM - THEY WON'T STAND BEHIND IT
Seriously, after only days, the supposedly *** cushions on our *** firepit set faded 35-40%, and there was rust on the supposedly all-aluminum firepit, and Depot was not willing to stand behind the set to our satisfactionEssentially, if you buy a patio set from Depot, be happy if it makes it days

I ordered a *** Washer and Dryer set at this store in September They have delivered them twice with damage, which I sent back both times!! I have had the HARDEST time getting Dillan ,the assistant manager of this store, or anyone else to follow up with me It is now November and I still have NO washer and dryer, have not been able to rent my property because of this and have lost out on thousands of dollars of income!! They offered to give me 10% off for the "inconvenience" and "think" they can be there by November 11th even though they told me it would be there by the 7th or 8th I AM DONE!! This has been the WORST customer service nightmare I have EVER had to deal with

On January 19, I purchased a Maytag clothing dryer and an accompanying year protection planRecently this dryer stopped working and when we called to have it serviced the technician came and told us that some internal components had rusted and the entire drum would need to be replacedNo problem, that's what we bought the hundred dollar protection plan for, right? WrongHe proceeded to tell us that because the problem was caused by rust it fell under the category of "cosmetic repair" and was not covered by our warrantyIn what way is the complete failure to operate "cosmetic"? I would understand if it was just a little rust on the bottom or some chipped paint, but the dryer will not function at all and home depot refuses to repair itI will never purchase a warranty (or anything for that matter) from home depot againIt is clear that this business has no concern for its customers once they've completed their transactionsThey have absolutely no integrity whatsoever and I would advise that nobody purchase anything from them

This is a letter I sent the CEO of Home Depot PROCEED WITH CAUTION WITH THEIR PROTECTION PLANS:
Mr***
I felt it necessary to take this opportunity to write to you about a serious issue with the Home Depot and the protection plan department I recently scheduled service for my *** dryer for Saturday, November 26th After rearranging my work schedule, I sat at home, waited and no one showed Upon calling the Home Depot Protection Plan department, I was told that they would reschedule the appointment for Tuesday, November 29th between and pm The Home Depot customer service representative put me on hold and told me she got a hold of the service contract company and assured me that they would definitely be at my home on Tuesday,November 29th
Once again, I rearranged my work schedule and sat at home for no one to show I decided to go online to review the company, ** Appliances and Repair out of Woodbridge, VA To no surprise, the reviews listed for this company on several web sites are less than favorable to say the least Had this been my first go around with this company, I wouldn't be writing you but considering this happened last year around this time with my previous dryer, I felt it necessary to contact you Exact same circumstances except the company didn't show for scheduled appointments
I contacted the Protection Plan department last night to request a different company to service my dryer I was told that in order to have my dryer serviced by a different company I have to wait two business days from someone from Home Depot to call me I'm confused...did I not pay for the warranty? In the Washington DC area, this is the ONLY company you contract to service appliances?
I think it would be wise for Home Depot to reconsider contracting ** Appliances and Service I will think long and hard before buying another appliance from Home Depot

We placed an order for special flooring that was supposed to arrive in early February- HD charged our charge cardWe still do not have the product and have now had different stories - all lies about when we will get the productThey are not wanting to give us our money back and are trying to sell us product we do not wantThey have delayed the completion of our bathroom refinishing for weeks nowWe are fighting them with our state Attorney General.Stay away from HD and go to *** instead

A lot of stores are stocking less items in their store, and more items online only In general I don't have a problem with this, but almost every order I've placed online with Home Depot has had problems I ordered a bathtub, and had the plumber scheduled for installation Home Depot cancelled my order, never notified me, nor refunded my money Calling customer service was useless; I ended up going into the store, and they called customer service, and spent more than an hour getting it straightened out I ordered sconces; of them arrived damaged I took it back to the store to return it, but they wouldn't order a replacement because it was back ordered I purchased these sconces on sale, and once they sale was over, they were miraculously back in stock, and I had to then order it at full price I ordered medicine cabinets that I was unable to use in my remodel I attempted twice to return these, only to be told they had no record of my order, and couldn't help me

In the past years that I have been doing business with Home Depot I have never been so impressed with the professionalism than I have observed and experienced during my Spring/Summer shopping at Home Depot The people there treated me well, and a unique lady in flooring took good care in guiding me into making some wise decisions from the onset of my projectThe Pioneer Hills location in Aurora, Colorado assisted and supported me in managing a 12,remodeling job I can not thank the employees and management of this Home Depot location enough Hats off to Home Depot and all of the employees at the Pioneer Hills Home Depot store

I went to homedepot store located Oxon hill Rd MD
Store manager's name is NickyI went to the store this morning and went in at 5:55amThe store was openedAfter, I went in to the store , the manager kicked me out from the store and said that it wasnt time to get inHowever, the doors were open to come inI came in early so I can rent the insulation machineI bought the materials I needed and then I went to the check out desk and no one was there to assistI asked the manager if she can help me, she refused toShe stated that the person who knows everything about this purchase came in at 7:00amSo I waited with the insulation items at the store waiting for someone to help meThe store manager was very unprofessional , unpleasant and at the same time she stated that didnt care about this bad reviewI felt unwelcome and ashamed at front of the other employees there when she kicked me outI have never been treated in a store like this

don't ever buy an appliance from home depot they lie about the hours and they will take care of you if there is a problemwhat they really mean is piss off

I purchased a corian countertop from home depot They had a contractor install itThey installed two different colors and made a seam that is visibly apparentI contacted Home depot who sent me a letter saying that nothings wrong with the structure so I have no claim then they sent a independent inspector who said clearly there is two colors and no one installs corian in a customers house like thatI want their product out of my home and a refundI am amazed at the inept system for these products and the poor quality of customer service when you have a problem so apparent as thisThis contractor should be fired for such practices as this
