April 6th, To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to Mr*** ***’s complaint #***The nature of Ms ***’s complaint is regarding the balance still owed due to the return of aid from her Spring term We are unable to award Ms*** any more funding for her Winter balance as she has reached her limit in subsidized funding and there is no additional aid to award her for that termThe amount that was over-awarded was in the amount sent her as a refundI have consulted with our financial aid processing team, and Federal Regulations prohibit us from awarding her any additional aid for the winter term, although she can reallocate up to $from her current spring aid We apologize for any confusion this situation may have caused Ms***, but the balance on her account is a result of her not informing us of the aid that was received at a previous institution this aid yearWe are unable to offer additional aid above the $indicated above, and Ms*** is responsible for returning the refund amount that was over-awarded to resolve her balanceIf Ms*** has further questions or concerns, she can reach out to our financial aid office at her earliest convenience to speak with a financial aid advisor Regards, Joe *** Senior Learner Affairs Associate Academic Affairs Direct Line: *** Toll Free: 1.888.CAPELLA (###-###-####) ext*** Fax: *** E-mail: Joseph.***@capella.edu Capella University Capella Tower *** *** *** *** *** *** Minneapolis, MN www.capella.edu

July 20, 2018To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to Ms*** ***’s complaint #***Ms***’s complaint is regarding the balance owed on her account due to the return of Federal Financial Aid. As Ms*** did not earn enough program points during her FlexPath Billing Session, Department of Education regulations surrounding the disbursement of Title IV funding requires us to calculate how much of her term she has completed and return any unearned aid back to her lenderThe amount due on her account that was transferred to an agreed upon payment plan of $3,is the amount that was returned to her lender per DOE regulationsThe current balance of $3,after making her first payment is now owed directly to Capella University. While our advisors and financial aid representatives attempt to provide learners with as much information and direction, we cannot hypothesize what scenarios will happen if they do not continue to participate as required in their coursesHowever; the FlexPath tuition and fees refund policy is given to all learners and available on Campus iGuideThe balance due on Ms***’s account is a result of her not completing the necessary program points within her allotted billing session. We apologize for any confusion this situation may have caused Ms***, but the balance due on her account is a result of her lack of adequate participation in her coursesWe encourage her to continue working with our business office to discuss her payment plan in working to resolve her balanceFeel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns.Regards,Joe ***Senior Learner Affairs AssociateAcademic Affairs Direct Line: 612.977.***Toll Free: 1.888.CAPELLA (###-###-####) ext***Fax: ###-###-####E-mail: Joseph.***@capella.edu Please see the attached response

June 30, To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to Ms*** ***’s complaint #***Ms***’s complaint states that she was unfairly removed from her courses due to non-engagement and is requesting a refund of her FlexPath tuition for the term in which she was dropped Ms*** began her first FlexPath undergraduate course in business in February of Ms*** submitted a course activity update on 2/26/2016, which counted as academic engagement, and also stated that her first assessment would be submitted on 2/29/The learner never submitted that assessment, but submitted another course activity update on 3/12/This activity update did not qualify as academic engagement as she still had not submitted an assessment in the courseroom for her instructor to examine and score, and academic reached out to Ms*** to notify her of thisMs*** was then notified again by academic advising on 3/19/that she had not been actively engaged in her courses for over three weeks and that she would be dropped from her course on 3/for non-engagement if she had not submitted work that qualified her for academic engagementMs*** again attempted to submit a course activity update, but was not submitting any new information or work on her assessment that qualified as academic engagementAt that time, she was also given information from the tutor about how to improve her submissions so they would qualify as academic engagementAs the learner had no actively participated in her course for days, she was dropped from her courses for non-engagementMs*** appealed to school leadership to be re-enrolled in her courses, but based upon her lack of participation and poor quality of the work that had been submitted, her request for re-enrollment was denied We apologize for any confusion or frustration this situation may have caused Ms***, but unfortunately we will not be able to re-enroll her in her first course and will not be dropping the amount owed for tuitionI would be more than happy to assist Ms*** in contacting our business office to arrange a payment plan if resolving the balance at one time is not an optionPlease feel free to reach out if there are any additional questions or concerns Regards Joseph *** Learner Affairs Associate Learner Services & Operations (LSO) Direct Line: ###-###-#### Toll Free: 1.888.CAPELLA (###-###-####) ext*** Fax: ###-###-#### E-mail: Joseph.***@capella.edu

To whom it may concern:
This letter is in response to Ms***'s complaint from case #*** submitted on 12/16/Ms*** states her complaint is related to a balance that she owes due to a course she enrolled in during the spring term, of which she was subsequently dropped for non-participationMs*** states she is unable to make the payments proposed in discussions with our business office
Ms*** did actively participate in courseroom discussions in both of her spring courses, which is defined as participation by university policyAs Ms*** participated and dropped courses after the date published in the tuition and fees refund policy, she is not eligible for a refund of her spring tuition
We apologize for any undue hardship or stress that this situation may have caused Ms***, but the balance owed to Capella is warranted as it aligns with our published tuition and fees refund policyOur business office does not negotiate payment plans though a third party, so if Ms*** would like to change any proposed payment plan, she may do so directly with our business officePlease feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns

I am rejecting this response because:
I will need to print, fill out and fax the form which was sent to meI am at work but will try to take care of it today

I am rejecting this response because:
The professor did not accuse me of academic dishonesty in as form of plagiarism but as my own work it was as a retaliation due to my complaint about him and my request to have another mentor After I was granted a new mentor he went back and accused me of using my own work that he reviewed and told me to submit in the assignment area (I have the message from him basically instructing me to submit it)This is a working paper that has been part of my dissertation proposal and he was well aware that the studies I'm using will be part of my dissertation which was properly cited He decided to go back and accuse me of academic dishonesty 3-weeks after he already graded me for the course which as a fail because I requested a new mentor Anyhow, I've been sending emails with no response from the University as to when I will hear back from the committee on this appeal I submitted nearly 6-months agoNow I'm being indirectly threaten to be kicked out of the university? This has been the most unjust experience I've ever experienced and because I'm a minority there is nothing I can do about it right Capella? Is he not a mentor and his responsibility would be for him to take part of any issue regarding academic dishonesty (i.etelling me to submit a paper that could be considered "academic dishonesty)? Also Capella's policy is to look into the facts regarding such an issue (i.edid the student willingly submit such a paper knowing that they were in a violation)>? What Dr*** did to me is basically entrapment and I would find it unacceptable for the University to even consider reviewing his claimI have more attachments but I'm unable to upload anymore

Please see the attached document

I am rejecting this response because: I contacted my instructor one week after the class started and I talked on the phone to someone in the office, saying I did not owe them
I have been very disappointed with Capella, when looking for a school to attend, I was told this was a standing University, It is not, it is a floor in a business buildingMy fellow students and I got grades on a class where the instructors never even graded the discussion threadsI am very disappointed

I am rejecting this response because:
The second billing cycle was autoenrolled by the university without my permissionAccording to their own policy auto enrollment but must be approvedI have multiple emails with the FlexPathCoaches and billing department covering this issueThe class was dropped days after the cycle ended because the alleged self-pace course (FlexPath) is only self-paced when it fits their boiling cycle.
