To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to Ms*** ***’ complaint #***Ms***’ complaint centers around that she has been charged over $2,for classes she did not take after speaking with her counselor and advised she would not enroll in classes for the next semester As of the date of the email where Ms***’s requested a pause in enrollment, she was already in her new billing sessionWe have reviewed calls prior to that time and, although Ms***’s discusses her options for pausing enrollment, she never asked for a pause in enrollment We apologize for any hardship or confusion this situation has caused Ms***, however the balance due on her account is due to her requesting a pause in enrollment after the start of her billing sessionWe would encourage Ms***’s to contact our business office if she is currently experiencing economic hardship that is preventing her from paying her balance in fullOur business office may be able to assist her in arranging a payment plan that is suitable for her current situationWe will not be taking any action to reduce the balance on her account Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns Regards, Alyssa R*** | Learner Affairs Associate | Learner Affairs | Capella University | www.capella.edu | Phone: ###-###-#### | Fax: ###-###-#### | *** *** *** ***, Minneapolis, MN

January 17, To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to Ms*** ***’s complaint #***The nature of Ms***’s complaint is regarding a tuition credit that was requested in November of due to complications with her financial aid There was a technical delay in disbursing financial aid for Ms*** when she switched from a FlexPath program to a traditional GuidedPath programThis delay led to the Financial Aid manager authorizing a tuition credit in the amount of $to be applied to the balance on Ms***’s accountI have conferred with the leadership involved in the decision to approve her credit, and we will eb authorizing a future-facing credit in the amount of $Ms*** has been informed that this will only be a credit that applies to a future-facing tuition charge and will not be sent to her as a direct refund We apologize for any hardship or delays this situation may have caused Ms***We encourage Ms*** to reach out to our financial aid department with how this tuition credit will impact any future financial aid Regards, Joe *** Senior Learner Affairs Associate Academic Affairs Direct Line: ###-###-#### Toll Free: 1.888.CAPELLA (###-###-####) ext*** Fax: ###-###-#### E-mail: Joseph.***@capella.edu Capella University Capella Tower *** *** *** *** *** *** Minneapolis, MN www.capella.edu

? I am rejecting this response because:***See attached release form***

? I am rejecting this response because: Capella did reach out to me via email for non-engagement but this was a mute point since all of my flex path? assignments were completed? This is completely unacceptable, I did not withdraw from the course? From the beginning I've let the school know what that they lacked the communication necessary? for me to know what was needed or what was going on with my classes? They want my money and I am not willing to give it to them because this is not fair and legal! ?

? I am rejecting this response because: I never used the word sabotage and falsely quoted in this responseI did bring up student success and have years worth of communications from the school as the misleading phone conversations warranted documentation which is conveyed in email threadsI have a school email and personal email that was used no messages were ever left on voice mail from school and my concerns, losses, and integrity issues will warrant legal advice and a student loan grievance.Im sad that the school cannot meet it pledge of success and chose to take the direction they did.Thank you for your prompt attention in communicating on this complaintI would be happy to share my written documentation to shed truth on the matterGiven the nature of the schools response I would prefer written communication rather than phone.? September 26, ? To whom it may concern: ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? This letter is in response to Mr*** ***’s complaint #***Mr***’s complaint regards the balance due on his account, the collection activities involved with that balance, and a grant he was offered upon enrollment at Capella? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Mr*** enrolled at Capella in the Fall term in a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program in CounselingHe began his first course on November 10th of 2014, for which he accepted a financial aid award of $3,that disbursed to his account on 12/1/Pf this disbursement, $disbursed towards his tuition, $disbursed towards what he used as a book voucher to purchase course material, and $1,disbursed to him as a refund for educational-related expensesDespite Mr***’s claim, none of the funds disbursed to him (including the refund) were part of any grant he was offered or given to attend CapellaAll of the financial aid that disbursed to his account was in the form of unsubsidized Stafford funding that he voluntarily accepted ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? When Mr*** dropped his course on 12/2/2014, the day after his financial aid disbursed, we were required to return all funds to the Department of Education in accordance with federal regulations regarding Title IV fundingThis left him with a balance on his account of $3,Upon learning of Mr***’s dissatisfaction, and that he felt as though he was erroneously admitted to Capella University, we offered him a one-time good faith tuition credit of $2,to apply towards the balance of his tuition and book voucher chargeThe only remaining balance Mr*** owes is the $1,that was sent to him as a refund? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? We apologize for any confusion or frustration this situation may have caused Mr***, but we feel we have been more than generous with the good faith credit he was offered for his tuition and book voucher chargeThe amount remaining as a balance from the refund sent to him of $1,will remain as a balance on his account, and we will continue with collection activities until this balance is resolvedPlease feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns ? November 1, ? To whom it may concern: ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? This letter is in response to Ms*** ***’s complaint #***Ms***’s complaint centers around the balance on her account due to a lack of financial aid toward the end of her program with CapellaThis balance is currently preventing the release of her official transcript? During the 2015-financial aid year, Ms*** hit the annual limit on Stafford loans as determined by the Department of Education, which is currently set at $12,for students in their 3rd year and beyondEven with the addition of $2,in grant money, the charges in tuition were greater than the financial aid available due to the amount of undergraduate credits Ms*** took within the financial aid yearHad a portion of those credits been taken in the 2016-financial aid year, there would have been further Stafford funding availableAs it stands, the difference between the charges in tuition and the aid Ms*** had available was $That $is the current remaining balance on her account and is preventing the release of her official transcript ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? I have consulted with our business office, and we would be willing to allow the release of Ms***’s official transcript under certain conditionsIn the event a learner cannot resolve a balance in full, a formal payment plan is certainly an option.? To make an exception to the full resolution requirement in order to allow release of her transcript, this plan needs to be on file and a Ms*** has to have made the first payment in said planIf Ms*** is agreeable to these terms, I encourage her to reach out to our business office at ###-###-####? February 14th, 2018? To whom it may concern:? This letter is in response to Ms*** ***’s complaint #***The nature of Ms***’s complaint is that she has a balance due for a course she dropped and did not participate in.Ms*** was in an undergraduate business program and enrolled in BUS??" Legal Issues in Human Resource Management on April 4th, After the course began on April 10th, Ms*** fully participated in the Unit activities on April 14thAlthough Ms*** states she did not participate, she included the following courseroom posting, complete with citations and feedback from the instructor:? I live and work in Virginia, in the state of Virginia there are over eight million peopleLike any state the cost of living varies throughout VirginiaI live in the Washington Metropolitan area which includes northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DCOne of the notable happening in the metropolitan area is the opening of MGM Casino in MarylandAccording to the Bureau of Labor Statistics there was a 5.4% growth in leisure and hospitality jobs and I strongly believe this had a lot to do with the casinoWashington, DC had an unemployment rate of 5.4% which was the highest in the metro areaI can say this has a lot to do with the federal hiring freeze and layoffsIn the town I live in there is a lot of housing developments underwayIn looking at the census search I can see that over three hundred thousand properties are vacantMost of the properties that are for sale are priced at a point where you can get a new development built for the same price.? This post demonstrates that Ms*** did not simply log in to the course, but actively participated by posting the graded discussion requirementMs*** then self-withdrew from the course on April 23rd, In accordance with our tuition and fees refund policy, there is no refund for a course dropped after the second Friday of the term, or 4/21/in this instance.? We apologize for any hardship or delays this situation may have caused Ms***, but the balance on her account is accurate per the tuition and fees refund scheduleWe encourage Ms*** to reach out to our business office to discuss options for resolving her balanceFeel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns.? November 1, ? To whom it may concern: ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? This letter is in response to Mr*** ***’ complaint #***Mr***’ complaint centers on a complaint against a faculty member and stating his issues with the instructor led to a poor grade? Mr*** first brought his concerns to our attention in fall of At that time, Mr*** was enrolled in PSF??" Management and Leadership Theory with Dr***Mr***’ complaint at that time was centered on the instructor’s feedback and grading for discussion posts, as well has claims the instructor was attempting to “sabotage” his gradeAt that time, we attempted to reach out to Mr*** to gather more information as his concerns were extremely vague in nature, however Mr*** did not submit any further information to us Mr*** then re-raised his concerns in a future course with Dr*** in June of We attempted to contact Mr*** for a period of two months until he responded to our request for a phone conference in August of Mr*** then offered very general complaints about the instructor that he was again “sabotaging” him and was retaliating against him for his previous complaintDuring that course, Mr*** was also cited for violating the academic honesty and integrity policy due to plagiarizing material for us course assignments? Our department gave what information Mr*** gave us to investigate as to whether there was any wrongdoing on the part of the instructorAs a result of that investigation, we found no evidence that there was any wrongdoing on the part of the instructorMr***’ grades in Dr***’s courses are a result of the academic work completed in those courses and nothing elseMr*** then sent disrespectful emails to the learner affairs department in which he demanded to be dropped from a course that Dr*** was teaching for the Fall termMr*** has since dropped his fall courses? We apologize for any hardship Mr***’ perception of his instructor may have caused, but we have found no evidence or information that indicates the instructor acted out of accordance with our expectations for faculty membersBased on that lack of evidence, we will not be changing Mr***’ grades or transcriptPlease feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns?
