? I am rejecting this response because Capella has never addressed its problemsThis? entire issue began from the very beginning of my experience with CapellaCapella has NEVER EVER accepted any responsibility for the lack of tutors for Stats the FIRST and SECOND time I took it? The delay led to all the problems since? The FLEX PROGRAM was rolled out before it was ready, I? believedI think it would behoove the Revdex.com to find out how many? people took and passed the GenPsych Flex program in its entirety during the time time I enrolled with my first? class with CapellaIt was glitchy and slow and delayed my progress, but Inferential Stats was what really sent my whole? program into a tail spin? I had a? limited window of time to? complete my Masters before relatives in my life were going to need caregivingI was assured there were tutors, SMOOTH RUNNNING websites, and there was no reason someone of my intellect and proven academic history could not complete it in a timely mannerI pointed out the programs' problems regularly, but foolishly kept hoping it would get better.PLEASE NOTE that I was REJECTED from the FLEX PATh program, but Capella took LONGER THAN THEY PROMISED to address my grievancesI have the dates and? recordsTHE DELAY AND DENY tactics holds students of good will and ability to be stuck into the program longerI can only presume this is to make more moneyI am shocked at the shoddiness I found from a REGIONALLY ACCREDITED institutionAttached is an explanation and some artifacts of many I have, to point out problems?

To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to Ms*** ***s complaint #***Ms***’s complaint centers around a past due balance of over $5,due to an unexpected medical circumstance for which she sought a tuition credit to cover the past due balance Through our Campus portal, learners can access a webpage that contains the list of criteria required for a tuition credit request to be reviewed by Learner AffairsIn this circumstance, documentation required for consideration of a credit regarding a major medical issue includes: Their written statement describing the unexpected medical emergency and how the situation impacted your participation in course(s); andTheir healthcare provider’s statement, written on letterhead and signed, that specifies the dates during which they were unable to participate in their course(s) While Ms***’s provided medical documentation relative to her unexpected medical circumstance, her tuition credit request was denied as her healthcare provider’s statement failed to explain the specific dates she was unable to participate in her course due to her unexpected medical circumstance as required by our criteria Ms***’s submitted a revised healthcare provider’s statement to Learner Affairs on May 13th, 2016, however, our records indicate that Ms***’s was actively participating in her courses contrary to the dates listed on her third-party healthcare documentation We apologize for any hardship or confusion this situation has caused Ms***sTo aid in the Ms***’s permanent separation from the University, we are offering a one-time good faith tuition credit in the amount of $2,to be applied to her account balanceHowever, Ms***s is still responsible the remaining balance on her account Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns Regards, Alyssa R*** Learner Affairs Associate Toll Free: 1.888.CAPELLA (###-###-####) Fax: ###-###-#### E-mail: Alyssa.***@capella.edu ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As Capella indicated, they are required to RETURN the unearned portion of financial aid, due to NON-SERVICE They are legally obligated to do this
Therefore, I DO NOT OWE Capella anything because Capella did NOT provide ME service eitherYet, Capella is trying to collect money from me, for doing NOTHING !!!
This is FRAUD, plain and simple
Moreover, I contacted the FTC, as well

Re: Complaint ID *** Response to Capella University’s Initial ResponseDear MrJoseph ***,I wish to follow up with a formal letter to respond to your short and quite possibly standard responseconcerning my issues with Capella University while enrolled in their Doctoral Program in January 2012.First and foremost, I would like to elaborate and further explain the first sentence of my original onlinecomplaint which reads ‘I am requesting a refund essentially for a course that I never attended’I am notdisputing the fact that I was enrolled in the doctoral program at Capella University. My formal complaint is based on written and verbal correspondences that I have had with employees whowork for Capella University that have been conflicting (meaning that the information that I was providedhas been different such as dates, notes in the system, etc.)I attached documentation that validated myreasoning for all of my questions and/or concerns and quite possibly you didn’t have adequate time toreview and read each and every document that was forwarded to Capella University on behalf of theRevdex.com.Mr***, who is a Learner Affairs Associate, failed to address and/or respond to all of my questionsand/or concerns that were included in my online complaint as well as my formal written complaint thatwas very detailed in a separate letterI am requesting that Mr*** allow the department that he worksfor to complete my request for my ‘educational records’, review all of the documentation, and thenrespond to the following questions and/or concerns that I had initially asked in my initial writtencomplaint letter.I have included all of the questions and/or concerns that I am requesting answers to and based on Mr.*** short response, I have included additional questionsIn addition to the reiterated questions listedbelow, I have also included an additional attachment titled ‘Capella University AdditionalDocumentation’ and I will reference whether my questions and/or concerns are included in the attachmentor documentation that I submitted in my original complaint, when necessaryThe questions are asfollows:? Did Capella University receive my financial aid award from the Department of Education? ? If the answer is yes, then please indicate the following:? ? ? aHow much was awarded during for the Winter Qtr?? ? ? bWhat was the amount received?? ? ? cWhat was the date that the movies were received?? ? ? dWhat date were the funds returned to the Department of Education?? Is there a policy in place regarding dropping or withdrawing from a course? ? If yes, please indicate the following:? ? ? aThe exact name and policy number (2.0.02)? ? ? bThe exact dates of time-frames and percentage of money, if still owed by the learner? ? ? cHow is the learner notified if they personal drop or withdraw from a course?? ? ? dHow is the learner notified if they have been administratively withdrawn from a course?? What does Capella University have as my withdraw date? ? Please indicate the method used to withdraw along with the time.? Was the course dropped by myself or was I administratively withdrawn from the course due to non-participation?? Was there a balance due on my account? If yes, please indicate the following:? ? ? aWhat was the total amount that was due on my account upon withdrawing from the course?? ? ? bWhen I was notified that there was a balance 'still owed' on the account? ? Please indicate the date and the method of contact.? ? ? cWhen was I notified that there was a balance 'past due' on the account? ? Please indicate the date and the method of contact.? ? ? dWho attempted to 'collect on the unpaid balance'?? ? ? eIf I was notified by a collection company, is the collection company in-house or outsourced?? Why does my online account through iGuide show that my application is 'incomplete'?? How was I conditionally admitted to Capella University without official transcripts or without the transcripts even being ordered?? Were my Official Transcripts and confirmation of my degrees requested from the universities that I had attended? ? If yes, please indicate the following:? ? ? aWhat was the date that they were requested?? ? ? bWhat date was the requested information received?? Why was I told by my Lead Enrollment Counselor that in order to be able to order books/materials, I had to accept my financial award 'immediately' (only to find out that all of the materials would be included in my tuition)?Mr*** currently works in the Learner Services and Operations Department as a Learners AffairAssociate at Capella University and with that being said, I would assume at this point that Mr*** isaware that I have contacted Capella University on many occasions and most recently on June 14, 2016, Isent a detailed request for my ‘educational records’In the past I have requested information about myshort stay at Capella University and I have gotten NO RESPONSEIn a follow up call to the departmenton July 20, to review the current status of my request for my ‘educational records’, I was told thatCapella University has until July 28, 2016, to respond and that does not include the to day mail time.Since Mr*** works in the department where I originally submitted my written request for my‘educational records’, I can only assume that he would have been due diligent when researching andresponding to my original complaint because he would have had complete access to my records torespond accordinglyI will also note that I supplied additional documentation with my complaint that Ihad retained for my records.I have included an attachment that will address the questions I originally requested answersI have alsoincluded any additional questions and/or comments that I currently haveI have included a key belowthat will reference the status of each question.? ? I will be very clear when I say that I REJECT this business response; furthermore, I am requestingadditional time to prepare a written response based on my ‘educational records’ request being honored byCapella UniversityRegardless, I am requesting that the Revdex.com grant additional responsetime to Capella University in an equal effort to respond to the initial complaint. In closing, I am requesting that my ‘educational records’ be shared with the Revdex.com as Ioriginally stated in my initial complaint letter, that my questions and/or concerns be answered and I amrequesting that all and/or any supporting documentation that coincides with my enrollment period atCapella University adhere to the policy(s) that were in place at that timePlease let me know if you haveany additional questions.Sincerely,*** J***Additional Attachments

? I am rejecting this response because:
Mr*** is twisting the facts in this case for their own benefitI was seeking advice from Matt ***, my tutor, because of this special situation I was going through.? This is on his own words: "I have placed a pause on your auto-registration so that nothing further will register for you when you complete BUS-FP3012"That is very clear to me that I won’t get registered any moreThen he gave instructions on how to discontinue from the universityTherefore, I waited thinking that I was fine based on Matt’s informationWhen I got the $bill (on 10/11/16), I went back and ask why I was being charged and he changed to: "I did place a pause on your account so nothing further started when you completed BUS-FP3012, however when you completed the course we were already well into the new billing session.” Why he didn’t tell me that when on 9/30/2016? I could have continued at the university for another sessionBy this time all my options were gone because I was already two weeks after the classes startedTherefore, what is the function of a tutor, isn't it for helping the students? Or do they just want to mislead them so the university makes more money? If I cannot trust the tutor, who can help us? The other issue is with the different schedules they haveThere is a billing session, academic calendar, and course dates, which makes a very confusing situationI spent a couple of days looking for information on the schedules and on the data, that I gathered, I thought I was on track, but still I asked Matt just to make sure, and unfortunately he gave me the wrong information.*** ***

To whom it may concern:
We would like to apologize to Ms*** for any frustration or hardship her financial aid situation may have causedWhile we did disburse her financial aid as soon as possible after receiving the funds from the Department of Education, we can understand that any delay in the disbursement of aid may have caused her undue distress
We have thoroughly examined the handling of her financial aid, and in no way did any employee or representative of Capella maliciously or intentionally delay the awarding or disbursement of her financial aidIf a learner decides to withdraw from our institution, we handle the Return of Title IV Funding in strict accordance with Department of Education regulations
Although Ms*** made it clear that she is unhappy with Capella, it is unclear what we could further do to rectify her situationAll financial aid has now been disbursed, but if she would like further clarification regarding the timing of her disbursement or the regulations surrounding her withdrawal and how that may affect a return of financial aid, we encourage her to speak with our FlexPath financial aid teamThey would be more than happy to assist her with any additional questions or concernsIf there are any other questions or concerns that I may be of assistance in addressing Ms*** with, she is more than welcome to reach out to me as well

Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2016/02/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Capella's response doesn't address two critical facts regarding this particular case
First of all, I was put in an impossible situation since Department Chair Dr*** had informed me after years of working on my topic, that it was unacceptableThis was after getting the approval of all my mentors who agreed to work with me only because my topic was acceptable and doableSo this made years of work on this topic worthless and I wasn't given any consideration of this fact nor given any options other than proposing a new topicI did thisHowever, this made it so that I had a little over a single term to get my new topic to the same milestone that my prior one was at after years of work
The second fact is thisThe instructor who gave me my first NS was Dr***, who agreed to change my grade after I explained my situation to him, which was that during my term with him I got a new jobJon ***, who was acting as my "Dissertation Success" advisor, advised me not to get the grade change but instead to appeal the academic withdrawal
I have the emails from Dr*** confirming this
The options offered to me by Capella would not increase my marketability as I already have a Masters degreeThe whole purpose of the PhD degree was to make it easier to procure academic teaching contracts
I understand that Capella has policies however in my years of teaching in graduate and undergraduate programs of over half a dozen universities, every institution has emphasized that policies should be enforced with discretion upon the learner
Even in straight forward situations like plagiarism, the student should be allowed to explain the situation and policies should be modified to allow the learner every chance to complyKeep in mind that plagiarism involves the actual theft of academic credit, whereas my situation involves making a good faith effort to comply with an impossible situation Capella put me in
Not only that but in this situation Capella has acted in a way that directly contradicts their promotion materialOn Capella's numerous websites they tout the "Learner Centered" approach and entice potential students with a Mission Statement that is "fulfilled through innovative programs that are responsive to the needs of adult learners"
Another example: "Today, Capella University still has a learner-centered approach to teaching with strong support for the student."
http://www.gradschoolhub.com/colleges/capella-university/
Capella in this situation has turned this learner centered approach on its headIf my topic was 'unacceptable' Capella should have not have let me start such a topicI should be refunded the wasted money I spent on an unacceptable topic and given an exemption and allowed to continue with a new topic
I am a learner pursing a PhD degree
I paid Capella for PhD supervision of my dissertationIf that is not what I got, that is Capella's fault, not my own

To whom it may concern:
This letter is in response to Mr*** ***'s complaint from case #*** submitted on 1/26/Mr***'s complaint is centered around his academic withdrawal from Capella university
Although Mr*** claims he was put into a poor situation based upon his topic not being approved, the responsibility for success in dissertation lies with the learner to to get their topic approvedMr*** failed to academically progress in his milestones, which eventually led to his academic withdrawal notification from the universityCapella does make exceptions to our administrative withdrawal policy, an exception that was granted to Mr*** when he initially appealed his decisionHe was ultimately withdrawn from the university for not meeting the requirements of that appeal decisionWe have thoroughly reviewed Mr***'s situation and feel we have done everything possible to assist him in succeedingAlthough supervision was provided to him, the lack of progress and success in this instance falls on the learner
We apologize for any undue hardship or stress that this situation may have caused Mr***, but we will not review any further requests to reverse the administrative withdrawal decision We encourage Mr*** to work with the academic advising team to pursue alternate degree options utilizing the credits he has earned up to this pointPlease feel free to contact me with any additional questions or concerns

Please see the attached response

? I am rejecting this response because: I did share with my Academic Advisor about the hardship and there was no confusion on my partThe attached email is just an excerpt of several conversations - it shows that I reminded him of the discussion and HE SAID - "...it seems like you are still having issues...." ? - If he was never aware that I did not want to be enrolled because I was having problems - then why say "still" -? Furthermore? - nothing in his correspondence indicated that I would have to still pay - nothing ind his conversation said I was still liable - I did not know about this until a month laterI am really disturbed by this attempt to get this money when they know the confusion was on their partThey are trying to protect themselves at my expenseI am unemployed and I was on financial aid - obviously I don't have the means - this waiver should NOT be an issue for a disabled veteranALSO, refusing to release my transcripts that I HAVE PAID FOR - is also horribleSo not only am I out of Capella but I am out the money I paid for my? transcripts? which they will not releaseI received a call from a representative on 12/9/- a lady (I do not have the name) - who advised she would look into the matter because she agreed that I should not pay for classes that I did not take - However I just got off the phone with Mike Smith (12/14/16) who said that I never received a call from? Capella on 12/9/16- there was no record of the callThe 1st screen shot is from my phone showing they did callThe second screenshot is showing that they called tonightAGAIN - they have not kept accurate records of communication - so how I am supposed to believe their other records of my calls are accurateI have SEVERAL emails with the financial aid office - where their information was not correct and each person said something differentCapella's information is not accurateThey are "johnny-on-the-spot" with collection calls but they have not even considered having a conversation with me priorI also mentioned that to the "business office" they DENIED my waiver without ever having a conversation with meThey got TONS of financial aid over the time I was a student.? This still is in disputeI am not able to pay this and it is unethical to make me pay for classes that I didn't take and for them to withhold my transcripts.?

? I am rejecting this response because: Course was dropped prior to the course starting in which I have documentation which? clearly states the dropped date with an additional falsified date
