Several years ago I signed up for a Capital One Secured credit cardWhen signing up I was told to make consecutive payments and then call to have my account converted to an unsecured card and receive my initial $deposit backAfter making payments I called and was told that no refund could be issued and secured credit cards could not be converted to unsecuredAlthough upset I let it go and continued growing my creditFast forward to months ago and my credit has been repairedIt was time to cancel the old secured credit cardIn September I paid the remaining balance and called to cancel my cardI was told that refunds don't get issued automatically so wait one week and then call back to have the check issuedI called back and was told a check was automatically issued the day after I cancelled my account and I should be receiving a check in the next couple daysUnfortunately, the check never arrivedSince then I have contacted Capitol One at least times asking for my refundEach time I am told they have emailed the department that handles that and to wait another 7-daysEach time, nothing arrivesLast Thursday I called and spoke to a repHe said he was going to personally resolve this issueHe emailed the department and said he would personally call me back on Sunday (because he was off Friday and Saturday)Sunday and Monday came and went without any contact from Capital OneWith my frustration growing and having already wasted countless hours on hold with Capital One I called again today (January 10, 2017)After minutes on hold I was told the rep (in the escalation department) could only email the department that handles the secured card and hope that someone would contact me in the next 24-hoursOn each call I have requested to be transferred to a supervisor or someone who can handle the issue and I have received no assistanceWhile the employees are polite they are either incapable or unwilling to assist a desperate and loyal customerI am frustrated and tired of dealing with Capital OneI will be cancelling my unsecured card with Capital One as well as my checking and savings accountI am forced into repeatedly calling Capital One and begging for my refundHow can I find a solution to this ridiculous problem

I have been a loyal customer of capital one with my credit card and mortgage account's for a long time, I'm now very disappointed in there actions as what they have reported a late payment in October of 2016 to the credit bureaus, Each month I have made payments to them via calling them in, In September when I called my payment in the rep received my payment and did not disclose that payment was increased, ( as prior months I sent letters asking to escrow taxes in my payment, payment increase without proper notification)) after finding out they put that payment into a holding account and once I found out what was going on I made sure to call them and explain and make additional payments to get it resolved. when I called the rep in late November he expressed that if I faxed over a letter and explain the situation this late one time payment would get cleared up.. I have never been over 30 days late , Last few phone calls to them were extremely un professional and rude, especially when I talked to a rep in Texas named Susan. I will do my best to pass the word on how they treat there customers! I will make sure more complaint's on [redacted] , [redacted] and other BBB agencies read.

I finally agreed when the amount seemed okay Why would I agree to a settlement that left a balance of $661.13, that is~ $over the $debt forgiveness for tax purposes - that doesn't make sense! I don't believe you are aware of how [redacted] Source, whom you placed my account with, dealt with me In addition, your response says that I received a call concerning the issuance of the 1099-C and it was read to me again on a second time on July 24, Hmmn, I believe that is in the future and I certainly haven't received that call yet(Nor have I ever received a call to explain that I am aware of) In fact, you couldn't even find a copy of the 1099-C you sent me and I had to have our tax preparer make a copy and fax it to youI don't understand how we paid over $on a $3,debt and received from you a 1099-C for ~ $3,987.00? My tax preparer has the only copy of the 1099-C at this moment so I'm not sure of the exact amount until Monday but need to send this now due to the Revdex.com's time limitations for my response My number is 707-357- I've not been able to locate your number or make it through the maze of your automated system Regards, [redacted]
