Mr. [redacted] brought his 1999 Porsche to Car Toys to have a radio and four speakers installed. The radio we sold him didn’t operate Car Play Navigation like he expected. He brought it back and gave an alternative solution for a full size Pioneer Car Play...

system that would work better for him. To install the full size unit versus the half-size unit required custom fabrications that required fiberglass in addition to custom dash parts. The Store Manager saw there was an issue and told the customer he would get it handled but failed to let the customer know that he would need to pay the additional $275 for the added parts and custom install. When Mr. [redacted] returned to pick up his car he thought that the additional charge was being covered based on what the Store Manager told him. After the Regional Manager spoke with Mr. [redacted], Car Toys agreed to not charge him the additional $275. I followed-up with the customer and he is happy and pleased.

Completely fabricated to cover their sub par failed install.
the vehicle interior is disassembled because the car is undergoing restoration as its being gifted to my neice for her 16th birthday.  The interior was removed when I repleced the convertible top, carpet and removed the dashboard to full replaced the a/c system leaving no old factory parts behind. This is the 4th mustang I have restored and do so as a hobby. The vehicle was purchased non running and has received a new engine and transmission both rebuilt by myself. A simple stereo install is beneath my abilities and clearly above Cartoys employees abilities. They were given explicit instructions to complete the install and where components were to be located, they failed to even consoder these agreed upon conditions. The car received a clear checklist of no interior damage on delivery and was returned with interior damage to my driver side A pillar cover and ripped shifter boot. They refused to refund the fees paid for a headunit install when the vehicle was returned to me with no installed headunit and no connected wiring.  The satellite tuner was not connected to the headunit, the satellite antenna was permanently affixed to the trunk lid off center and must be removed and replaced as the one time use adhesive is now unusable.

To whom it may concern,I spoke with [redacted] on Wednesday the 5th. We installed a radio in Mr. [redacted]’s 2003 Lexus 470 and the vehicle was fully functional afterwards. Mr. [redacted] later had his car in a shop for service where the battery was disconnected at some point. This caused the radio that...

we installed to lose volume. When this happens you need the factory radio to reprogram the factory amplifier in the car. Otherwise, you must replace the factory amplifier with an aftermarket amplifier.  Mr. [redacted] initially came to Car Toys roughly five months ago due to his factory radio not functioning properly. We replaced the factory radio with a new aftermarket head unit, but naturally Mr. [redacted] since disposed of the malfunctioning factory radio. I told Mr. [redacted] that I would do further research for a possible alternative solution with different vendors. I was attempting to find Mr. [redacted] a more cost effective route to replacing the factory amplifier. I was able to successfully find three alternatives that we were going to try.  Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle in for a service appointment on Saturday May 6th, where our Installation Technician Manager was able to successfully work through his system to resolve all issues involved. I spoke with the Ms. [redacted] on Tuesday the May 17th.  I made her aware that I was the Regional Manager and will do my best to help correct her issues. Ms. [redacted] said she has only been able to listen to her system three times over the last 6 plus...

months since having it installed in November of 2015. Ms. [redacted] said she has had to bring it back three times since having it installed and now wants to get her money back. Our records show Ms. [redacted] has only brought it back once for a blown subwoofer, which we replaced and left with her full system working properly; now Ms. [redacted] requesting a full refund. I told Ms. [redacted] that we would be willing to correct any issues the system is having, as well as retrieve the vehicle ourselves if we needed.  Ms. [redacted] said she felt that she could have purchased the same system or similar for $1100, but I politely explained how that was not possible. I reinforced with Ms. [redacted] again that we be unable to refund the system considering she has had it for 6 months, and that the only issue she has had was corrected by replacing the subwoofer that she had blown. Ms. [redacted] could not provide me the real issue she was having with the system other than her factory radio was having an issue.  Ms. [redacted] said she would talk to the store about setting up a time. I told her I would have the Store Manager call her to coordinate a time so that the Installation Manager could personally trouble shoot and correct her issues. The Store Manager called Ms. [redacted] immediately. Ms. [redacted] told the Store Manager she just wanted a refund as well, and then wanted to talk to someone else. I had my Regional Assistant call her back to reiterate and explain that we were unable to refund the purchase, but rather we would service and correct any issues she is having. We haven’t heard back from Ms. [redacted] for the last two days but I would assume she is going to continue to try and get a refund. Ms. [redacted] issues haven’t been substantiated at all.  I reinforced our lifetime warranty on the installation work and the product warranty. Again, I let her know that we are willing to correct all issues with Ms. [redacted] system that we are responsible for.

resolved. 
Tahoe: going back to car toys yet again ( south center locations) as alarm will not properly function and unlock/lock doors. 
Suburban: 
light is now blown out in speedometer since wiring harness was replaced  
running board in back not installed. Bare exposed wires where my son climbs in and out of car.
missing cord was to be ordered off of amazon and installed last week. Yet to have had contact with car toys. 
I feel we need to be fully re-imbursed at this time

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: Every time we went there with a problem with this device they said we'll fix it and the fix was short lived until something else went wrong with the vehicle where they attached  the device, we believed them at first, but the vehicle only acted up with the device installed. this device caused all our problems and they should cover all the costs incurred by us. We had the car towed to [redacted] and they have proof that this device  was incompatible with this vehicle's computer and caused the problems.Sincerely,[redacted]

service appointments. Car Toys has agreed to issue Mr. [redacted] a $200 store credit as well as a $200 refund for his inconvenience and frustrations. Both refunds are being processed this week. Mr. [redacted] has expressed his satisfaction with this resolution and the quick responses from Car Toys in the last week.

I reviewed your compliant and request for a refund.  First off I wanted to apologize for the time you spent waiting for the install and your perception that your vehicle was miss-handled intentionally. We take matters like this seriously and strive to always...

provide installations done with integrity.
 
I’d like to address your compliant regarding us knowingly installing sub-standard install parts. I would like to clarify that the part used were from the manufacturer “Metra” which a very highly regarded company in the stereo installation industry and used by many reputable companies. Anthony, the Manager Trainee, admittedly misspoke about the product in attempts to show sympathy over the situation.
 
In regards to repairing your dash lights that you say we caused to go out, I would like to repair them because we as a company will always repair damage that we cause. Let me know how you would like to resolve this and I can get it handled.
 
In the situation of the refund, I saw that you are requesting $2620 back. I am confused by this because I saw that on 12/04/16 the store refunded you back $1728.73. I added up the totals for the speakers plus install (not including tax) which is $314.96 and the Dynamat sound dampening which is $146.50 which is a total of $461.46. We as company do not refund installation due to the fact that we have a lifetime warranty and will always work with our customers to make the install right. In this situation it seems as though you no longer wanted to work with the Car Toys and wanted the vehicle put back to stock. In this event I will make the exception to refund you for the installation related to the radio you were unhappy with. By my calculations it appears like the sum of your desired refund would be around $748 plus tax.
 
Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

We are continuing to work with [redacted] and her husband to get the issues mentioned resolved. We have worked with her to refund all of her installation she has paid and will gladly refund her for her the cost of the alarm as she is requesting.  There has been two service appointments set up with Mrs. [redacted]; one at our South Center location and the other at our Lynnwood location. Unfortunately, Mrs. [redacted] was unable to make it to either of the service appointments, in turn this has added to the delay in completing the need repairs.
 
We currently are in direct communication with Mrs. [redacted] and have spoken with her as recently as 9/8 regarding this situation.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:Sincerely,[redacted] This response is not true I NEVER used a bad word thru this whole thing there were 2 or 3 kids in the store with their mother and dad I think so I made sure NOT swear or get violent  and trust me I could've at that point. The Revdex.com didn't give me near enough room to tell the whole story, I have never even come close to being treated like that so I would really like to tell the whole story. Now as far as M[redacted]'s retort I can understand he has to stick up for the store and his employee(although in this case he should be terminated but that's for them to decide), but he doesn't know the story(the true story) I just wish they had audio with their video so you can hear how it was. So Miles said in his response that I didn't pay anything for installation so I have no refund coming I ask this who's asking for a refund I just want satisfaction that a 51 year old man get treated like this and to hear his response is unreal to me like they just don't give a damn about their customers. So NO I do not accept this and I DO NOT ACCEPT the $100 offer for me to shut my mouth. So it's not the money someone tried to ruin my life for WHAT reason of course I gor upset anyone in my position would have and he pulls all this. If someone from the Revdex.com can contact me because you do not have the WHOLE story I just didn't have near enough room to write it all. Also to let you know I have contacted the Attorney Generals office I want people to know how car toys treats customers. We never got to any point of resolving this matter, as unfortunately it really is too late to come to any resolution other than letting my bank handle this matter further. I simply had returned a callback left for me from Mr. N[redacted] as a curtesy - because I was asked as a show of respect to one of the Fort Worth “Friend / installer” (Who’s name is: [redacted]) after HE explained to Me. N[redacted] (who I think is manager of both stores?) how much of a valued customer I’ve been for many installs and for many years who, after looking at all of the work the Car Toys, Inc. has done for me WITHOUT ISSUES at other branches, told Mr. N[redacted] that I should be heard out. So yes, I have accepted this response - but the matter is no longer in my hands. I wasn’t able to return the call, but it was my bank who had called and explained to me not to act on this matter any further, and let them conduct their own investigation.Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: the manager of that Car toys walked me through what he said would happen, and it was a complete Lie! I did everything that was requested, I did not see anything that stated there would be a partial account credit and a partial amount on the gift card like Rico the manager had told me, I took his word and found out much later that he had not told me the truth, I would have not done the deal if I knew I had to come up with the complete amount to pay off the other carrier, I have lost a great amount of respect for Car Toys and all cell carriers, I did not include the cell carrier in this because they were honest with me when I contacted them about this issue, on the other hand this manager from Car toys just wanted a sell and said what ever he could to make it happen, Car Toys should be ashamed of this manager and there practices.Sincerely,[redacted]
