CarFinance strives to deliver excellent service to every customer. CarFinance would like to apologize for the inconvenience you had to endure. We at CarFinance take every complaint seriously and this matter has been forwarded to the Office of the President. We have temporarily placed a 2 week Cease and Desist request on your account. Please be advised for future reference, cease and desist requests will need to be submitted to us in writing. You may also email us the request, but will need your physical signature on the request for it be processed. In regards to the repossession statement, the supervisor was advising you that if the January payment was not made by the end of March, the account would reach 90 days past due. Once an account is 90 days past due, the account is then put into repossession status. Please be advised at this time your account is not in repossession status, and the remainder of your January payment has been made. The account is now 46 days past due for the February 1st payment. In regards to the late fees, we will not be crediting them back to your account. If they were assessed in error, we would, but they were assessed appropriately. Late fees on your account are assessed once an account is 10 days past due. Please keep in mind we assisted you with a 2 month extension in December to cover the November and December payment. Once your account was due for the January 1st payment, we started calling you on January 6, 2016, but with no success. We did not hear from you for the whole month of January. We didn’t hear from you until February 23, 2016, when you called in wanting to make a payment for $260, but then refused to pay it because we (CarFinance Capital) would not waive the processing fee. The processing fee is charged by our payment processer, it is not our fee. This is not CarFinance Capital refusing to accept your payment. There are a number of other ways to make the payment that does not involve a processing fee. You can mail in a check or also go through your bank’s bill pay program. We at CarFinance take every complaint seriously and this matter has
been forwarded to the Office of the President. When it comes to payments or
payoff on vehicles, customers are responsible for keeping the loan in good
standing until the loan is closed/paid in full, whether it was traded in or in
an accident. Upon review of your account and request, we will as a one time
courtesy will remove the late mark on your credit that was acquired during the
time the vehicle was traded in and when the payoff check was received.
 
Please be advised we have submitted an update today to the credit
bureaus (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion) to remove the late mark that was
acquired. We ask that you allow 30-45 days for it be reflected on your credit.

I received an email from [redacted] (supervisor) and the email is attatched. I responded by calling his direct line and leaving a voicemail message. I then followed up by email asking when I would be able to reach him to set up payment arrangements via telephone seeing as this was not an option via email. I refuse to call the regular customer service number seeing as the last few times I did that I was treated quite terribly and got nowhere outside of being disrespected. In any event, I have not heard anything back as of yet. So I am still unable to make any arrangement regarding payment.

a late charge of $10.96, we will waive it for you as one time courtesy.
We understand that the customer portal has been under
maintenance to provide better services for our customers; however the website (www.carfinance.com) still allows customers
to make a payment online ($2 processing fee), as well as set up automatic
payments with no processing fee. Payments may also be made over the phone with
a live agent ($7 processing fee) or through the automated system over the phone
($4 processing fee). (Please be advised the processing fee is charged by
Western Union). If you would like assistance with setting up automatic

[I have spoke with carfinance and they agreed to send the payment overnight... and all they have done is created a label. (actually a 2nd label because the first one was wrong. It has not been sent so this is not acceptable, because already they have not sent the check overnight as promised in their response. It's not whenever they feel like they can mail it overnight it should have been done that day. Anyone can create a label. Here is the tracking #[redacted]. As you can see. Still not sent.

We have looked into your account, and unfortunately we are unable to refund the funds immediately. According to our records, you had set up a payment on 04/13/2016 that was future dated to be drafted on 05/04/2016. Seven days later on 04/20/2016, we had received a payment to satisfy your loan. It was is still your responsibility to contact us to let us know that the vehicle had been traded in/refinanced and that you would need to have the payment arrangement canceled. Unfortunately, our system does not notify us anytime a loan is closed and a payment is to be drafted after the fact. Since we do use [redacted] a third party system, [redacted] does not know when a loan has been satisfied, so therefore any payments that are still entered into the system will be drafted. In order for us to expedite the refund process for you, we will need a copy of your bank s[redacted]ment showing that the payment has cleared your account, and will not be refunded by your bank if a stop payment has been placed. For privacy purposes, you may block out other transactions. If you are not wanting to provide bank s[redacted]ments to assist you with expediting the process, the refund will automatically be sent back to you via regular mail in a check (to the address on your profile) 21 business days after the payoff date of your loan. I reject this response due to mutiple reasons. Fitst, I was never notified that I was behind and as stated in my original complaint I have had multiple cars paid off by insurance I and have never had to deal with the finance company. At no time was I made aware of the balance until I contacted the company in regards to the hit on my credit report. Second, I just was informed that the balance they are speaking of was not for a late payment, but in fact the balance that was not paid by the insurance because of prior damage. That being the case, I should had never been reported for none payment on a balance that had nothing to do with a payment. Even with that being said, at any point had I been contacted about a late payment this could have been handle, but instead they said nothing of a late payment and then reported me without notice.

once I am able to log on and successfully see my account I will feel more comfortable with today's ability and IT solutions I don't feel that it should take months for a big corporation to have their website available especially since customers cannot physically go to a location when making payments it does not make the customer feel comfortable.

No adjustments are necessary. Please keep in mind that this auto loan is a Simple Interest Loan. What that means is that interest accrues on a daily basis. When the payment was made on 06/22/2015 to cover 6 months to get the account ahead, you were only charged $149.22 in interest. That interest covered the amount that was accrued between 05/23/2015 (the previous payment) and 06/22/2015. Even though the account was paid ahead 6 months and not due until 01/01/2016, you are still responsible for the daily interest that will be accrued.
