Review: Signed up for computer service with Click4Support and now cannot connect with them. Not sure weather this is a scam.Desired Settlement: Refund

Review: 11/11/2014 I was having issues being able to connect & remain connected to the internet. I ran system checks on my computer and all seemed fine using my current [redacted] software. I then contacted [redacted] my ISP for support. The agent seemed professional and knowledgeable. This agent advised me that the issue had to do with [redacted] and that only a certified [redacted] agent would be able to resolve this issue as I had erroneous connections and [redacted] on my PC. BC is a [redacted] and only 2 yrs old. I've never had a problem with this system or [redacted] service. I was transferred to a 3rd party provided to assist with the resolution of my reported issues. After several hours I was presented with service options for hundreds of dollars. (foolishly) I opted for the premium service that cost @1500.00 but was a lift time service. Reluctantly I agreed. It is not 2 days later and my computer is still slow and not working as correctly. I've left multiple voice messages & email regarding service and wanting a full refund as defined in the their policy. To date I have had no response.Desired Settlement: I am looking for a REFUND IN FULL, as the initial issue persists and my phone messages have gone ignored.

I have issue full refunds back to this Customer's credit card. Review: In sept 2013, I had a new [redacted] printer that would not connect to my laptop computer. I called what I had thought was [redacted] troubleshooting dept. I was transferred to someone else which turned out to be CLICK4SUPPORT. I was speaking with an Indian? man who was very difficult to understand. Ultimately, he convinced me that he needed access to my computer to fix the problem. he did not explain that there was a cost for this service, of course, not until the end of his 2 hr. session. he explained that I had several viruses and he proceeded to clean up the computer. at the end of the session, the printer worked. he then explained that I owed him $200 for his services. because the printer, did in fact work, I felt compelled to comply to his overly priced services. he was very demanding insisting I pay an EXTRA $300 to purchase a lifetime virus protection to which I continued to decline. He wanted me to let him obtain access to my other 3 home computers AND my WORK computer that I use in the hospital, which I also adamently declined. 1 mo. later.....my new printer mysteriously wont even turn on anymore and my husbands credit card was fraudulently charged $600 of purchases. (on a credit card he never used) THIS fri, feb. 14th, we were contacted again by a representative who insisted I IMMEDIATELY get to a computer so that I may access a website that would refund my money as my security was being compromised and that my computer would CRASH by the weekend if I did NOT comply. it sounded very suspicious, so I declined. HE HUNG UP ON ME. when I contacted click4support on mon. morning to verify if they made contact they did not admit to it. BUT,...when I asked them if THEY had any knowledge of the phone number that called me.....THEY TOO HUNG UP ON ME suggesting they might both be in cooperation with each other.Desired Settlement: $199 if they are found to be fraudulently scamming people, and they are responsible for blocking my printer access after they apparently fixed it (to obtain my business again for repair) then I feel entitled.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I am sorry to say that I have read the response from the CLICK4SUPPORT business team, though, , my refunded money as promised according to an apparent letter they sent me ( I did not receive any correspondence at all) would be certainly appreciated in light of the fact that I was not afforded the services that we agreed upon, it is of MOST importance for me to see that this scam be recognized and put to an end. they are misrepresenting themselves and are trying to obtain access to peoples banking accounts with fraudulent calls of threats of potential disaster of a computer crash. Thankfully, I did not fall prey and give them my bank acct info so they could WIRE a refund back into my acct. INSTEAD steal money from exposed accts.

According to similar complaints documented on the complaints website, this has occured many times. Accordisng to their letter they SUPPOSEDLY sent me (i receieved no letter nor email from them) as I had NOT given them at any time any of this information so would make it impossible to communicate further with me by email/mail and equally as impossible to send me a REFUND I doubt I will see that.) I believe they attached a "supposed" letter of communication to me for ONLY the Revdex.com to see so that I might resolve the issue and not pursue further to avoid further investigation.

Sincerely,

Review: My personal computer crashed on 4/18/2014. A Click4Support pop-up surfaced and I responded. They claimed that my computer had been compromised with [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] and claimed they could fix it. I agreed to the cost of $2,000.00 to get that accomplished. I later received a call indicating that my payment did not go through and they found other issues on my computer that needed to be resolved. They issued paperwork for another $3,000.00 to be paid to [redacted] to get the problems resolved. After days of loading a number of programs on my computer I found that my computer was worse than ever. I then noticed that they had received my initial payment of $2,000.00. I tried reaching out to them to get the problems resolved on my computer and received busy signals, no answers and I decided to bring this transaction to a stop. I contacted my bank and closed that account. They then tried to capture the additional $3,000.00 which my bank put a stop on any additional funds coming out of my account. I contacted [redacted] to get their support and found the my computer has [redacted] and [redacted] on it. After a lengthily amount of time and effort, they ([redacted]) was able to resolve my problems. After a day, [redacted] of ** tried to contact me, but I did not respond. I do not feel they can not be trusted.Desired Settlement: The original $2,000.00 that they charged me.

Review: I have owned several personal computers over the last 15 years. On Sunday, April 19, 2015 I had just accessed my computer when I received a message saying my computer had been infected with a virus and advising me to call the phone number of Click4support to resolve the issue. I have never had this problem before so I was upset and called the number. While I was on the phone, they convinced me to let them fix the problem at a charge of $299. Then they proceeded to convince me to sign up for a 3 year service agreement that was $646 with tax. As the evening went on I became very concerned about my decision since I am retired and that was a large sum of money. I sent them a message saying I wanted to cancel the 3 year service agreement. When they called me Monday afternoon to ask what the problem was I explained that being retired I just didn't feel I had that kind of money to spend on their security software. The manager tried to tell me he could cancel the 3 year agreement and charge me $299 plus $100 for a 1 year service agreement. I told him that I did not want any service agreement but would pay for the fix. He still tried to get me to pay the extra $100 for the service. I told him that I would only pay the $299 for the fix or else I would report them so he finally agreed to that. After what I went thru with them I now wonder if I even had a virus and that maybe I was scammed especially since I have never had a problem in 15 years. I also feel $299 was an exorbitant amount for the fix. Could you please look into this matter and get back to me. Thank you.Desired Settlement: If the fee is way above what other companies charge for fixing a computer virus I would like a partial refund. Also I felt very pressured by their sales people to accept the service agreement so I would like an apology for the stress they put me thru.

Review: I called ###-###-####, and another number that this company uses is ###-###-####, after googling a number for [redacted] support. I needed assistance reseting an [redacted] that was locked with a passcode. The rep asked if I was using a PC and asked if he could remote in to my computer, so I followed his instructions and allowed him to remote in. He said that he could help reset the [redacted] and also help with updating my PC and remove unwanted programs and increase the speed of the laptop. He then offered me several packages ranging from $299 - $899. I explained that I would not pay that much and then he lowered the price another $100 and offered to fix the [redacted] and laptop for $199. I told him that there was no way that I was paying that much for his help. Prior to disconnecting his remote access to my computer, the rep deleted a file that was cruital to the booting up of my PC. After I hung up from him, I shut down the laptop and the next day tried logging in again. I got an error on the screen and was not able to access the internet or any of my programs. I dropped the laptop off at [redacted] and they confirmed that an important file was deleted and that it wasn't something that end users would have knowledge of. Do not call this company because they will purposely delete files if you do not purchase their service.Desired Settlement: In order to re-install the programs that were deleted or corrupted by this company, I was charged $333.00 from [redacted] to get the laptop back in working order. I'm sure the intent of the rep is to make the callers' computer un-usable so that they are forced to call back for assistance. As a settlement, I would like "Click For Support" to reimburse me the cost of getting my laptop back functioning again. These are devious tactics to gain customers.

Review: 2/18/14 I was accessing something on my computer when the Click4support came on and said my computer was infected and I needed malware. There was a charge for the program and 3-year subscription for $628. Program was installed, then started getting message on screen system full and would not access internet on 4/1/14. This was followed by phone calls telling me they were receiving error signs from my computer (4/2/13). 4/3/14 They scanned my computer, said 75% not functing, tried to sell me another program for $628. Said I just bought it 2 months ago. They said $9.99 for tuneup. I put in credit card numbers and they said could not take [redacted], [redacted], or [redacted](which I never had) cards. Wanted [redacted] card. I said it could only go on [redacted] card (only one I use online). He kept pushing for numbers. Said his name was [redacted] ID [redacted], used AAMMY,com to access computer, and I noticed systweak on file tab. I said the program must not be any good if showing 75% not functioning in only 2 months. He said would refund me $350, but could only refund on [redacted] card. When I refused, and said they could refund on the card it was purchased on, he said only [redacted] and give him numbers for credit union card. I saw on the screen he was using the credit card numbers to open an account with [redacted] in my name. He said he already got $600 from me, and he was closing my subscription and locking down my computer. That I could not access it without his login. At that time I shut off the computer, called my credit card company to stop payment a called [redacted] police (I am presently working in [redacted]). They referred me to ic3.gov, where I filed a fraud report. I then called [redacted] to file a fraud report and cancel that account.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund.

Review: Transferred to this company from ###-###-####.Told they are [redacted] certified techs that handle network hacking. [redacted] originally stated charge to fix and install security would be $199. was transferred, [redacted] rep code:[redacted] stated that because of tech fees, service, & state fees total charge 299 that I NOW owed. I reluctantly agreed in fear I actually did have service done & I was obligated to pay for. this whole time, he had me perform tasks on my computer where I was taken to a website where he then took over access to my computer for additional hours. I videoed this part on my cell to show my husband later. I was charged 299, then was told to have it from happening again I needed to be charged another 159 in which [redacted] having my debit card information stored used a FAKE signature to sign in agreement of my consent to charges. The company supposedly installed 3 items a "network security" which they won't release the name of,([redacted] and [redacted] both which my husband had already had installed and PAID for). After this discovery, I called the customer service SEVERAL times only to be placed on long periods of holds and disconnections. I tried clicking option 2 to be connected to a tech who then transferred me to a billing associate who still is refusing refund of $458. He stated that he NOW saw I had two programs installed already, so he can partially refund $240, but I still must pay $218 for work done to my computer, would not state what work was done! My husband finally got in from his business trip late this evening told me I was SCAMMED. They STOLE all our personal information when they TOOK CONTROL of the computer. I have received no refund as of yet but have several holds on my debit where they charged my account with my bank. I did cancel the card, but will have to dispute AFTER the charges clear. I need serious help in resolving this issue. It is now going to cost further money to take the computer to PCW for repairs due to THEIR hacking and scam.Desired Settlement: full refund of charges, plus additional reimbursement for PCW to have our computer taken to in the morning to have it made "safe"

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Please be advised that Mrs. [redacted] received a full refund yesterday. Please find attached a copy of the email communication that was sent to her today.

Good Afternoon Mrs. [redacted],

Review: I contacted what I thought was [redacted] support for an [redacted] touch that needed repaired. I later found out that it was a company called click4support. when I contacted them they never corrected me on my assumption that I was talking to [redacted]. They had me connect my [redacted] to the computer and then allow remote access to the computer for them to work it. The technician supposedly attempted to connect to the [redacted] several times without success so he ran scans to determine the problem. the scans supposedly revealed that there was a hacker who installed a background program to spy on all devices on our network. This "program" was preventing repair. He showed me this supposed program called [redacted] and [redacted] searched it showing me an article on it being "spy program". I have since [redacted] searched it and it is a STANDARD windows program, interesting side note I have not been able to find the original article he showed me. He also informed me that I had multiple foreign computers logged on to my network. He informed me that I needed to have a [redacted] certified tech "unhack'my network, retrieve my info and install a security software on my computer. I asked if my [redacted] antivirus and about just pulling the plug on my internet over the weekend to think about it. He informed me [redacted] was not sufficient and that I obviously did not understand they had all my info this was very important not to wait. I like an it then agreed to be "transferred" to the "online [redacted] certified tech" as no certified techs were in my area another "[redacted] search". This tech sold me their service to unhack me and then sold me at $199. [redacted] security essentials, later found out was a FREE [redacted] program. Supposedly thru the remote access they installed this and unhacked me. After talking to other computer people (local) none of this actually occurred what did occur was a disk scan, no unhacking of the network and no install of the [redacted] security essentials. Their customer service is an answering machine.Desired Settlement: I would like to see a full refund as I feel that this company used high pressure and false tactics to scam me. But because I went out and closed out all my bank accounts and credit cards and opened new ones d/t their lies it will be hard for them to do a direct refund so they will need to contact me to determine a way to refund my money.

Business

Response:

Review: Company did a bait and switch in order to provide diagnostic services and 24/7 1 year tech support.

They said they were with [redacted] but they were not.

Click 4 support Case # XXXXX

Click4support performed on my computer on August 5, 2013 for the remote diagnostic services and one year technical support for $199.00 on my credit card I am requesting a refund from you under false pretense. This is a bait and switch scheme on their end.

I clicked on the link that said [redacted] virus customer service and got Click4support technical third party and said I need help entering in my new license for the [redacted] software virus/PC tune up and it kept popping up in an error. The tech on the other line on the phone said no problem I can help you with the license issues. I then asked are you with [redacted] and the tech said Yes. Then he does a remote hook up on my computer and says the reason why you cannot hook up your license with [redacted] is because you have been hijacked. So they show me some foreign address which I don't know where they got it from and they say we will run your computer thru some of our diagnostics. They then asked for the credit card # in order for them to run the diagnostics. When you are already in remote with them and invited them into your computer system and you thought they were with [redacted] virus customer service you feel that you are held hostage to be force to accept there terms of agreement.

It looks like they installed the free trial [redacted] virus software and free CCleaner, Malware Bits, Bitmap Foam on my computer. They didn't even help me to begin with in registering my [redacted] virus/PC tune up software in inputting the license number. That was originally why I called to begin with. After I got off the phone with them and the remote was done I was checking on what they have all done and noticed that they only installed the trial free [redacted] software and didn't register me with the license software under [redacted] virus/PC tune up the software that I bought

I had to do that myself when I did finally locate the correct link (approx. 5 links down the goggle search) to the [redacted] customer support hotline. They were able to register my license software with them. Once I registered with them I have 24/7 tech support for one year.

I feel this is a bait and switch on Click 4 support part to get me to register with Click 4 support for a one year tech support help for $199.

Especially when at the end you force me to write something about how the service was. When I would have preferred to do that later after checking out what you have all done if I was happy with all that you did.

I did contact the company on August 12 by phone in the tech support and asked them to tell me exactly was was done on my computer (I have yet to received a email stating exactly what they did for my computer on August 5th and also emailed to their customer support them stating that I was not happy with their bait and switch scheme and wanted a refund.

I told them in the email that I do not want the one year click4 tech support with you and want a refund of $199.00 back on my credit card. The reason why I want a refund is due to false pretense of who you actually were info and that the company resorts to a business model of a " bait and switch scheme."

I now am nervous with Click4support seeing that other people have also been scammed with Click 4 support that they have installed some invisible software that could be compromising my security and password info.

Sincerly

Desired Settlement: Would like a refund back on my credit card for $199.00.

Review: I was having slow computer issues and clicked on [redacted] but ended up with Click4Support, which initially I did not know that they were not [redacted]. They mislead me to believe they were part of [redacted]! Shame on them!! I allowed them to remote into my computer to because they said they discovered that I had "network security" issues that they were going to clean up, and that it would take a couple of hours to do so. I asked them about [redacted] and they said [redacted] could not take care of problem cause they only deal with viruses and not network security issues. Really?? I only realized they were not [redacted] when they said I had to pay $299 for repairs and gave me Click4Support as name that would appear on my bank statement. What they claimed to have fixed was NOT FIXED at all. I still have same issues and more. I filed complaint with [redacted] re [redacted], Complaint #[redacted], and with my [redacted] bank, who is aware of this company and their deceptive practices, and will try to get reimbursement to me. They are investigating company. [redacted]NOTE: On Business Name Form, I meant to put Click4Support, instead of Click$Support. A typo mistake I made[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want them to pay for [redacted] to clean up the mess they made in my computer. When on computer and in [redacted] account, mail disappears then reappears. I log off [redacted], log off computer and shut down. Come back later to find I AM STILL LOGGED as USER and AM STILL LOGGED IN TO [redacted] MAIL!! How so?? They must be remoting into my computer searching for info! They created WORSE problem than I had before! That's the least they can do to provide me relief from the damage they created!!!

Review: I lost an important document. I thought I was calling [redacted], and I was misled to believe the place I called was the [redacted]. The person who took my call asked if he could connect to my laptop, and I agreed (thinking he worked for [redacted].) He said he couldn't retrieve my document, and that I had 10.000+ errors on my computer. He told me he was transferring me to a higher level tech, and I should ask him about protection. He said the next tech may be able to help me retrieve my document. I was then connected to another tech. While that tech checked some things then went to my programs and showed me that all important programs were shut off. He asked if I anyone shared my internet, and I told him my husband and kids have laptops, smart phones, [redacted], a tablet, and home computer. He said none of our devices are protected and something was shutting down all my programs and deleting all my documents (and my whole's family's devices have been impacted too). He told me all of our devices could be fixed using programs for $299. Panicked, I agreed. He then said they could install a security program for $499, which would protect this from ever happening again on any of our devices for the next year. I was hesitant, and he pressured me for my credit card info. I felt it was my only option for protecting my family. I agreed. While looking for my credit card, I noticed a different credit card was missing from my wallet, and started crying under the pressure of the lost important document, lost credit card, and the high pressure to protect my family's devices. After I agreed to the one year protection, he then started to pressure me to buy 2 or 3 years of service. When I told him that I needed to consult my husband, as I wasn't comfortable charging almost $800 on my credit card, the man I spoke to tried to talk me out of it. I knew I was scammed. I told him to stop working on my computer and to refund my money immediately. I told him that I didn't trust him, and I refused to verify my credit card. My card was charged, and he connected me to another tech connected to "retrieve" my document. The tech continued to run a scan upon me directing him to stop, and it looked to me like no files were infected. I again said I didn't want the security service anymore and I wanted a full refund. I then saw a receipt and noticed click4you support not [redacted] on the bill, and I became angrier. I was transferred several times to request a refund, and I told each person I wanted everything removed and I wanted a full refund. I no longer wanted any goods and services and they have no right to be on my computer. They refused my full refund and continued doing things to my computer upon my direction to stop.Desired Settlement: A Full Refund of $798. I was misled, and through deceit was led to believe I was on the phone with [redacted]

Review: I received a call today from this company regarding a charge they charged me for online support for an [redacted] product. When I called them I asked if their company was [redacted] and they said yes. I went ahead with the support call and they resolved my problem. However I did some checking and found that they misrepresented them as [redacted]. I called and complained and told them they were wrong in the way they conducted the call. They agreed fro refund a small portion of the money they charged. I was satisfied and the call ended.

Today I received a call telling me that the Revdex.com had closed them down and they were going to refund my money. They said that I would fill out a form at Revdex.com and I would receive my money within 1/2 hour. I lived a long time in NY and am skeptical of anyone offering to "give" me money. I could hardly understand him and there was a lot of noise on the call. I told him that I was on the Revdex.com site and asked where the form was. He said that they would give me the form and right way I'm thinking they ant my IP address. I told him there was no way I was letting them into my computer and he said," Well, then the hell with you" and hung up.Desired Settlement: If indeed they are refunding my money they can send me a check. Please let me know if this call was legitimate or not.

Review: I recently purchased service from click4support. It was very confusing as I thought I was dealing directly with the manufacturer of my laptop, which is [redacted]. They told me I needed all of these services, which I did not completely understand. My computer was not loading properly, and they claimed I needed extra software, a firewall, and that my computer was unsecure. I wasn't sure what to do, so I purchased what they claimed was needed . They made it seem like my computer would never work unless I purchased their service. After talking to a family member, I realized that my computer problem was very solvable and should not have costed $199.00 to fix. I called to request a refund. They claim a full 45 day full refund, but did not give me one. They tried to negotiate with me and charge me $150, then $100. There terms of service advertises a full refund, but they kept trying to charge me. All I wanted was a full refund and to be treated with respect. I feel they are very misleading and attempted to take advantage of me at every step, since I have no background with computers.Desired Settlement: I just wanted a full refund for a service that was undesirable. They charged me $200.00.

Ms. [redacted] has been fully refunded. Our United States Technical Team is prepared to resolve any further issues expediently. They can be contacted directly at ###-###-####. My Sincere Apology for any inconvenience and I glad we could honor our 100% Money Back Guarantee.

An agreement executed 10-26-2014
Permanent security + 3 years technical support + online back up(100GB) at a cost of $1298.00. I've used them several times in the past and have been pleased with there help. Now I find there no longer in business at least there phone # isn't good. As of now I'm out of help and out my money.

Review: I took a contract for full support and virvus protection in February of 2015. I no longer have this protection, the icons have been removed from my screen. I have called them numerous time, and get no answer. This contract was for 3 years at a cost of $1497.00.Desired Settlement: If this company cannot fulfill the contract, I would like a full refund.

Review: December 24,2014 through the phone paid for a computer service, Click4Support. I paid $159.98. Invoice #9647. After much discussion/conversation I reconfirmed several times the length of time I could call in for service. I was told at least 2 years. I called on June 29 with a computer issue and it was resolved and the gentlemen said to call back if issue re-occurs. I utilized service on 1/12/2015. I call again on July 7 with another issue/question and I was told by [redacted] and then a manager names Ashuposh that the service was: first time he told me one time service only and then he came back and told me that it was for 7 months and it was expired. This is completely two different answers. I expressed that I was mislead because in December I confirmed the length of service because otherwise, would have not purchased such. I told them this is misleading and not being truthful to the customer. All he could say was sorry. He also told me the service I received on June 29 should not have been. All I ever received from company was the invoice.Desired Settlement: I would like to request a refund because this is deception and misleading the customer -- $159.98. The only other option would be is to have it in writing for continued service until December 2016.

Review: I called [redacted] about problems with connectivity, and they said they could not fix the problem and to call the computer maker, which is [redacted]. I believe I was either given that number by a [redacted] Technician, or directly connected. I was led to believe that I was talking to a [redacted] representative who told me that my computer had been severely compromised and damaged, and then sent me to their anti-hacking service named [redacted]. [redacted] did a Platinum Fix for $599 telling me that 11 foreigners were hacking into my computer, and I was in imminent danger of my bank account being breeched. I called back [redacted] later on and they said they did not refer people to [redacted]. I am afraid I have been scammed. I got an invoice with a different Company name Click 4 Support, and different phone no.

This started with [redacted] giving me a bogus phone number for [redacted]. When this number, ###-###-#### is called back all you get is music. This the number is the one I talked on for 54 minutes with [redacted] and [redacted]. I seriously doubt that [redacted] will admit to sending me to a fake [redacted] Number, but this suggest that the scam starts at [redacted]. I need to know wether I should be calling the [redacted], because this situation is very strange.Desired Settlement: Not sure right now. I need to talk directly to a Revdex.com representative about the bogus phone number for [redacted], and what to do about [redacted].
