Colony Brands, Inc. Reviews (659)

This company not only deceives their customers through bias/altered reviews, but also prices their merchandise well over their value. I purchased several items (3 to be exact) and they charged me $388.46. When I received my package, I couldn't believe how poor of quality every item was. After deciding to return the items, I was told by USPS that I would be charged for the return shipping (over $35). I will NEVER shop from this company, I will write honest reviews about their disgusting merchandise, and make a claim through the Revdex.com of WI.

The put me on hold for over an hour, hoping I would hang up. I have asked for a paid return shipping label to no avail.

Review: I ordered a recliner chair from the company Seventh Avenue. The company claimed the recliner was shipped out to me on the 13th of August 2014. I never received the recliner chair. When I called Seventh Avenue to complain about not receiving my purchase, they provided with the following number for Fed EX [redacted] When I contacted Fed Ex with my questions/concerns about my alleged shipment; Fed Ex stated they had no such record of a shipment being sent from this company to me. At that time I contacted my credit card to cancel payment to Seventh Avenue; for failure to deliver product purchased. I have communicated this issue with Seventh Avenue for the past five months and they continue to send me threatening billing notices for a recliner chair I never received.Desired Settlement: I wish for Seventh Avenue to adjust their records to correctly reflect the fact that I did not receive this item and that I do not owe them any monies.

Response:

We received the correspondence from

the Revdex.com regarding your order #[redacted] placed via phone on

8/11/2014. We are sorry for any disappointment with the delivery of the Zero

Gravity Chair.

Our records and tracking information

indicate the chair was shipped 8/13/2014 via FedEx Home. We regret after you

were in contact with FedEx we did not hear back from you. We would have gladly

offered a replacement chair to be sent or offered credit. Rather, there was a

chargeback from your credit card. With no additional contact, the order balance

was transferred to accounts receivable, and notices sent for payment

requests.

We have credited your account

accordingly, which will reflect a zero balance within the next twenty four to

seventy two hours. We regret any inconvenience, but appreciate the opportunity

to explain. Sincerely,

Review: Seventh Avenue (11) has been sending me e-mails about the products you are selling. You checked my Credit with Transunion without my knowing about it and did a hard inquiry on my Transunion credit report. I never ask you to check my credit for any reason. You just automatically checked my credit. I don't want any Company checking my credit. You have ruined my Credit with Transunion and I never told you to check my credit. You had no reason what so ever to check my credit unless I gave you my signed permission to check my credit. This is inadequate, incomplete and in inaccurate, A fraudulent inquiry of my credit. I did at one time about a year ago speak to some one there about the procedure that you go through to get credit from you but this has been a year ago. I notice on my credit report this month you checked my credit. The inquiry was not on my February credit report not at all. I keep up with my credit reports every (2) months to keep Companies like you from checking my credit. You made a hard inquiry on my Transunion credit report. This was and unauthorized credit check, you took it on your own to check my credit. If you cannot provide documentation to prove you were obligated to check my credit then please remove your hard inquiry from my credit report from Transunion. I have also notified the BUREAU of CONSUMER FINANCIAL POTECTION AGENCY as well and also the Federal Trades COMMISSION of CONSUMER RESPONSE CENTER. I AM LETTING THEM KNOW OF YOUR UNAUTHORIZE INQUIRY OF MY CREDIT REPORT. YOU DID NOT HAVE AUTHORIZATION FROM ROBERTA [redacted] TO CHECK MY CREDIT. I have also notified Transunion as well. You had no right to check my credit. This credit belongs to me and not you. I never gave you or any one else permission to check my credit, If you have proof in writing that I signed a contract for you to check then by all means send a copy to me and to Transunion if not then please remove your hard inquiry from my credit report. you know this is not the right way. Don't ever check my credit againDesired Settlement: I WANT YOU TO REMOVE YOUR HARD INQUIRY FROM MY CREDIT REPORT WITH Transunion. DON'T SIT THERE AND SAY I TOLD YOU TO CHECK MY CREDIT BECAUSE I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THIS.YOU HAD NO RIGHT TO CHECK MY CREDIT. YOU TOOK IT ON YOUR OWN AND DID THIS. I AM NOT STUPID NOR AM I CRAZY THIS HAS NOT BEEN ON MY CREDIT WITH ANY OF THE THREE MAJOR CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES. I KNOW BECAUSE I GET A NEW CREDIT REPORT FROM EACH CREDIT REPORTING AGENCY EVERY (2) MONYHS AND YOUR NAME HAS NOT BEEN ON MY CREDIT REPORT.

Response:

Seventh Avenue's records indicate Ms. [redacted] placed an order on August 13, 2014 for a variety of bed linens. In conjunction with the order Ms. [redacted] requested a Seventh Avenue credit account be opened in her name. As part of a consumer initiated credit transaction, Seventh Avenue had the right to request a copy of Ms. [redacted] consumer credit report in order to evaluate her creditworthiness. Contrary to Ms. [redacted] contention, written authorization is not required for this process. After reviewing her credit file Seventh Avenue determined that a credit account could be only opened if Ms. [redacted] agreed to make a down payment prior to shipment of the order. Ms. [redacted] chose not to make the requested down payment and the account was not opened.

Consumer

Response:

Ms. [redacted] did not apply for any credit from you in August of 2014. When I called your Company to ask about the beddings you told me I had to pay some money down this was in January 2014 not August of 2014.I never applied for any credit from you in August of 2014. This is not true and besides if you were going to check my credit it would have been in January of 2014. You have now just listed it on my credit this year. It appeared on my Credit this year March of 2014 why was this? even if you checked my credit back in August of 2014 then why is it now appearing on my Credit Report last month. You have not been on my Credit Report until last month. It does not take 8 months to appear on any ones credit report. I have been getting credit before and even now it shows with-in the next few days. This is not true. You never told me you were checking my Credit any way and I never asked you to check my Credit. I was only asking how much I would have to pay and you told me that I had to pay something down. I decided against this because at the time I was moving and I didn't want the items coming to that address after I had moved. You told me this in January of 2014 not August 2014 The reason I know I didn't do it in August is because all of my Credit Reports had a block on them I don't know how you checked my Credit with a block on all three Credit Reporting Agencies. No Company can check my Credit without prior approval from me. These blocks has been on my Credit sense August 1,2014. This is not true. you couldn't have checked my Credit with any Credit Reporting Agency with out prior consent from me. This is why I know this is not true. I never gave you consent at any time to check my Credit. You never told me you were checking my credit from January 2014, you never told me this and you never ask me to check my credit. I did not give you my consent to check my credit at any given time. How you checked my credit in August of 2014 I do not know but I never gave you my consent to check my Credit with any Credit Reporting Agency. I did not apply for any Credit from you. I only ask if I had to pay any thing down that was it. You did this on your own with out my consent in August. your inquiry appeared on my Credit last month which was 8 months ago from the time you say you checked my credit. This was in January of 2014 that I called you and ask about the beddings. I never contacted you in August of 2014. If this was true then why is it now appearing on my Credit Repot March of 2015. This is not true, I say this because it is true. I had blocks on my Credit Reports the entire month of August. You must have founded a way to check my Credit in August because like I said all of my Credit Reports had blocks on them. I never ask for you to check my credit at any given time.

Business

Response:

Seventh Avenue apologizes for the typographical error in its last response. The preamble to the statement including the date "Seventh Avenue reiterates its previous response..." should make it obvious that this was an unintended error. With regard to the remaining comments in Ms. [redacted] rebuttal, there is no new information and Seventh Avenue's business records remain the same. Ms. [redacted] placed an order on August 13, 2014 that included a request for credit. A letter was sent to her attention on August 15, 2014 indicating she would need to make a down payment before her order could be released for shipment. Ms. [redacted] would not - could not - have been told that she would need to make a down payment to receive her order until after she submitted an application for credit.

Consumer

Response:

Ms. [redacted] did no such thing. I talked with someone in 2013 but never in 2013 or 2014.The credit bureau has no request from you in 2013 when I actually spoke with someone at Seventh Avenue (11)Your Name appeared on my credit report in March of 2015. There was no inquiry in 2013 nor 2014. You have your dates all mixed up as to when I spoke with someone over there. I never ask for any credit not one time. I ask if I had to pay something down? they told me I had to pay something down. I did not pay it in 2013 because I was moving as I stated before. I moved and I did not pay any thing down. I did not want the merchandise sent to the old Address this is the only reason I did not pay the down payment. I am not talking about the merchandise I am talking about the inquiry you made on my credit report in March of 2015 of which I never applied for any credit from you. I only asked a question that was it. When I called you all, all I needed was and answer about if there was a down payment that was it. Transunion said there was no inquiry on my credit from you until March 2015. They checked it several times and there was no inquiry in 2013 or 2014. It only came up in March of 2015. If you don't believe me then call Transunion. There was no inquiry doing the pass 2 years. I had a block on my credit sense August 1st 2014 so I don't know how you can say you checked my credit with Transunion. There is no way unless you went through another way to check my credit. TransUnion is telling the truth. They are not going to tell you something that is not true. They checked both years several times and there was no inquiry from you except in March of 2015. I did not apply for any credit from you not ever. Asking a question is not credit checking. I don't care how you put it. I never asked you to check my credit not one time. This is inadequate, incomplete and inaccurate. I never ask for any credit from you. Not one time. There are blocks on all three major credit reporting agencies, so I don't know how you checked my credit. I am not at all pleased with this. You have lower my credit score and ratings. If I had needed you to check my credit I would have told you to do so.

Review: I ordered a lovely shirt, Elena Top that was part of a multi order including different household items. So far, I've recieved the entire order, which took almost a month to deliver, EXCEPT for the shirt. The company is telling me that the shirt was part of the original order and delivered; I am being charged for it yet I HAVE NOT RECIEVED IT. I've even emailed the CEO of SCCompanies who is the conglomerate behind Seventh Avenue and she has failed to contact me regarding this issue. I am also being charged interest on the item. I want to be reimbursed OR send me the shirt - it's ONLY a $50 item!Desired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed OR send me the shirt - it's ONLY a $50 item!

Review: I received a catalog from this company, Seventh Avenue, that said that I was pre-approved for $400 of credit but I have never heard of this company and never asked for a catalog or asked for credit and I am concerned that they have my information after researching them on the internet esp Revdex.com. I have called and requested that they remove me from their system and they wouldn't comply. They just told me not to purchase and that didn't make me feel comfortable because any other legit company can remove you from their database but this one didn't seem to want to do that.

Either they are too lazy to remove or they other reasons why they won't but I want to removed from all of their databases because they have more than one mail catalog.

Thank you,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want to completely removed from their database esp so that this company doesn't have any way to attach themselves to my credit.

We received the correspondence from

the Revdex.com regarding your request to be removed from our mailing

listing. We appreciate your bringing these concerns to our attention, and

apologize for any disappointment when you called for assistance with your

request. Unfortunately, given this information alone we are unable to address

Review: I recently disputed a account with Revdex.com with Seventh Ave. Account#[redacted].... due to the fact this account had inaccuracies. I wanted this account deleted due to the errors on all 3 credit reports Experain Trans Union and Equifax. I got a response back from Seventh Ave on 03/17/2016 saying they agreed to delete this account due to the fact that the balance was so small. Its been going on 2 weeks and its still on my Experian credit report and Trans Union credit report. This has caused me great trouble from getting a home loan.Desired Settlement: Im asking for Seventh Ave to delete account#[redacted].... From Experian and Trans Union so I can go forward with my home loan.

Business

Response:

An electronic deletion request was sent on March 31, 2016 to each of the major consumer reporting agencies. If one or more of the agencies has failed to comply with the deletion request Ms. Ingram will need to address the issue with the agency directly.

Review: I opened an account with this company early last year and made one purchase. I received one statement and mailed my first payment in to the company. They have not only failed to credit this payment, but they never sent any more statements which list the account number for payments to be made. I made numerous attempts via phone and email to obtain my account information, but never received it and was told by customer service via phone that I could not make a payment without my account number. I informed the company numerous times that I did not know my account number. I understand they they may need to verify my identification so I even asked if they would just mail me a statement, but I never received that either. It has now come to my attention since I am trying to purchase a home, that this account is reporting as delinquent and closed/charged off. This is unfair because I made every attempt that I could think of to pay them and they failed to respond to me or provide me the proper information. I always pay all of my accounts on time and to see this reporting on my credit file was so disappointing when I know that all efforts on my part have been made to pay.Desired Settlement: I have no problem paying this account and want the company to provide me with the account information needed to pay my account and a correction to be made to my credit report.

Response:

Midnight Velvet has no record of receiving returned mail for the account statements mailed to Ms. [redacted] attention. Review: I ordered nothing from Home at Five and I have no account with home at five; however, someone completed an online request for merchandise, gave no credit card number (I was told the fraudster gave an ID number from a mailing label that the company sent to me.) The Bill was sent to an incorrect apartment number (to #5 wrong - mine is #3). The goods were shipped to [redacted], [redacted] the next digits are [redacted] (this may be a po box) They were billed to Ann Rothschild, [redacted]. Also my last name has no S in it but the spellcheck keeps adding it.Desired Settlement: Tell the business to go after the receiver for money. Tell them to block the account that the person opened in my name, be sure to contact credit agencies to say I was not involved in this purchase, contact FBI because this problem appears to have started because people have been breaking into my mail box. The business asked me to fill out a 4 or 5 page form said no. The consumer protection agency person said give that business NO Information - it may be a scam.

If Ms. [redacted] has reported this incident to the police, Home at Five would appreciate receiving a copy of the police report to assist in resolving this matter as quickly as possible. Please note that Home at Five will not be contacting the FBI or any other law enforcement agency regarding the possibility that someone is breaking into Ms. [redacted] mail box.

Montgomery Ward has confirmed that Ms. [redacted] has received and cashed the refund check. However, a review of Wards records indicates that she was told on multiple occasions that her check was mailed on July 1, 2014, when it was not mailed until July 11. Montgomery Ward offers its apologies to Ms. [redacted] for these errors. Upon receipt of documentation of NSF or other fees charged by her bank, Montgomery Ward will reimburse Ms. [redacted] for any such fees assessed after July 1, 2014.

Review: There was an account opened in my name with this company without my knowledge. I have contacted this company by phone twice and sent an email in order to resolve this issue.. They have neglected to send me paperwork needed. All they have done is sent me bills.. I have no problem proving this was not me who opened the account they will just not allow me to do so.. I would also like all the information that was used to open this account to file charges against the person who stole my identity..

Seventh Avenue has completed its investigation and has coded the account as fraudulent to prevent any future shipments to the address. Please note that no information regarding the account has been furnished to a consumer reporting agency.

Review: A friend ordered a Christmas gift from the Swiss colony company and sent it to me and my wife. The are sending me a bill every week for payment for items I did not order. I have contacted swiss colony about the bill and info of my friends address telling them to send the bill to them but they keep telling me that I ordered this gift. They setup an account in my name which I didn't apply for. I asked about this account but they told they could not tell me about it over the phone. My wife and I have called this company seven times and every time I called they have gave me a diffent story about this account. I asked if they had my social security and they told me no. They sent me a fraud kit to fill out but I will not give them more information about myself. They also told me they would send my account to their collection department for payment. They also said they would send a report to the credit bureau about my account. My question is how does a company like this just setup an account from a shipment they send outDesired Settlement: I want the account they opened in my name closed and to change their billing practices. I would also like an apology for the unprofessional business practices they use.

Business

Response:

Swiss Colony’s records indicate Mr. [redacted] called on February 18, 2014 regarding the order. He was sent two documents: an identity theft affidavit and a two-party letter. The two-party letter allows Swiss Colony to transfer responsibility for payment of an account from one individual to another. Obviously, such a transfer requires the consent of the party taking on the liability. To do otherwise would allow consumers to transfer responsibility for their debts to anyone they wished.

Review: I was trying to buy something durning Christmas and they were out of stock. But they already billed my bank card. However they refunded me it ($83.25). They said they refunded me twice however not true my bank gave me a temp credit then they keep calling day after day. Response:

We received the correspondence from the Revdex.com in regards to your order #[redacted] placed 12/7/2014 via internet for two Entertainment/Learning Tablets. We are sorry for any confusion regarding your refund. Refunds are most often returned in the same manner in which they are received. This would have occurred if the order had been paid in full with your card. Your order was credited when the tablets were no longer available and the refunded down payment amount was posted and would have been returned via refund check within seven to twenty one days. When we received your call 12/16/2014 requesting the refund be returned to your card, we asked you to allow 24-48 hours to complete the transaction. The refund was completed to your card on 12/16/2014 with a reference #[redacted]. In the interim, your request to your bank for the temporary credit also occurred. This allowed your card to be credited twice. Your bank sent us notice they had issued credit, which resulted in your refund account being charged $83.25 because in order to give you the temporary credit, your bank then charged us. The best course of action to amend this concern is to contact your bank, The 5th 3rd Bank of record, with the bank chargeback reference # VANTIV [redacted] to retract the transaction. As soon as this is completed your account balance should reflect a zero balance. We regret any inconvenience, but appreciate the opportunity to explain.Montgomery Ward

Review: This company has sent my information to the credit bureau's saying I owe them 16.00 and I don't owe anything. I received 3 items from this company (ginny's) and all 3 items were damaged on arrival. I shipped back these items, and this company has been billing me for this amount over, and over again, and I don't owe them anything. I noticed that finally Ginny's sent my 16.00 charge to the credit bureau's and it has effected my credit score pretty badly. According to Transunion credit bureau Ginny's has put a note saying this was a charge off. I have contacted Transunion and they did not delete this item, because of what Ginny's told them, which is not true.Desired Settlement: Adjust the outstanding bill as payed/not owed, and have this taken off my credit reports.

We received your correspondence from

the Revdex.com regarding order #[redacted] placed internet 2/25/2014.

We regret any confusion regarding your order.

Our records indicate that your

original order consisted of two Holmes Tower Fans and one Book Safe. We received

a customer service call 3/29/2014 letting us know that the fans did not work.

Return labels were requested at the time of the call, and were sent to your

email address 3/31/2014. We follow up calls 3/31/2014, 4/1/2014, 4/3/2014, and

4/8/2014 which records show were all in regard to the fans. No indication was

made that the Book Safe was unsatisfactory or that it was being returned. The

two Holmes Tower Fans were entered into our system by our returns processing

facility 4/14/2014. The Book Safe was not returned.

The original order total is $190.80.

We received a down payment of $19.08 on 3/2/2014, and credit of $155.90 was

issued for the fans 4/14/2014. This left a remaining balance of $15.82. Because

the order was placed using our credit plan, finance charges of $.24 were applied

for four consecutive months leading to a total balance of

$16.78.

We hope this information has been

helpful to you. We appreciate the opportunity to explain.

Seventh Avenue does not accept or offer deletion of account information as a condition for settling an account. Seventh Avenue's records indicate this has been explained to Ms. [redacted] on more than one occasion. Ms. [redacted] account balance was reduced to zero and the account information was updated to reflect the settlement. Seventh Avenue does not believe there is a reason to delete or modify information that accurately reflects the payment history and current status of Ms. [redacted] account.

Review: Midnight Velvet advertised a contest where you submitted a letter and picture on why you should receive a get away week-end to Chicago. I tried 3x's on the internet and the page did nothing. As if it were not a page. I then called the company to complain and was given an address to 'send' my entry. The post office sent letter back saying no such address. I called again and wanted name/number of CEO. They would not give it to me. A "Nancy' said she was giving complaint to her boss and would get back with me by July 8th. I still have heard nothing and the contest is over. I feel if it had been a real contest I could have easily won.Desired Settlement: I feel after all the hassle I deserve the week-end/ or cash to take a week-end.

Response:

Hi [redacted]

Review: December 2015 I pulled my credit reporting due to working with a lender to purchase a home. We noticed that Midnight Velvet was on my credit report for charged off account amounting to $123. It was suggested by my loan officer that I see if this charged off account can be taken off of my credit report in any type of way.

January 11, 2016 I sent a verification request of debt with an offer to pay in full for return of removal of midnight velvet from my timelines without any response. I waited over 30 days for a response.

February 22, 2016 I called into Midnight Velvet twice. The first time was to validate the debt. I have no recollection of using midnight velvet and were living with people that could have easily ordered things in my name... but without proof of such I told the CSR I was willing to pay to take off my report. She notified me that it had been returned to them from a collection agency.. gave me the amount due as of that day... and told me it would show on my credit as a paid charged off. I ended that call, telling the CSR I would think about it and call back. I let my loan officer know and he said it had to be removed, not simply marked as paid and to try again.

I called back a second time on February 22, 2016 shortly after 1pm and spoke with AnnaMarie in the credit department. I let her know my situation, that I did not know of this being on my credit until recently- and that I was willing to pay it just to get it off of my credit reports. This call lasted 25 minutes as she placed me on hold several times as she agreed to ask a person "higher up" if my request was even willing to be done. She finally came back after placing me on hold a 3rd time and told me that she spoke to someone in the credit department and they told her that if I was able to make a payment in full right then and there, then after 24-48 hrs of payment clearing, they would send a letter asking for removal of the acct from my timelines. I agreed and paid 123.58 on that phone call. I asked for proof of this agreement and was also told that after payment clears, I can call back and request such. I have my own proof of said phone call.

I gave it well over a week before I called to confirm the agreement made on Feb 22nd. At that time a different CSR named Andrea told me that there was no such agreement ever, and whoever I made it with didn't know what they were talking about. She claimed that there where no notes on said agreement. I asked if they record their calls and that would be their proof, to which she lied and said no - when it clearly states when you call the company that calls may be recorded and monitored for quality and training purposes. I have worked as a CSR for years prior and I know that supervisors can review and pull calls. I asked her several times to speak to a supervisor and she did not afford me that. I asked her for a name of a supervisor and she would only repeat her own name. Then, without warning, she transferred my call to the ordering department.

I explained my situation to the next CSR and she apologized for the former's very unprofessional behavior. She found a supervisor in the credit department named Rashad and passed me on to him. He seemed to be uninformed or confused at best.

I told him that I was calling to confirm that said account would be taken off of my credit reports. He stated to me that the acct was already returned to their company. I told him that I am not calling to question any reporting done by any collection agency because there was none, only from Midnight Velvet. I continued by stating that I knew the company had the account back from the collection agency as I found that out the day I made the payment. I told him I wanted this account off of my credit reports as I was promised on Feb 22nd. He stated I would get a letter from them and that it would be taken care of. I then let him know that as long as it was off my credit I am okay with that... and that the only letter I received from them so far was one acknowledging payment.Desired Settlement: As of this day March 8th, 2016, I am still holding off with applying for a home loan with due to Midnight Velvet's reporting still being on my credit timelines. They have not done what they promised me they would do on February 22nd and remove their reporting - which was the main reason I paid this account in full that I honestly have no recollection of ever having. I want them to do as promised me and expedite it quickly. I also have been waiting over 2 weeks and a day for a letter as well, stating such agreement and have not received that notice - I only received a letter from them stating a payment was made, which is not good enough for me. Keep your promises and do not lie to people on the phone just to get the payments you want. Pull the phone call of the day I made payment and refer to your employees if protocol was not done correctly.... do not take it out on me. I know this is in my name and I have done my part now you keep yours.

Midnight Velvet offers its apologies to Ms. [redacted] for her experience with its credit representatives. We will be reviewing her complaint with the individuals involved to address the issues she has raised. More directly, however, Midnight Velvet has sent an electronic deletion notice to the consumer reporting agencies. The information regarding Ms. [redacted]'s account should be deleted within the next 24 hours as the agencies update their records.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I received a response from the company on the 16th stating that electronic deletion was requested and should occur within 24 hrs as agencies update their records. This was acceptable to me, yet tomorrow will be a week and the referenced account has still not been removed, nor can any of the agencies confirm to me that they ever received said request.

Review: I placed an order in May 2015 and I returned the product. The company is charging me accrued fees for shipping (return cost) I don't have a problem giving them the return fee but they have decided to add extra fees for a return shipping label and I don't have their product at all, I returned it. It was false advertisement to not tell me that I would have to pay for a shipping label at $7.99 and also pay the return fee for a non pre pay return label, which means when I took it to the post office, I had already paid for it to be shipped, now they are charging me $50.00 total.Desired Settlement: I want to pay the $21.95 owed and I want the other extra miscellaneous fees dropped. It was false advertisement to not tell me that I would have to pay for a shipping label at $7.99 and also pay the return fee for a non pre pay return label, which means when I took it to the post office, I had already paid for it to be shipped, now they are charging me $50.00 total.
