Review: On Febrary 24 I ordered a windchie from this company and paid by check. Was notified by phone the following week that the item was no longer avaiable so I asked for a refund a I received a letter 30 days later saying a refund would be issued since then I have called several times and each time I get the runaround today I was told it would be issued on the 19th and I should receive it in 7 to 10 days Have heard all this infor before except the date keeps changing.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund of $27.94 within a week

Consumer

Response:

I have received 2 emails from country door the first is the same runaround they have given me since the end of February about 30 to 45 days to issue a refund, and the second just received says this is a credit problem and I should contact the credit office If they would use the time they have taken to give me the runaround, they could have sent me a check.

Business

Response:

We received the correspondence from the Revdex.com in regards to your order placed 3/1/2016. We are sincerely sorry for any disappointment regarding the refund due of $27.94.

Every effort is made to provide the best service and highest quality products possible, unfortunately, sometimes an error occurs. Refunds are generally returned within seven to twenty one days. It was an error on our part the $27.94 was transferred to make payment on order #[redacted] placed by phone 3/5/2016 for $29.93. Consequently when payment of $29.93 was received 3/19/2016 the credit of $27.94 was again left to refund. Please accept our apology for the way in which your refund was handled. Please be assured it is not our practice to handle refunds in this manner.

Your refund check [redacted] has been processed 4/18/2016 and should be received within the next seven to ten days. We are sending a complimentary pack of our Scotcheroos to arrive approximately April 27th, please enjoy with family and friends. We hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you better in the future. Sincerely, Country Door

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: I paid Midnight Velvet and my account balance is now 0. The representatives told me that they do not report to the credit bureaus. They only report negative information. So I disputed the balance with the credit bureau and Midnight Velvet verified that I still owe a balance. This is incorrect information being reported to the credit bureau and is a violation of FCRA.Desired Settlement: I want them to report correct information to the credit bureaus and indicate that the balance is now 0 so I can get on with my life.

Business

Response:

As stated in the response to Ms. [redacted] previous complaint, the companies are not required to immediately update an account status and there are very practical reasons for not doing so. Nonetheless, the companies have complied with Ms. [redacted] request and have updated her accounts to reflect a zero balance.

Review: I receive magzine with pre approval for credit, when I place order with the company states it was denied due to bk on the account. the bk is no longer on my credit and has been removed for 2012. They are saying my file is tagged as bk.Desired Settlement: please remove bk from my file

Business

Response:

Midnight Velvet's records indicate Ms. [redacted] placed an order via internet on February 14, 2016, using cr [redacted] and address [redacted]. This information matches the account on which Ms. [redacted] defaulted in 2005. The promotional offer Ms. [redacted] received was mailed to 120 Lafayette St., Waterloo, IA under a different cr. As a result, the promotional offer was not found and Ms. [redacted]'s order was held. Ms. [redacted] should be able to place an order under her pre-approved offer, provided she uses the adcode and key code from the catalog that contains the offer.

Consumer

Response:

Review: I am in the process of repairing my credit file, on April 18, 2014 I called Midnight Velvet in regards to A/C #[redacted] and explained to them I am paying off old debts to repair my credit file and would like to pay off an old debt with them. In the beginning I was being bounced back and forth between the company and a collection agency. The collection agency repeatedly informed me they no longer had my file, therefore, Midnight Velvet agreed to work with me to settle the account. For A/C #[redacted] I was told by the credit department to only pay $124.59 which was paid immediately by phone 4/18/14, I was informed by the company that the debt will be removed from my credit report in 30 days. To this day, the debt continues to appear on my credit report, showing a balance of $271 with last payment received 9/2009. I have filed disputes with the credit companies, so far Equifax has responded stating that the company, Midnight Velvet confirmed the debt on my credit report is correct. It is not correct, what else am I to do to clear this up.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to remove themselves from my credit report as promised, if need be I can provide proof of payment via my bank statement.

Business

Response:

Midnight Velvet believes Ms. [redacted] has confused this account with another that she has settled.

First, Midnight Velvet has no record of speaking with Ms. [redacted] in April of 2014.

Second, the collection agency handling the account has no record of speaking with Ms. [redacted] at any time.

Third, the payment amount in Ms. [redacted]’ complaint does not meet Midnight Velvet’s minimum settlement requirements.

Finally, Midnight Velvet has no record of receiving a payment from Ms. [redacted] since September of 2009.

If Ms. [redacted] has documentation of a payment made and received in April of 2014, Midnight Velvet will make any necessary adjustments to the account. In the interim, however, the information furnished to the consumer reporting agencies will not be altered.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The response from the person representing Midnight Velvet angered me and caused me to send this response. How dare he or she call me a liar. If possible please send this person my response showing that I did call Midnight Velvet on 4/18/14 as I mentioned in my initial complaint. I have since contacted Midnight Velvet myself on 8/27/14 and found out that when I did call in April 2014 to settle account #[redacted], it was not me but the representative from Midnight Velvet who made an error, I specifically provided account #[redacted] during the call and was informed that I only needed to pay $124.59 which I did. During my phone call 8/27/14 it was discovered that I had 2 accounts with the company and the money was actually paid into a 2nd account #[redacted], see below where payment was made on 4/18/14. I informed the representative that I had no idea I had this account or simply forgotten about it. So the mix up was on Midnight Velvet's end not mine, I did not even have this account number until it was given to me on 8/27/14.

We received the

correspondence from the Revdex.com in regards to your receipt of a

Midnight Velvet catalog. We are sincerely sorry for any confusion and apologize

if you were upset a phone number was requested. When a customer wishes to

address how we acquired their name, we must make a request to another

department; and call, or write the consumer with the information.

Our Marketing

Department informed us that we had acquired your name from Abacus, a Division of

Epsilon Targeting. We hope this will be of help to you. We are also in the

process of removing your name from our customer listing, per your request and

coded any information to not be sold. Please allow six to eight weeks for the

process of catalogs to stop, as some may already be at a distribution center to

be delivered at a later date. If any catalogs are received in the interim you

may discard. We apologize for any inconvenience. Sincerely, Midnight

Review: I was extended credit by Seventh Avenue and Montgomery Ward (a sister company)of $250.00 each after filing and being discharged from bankruptcy. In trying to reestablished my credit I accepted the credit offers from both. I made purchases and have paid my bill on time, this normally results in credit repair and credit limits being raised. I have available credit with both companies which I am no being told that because of a account with another sister company that was discharged in bankruptcy I need a down payment to use my available credit. I placed an order for a wreath, I called seventh avenue and was told yes I had the credit but because of the bankruptcy I would need to call my order in by phone. I did so, after placing the order I checked their site and it said the order was no longer available. I then check their site without login in under my name and the item was available. I have never experienced anything like this. How can the offer credit and resend it? I couldn't even log into Seventh Avenue site to pay my bill. I would like to know if this is legal?Desired Settlement: Explanation..............

Business

Response:

We received the correspondence from the Revdex.com in regards to your order #[redacted] placed 10/9/2015 via internet. We are sorry the Pumpkin Wreath [redacted] was no longer available for purchase. We make every effort to provide the best service and highest quality possible, however, sometimes circumstances are beyond our control. It is difficult to determine how popular an item will be when creating our catalog and unfortunately the wreaths popularity and supplier inventory were unable to meet demand. A notice was sent in this regard on 10/20/2015. We also noted an additional [redacted] which is available and is very similar , yet listed with a different identifying code and price. It is a darker, more Rust colored Pumpkin with Red & Green Leaves. Records indicate an order was started and deleted prior to completion 10/20/2015.

Review: I contact this company in 2013 about account number [redacted] and offered a settlement for this account. The company never responded and I recently learned that the letter they sent had been returned to sender, but they never called me. My phone number was provided in the settlement letter so they had a method to contact me. I recently have called and requested a settlement which they finally verbally agreed to the amount of 363.04 but no letter as promised was faxed regarding this agreement. I sent the certified check payment overnight certified mail with the USPS and the tracking number is [redacted] US. I wan this account removed from my credit bureaus as promised as well as a letter faxed to me at [redacted] regarding the settlement and closure of this account as promised.Desired Settlement: Please fax a letter stating you accepted and relieved the settlement amount if 363.04 to [redacted], also include in the letter this account has been fully satisfied as agreed.

Business

Response:

Midnight Velvet's settlement letter was mailed to Ms. [redacted] on June 6, 2014 and a copy was faxed to her attention on June 9, 2014. The letter included the terms of the settlement agreed to by Midnight Velvet, including the amount to be paid and the status of the account after the settlement was received. If Ms. [redacted] has questions about the letter she should contact Midnight Velvet's credit department.

Response:

Review: Hello Ginny's. I paid this account back in the end of January or beginning of February. You sent me an offer to settle the debt at 60% off the last debt.

Account number- [redacted] Balance $133.34

I sent a pay for total deletion along with this letter that you sent me. I sent you a money order in the sum of $80 to this address.

Allied Data Corporation [redacted] I've disputed this several times with the CRA's to validate and you through a CRC. However I keep getting letters back over and over and over stating the same thing. This information has basically already been validated. I am so confused. Did this agency take my money that was supposed to go to you or did was it supposed to go to Ginny's? Is this a fraudulent company that sent me this letter on behalf of you? and I'm out of $80 knowing that it was a money order?

The CRA's are reporting this as a charge-off account and I thought your deal was good enough to get this fixed with my pay for deletion letter. My other efforts to validate were coming back as erroneous because "I paid the bill". I think. I have no idea what happened here with this account. Can you validate my payment to you? I sent you a money order, but the only proof I have is the old letter that came to me. I am attaching a photocopy of it for you to look at. I apologize for it's condition, but this debt to me is a very minor one and I thought this would have been fully taken care of and deleted from all my credit reports.

Please help and do some research to track down my payment to you.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is to track down my money I sent you firstly. Secondly delete your trade lines because I agreed, I paid and I sent you a letter of pay for deletion along with this. If I had the original carbon paper for the money order I would gladly send it, but this is an old debt and impossible for me to find. I've looked all over. I am not sending you another $80 dollars to fix this because my trust issues are gone. You should have cleared this up a long time ago. If this tradeline is not deleted and the payment is not found I will have to take further steps. I would also like an apology from Ginny's. This is nothing but a headache. I think I deserve that and something you can do to fix this.

(Update- I'm trying to attach this letter for 60% percent off, but it won't allow me to send the file)

Business

Response:

Ginny's did not receive the payment Mr. [redacted] claims to have made. In response to Ginny's inquiry, Allied Data has indicated they have no record of receiving a payment from Mr. [redacted]. If Mr. [redacted] has documentation indicating the payment was received and deposited by Allied he should forward that documentation to Allied. Ginny's cannot change the status Mr. [redacted]'s account until it has received payment of the balance or settlement amount.

Lastly, it should be noted that payment or settlement of the account will not result in deletion of the account information from Mr. [redacted]'s credit file. Neither Ginny's nor the agencies that collect on its behalf request or accept deletion of account information in exchange for payment of a delinquent account. Upon receipt of payment, Ginny's will change the status of the account to "Paid in full" or "Settled for less than full amount" and the balance will be reduced to zero, but the charge off of the account will remain a part of Mr. [redacted]'s credit file.

Review: I order some stuff from swiss conoly and seventhavenue they are asking me for a down payment why they are asking me for a down payment which they said on the phone I can use my choose and charge accountDesired Settlement: I want my order shipped to me before I make any kind of payment to them and when will my items be shipped on and how

Business

Response:

Mr. [redacted] does not have a credit account with Seventh Avenue. Mr. [redacted] was mailed a Seventh Avenue catalog that included an invitation to apply for a credit account. Upon receipt of his order and request for an extension of credit, Seventh Avenue evaluated Mr. [redacted]'s creditworthiness and determined that it could not grant his request for credit in its entirety. Instead, Seventh Avenue offered to open a credit account for Mr. [redacted] if he paid a portion of his order in advance. Upon receipt of the requested payment Seventh Avenue would ship the merchandise Mr. [redacted] ordered and open an account in his name, posting the unpaid balance of the order to his new credit account. Mr. [redacted] would then have the opportunity to earn increases in his credit limit by making regular, timely payments on his account.

Consumer

Response:

I asked them for my account number they are full of bull I told them I didn't know the catalog number what they did is send me the catalog and place the order for me then turn around and charge asking me for a down payment and stating over the phone I should be getting my stuff on the 17th of this month and the 15th which are lies they invent mores to cover for the lies they invented I want my stuff

Business

Response:

Mr. [redacted]'s rebuttal does not appear to address the points raised in Seventh Avenue's previous response. To reiterate: Mr. [redacted] does not have a credit account with Seventh Avenue, nor was he pre-screened for a credit offer. Mr. [redacted]'s request for credit was not granted due to a lack of information from the consumer reporting agencies regarding his creditworthiness.

I called Midnight Velvet on 3/14/14 inquiring about my refund, and was told that the card I used for the purchase would be refunded for $36.95 and that the turn around time would be 3-5 business days. Needless to say after that window of time passed I called, spoke w/at least two different representatives and two different supervisors in their credit department, all of whom confirmed that my refund had been processed on their end and I should contact my bank, in an effort to provide my bank with as much information as I could, I contacted Midnight Velvet one more time, asking if I could get something in writing to send to my bank. I was told that they do not provide anything in writing, which I find to be unusual and a bad business practice. I don't feel that no one truly made an effort to assist me, which is not good customer service.Desired Settlement: Be willing to bend a little in an effort to help your customer so that they will be willing to shop with their company again.

Review: I am alleging that Ginnys.com fraudulently obtained my personal information and sent me a catalog to lure me into purchasing products from them on credit. The front of the catalog stated Enjoy Low Monthly Payments with CHOOSE & CHARGE. CONGRATULATIONS [MY NAME]. BUY NOW & PAY LATER. They provided me with an EZ#, which was supposed to enable me to make a purchase and make monthly payments. I decided to place an order. Once I placed an order, I found out that this enabled them to make a hard inquiry on my credit report, which I did not authorize. They did not process my order and told me that I would have to make a 100% down payment on the item. I spoke with the credit specialist who failed to clearly explain how their credit process worked. I told her that I DID NOT want a hard inquiry on my credit file and at no point did I provide them with my social security number. I asked her how they got my social security number to run my credit and the credit specialist told me that they did not have to have my social security number to run my credit. She refused to tell me how they obtained my personal information. I asked her to remove the hard inquiry from my credit file and she refused. I did not authorize them to run my credit!Desired Settlement: I would like this company to remove the hard inquiry from my credit report as soon as possible.

Business

Response:

Ms. [redacted] should be

aware that a consumer’s name and address do not constitute personal

information. Retailers and creditors, like Ginny’s, may obtain a consumer’s

name and address from a wide variety of sources.

Secondarily, Ginny’s

did not pre-screen Ms. [redacted] for the purposes of extending an offer of credit.

Ms. [redacted] was sent an invitation to apply for a credit account. The material in

the catalog clearly states “All credit orders subject to final credit approval.”

Finally, with regard

to the inquiry on Ms. [redacted]’s credit report, such an inquiry occurs as the

result of a consumer initiated credit transaction. Ms. [redacted] placed an order

through Ginny’s web site on January 27, 2015. To complete the order Ms. [redacted] would

have been required to navigate the two screens pictured below. The first page allows the consumer to choose a

method of payment, included opening a new Ginny’s Choose ‘n Charge account.

Please note that the option to pay by credit card also appears on this page.

The second screen

appears after the consumer has elected to open a Choose ‘n Charge account. In

order to complete the application process, the consumer must accept the terms

and provisions of the account, including providing consent for Ginny’s to

obtain a copy of the consumer’s credit report.

Since the transaction

was clearly consumer initiated, and consent was given to obtain a consumer

credit report, there is no basis for deleting the inquiry from Ms. [redacted]’s

consumer credit report.

Review: To start with, I fell and fractured an ankle Feb 3 2014. With this in mind, I was trying to maintain a normal life with paying bills in a timely manner, but I inadvertently forgot to pay the original amount of $25.90 and they (Swiss colony) sent out another bill for $1.00 interest payment. Unbeknown to me that they have a disclaimer at the top of the form in VERY small font size stating a late fee of $15.00 will be charged for delinquent accounts. I didn't see the disclaimer and sent in my $25.90 with the $1.00 interest fee totaling $26.90. Then I receive a letter from them wanting $15.00 immediately. I called them on this fee and they told me about the late fee amount and that I should pay $11.00. Hesitantly and angrily I paid the $11.00 to get them off my back and not to report me to the credit bureau. But after sending off the check, I also attached a letter stating that their business is unfair and I want a refund for the $11.00.

Before all of this happened I reminded them that my dealings with them in late November regarding this order was very annoying. They couldn't find the order and when they did, they came up with the previous year's order. I kept telling them that that was not my current order. The confusion was resolved and to make amends they sent me both orders. So, this company is not very good in their business orders and they put late fee warnings in very small font size that you can bearly see it. Is this a fair business?Desired Settlement: I wish to receive a refund in the amount of $11.00 and an apology from Swiss Colony and to remove my name from their mailing list. I do not care for their business practice.

Review: I placed an order in February and when I tried to pay the down payment they asked for it would not go through. They sent me a letter letting me know this and at that time I sent them a money order for the down payment. On March 23 at 2:56a.m. I received an e-mail telling me that part of my order was out of stock. I did not read the e-mail at 3 in the morning ,I was asleep. When I woke up at 8 a.m. I read the e-mail and then called them at 8:15. On this call I asked it the order was back logged ,to be delivered at a later time, they said no it was out of stock and that is when I told them to just cancel the order and then they told me it had already been shipped and the would try to stop it but there was no guarantee . I said okay if it gets to me , I will return it tand that is whenthey told me they do not accept returned food purchases, that I would have to take it to a food bank and get a receipt andthen send them rthe receipt in order to get my money back.Desired Settlement: I want the order canceled and my down payment returned without having to go to a food bank.

Business

Response:

We received the correspondence from the Revdex.com in regards to your order #[redacted] placed 2/16/2016 via internet. We are sorry that some of your items were no longer available for shipment.

Our records indicate upon the receipt and processing of the down payment the Lemon Bundt Cake and Batter Bowl were no longer available for shipment. Unfortunately, we are unable to reserve inventory pending receipt of a down payment. Per your request on 3/23/2016, efforts to cancel the shipment were put into place and successfully completed. The order has been credited in full and the down payment of $18.89 will be refunded within the next seven to twenty one days.

We regret you felt it was an inappropriate request to donate unwanted products received to a notable charity. This has been a company policy for an extended period of time. Regulation and food safety guidelines are of the utmost importance to us. By donating products to a charitable organization and sending us notice via letterhead stationery from the organization, this assists you, by receiving credit, and supports recipients that are in need. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Someone placed and order under my name without my consent. I contacted this company to let them know it wasn't me. They told me they was going to take care of it and they was going to send me fraud papers and I haven't recieved the papers yet. Everytime I call I have to keep giving them the same info which they are not noting this account as fraud. So as of today I feel like they are not doing anything to handle this matter. They let people order under other people name without varifing that this is the correct person ordering before they ship items outDesired Settlement: I would l Iike for them to take the bill off my name and do a correction to my credit report

Response:

The account opened in Ms. [redacted] name was coded as fraud on December 13, 2015. There is no need for Ms. [redacted] to complete an identity theft affidavit or submit a police report to Ginny's. No information regarding the account has been furnished to a consumer reporting agency.
