I have used Community Tax Relief on 2 occasions during the past 3 years. I have never been a resident of the state of Illinois yet they always worked with me. The first time required a great deal of effort on their part. The staff setting the fee and arranging the payment schedule was understanding yet firm. While we never like to pay a lot I can honestly say what I paid was fair considering all that needed to be done. Every question I had was quickly answered, every call I made was responded to immediately or within an hour, and when the situation had me stressed to a high degree, I could and did personally speak with the attorney assigned to my case without being made to feel as though I was being shown any special favor as a result of my attitude. My case progressed in an orderly fashion and all things occurred at the interval I was told to expect. While I still believe I have to pay too much, that was not the fault of CTR nor the result of their efforts.
My second occasion to use CTR is ongoing and so far is a repeat performance of the first time with the exception that reminder time deadlines put in place by the administrative staff at times seemed to get caught in a loop and did not easily make it out of one track and onto the next causing a matter to continue for several months, however, a simple telephone call from me quickly resolved that issue.
My overall experience with CTR is such that I will use them again should I have need, and I would without hesitation recommend them to others.

I was in a big fix with the IRS of a quarter of a million and did not know where to turn, after calling several companies I found Community Tax. The man I talked to made me feel as they knew what they where doing and gave me a few days to think about it. He told me what was going to happen as far as what they would try to do. Remember we are dealing with the IRS! I was told what it would cost and did not have the funds to pay it all. They arranged payments for me that I could afford but made it tight on my now budget. But I felt it was worth it. The man signed me up and took my deposit. Then came the many phone calls for info and paperwork. I felt as if I was doing all the work, but gave them everything they asked for. Then the waiting game begins. I was told it could take up to a year for the IRS. I don't know what all was done behind the scenes as you don't see that
It took right at a year for my decision from the IRS and they accepted the offer.
All in all I am satisfied with the team and the company. They all did what they said they would and I do believe that they gave their all to my case. I am grateful for their service and the outcome. All people that I dealt with seemed concerned and connected with the case and all were pleasant. They responded when I had questions and returned emails and phone calls. I reached a real person when calling and not one of those machines. If I left a voice mail depending on the time of day I was returned the call that day or the very next day.

I have been a client of Community Taxes for while here, I don't recall how long the years could be 2yr. nevertheless I have tried several suppose to tax resolve places when my wife was living and they never did anything and continued to charge us money. The Lord blessed me to come in contact with a rep, or something one day I don't recall if they called or I did. I had made up mind before I started talking to him that I wasn't interested however, before he finished I was ready to sign because before he called I was having some issues, but when he finished I felt better. As has been stated in previous replies, as well as emailed to you, an investigation was completed in full per the contract that was signed by you, the client, upon signing up with Community Tax. All work contracted for was completed in full, and we are more than happy to provide the results of your investigation again. As a courtesy, you were refunded a portion of the investigation fee. In the interest of resolving the issue at hand, we are prepared to offer an additional $100 back. Again, a full refund will not be granted.Please let us know if you would like to accept the additional $100 refund, and someone from our Compliance department will reach out to you by phone.
Community Tax was contracted to run a Currently Non Collectible IRS Resolution for the client. We completed this resolution in July of 2016. We have confirmed that the client is still in this resolution with IRS, and is currently safe from collective action. Community tax has tried to communicate with the client over the phone multiple times to clear up any confusion or misunderstanding. The client has abruptly ended the call on each occasion, and not allowed us to help or explain. Additionally, we would like to request a copy of the letter the client allegedly received from IRS regarding one of our employees. If this can be presented, we are happy to re-evaluate the case.
Community Tax LLC did a great job for me. I owed the [redacted] way too much so that I could not pay. Community Tax did an audit reconsideration and got my tax bill reduced by half which makes the payments doable. Dan [redacted] kept working diligently on my problems until they were resolved. His continued efforts and keeping me informed kept the fear level way down for me. I would recommend this service to anyone who has tax issues!!

CT helped negotiate our case and did a good job of refiling our taxes. I will highly recommend them especially when a person is limited in funds for legal fees. Though CT does not charge huge fees for their services, that by no means mean they do not do a good job. Thank you CT for your help and counsel during tough times! does not maintain any relationship for payments with “[redacted]” and Community Tax has never seen IRS send a letter to a client commenting on why certain employees may have left the company. In an attempt to rectify any confusion in this case, Community Tax reached out to Taxpayer on 5/1/17 but Taxpayer ended the call before a settlement could be discussed. Community Tax is still willing to do anything within reason to remedy the situation including discuss a partial refund in the interests of settling the case.
We spoke to Mr. [redacted] on April 12, answered all of his questions and provided him with the information he requested on his case. We agreed to refund the investigation fees and that refund was processed that same day. The complaint was addressed satisfactorily and should be closed out.
