I found ConsumerDirect as a referral from Costco. My wife and I met Charles and it was a pleasure during our whole refinance. Every question was answered and communication instant.
I recommend this company and especially recommend Charles.

Secured a great refi rate, processor and loan originator were all responsive in a timely manner and answered any questions we had about the process.

Had an incredible experience working with ConsumerDirect Mortgage and in particular, Charles P. as my loan officer. Only found out about this company as part of the Costco mortgage program and had numerous quotes and offers within the program, but went with this company because of Charles' very personable and straightforward manner. Throughout the process, as a first time home buyer, he was very thorough in explaining the steps through the mortgage process, what to expect, things to prepare for, and would not hesitate to answer any of my questions at any time of the day (I may have called he a few times on a late evening to discuss "urgent' matters) and he would still pick up the phone.

I would not hesitate to refer any future business to Charles and the ConsumerDirect Mortgage team given my experience working with them.

I highly recommend consumer direct mortgage! Great service and great rates. The process went smoothly and I didn't have to drive anywhere to complete my refinance. No need to look anywhere else!

Excessive and unusual requirements.
They repeatedly ask for:
1. Join call will all your other lenders with a 3rd party credit check company.
2. Keep asking for paystubs.
3. Keep asking for credit card statements for balance as low as $10 and asking to pay them off and how you paid, supported by bank statements.
4. Keep asking if you have been furloughed and prove that you aren't.
5. Stalling on the loan process and trying to sell you on a longer-term.
6. Basically, they are in business of collecting information and wasting your time.
These guys are on *** mortgages, shame on *** They should be reported for unfair lending practices.

We are aware of Freddie Mac guidelines and current circumstances. But asking us to pay a low credit-card balance to shore up debt-income ratio is not right. It might be unethical too. We ended up with credit balances and refunds.

We refinanced our Loan recently with Charles P.. Working with him is very easy and responds quickly with detailed information. We recommend Charles for any refi or purchase.

Got the original reference from *** and then that how got introduced to Charles. He is exceptionally helpful throughout the process. Very quick in responding back each time, very patient and gave answers to all my questions and queries - was quick to update the loan amount at the last minute to match with payoff and also answered all queries till the day of closing :).
Worked with Kathy, who was the loan processor and it was always easy to work with her - multiple other people also helped at different times Zach, Jean, Carol and there was never a dull moment :)
Overall very happy and already gave references to bunch of my friends and colleagues.

Refinancing can be one of the most challenging choices. The team ( Misty / Trish / Hesta ) proved to be excellent. From start of application process to crossing the finish line at closing, a commendable performance.

I had a GREAT experience with FirstBank! From the initial contact e-mail to closing, it was a smooth process. I received a great re-fi rate, fair pricing, excellent customer services with timely responses and knowledgeable staff, and very easy to do the closing electronically even with a pandemic. Special thanks to my Sr. Mortgage Banker Charles P. who made the process stress free and easy. I was very pleased with FirstBank and will work with Charles and his team again the next time I take out a home loan or do another re-fi. Two thumps up!

Charles and team were a pleasure to work with during our recent re-fi. They made the process as smooth as it could be from quote to closing, answering any questions we had in a prompt and diligent way. Everything was orchestrated remotely, which made trust and effective digital communication paramount in order for us to close in a timely manner. With those challenges, and in general, the team exceeded expectations - top notch customer service.

Throughout the waiting to close for a refinance, Charles, Jonathan, and Ria were great. They were very responsive and when rates dropped on their site, I asked if it was possible to get the lower rate. Charles has to ask management, but was able to get the lower rate. We used them through the Costco loan program and it was an easy process.

The people at consumers direct did an excellent job with helping us to refinance our home. Overall it was a smooth process and was fairly easy on my end to do. The only potential issue was when it came to the closing day the paperwork from the title company was not sent over to the notary who was going to meet at our home to sign the closing papers. However, the notary called me about 15 minutes before and told me of the issue, then contacted consumers direct and tried to reach the title company. I also called and left a message with the closing agent at consumers direct. I got a call about an hour later from someone with consumers direct about the issue and they contacted the title company to make sure the we could still close. We were able to close later that day and the time in the end work better for us. They were very proactive to resolve the issue in a timely manner and communicated very effectively. They were open and transparent throughout the process.

They keep harassing me (via their "ConsumerDirect Mortgage" division), sending me spam e-mails asking if I need a mortgage. I did, several months ago. But they've not responded to my insistence that the house is bought, and keep sending me these e-mails. (And they proudly display their "A+ Revdex.com Rating" on their web page. I suppose that doesn't mean much, anymore?)

Charles is very helpful and very knowledgeable. He updated me with the status of my loan along the way. He is very thorough with the loan process.

This mortgage company got us all the way through conditional approval and promised a good rate with generous closing costs. They then stopped responding to emails and phone calls, and often had to ask for paperwork repeatedly, though we sent it promptly. After stringing us along for more than a month, they finally responded a day after the closing date, to let us know they were discriminating against us for legal immigration. They insisted on an appraised of their choice, leaving us with a $600 bill and nothing to show for it. The mortgage rates have now gone up and we are completely *** by their lack of responsibility and terrible business practices.

First off, I want to extend my sincerest apologies for your frustration. We always strive to give fivestar service, but there certain investor guidelines that we do not have control over. Upon further research, it appears that you indicated on the application that you are a permanent resident alien. When asked for the permanent resident card, we were provided with an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) card and the application for you're Permanent Resident card. Based on Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and our other investor guidelines, an EAD card is not an acceptable document to validate Permanent Resident status. This is the second time that I have secured a mortgage thru the Consumer Direct Mortgage, a Division of First Bank, specifically thru Dean JC. Dean made the process almost pain free, from the beginning I understood the terms and conditions for the mortgage I asked for and at closing the original terms and conditions were as close as to the original proposal, NO SURPRISES which is a rear thing now days.
Ria G. was excellent, she demonstrated a lot of patience when dealing with me either thru emails or phone, Ria is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, I give Ria a FIVE STAR RATING. Dealing with Mr.F. was not so easy, his process was very cumbersome and many times asked for documents that in first blush did not make sense to me, all of the time that I was dealing with Mr. F. I was only able to speak with Mr.F. ONCE, I could not reach him by phone at any time to ask my questions in person, very aggravating. At the end of the day everything worked out. I will recommend Dean, Consumer Direct Mortgage one hundred percent of the time. WELL DONE!!

Consumer Direct, and Charles P. specifically, are outstanding. Charles has helped me buy two houses, and he's helped me with two refinances. I recommended him to my mom and then he helped her buy a house. So this review is based on five transactions.

After having bad experiences with several other loan originators, I found Charles and it has made the home financing process as smooth as possible - with less stress, fewer time consuming tasks, and much better communication.

But, more important than all of that, I trust Charles. He has always delivered on what he says at the beginning - there is no bait and switch.

His emails are clear and his phone conversations are respectful, professional, and easy to understand. And - unlike every other loan originator I've worked with - Charles is quick to respond to emails and voicemail. I have a very small sample size of voicemails though because he almost always answers his phone.

The rest of the Consumer Direct team was good too. The rates are very competitive. So you get a good process and a good product. I highly recommend contacting Charles for home purchases or refinances.

In general, I have never heard anyone speak glowingly of a lender. They are simply a means to an end... or so I thought. I was discouraged by my realtor, family, and other lenders to enter into a transaction with an "online" lender. After all, we all know that online lenders are big & scary and just out to steal your hard-earned money. I found ConsumerDirect Mortgage and Charles P. via Costco. My wife buys everything there and thought, "why not a mortgage also?" I was skeptical... very skeptical. After trading several emails with Charles, I got the sense that he was a straight shooter, which I appreciated. He was honest, forthright, and not "salesy". He assured me that ConsumerDirect was not a big, scary online lender and was, in fact, a division of FirstBank, which was actually founded in my home state. Charles was there for us from start to finish. His responsiveness to email, text, and phone calls is far greater than I ever expected. If we needed him, he was there. This was, by far, the best customer service experience that I have ever had. Not only was Charles great, but his rates were consistently 0.25% lower than any of his competitors. The icing on the cake came as we were approaching closing. Rates had dropped since we locked in our rate, and while ConsumerDirect was not obligated to give me a float-down option free of charge, they did so anyway. Closing was as smooth as silk. There were no hiccups whatsoever from my lender. Do yourself a favor when seeking your next mortgage. Check out Charles and ConsumerDirect Mortgage. They are honest, efficient, and effective, and you will not regret your decision. I know that if I am ever in the market again, this is the first place I will look.

This is my second experience with Consumer Direct and Charles P. as the mortgage banker. ConsumerDirect is EXCELLENT at communication and Charles in particular is extremely quick to answer questions. Closing was fantastic as it was arranged at the time and location of my choosing, so I chose our home. Only one minor hiccup - a loan processor made an honest mistake that delayed closing a few days, but she owned up to it. Everyone makes mistakes and she made it right. I'd highly recommend ConsumerDirect to anyone, and have already done so for my coworkers.
