FRUSTRATED. attended one of Cool Events "free" 5K night run in San Antonio on 03/16/19 at ***. Did not know run was going to take place over grass, rocks and dirt. I stepped in a hole in the grass and suffered a lisfranc injury on my right foot. It's a break almost above arch of foot. I had to have surgery, could not put any weight on my foot for 2 months. The surgeon had to put a metal plate with 4 screws in my foot which I still have. I contacted Cool Events since we did have to purchase the insurance coverage. They sent me the forms which I completed and returned along with copies of my bills and xray of my foot. I have called and called and emailed and emailed for several months with no response to date. My bills are getting ready to go to collections.
Cool Events run, NEVER AGAIN!

Be prepared for additional mandatory fees after registration that exceed the initial insurance and registration cost. If they advertised all the costs on the front I would be happy to pay $50 all inclusive, but for a "free charity event" to sequentially require 3 additional fees between registration and getting to participate is deception.

Scam artists. They lure you in with "free registration" for a fun 5K event. Of course registration isn't actually free--there's $12 in insurance and fees per registrant. A month before the event, I get an email that the event is canceled due to logistical issues. There's no refund but I could transfer my registration to another event--for another $5 per person. There's also no guarantee that that event isn't cancelled as well. The website for the original event says nothing about the event being canceled. The only indication is that when you click on the button to register it sends you to a broken link. Oddly enough, the same company is offering another event the same day in the same location, just in the evening. I suspect this was their plan all along, get $$ from participants for two events, but actually only host one (or none).

DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY COOL EVENTS LLC.

I only rated one star because it wouldn't let me rate no stars. They don't deserve even 1 star. This company is absolutely HORRIBLE. Registered for an event that was advertised as "free" but they charge fees for. A few weeks they announce that the event is cancelled and don't state a valid reason why. They email stating that they will move you to a different event and they don't offer refunds. I have emailed back and forth and continue to state no refunds. I do a quick search for their company and low and behold... they are well known for obtaining fees for events and then cancelling them and refusing to offer refunds. This is FRAUD. They need to be shut down.

I registered for a race and ordered items with cool event llc to be held in Jacksonville, Fl on July 20th. The race has been canceled. I requested a refund . They refuse to do so. I requested that they send me merchandise equaling the amount paid. The refused . In stead they offer to transfer registration and merchandise to another race. I explained that I am not interested in another race. They still refuse to provide a refund or send merchandise.

I bought tickets to do the black light slide even a year and a half ago and the event still hasn’t happened. They keep canceling it and won’t refund me either. We are now living in Colorado and they still wouldn’t refund us after we moved. I got an email today saying my even was taking place this weekend. Maybe tell us a few months in advance since we paid for this event and would have to make plans. But of course, it will probably be canceled again anyway. I just want my money back from the thieves.

Saw this cool run advertised on social media for this bubble run 5k. Turns out it was fake and the Revdex.com already warned people about this and I did not check beforehand. the company popped up with a window after I checked out that I had to pay an annual fee of $87 a year! NO WHERE did they say before I registered that they would do that. I tried to cancel and get a refund as soon as I clicked confirm so they wont let me. now I have to call my credit card company. DO NOT USE COOL EVENTS LLC! they are frauds!

We had a team of 20+ that joined for this "free" event. It wasn't free as we had to pay close to $12 each for insurance etc and $10.00 per vehicle for parking. My daughter and I arrived early enough at the venue so we had no issue with parking, but those who arrived just before the race started were told that there were no more parking spaces! Website said that they had over 13K participants.
Race (supposedly) started at 7.30PM and we were in the middle of the pack. At 8.15 PM, we were still barely moving to the start line. My daughter and I ditched the event and left. Turned out that we were not the only ones. Other groups got tired of waiting to start as well and just bailed. Worst organized ( or unorganized ) event I have ever attended.

Don't waste your time/money with these people.

I completed the 'free' Terrain Race at Lake Lanier, GA for the Insurance $15, $10 for parking, and $5 on site packet pick up). The race was fun. Some obstacles was a bit unsafe but I used common sense and myself and my friends had blast. Worth the money and has a few things to improve.

This company advertising “Free” events, a race in this case, but then charges $20 to park, and $5 to pick up your race day information!! Absolutely dishonest. Do not run races sponsored by these people.

Riding for the Handicapped of Western Pennsylvania volunteered at the Bubble Run that was held at *** in the month of May 2018. We had 25 volunteers and was told by this company we would receive a check for or non-profit organization for donating our time. We should have received around 700.00. We have reached out to the company numerous times but have not heard anything back form them.

Cool Events Response • Feb 26, 2019

Morning!

I have reached out to our accounting department to check on the status of your donation. I will notify you of the status shortly.

Thanks,

Do not sign up for their events. I signed up for the Bubble Run in New Orleans for the February date. I received an email saying they moved the race to March. We are unable to go to the March date. They won’t refund us. They said to transfer to one of their other races which 2 of the other races we can’t attend bc I’ll be out of town & the other option we are signed up for. They then suggested selling to a family/friend. The friends I have that do race, are in the same situation. While I enjoyed their Terrain Race in 2018, I won’t participate in a Cool Event Race again. This seems like a scam.

I did NOT sign up for anything remotely related to Cool Events. Yet somehow, they got my email and I've been getting spam mail over and over - despite having unsubscribed THREE times. How did they even get my info...

I participated in a "*** fun run organized by this company. I was really excited about the event, and signed up with my son. However, when we got to the event we were very disappointed. The event was unorganized and chaotic. The porta-potties were pitch dark, as there was no lighting provided in or around the area. I understand this was a *** so you don't want bright lights everywhere, but there should have at least been lights in that area. The course was confusing and poorly marked with cones that were usually fallen over rather than upright. The course was littered with plastic bottles, discarded glow sticks, and was also pitch dark. The first foam station was not working properly, so my son and I stood and waited for a moment to see if it was on a timer or something, but nothing ever came out of the foam station. The second and third foam stations were so backed up with people taking selfies that we had to literally wait in line on the course to get through the station. The volunteers were just standing around talking with each other and not even helping anyone move through the area. The only way we could have gotten foam on us was to roll around in the foam that had accumulated on the ground. When you look at the photos in the emails that were sent, on the website, or googled images, the event is advertised as being full of foam. The FAQs even state that you will be soaking wet with foam when you're done. This was not the case at all. The only way I could have been soaking wet is if I had jumped in the vat of liquid foam at one of the foam stations. All of the advertising for this event was misleading and false. My son and I left this event completely dry. It was very disappointing. Everyone in our group was very disappointed, and one person is even stuck with pink streaks in their hair from the little foam that did get on her hair. She's tried washing it out, and it's not going anywhere. She's going to have to get her hair colored over!

Oshkosh community and VRBO property owners... please DO NOT RENT to this company called COOL EVENTS from Phoenix, AZ. They were in town this last weekend for the EAA mud/terrain run that they apparently sponsored or organized. They left our house in complete shambles. It’s been turned upside down. It’s a disgusting mess. I can’t even begin to tell what has taken place. It’s completely disgusting. I realize this is our risk on VRBO. Has the integrity of human beings been lost in this society?

These people invaded every aspect of our home... turned drawers, closets, and every living area upside down. They invaded spaces that we not allowed in the rental agreement. The drank our alcohol, wore our clothes, shoes and coats. And left everything right where they took it off. They left every bathtub full of muddy water and sand. Wet towels were left on the beds. We have 3 changes of linens for each of the 4 bedrooms. They used them all. Check out was to be at 11 a.m. they left at 3:30 p.m. Candy, food and dirty plates were all of the house. It has been a complete violation of our home. In addition, they left behind an iPad that opened to porn.
This company is a scam.

I purchased tickets, T-shirt and other items for the Blacklights event in August 2017 in San Antonio. A week later the event was canceled and we informed that we would be informed of a new date soon.

By the time it was December 2017, I personally contacted the company a third time requesting a refund. I was told they would honor that but they didn’t.

This evening, September 24, 2018, I received an email that I registered for this upcoming event for Black Light Wars. What’s worse is the date still has December 2017 and they keep emailing me information but there’s nothing scheduled for 2018.

I’ve tried to let this go but this email from them has lead to this review. I honestly believe the company steals money from consumers this way and it’s shameful they haven’t been shut down for it.

Blacklight Slide event was advertised as sporting event on *** with different running events in their area. We paid 20.00 each for 3 of us, including 6 years old boy to participate in family event. On top of that organizers of this event charged 5.01 venue fee and 19.32 processing fee. On top of almost 90.00 for participation we had to pay 10.00 for parking. First of all it wasn't in any shape or form a sporting event and it wasn't family event either. Our expectations were 5k run/walk with black lights and than slide at the end, instead it was purely organized slide only with the whole bunch of yelling young drunks around. Nowhere on the web site during the registration was it mentioned that you cannot go on the slide if you do not have a tube. Tube purchase was actually optional. So what did we pay for 90.00? When we realized that there is no 5K run, we were forced to buy 1 tube (that was optional during registration and I wasn't going to spend more money than I already did), stay in very long line and let our son that is under age slide by himself just 1 time. How come it's not safe to slide without tube (again if it was optional during registration, what did we pay for), not safe to slide with your underage child, but organizers allow kids to go on top of the slide without adult supervision (parents were not allowed to guide them if they didn't have tube). On top of all that, the weather was cold 65F with light rain. I understand that they cannot control the weather, but they did not postpone this event to more suitable weather either.

Cool Events Response • Aug 20, 2018

To whom it may concern,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. All of the event fees are shared with the customer upfront and are standard fees throughout the industry. We apologize if there was any confusion on those or what the event was to be. Considering weather, we are a rain or shine event as our weather policy is posted to the website for your review. At this time, we have made an exception an issued a refund for your purchase.

Take care

I purchased an event with not so Cool events: terrain racing, in inland empire, and they canceled it. Seems like a big scam. warn your friends and family not to book.

I purchased an event to do a terrain race on july 7th and I received an email saying the event was canceled and rescheduled for the september 1st., which I am unable to make. i've been talking to them through email and they say it not refundable. I don't understand how they can set up and event dated, cancel it, and not offer a refund.

Cool Events Response • Jul 09, 2018

Hi ***,

Thanks for reaching out. We do apologize for the date change however it was out of our control. All events that we host are non-refundable which is agreed upon at the time of registration. That being said, we have made an exception and issued a refund for your registration. You will see the credit to your account in the next 5-7 business days.

Take care,

Ryan

Myself and countless others were turned away from parking and eventually attending the Blacklight Slide event held in Lakeland, Florida on June 30, 2018. I know that people were getting stuck in the grass since it was extremely wet and muddy, but it was explained to me that the event was "cancelled" and they were not letting any other guests in. Blacklight Slide is refusing any refund for any reason whatsoever and only to be able to use my ticket at a later time. I kindly explained to the representative that after reading more into the extremely poor reviews that I would not like to attend another event, but was still refused. I understand that certain reasons do not warrant a refund, but this was entirely the fault of the company. I am shocked that this organization is still continuing these practices and it is incredibly unfair and immoral to treat paying customers this way. All I asked for was a refund for services I was not provided. I hope that someone is able to help myself and the others that were denied entry as well.
