Cool Events Reviews (%countItem)

My coworkers and I registered to compete in a Bubble Run that was set to take place November 4th 2017 in Memphis,TN. We all had paid and were ready to go. One month prior to the event starting, no notifications were sent out, word of mouth just traveled that the event was being postponed. We figured no big deal, that is until we found out it was being postponed until may of 2018! Therefore we all started getting on the website and seeing all of the rage and deceitfulness that apparently has been taking place for a while. We have emailed and to no avail can never get anyone to respond. I will be filing with my bank to dispute these charges seeing as this company is a complete scam.

Our event in Memphis has not been cancelled, it has been rescheduled. While we are typically a no refunds event which is agreed upon at the time of registration, we will make an exception at this time and issue a full refund for the registrations. The credit will appear in their account shortly.
Thanks,
Ryan

Complaint Id number ***. I was contacted by this unfulfilled business that I would hear from this week about an event that was postponed and I never heard them. If you are going to postpone an event and not contact customers, who paid for your service, the least you can do is give them their money back per your irritating policies. I wanty 40.00 back now!!!! I don't want to attend your event anymore, I want my money back. I paid for my tickets on November 23, 2016 and now it's October 13, 2017, it is about to be a year in November.

In December 2016 I registered myself & 2 kids for a July 2017 "Glow Wars" which is now called "Black light wars" or Cool Events LLC
That event was rescheduled a week or two in advance for October 14 2017. This new date has now been "postponed" .

There is a no refund policy, but the event was not held. There are 3 locations listed on the website and all say "TBD" Registering for an event and being expected to wait over a year for it to (possibly) take place is unreasonable. I contacted them via email 3 times stating I want to be refunded because they did not hold the event. They refused. I called 3 times, and even let them know I would go to Revdex.com if I do not get my $90 refunded, and they said, that was my choice, No Refunds.

After doing some googling, I see that a large number of other US locations are experiencing the same issues ,and those that did hold an event have major complaints about over crowding, not enough logistical support, and excessive long lines. This only verifies that this company is not fulfilling what were selling. This event did not happen, and therefore they gave me nothing and took my $.

Purchased 2 tickets, plus accessories for the Blacklight wars water fight event that was supposed to take place in ***, TX on Sep 30, 2107. The then postponed it on Sept 11th due to "logistical" reason and at that time failed to give a new date, prior to that they changed venues without informing those who had already bough tickets when it was at the other venue. Today, (10/12/2017) I have found out that the new date, which they did not announce is supposed to Jan 1, 2018, now that is an unreasonable date to have a WATER FIGHT. However, the venue where the water fight is supposed to be at ***, does not have the event listed on their calendar of events. Seeing from prior complaint this is not the first time that the company has done this. As this event was not cancelled due to a force major, but do to poor planning on part of the company. The promoter fails to make good on any of those guarantees, that there would be an event so they must must refund the purchase price and the GOODs that were purchased and not recieved, plus the surcharge the one oversized t-shirt must also be repaid.

I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. However, I do not think the rescheduling a water event in January is realistic, nor that they even have after contacting the venue and believe that everyone who has registered for this event deserves to be refunded also.

Between September 25 and 27th, our family purchased 6 tickets to the Knoxville Bubble Run to be held on Saturday, October 21st for a birthday celebration. The Order ID numbers are *** - total $161.92.
The contract states "Adverse weather: As stated in the waiver there are no refunds due to adverse weather. In the event that weather or other unforeseeable conditions are deemed by the event organizers and/or City Officials to be potentially hazardous to participants, bubbleteers and staff, the organizers reserve the right to postpone the start time or cancel the event outright. Cancellation of the event may take place either prior to the start of the event or at any time while the event is taking place. "
On October 4th, we received an e-mail stating the event was being postponed (no reason was given) to a date to be announced and our registration would be transferred to that event. I immediately sent an e-mail that I wanted a refund since the tickets were purchased for a birthday celebration in October. After no response, I sent a second e-mail requesting a refund. The new date was over 6 months away. This time I received a response stating I had two choices. I could transfer my 6 tickets to someone else for same event in APRIL 2018 or attend another event that they listed. The only other event in Tennessee was almost 3 hours away. Most events were in other states.
The cancellation was not due to weather or hazardous conditions. Cool Events LLC just made a decision to postpone the event for 6 months. We should have been given the choice to attend the event in April 2018 or receive a FULL refund. Three children were attending this event and are extremely disappointed the event was cancelled and we are unable to make alternate plans without a refund.
Cool Events LLC should not be allowed to arbitrarily cancel events and force customers to attend events that they did not purchase tickets for.

I registered me and my daughter to do a Bubble Run in Little Rock,AR on September 29,2017. This was a $20 fee plus shipping of packets, plus processing fees. So around $34 a piece to sign up for this run. Which considering the original price was $50 plus shipping and processing, I felt like I was still getting a bargain. They advertised this on *** like last day to sign up! After I signed up, they extended the sign up day, but whatever I still wanted to do the run. A few days later, they sent out a text that it had to be cancelled but no refunds were to be given. You could sign up for another location or give your registration to someone else. Very aggravated because I had signed up with two other ladies and the four of us had already booked a room.So we decided to do the Memphis Bubble Run Nov.4,2017. Once again they have cancelled this run. I just want my money back. I'm out $70. I can not reschedule this run again. You cant call to talk to anyone, only text them a new date and location to run. I think this is a scam.

Cool Events Response

We apologize for the inconvenience of the postponed events. At this time we are willing to make an exception and refund your registrations. Please send us the information of the others that purchased with you as we can only see yours. Once received, we will refund the other three as well.

I purchased a ticket for an event called Blacklight Wars in Washington DC. The event was to be held 19 Aug 2017, around 8 or 9 Aug, I was contacted from the company that the event was being postponed and we (I created a team) would be notified of the new date and there was nothing for us to do because this would happen automatically. That was the last time I heard from the company. Now that the summer is over I contacted the company for a refund because they did not provide the service that we paid for. I was informed that I would not receive my money back but I could transfer my ticket and join the event in another city! That is ridiculous. I inquired again, and informed them that I understand If I did not show up for an event that my money was non-refundable but THEY cancelled the event and as such, they need to give my money back. They refused. I e-mailed them again to request my money back and have not heard back from them.

I’ve participated in plenty of 5k’s with my friends. Usually it’s some sort of charity or cause or community event. We were very excited about the Foam Glow Atlanta 5K. I don’t know that any of us realized that “fun” translated into skeleton crew of volunteers and staff, zero security or assistance on the course, zero snacks-drinks-stations on the course zero lighting and NO FINISH LINE!

The race was meant to start at 730 with late registration starting at 530. No vendors showed. No free stuff. No snacks or stretch time with the DJ or pre-walk prep walk. At 715 we started lining up on our own. At 730 the registration line was wrapped around the parking lot. We were lined up to race… waited… and waited... and waited… until everyone started chanting START THE RACE at 745. The races started at 755. Needless to say we were all a little grumpy and ready to move!

Then we took a long walk in the dark, through 4 "WHITE" foam stations (no color), through a lakeside camp ground in the woods with unlighted cones with holes and uneven cement. Neither the walkers nor the runners could make out what was in front of them unless someone had an iPhone. Several people wiped-out. One lady even fell on her face and broke her nose. It took EMTs 20 minutes to get to her because someone had to call 911…because, again, there was no staff on the course and we are in the woods!

Then, we get to the end… and there is NO FINISH LINE! No one says congrats… here’s some water and, I don’t know, a towel, a pat on the sweaty back? Something!? Nope. You just wandered back into the parking lot where the DJ is now full blast spraying people with white foam and yellow neon liquid that only glows under the black-light. Oh.. we had a vendor in the back corner selling hot dogs and beer for $5 a pop.

There are no words for how much the organization of this event sucked. We wont be attending again. I wish there was some way to get our money back :(

I purchased one ticket to a 5K in Memphis TN scheduled on November 4th. I also purchased the insurance so that I could cancel at any time and receive a refund. The company sent an email on October 4th, notifying me that the 5K on that date has been postponed, and they have not set a new date. I have searched their website for a place to request a refund and have not found one. I have also sent repeated emails and facebook inquiries in regards to a refund without a response.

I would like a refund for this 5K. I understand that the event is "non-refundable" if you did not purchase the insurance or if a person decides not to show up on race day, but if Cool Events cancels their own event, they MUST give refunds to all participants. Furthermore, as I stated before, I purchased the insurance to cover myself so that I could receive a refund for any reason.

After further review, I feel that this company does not intend to reschedule the race or give refunds to persons who purchased the insurance or any racer at all. If they do not intend to host these events, they most certainly should not be taking people's money.

To whom it may concern,

Our Memphis Bubble Run has been postponed and a new date will be announced soon. If the participant purchased the insurance option, they will need to contact [email protected] for assistance. Please note, in the waiver that is posted on our website and in the registration path which all participants must agree to, it does state that we are a no refunds event and dates and locations are subject to change. Please let us know if Booking Protect is able to assist you.

this company sells event tickets to customers with the knowledge of "NO REFUNDS"....and while I and many others have purchased knowing this.....we DIDN'T know that they would postpone the event over and over! I am guessing they will postpone it until most people give up. Luckily I didn't purchase extra "glow" products...many of my friends did, I only invested $45 and have friends that have invested over $100

I bought the ticks for San Bernardino Blacklight Slide originally scheduled for September 30, 2017. They changed the date and not having a new date for us till now which is the 29th. I and my friend even booked hotel rooms for it. And under the situation of no new date at all, they don't even refund anything. Also when I contacted cool events which was the site I paid, they had me to contact Blacklight Slide's email and both of them just did not want to be responsible for this event. Here are some of the reservation ids*** and we have a few more people that I don't know their ID

I registered for the Black Light Slide in San Jose via Cool Events for the event on September 16, 2017. On August 24, 2017, I received an email from Cool Events stating that the event was being postponed and they would let me know a new date. Last week I checked their website and saw that the event is postponed until 2018. According to their refund policy, they do not offer refunds for weather conditions. I emailed them requesting a refund since the event was cancelled on their end, not mine. They replied offering to transfer my registration to a different event. Out of all the events offered, there is only one scheduled in my state, however, it is a considerable distance from where I live. I was denied a request for a refund. They are repeatedly denying any request I make for a refund. It is unreasonable to expect me to be in limbo to attend an event in 2018, and to ask me to attend another event not offered in my state or offered extremely far from where I live. In theory, they could keep postponing the event while keeping my money, that is unacceptable.

I purchased tickets from Cool events LLC. for a Blacklight Wars event in Washington D.C. for myself and my three children. I have also invited my sister and her son to attend and she bought tickets as well. Approximately a week before the event scheduled for 8/19/2017 I received an email stating the event was cancelled due to logistical reasons and when a new date was established I would receive additional information via email. It have been over a month and I have received no communication. My sister has called and spoke with a customer service rep who stated that no new event was planned and they do not issue refunds so she could choose another location and transfer her tickets. There are no other locations close enough or have a date that does not conflict with prior engagements. I have emailed them requesting a refund but have not received a response. I understand a refund policy that states they do not issue refunds due to a customers change in schedule or plans but not issuing refunds for a service you did not provide is absurd.

Cool Events Response

The company is not bad at all. I think people just don't read refund policies and. Many people that pay for upcoming events might forget about it, or flake out. This is a company that will work with people that call them, and if an event is cancelled they find a way to satisfy those that call them.

Cool Events LLC advertised a "blacklight slide" event that was scheduled to take place on September 30th, 2017 in San Bernardino, CA. Tickets were purchased several months in advance (May 3rd) for this event! And just yesterday (September 22, 2017) I received an email stating the event was postponed due to circumstances out of their control. I emailed the company back stating this was a scam and requesting a refund. They refuse; stating "logistics issues". The same day they sent out the "postponed" email I had already emailed them requesting proof of this not being a bogus event/scam (I reached out because my friends read on Facebook and showed me that this company "postpones" events last minute or cancels events and the event is never rescheduled nor is money provided back for refund.) so I reached out to the company concerned this was going to happen; I reached out a few times and they danced around my concerns. Until finally yesterday two hours after I sent my request for proof/confirmation of this not being a bogus event, Cool Events LLC sends out an email "postponing" the event. However I feel it is not postponed it was never going to happen from the beginning because according to reviews this company does this as a pattern; they advertise an event and don't follow thru with it. They advertised the event months ago and any "logistics" issues should have been discovered and worked out before they planned, advertised the event, sold tickets etc. Giving a one week notice of a postponed event; that was never going to happen in the first place. They trick their customers! I had already purchased a hotel as well as I was going to be traveling from out of the area. So not only is there no event, no rescheduled event day, a fraud/bogus I am also out of the money spent on my hotel.
Please note: The 3rd party company *** is Cool Events LLC use to process and collect ticket sales. So my receipt came from *** company with Cool Events LLC listed as the event coordinators and hosts.

Cool Events Response

To whom it may concern,

Our San Bernardino Blacklight Slide was postponed due to circumstances beyond our control. We will be announcing the new date by Friday of this week. Customer Response

The “updated” email received today from Cool Events, LLC contained ZERO UPDATED information, details nor any options on a new event date, location etc. as Ryan stated it would in his response to my complaint. The email the organization/company sent today stated the EXACT SAME INFORMATION -the original event was postponed due to circumstances beyond their control(see attached).. I paid money for a service that is not being provided. Their rebuttal response to Revdex.com stated today I would receive updated information on the “newly rescheduled event”. That is false. They are not upholding their end of the business transaction and continue to provide faulty business practices and diminish any credibility of them being a reputable forthright company. Not one bit of information has been provided that reassured me they are not a fraud! All it stated was what we already know...that the original event is not happening nor any resolution of new details (that would probably follow this same pattern of “postponement”)I paid money, as did my group, we made proper arrangements to attend an event we have yet to receive updated info. False advertising, postponed events and no communication of rescheduling or accommodating THEIR “circumstances beyond their control” is not our problem nor is it a resolution to the bottom line that we are paying customers that have not received the service (event)we paid for. The email Ryan referenced in his rebuttal stated the exact same “postponed” info. I REPEAT NO NEW INFO WAS PROVIDED. See attached. I would like a refund because they are not upholding their end of the business transaction nor resolving the matter in a professional way.

I purchased two registrations for the Blacklight Run 5K that took place in Pensacola, FL on 16 Sep 2017. This was advertised on their website as a 5K (http://www.active.com/pensacola-fl/running/distance-running-races/blacklight-ru...
This event was poorly organized, the course was terrible, and was short of 5K in length (estimated 3.5K in length per GPS measurement of the course).
Everyone that attended was cheated out of the promised 5K course length. I requested a refund and was denied.
