Costco Reviews (1219)

We are sincerely sorry about the lack of member service on this particular transaction. We take great pride in serving our members and ensuring we are accurate with our members on their transactions. In this case, we failed to be 100% accurate on this transaction order. We are thankful to our...

member's awareness, to help make this a learning lesson to the employee involved and our team overall. We have since sat down with the cashier involved and went over this matter. We have no problem refunding the overcharged amount of $8.99, in addition to a $50 Costco Cash card for the reimbursement of their time. We are looking forward to serving our member again and displaying a positive outcome moving forward. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Costco is continuing to attempt to accommodate Mr. [redacted] request however at this time we cannot meet his ask. We have compensated him for the time and troubles with this experience and stand by our return policy so that he is able to get a full refund and keep the compensation we've issued.

Revdex.com:
I saw a request from CostCo for a copy of my receipt.  A copy is attached to this e-mail.  After talking with [redacted] I learned CostCo and...

[redacted] are "retail" pharmacies and retail pharmacies like to be called "standard" pharmacies.  These retail pharmacies negotiate the price CostCo can charge the insurance company's clients.  The negotiated price for those two medications plus the $5.21 per prescription came to $31.91 which is better than the $45 per medication it would have cost me had the insurance company and CostCo not negotiated.  HOWEVER, this information needs to be made known clearly to the public and especially senior citizens.  In my situation I can get my tier one prescriptions from [redacted] or from [redacted] free because I have a policy with [redacted].  I have gone to CostCo Pharmacy for years but that will be no more.  Thank you.  Sincerely,

All Costco products are 100% guaranteed to our members, so we will gladly reimburse these three gasoline transactions totaling $90.44. However, from the complaint it is unclear whether this refund has already occured ("...which I was paid by Costco Cash Card.")  Refunds are available at any...

Costco warehouse, or the member can file an Incident Report which is processed via our Corporate Office.  To expedite this claim, the member can call our office directly at (425) 416 8857 for assistance.Costco gasoline is certified Top Tier, and our station maintenance is second to none.  The government sets gasoline standards, so there is very little variability between the energy content of a typical gallon of gasoline. Costco has no idea why our member's fuel economy was lower during this particular cross-country trip, but we notice that there is an extreme elevation gain traveling across the Rocky Mountains. We do not think the reduced mileage is due to any deficiency in our fuel.RegardsTim H[redacted]Director of Fuel Quality and ComplianceCostco Wholesale

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Costco fails to recognize Washington State Law RCW 62A.2-403 (1) (b) which protects Mr. [redacted] as a bona fide purchaser.
Bona fide purchaser defined:
Commonly called BFP … one who has purchased an asset …for stated value, innocent of any fact which would cast doubt on the right of the seller to have sold it in good faith. This is vital if the true owner shows up to claim title, since the BFP will be able to keep the asset, and the real owner will have to look to the fraudulent seller for recompense. - thefreedictionary.com
Costco took a risk when it chose to deliver a tablet to a fraudulent member trusting their check to be good before it could be verified. Costco then received the tablet back from the fraudulent member and then delivered a gift card to the fraudulent member for the tablet's value, still while the check was unverified. The fraudulent member had voidable title to the gift card and though it is true that Costco did have the right to retrieve the gift card from the fraudulent member... Costco is specifically barred by law from retrieving the gift card from Mr. [redacted]. The fraudulent member had the power to transfer good title to the gift card even though he himself had voidable title. Immediately after Mr. [redacted] paid value for the gift card the law applied and barred Costco from retrieving the gift card from Mr. [redacted]. Costco's only recourse is with the fraudulent member, not Mr. [redacted].
Costco claims the gift card was invalid due to there being no consideration. The law which protects Mr. [redacted] is not concerned whether there was consideration. RCW 62A.2-403 (1) (b) specifically addresses a bounced check, so naturally the lack of consideration from the fraudulent member isn't at issue with a law protecting a bona fide purchaser. The no consideration issue is relevant when Costco attempts to be made whole from the fraudulent party.
Costco claims Mr. [redacted] took a risk by making a purchase using Craigslist and therefore his recourse is with the fraudulent member. The law states otherwise. 62A.2-403 (1) (b) states the complete opposite of Costco's claim. The innocent party retains the property and Costco's recourse is with the fraudulent member, not the innocent party.
Because RCW 62A.2-403 (1) (b) directly applies to the facts concerning Mr. [redacted], he declines Costco's offer of a lesser $210 gift card. Mr. [redacted] continues to ask that Costco issue him a new $380 gift card.
Costco also never addressed Mr. [redacted]'s request that Costco remove the comments regarding the fraudulent member's actions on Mr. [redacted]'s account as he fears someone may mistakenly believe he engaged in these fraudulent actions. He would like to be assured that management will take care of this.
Sincerely,[redacted]

Costco and Sunrun are working with the member on a resolution.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and I find that this resolution is minimally satisfactory. It took way too much effort on my end, but at least I was given the money I was owed.Sincerely, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:  I have heard this response from Costco twice previously and "up to 90 days" is apparently 90 days is a concept beyond their capability.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I have tried to reach out to the [redacted] and have not had any luck. He might be out of town for the Holiday.  I wanted to apologize for the service and review options for him to renew. He is currently expired and is the secondary person on the account. He wanted to be placed as the...

primary on the account , which we were happy to do f his mom would come down or call the 800 number since she is the primary on the account. He didn't want to do that so he left. If you need anymore info please let me know.

I am rejecting this response because:Sonia, Gigi & Executive Staff of COSTCO Auto Program, There is nothing in your email attachment that reflects or proves Costco has actually mailed me a Bonus Cash Card, check, or provided a cash rebate for my 2015 purchase.  To clarify your confusion, the  $500 you list below as the customer cash from Costco was not that at all.  That $500 is the Military discount the dealership gave me at the time of purchase.  Once again, I was never given my Costco Bonus Cash/Rebate Card or Check available at the time of my purchase (11/2015) as you have outlined below for the Costco Auto Program.    At Costco Member Services I have already confirmed with management that any amount indicating CASH TO CUSTOMER BONUS PROGRAM  on Costco's website is money that comes directly from COSTCO not the dealership as previously claimed.   Additionally, I still have not received the Costco Cash rebates owed for my new 2017 Buick Encore either.  I have received no Costco Rebates at all for either vehicle or even an acknowledgement from COSTCO'S AUTO PROGRAM I am even owed any rebates at all.  Based on what you have outlined below in your email I am owed $500 rebates from Costco for my 2015 Sentra. I still have never received  any rebates from the COSTCO AUTO PROGRAM directly.  Lastly, I am still owed $1,400 for my 2017 Buick Encore that was purchased on 8/31/17.     TOTAL AMOUNT OWED FROM COSTCO AUTO PROGRAM: $3,300 2015 NISSAN SENTRA: Customer Bonus CASH-TO-CUSTOMER: $500NMAC Lease CASH: $1,400**Please note SENTRA lease outlines rebates granted that are NON-CASH REBATE CREDITS & NOT CASH REBATES** TOTAL OWED FOR SENTRA = $1,900 2017 BUICK ENCORE FWD PREFERREDTOTAL BONUS CASH TO CUSTOMER REBATES= $1,400[redacted]REBATES QUOTED FROM COSTCOAUTO.COM SEE SCREEN SHOTS BELOW[redacted] Total Amount for all CASH rebates for 2 leases (SENTRA SV & BUICK PREFERRED FWD): = $3,300  Here are the screen shots reflecting my  purchase of a 2017 Buick Encore which includes $1,400 COSTCO CASH REBATES.   I also have indicated the rebates available for the 2017 Sentra SV which I'm sure were comparable parameters in 2015.  Based on the 2017 numbers clearly you can see $1000 CASH TO CUSTOMER comes from COSTCO.  Now, the $500 CASH you referred to for my 2015 Sentra SV was probably reflected in the same as the below 2017 Sentra SV.  One very important thing to note from your trail you stated:"Attachment: #3 Member only price sheet that was in effect at the time you lease your vehicle."Unfortunately, this is false information.   Once again, I was verbally told I couldn't use my Costco member benefits and also get any dealer incentives, rebates and discounts.  So how and where was it applied to my lease then?  Furthermore, the Costco Member Only Price Sheet was never shown to me by Nissan of Escondido in 2015 which further disproves Costco's claim that I was granted the Costco Rebates.  I also was not provided with a Costco Authorization Number by the dealer so how was the program applied without that number?   According to Costco's corporate protocol for the Auto Program "Costco requires dealerships to show and allow its members to view the Costco Member Price Sheet prior to a car sale or deal."      Additionally, the CASH the dealer provides is the $500 rebate you mentioned in this trail.  Where are the rebates Costco is responsible for paying to the customer as outlined on your Costco Auto Program website?  Not only was that CASH not granted to me by the dealer for requesting to participate in the program, COSTCO never mailed me my REBATE CASH CARD either.  Again, the only $500 CASH applied to my lease in 2015 was for my military discount which I also have stated to you verbally.   The Escondido Auto Parkway Nissan dealership you claimed paid me my owed rebates and member pricing is still refusing to honor Costco's Member pricing even though they are a participating dealer.  This is why I ended up at Buick's dealership to proceed with my new purchase that Costco is refusing to pay rebates on as well.   I hope these errors are resolved immediately as I will be pursing legal action to obtain resolution if my total Costco rebates aren't mailed to me by the end of this week. [redacted]From: Sonia T[redacted] <[redacted]@costcoauto.com>Sent: Thursday, August 31, 2017 11:29 PMTo: '[redacted]@hotmail.com'Cc: Gigi A[redacted]Subject: [redacted] Lease   Hi [redacted], We are pleased to be able to help you understand the amount paid for your vehicle even though you did not register with the Costco Auto Program before visiting the dealership and leasing your vehicle. Mossy Nissan Escondido has accommodated our mutual requests and provided background information regarding your transaction. The positive response supports their assertion at the time of delivery that they would offer you the Costco price for your new Sentra, even though you did not have a Costco authorization number. Additionally, per our conversation you requested verification of the incentives that were available on November 27, 2015 when you took delivery of your 2015 Nissan Sentra SV Sedan. The Costco pre-arranged discount of $200 from the manufacturer invoice total is $18,431. Citi fraudulently open an account in my name without my knowledge, request, or approval.Sincerely,[redacted]

Our position is unchanged. Costco stands behind our original denial of this claim.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
The concierge is walking me through items that I have already done.  When I spoke to them back in January 2017, they were extremely rude and stated that they put this policy in place to save money, also so that they can push it off on the manufacture and refer you out to them and then the vendor and then the vendor refers you to the concierge.  A continuous circle to waste the buyers time for an item that was defective upon purchase.  I purchased from Costco believing they stood by their products and accepted returns when the item was defective; however, that is a policy Costco no longer wishes to honor.  I will not be purchasing electronics from Costco ever again.  As I stated before, anything other then a full refund is a waste of my time.  I am a consultant and charge $250/hour.  If Costco is willing to pay for my wasted time, which is valuable and Costco doesn't seem to value my money or time, then I would be happy to waste hours on the phone with a person who is walking through a protocol list with no actual knowledge outside of their written script.
Sincerely,[redacted]
